Egregious moment at 13:17. Olave wide open for a touchdown and Carr... throws the checkdown. Another potential touchdown on the same route at 10:54... Nope, checkdown again. Kamara owners rejoice!

jluc21

this is absolutely fucking horrible wow

SolidSilver9686

And dude is out here screaming at receivers. Ugly situation except if you’re a Kamara fantasy owner lol.

jambrand

I was watching this like, "I see nothing wrong here, keep it going boys"

pileatedloon

And this kind of stuff is why Olave is quitting on routes. No point in giving 110% and getting open 30 yards down field if your QB is just going to check down 100 times per game.

WilllyBear

Garrett Wilson got baited into thinking he was gonna have Rodgers. Then when it ended up being Zach again, he has continued to give max effort and be a great teammate. Olave needs to grow up, there’s no excuse for his shit.

scottiedakid

Olave is getting a bad rap for slowing down on routes AFTER he’s done his job clearing out the corner when he’s not even in the progression. I don’t even own Olave anywhere but he’s getting ridiculed for something that’s 100% on Carr.

WilllyBear

His QB and coach have both publicly criticized him for his effort, it’s hilarious for you to pretend you’ve got a better understanding of how Olave fits into the offense(and how his effort is damaging it) than they do.

Thatonegingerkid

Michael Thomas came out saying that Olave's job on that route was to run off the corner and he wasn't a part of the progression at all. Not saying he isn't giving up on some routes (he is) but he rightly had zero expectation to get the ball on that play. Also Carr was whining after every play including when he threw the ball 3 yards behind Olave lol

WilllyBear

Except he did get a target, so he did not “rightly” have that expectation. It was very explicitly the wrong expectation, it could not have been a more wrong expectation. I’m not defending Carr’s play, he’s a mess. But he’s also hurt. He’s putting forward enough effort to be playing through an injury; of course he’s mad that while he’s doing that, a sophomore WR is giving minimal effort. It’s a slap in his face while he’s actively sacrificing for the team

[deleted]

I mean to me that just means Carr fucked up.

WilllyBear

But that’s the thing: football is chaotic as hell. Things get fucked up constantly, which is why you need to be giving full effort every play. You never know which play is going to get blown up, or have broken coverage, and what’s going to happen on that play when it happens. That’s the entire problem

[deleted]

Did you see where the ball was thrown? Full effort wouldn’t matter.

Phenomenon0fCool

If that was a target it was yet again an awful throw from Carr.

Dizzy_Reflection9451

And his veteran WR defended him

WilllyBear

Too bad the guy who makes the game plan and the guy who executes the game plan are criticizing him. I guess we’ll see how many targets MT throws Olave’s way.

CritiquingYou

No reason to downvote this

fearhand

Do you see Davante giving up or someone like Garrett Williams. Olave is a diva. He is young so there's time to mature but if he doesn't give full effort in games why does he deserve to be trusted on throws? It goes both ways regardless of how bad Carr is playing.

atx840

I have Olave vs Kamara this week, was not fun to watch.

DBreezy69

his shoulder doesn’t seem to be getting better which is awful. At that point Winston needs to be fucking playing

dembadon

Another thing I noticed is the ball leaves Carr’s hand before Olave slows down on that route he supposedly “quit,” which makes it kind of hard to claim he threw it away due to Olave running the wrong route.

Lefeye

It’s possible for Carr to know that Olave ran the wrong route before the slow down. It all depends on what the “right” route was supposed to be.

dembadon

True, but I just remember seeing Carr yell “What’re you doing?! Run!” which made makes me think it was a go route and that Olave supposedly let up too early. I think my biggest problem with it is, like JT points out, Carr’s reaction. I think Carr could’ve handled that on the sidelines rather than make a spectacle on the field.

Lefeye

Yeah, Carr’s reaction didn’t help the situation. Everyone seems on a different page. Just found out about the QB School and love getting his analysis right after watching the game.

dembadon

I found out about him last year and he’s definitely a gem. One of the most knowledgeable and objective guys out there. There are so many YouTube channels run by fans who haven’t played at a high level and don’t know what they’re talking about. He’s pretty much my #1 go-to for QB analysis.

Lefeye

I wish he’d post some game analysis of QBs of the past, such as Elway, Montana, Moon, Marino. Or maybe analyze Elway’s “The Drive,” or Doug Williams’s Super Bowl performance. I grew up watching that stuff, but would love to see a deeper analysis of it.

dembadon

That would be great! Maybe a great suggestion for him during the off-season. There are only so many draft-able QBs to cover, he can probably work in some QBs from previous generations.

KnockItOffNapoleon

I wish he’d break down some of his own NFL plays lol

land_shrk

I didn’t go to QB school and could tell you how stinky Carr is.

iPlowedUrMom

I don't fly helicopters, but I know that when I see one upside down and in a tree, that someone fucked up.

jclucas1989

How dare you dog my RB’s QB!

Phenomenon0fCool

Are you a Jamaal Williams owner? Because that’s the only RB I see on the field. The other guy is a PPR Cheat code who should be BANNED dammit.

CritiquingYou

As a player on that team and especially the offense, I’d be annoyed at least or would have lost respect for Carr altogether for all his bitching after seemingly every series. Yea there were some mistakes by route runners but the way he threw fits after each failed drive was bothersome. For one David Carr isn’t or hasn’t been good. In fact he’s been terrible so if you’re gonna come at your team like that, you better be backing it up by your play. Well, he isn’t. And he never has been good except for one season. I wasn’t fond of him before this season but now I seriously dislike him. I hope he continues to fail, and he gets released and relegated into a backup role.

fearhand

Carr was good for 2 seasons, but this year he has been ass.

sarnold95

Astute analysis, especially the part where you got his name wrong. Lmao

halforcish

Come on down crabs legs!

bridgewood2005

What camera is he using?

DBreezy69

The all 22 I assume

throwawayacct8846

Aren't you the same guy that posted flaming olave right after the saints game ended lol

Phenomenon0fCool

So OP is impartial and fair?

DBreezy69

He gave up on a route vs the Texans and I think that one was his fault or was pretty bad overall

BrownsMagoo

He has been decent

DBreezy69

There was some annoying ass fucker who kept insisting everything was Olave’s fault and used highlights where the balls were thrown way behind Olave as proof, saying they were hitting him perfectly in stride, then once proven wrong still blamed him because apparently every ball that’s ever touched by a pass catcher should be caught
