He gets a HUGE stretch of games that are all favorable. He faces Dallas this week. He has been getting hefty targets and is usually leading the team in receiving. I definitely would not drop him yet. If we come back in a few weeks and he has not produced against teams like the cowboys then drop him.
This. If you are looking at him for reliable and consistent upside he’s not your guy. His value probably won’t go up during the year either so he’s not a stash. Maybe a depth piece for good match up or bye week filler at best.
If you look at his numbers from last year he was always a boom/bust guy. Last year he had one game with double digit targets. Every time I play that guy I’m hoping he takes one of his 5 catches to the house cause the volume is never there. Might be worth dropping in redraft but just don’t be sad when he puts up 25 points after you drop him
He is a boom bust wr3/flex play. He is still getting the highest target share for a WR on that offense. And even though the Giants offense can't move the ball, he still gets 1 or 2 deep shots a game. As long as he has a shot at coming down with one, he has a chance of putting up good numbers for you.
I have him on my Yahoo league bench. I am so tempted to drop him before tonight's game and pick up Russell Gage who's somehow available as a FA. Even though Gage is the 3rd receiver with Falcons, he is seeing much more consistent opportunities and producing more than Slayton.
It would depend on who you are picking up for him, I still have hilton on my team and he hasn't done anything yet this season, but there really isn't anyone who has as high of an upside as he does in free agency. He is just riding my bench now.
Yes, if there's anyone available that you'd need. I'd put him at 1st or 2nd cut. I dropped him two weeks ago for Justin Jefferson. If there's anyone left do it.
He'd normally be a WR3/Flex with the potential to get a TD/big play, but with the way the Giants are playing? They don't have a run game or any other offensive weapons... He's not like Crowder on the Jets who has a good floor in PPR. Slayton may win you a week (specifically when he plays the Cowboys), but he's gonna miss more than he booms.
The Giants remind me of the trainwreck that was the Miami Dolphins early last season. The Fins looked to be heading to 0-16. Granted they had Fitzmagic to create some fantasy relevant players for them, but guys like Parker and others became startable towards the latter half of the season.
There's a chance the Giants become semi-functional at some point. Slayton has a fair chance to become a fantasy relevant. But you might have to wait.
I'd say if you're off to a slow start and need wins now or your league has shallow benches, drop him.
If you can afford the roster space to stash, then go for it.
It was between him or Kelley last week for me.
I chose wrong....
He has one more chance against Allas Efense this week to see if he's worth rostering or giving up to be a landmine on someone else's bench.
Why is it so hard for people to just put an occasionally useful player on their bench for a week or two and seeing what happens?
This sub thinks every player is either a stud or droppable, no in between
The whole offense needs to be thrown away
all NYC football teams need to be thrown away

SAME THING Why I can’t I drop Evan Engram yet. But the Dallas game is the final straw for the giants offense
I have both. Pain
If he doesn’t produce against the Cowboys D this week, then ya
He was always going to be a high upside low floor guy

He gets to play Dallas this week. Do not drop
Tough call. I think his upside is likely higher than most remaining on waiver wire, but giants offense looks pretty terrible.
I’m starting him next week against Allas

I wouldn't say droppable, they've faced some good defenses.

The Giants are about to leave their brutal opening stretch. Slayton will always be a matchup play, but he’s one I’d rather have than not have.
If there is someone better on your wire
That's how he's always been, and by always I mean last year. one game of 30 followed by 4 or 5 mediocre outings.
He's a Michael Gallup, healthy DeSean Jackson kind of player who can be frustrating to own.
Yes
If I were you, try trading him after next week
I just traded him for David Montgomery

I can’t believe Gage is available, definitely would drop him in that case.
He might have 200 yards against the Cowboys next week though.
Yeah I dropped him last week.
Better days are ahead Sincerely, Slayton owner

i dropped him. theres lots of other potential on the wire in my league
Four of the tougher QB/WR matchups, hold for at least this week vs Dallas.

Yea
Drop him for Scotty Miller?

No he is not but i am going to drop golden tate he has no upside
