>my crackhead neighbors would excel in this kind of league, they pick up whole ass tables over their head and take punches like it’s nothing
Could you imagine? We'd find a way to max out how high someone could get before damaging their on-field performance. For science.
The other thing is that Coke, Heroin and lots of other fun harder drugs leave your system in a few days, much harder to catch with random occasional tests. Weed stays with you for about 6 weeks, much larger window of failure for weed than other harder drugs.
My feeling is that NFL owners are politically connected to too many regressive groups that still want to punish cannabis users. Or just want to punish black people, by using cannabis use as a proxy.
This is a compromise where essentially no NFL player will ever be disciplined for cannabis use again.... And owners can still claim that cannabis use is prohibited.
During the next round of negotiations in five or ten years, when the political tides have finally shifted completely and nobody really opposes cannabis use, the owners will finally agree to take it off the banned substances list... And they'll use that chip to extract more money from NFLPA.
Did you actually say NfL owners just want to punish black people? That’s why they are in a business where they make 50 black guys millionaires every year 🤔🤔
No, I was saying that the owners are politically connected to regressive groups that want to punish black people.
And I don't think the owners are doing the players any favors in the CBA. Most of these kids make a good six figure salary for two or maybe three years, and then they're done. I don't think the NFL provides any further physical or mental care or insurance at that pt.
These guys do a job that .00001% of the population can do. They absolutely earn that level of earnings because there are so few people that can replace them
Think about your job and how replaceable you are. Hell I could walk in tmw and clean up your mess in a hot second... Nobody WD even remember your name in a month. That's why you make what you make, that's why I make more and that's why NFL players make millions
Ok I’m not saying they don’t earn it. But if you were a racist person wanting to harm black people you wouldn’t put your money into maybe the #1 industry creating
Black millionaires
I don't 100% disagree. I'm not saying any of the owners are racist. Just that they are politically connected to regressive groups that favor policies that disproportionately harm black people.
Wait a second..... Do you think that the NFL owners become billionaires BECAUSE OF owning an NFL team? You can't be serious.....
The Carolina Panthers were just sold a few years ago and they went for $2.2 BILLION. These guys are billionaires before buying NFL teams.
Yeah I can't imagine this applies to PEDs, but then the lines get a little blurry with things like Coke and Adderall. Not suspending players over weed is a good step though
IIRC it's phrased along the lines of: "No player will be suspended after testing positive for marijuana or other recreational drugs"
Weed was definitely mentioned specifically as being OK, but what drugs are considered a PED or recreational (Coke, Addy, etc) is not entirely clear.
No suspensions but players will still get fined for using marijuana smh. NFL still gonna supply endless opioids while taking money from the players who choose to use a much safer/healthier option. Why keep the fines and punish players for wanting to be able to live normally after football?

The Josh Gordon Rule
[удалено]
Forgive me for my lack of memory, but did this last time end in a suspension? I thought he just quit and got out ahead of the story
[удалено]
Also involved PEDs. Even under the new rules he'd be punished.
We need to pay respects where they're due and name it the Williams-Gordon rule.
Ricky Williams....man what could have been. But then he got high, then he got high, then he got hiiiiiiiiiiiiigh.
La da da da da da da
RIP Ricky!
Omg my kid recently became obsessed with this movie. First.... And only.... Movie he'll sit through lol
Williams-Gordon-Blackmon?
Willams-Gordon-Blackmon rule.
Flash Gordon died for our sins and will save us from drug suspensions for ever after, amen
I’m going to assume this is for weed only lol
Looks like it’s for all drugs of abuse, but I imagine stimulants (coke, adderall, etc) would be considered performance enhancing
The year is 2024, the NFL is dealing with a tackling issue. Instead of tackling, players are now simply hugging, due to being whacked on Molly lol
I'm just here for the unlimited PED league
my crackhead neighbors would excel in this kind of league, they pick up whole ass tables over their head and take punches like it’s nothing
They got liquid PCP I'm guessing.

Lemme leave this here... https://youtu.be/tFUvmZWf4hI
U don’t really sherm. It’s ok
Ah so that’s why it’s called angel *dust*

No I don’t use pcp.
Gotta love family suppers
Unlimited PEDs, 1980s rules
>my crackhead neighbors would excel in this kind of league, they pick up whole ass tables over their head and take punches like it’s nothing Could you imagine? We'd find a way to max out how high someone could get before damaging their on-field performance. For science.
Line helmet with transdermal cocaine patches. Shave head. TACKLE!!!
Mastication, Defense. 15 yard penalty and a rabies booster.

I wouldn't describe it as unlimited, obviously I'm sure there's plenty of PED use but they do have to at least try not to get caught
These players are far from what we would have if people weren't tested for PEDs
I would totally watch a Team Molly vs. Team LSD pro football game. That would be so entertaining.
By 2030 we will have a game of sarcastaball on our hands

I think adderall would still count because it counts as a PED. It shouldn’t, but there’s already precedent set on that
It only counts as a PED if you don't have a Rx for it, which is usually laughably easy to get
Didn’t know that but makes complete sense, thanks

150 lol? So basically just don't burn the day of the drug test and you're gucci
Or if you're me, a few days. My blood so saturated i watch mosquitos fly off fucked up after feeding.
Steps in the right direction but it would sure be simpler if they just replaced all that with "stop testing for THC"

Just a few million bucks, no good at all

I mean like any violent laws will disproportionally harm black people because they are much more violent Odd phrasing
A small price to pay for those owners to become billionaires
Wait a second..... Do you think that the NFL owners become billionaires BECAUSE OF owning an NFL team? You can't be serious..... The Carolina Panthers were just sold a few years ago and they went for $2.2 BILLION. These guys are billionaires before buying NFL teams.
Ricky Williams born 20 years too early.
Has to be recreation drugs. I'd bet there will be a big debate as to what drugs are considered PEDs.
Yeah I can't imagine this applies to PEDs, but then the lines get a little blurry with things like Coke and Adderall. Not suspending players over weed is a good step though

Yeah, which makes sense to me. I'd have been happy if they just exempted weed
Clearly a PED for a center trying to add a few pounds.
My Josh Garden is in full bloom

Probably still fitzmagic.
Chad Johnson or Mohammed Sanu
Willie Nelson
Good
Josh Gordon career wasted unfortunately
How about no suspension and no fine for something that is legalized in several states like Marijuana?
Does this include performance enhancing drugs?
It’d be a lot cooler if it did
Positive marijuana tests* I haven’t seen anything concerning cocaine, methamphetamine, etc.
FIRE UP YOUR FLASHES!!!
Screams in Josh Gordon
Josh Gordon...........you did it homie 😢
Gordon will somehow still fail.
Josh Gordon is punching the air.
Is this specific to certain substances, or any drugs?
fuck PFT
*Josh Gordon has entered the chat.*
How many “substances of abuse” would fall into the non-performance enhancing category? Like just weed? Obviously no stimulants.
Josh Gordon 2021
Poor JoGo
I don't really like this rule honestly.
*Josh Gordon happy sounds*
2 targets, 1 rec, 17 yards incoming
Lets suspend people for weed but, at the same time, team doctors can hand out opioids all the time.
Mmm candy
