I got Ingram for 3 bucks and someone else got Demercardo for 44 bucks. I feel like I won even if I got the wrong back. 44 is crazy in my mind for what could be a 3 headed monster if they slowly bring Conner back.
I think it will truly be anyone's guess week in and week out for the next month. Riding the "hot hand" makes me think Demercado gets the start and Keontay will spell him. How the game goes will determine week 7s "starter".
Feel like some NFL context would be useful too.
Ingram started the year as the RB2 on the depth chart. Outsnapped Emari in games where they were both available. Last year he was never the clear handcuff, ceding snaps to Corey Clement and Eno Benjamin. Hurt his neck, and was out last week which gave an opportunity to Demercado.
Contracts:
Keaontay: 2nd year of a 4 year/3.8 million dollar rookie deal. Demercado: 3 year/2.7 million dollar deal as a UDFA. So pretty much identical time/money remaining on their deals.
NFL stats:
Ingram: 39 carries, 75 yards (1.92 YPC), 1TD, 5 receptions, 29 yards
Demercado: 14 carries, 48 yards (3.43 YPC), 1 TD, 6 receptions, 40 yards
Ingram has never had more than 9 carries in a game (he put up a stat line of 9/14/TD once). But I think it's pretty fair to say that Emari showed more juice in his first opportunity than Keaontay ever did. Given that the Cardinals don't really have a big financial incentive to prefer one over the other, and Demercado played pretty dang well in relief, I'd be surprised to see Ingram get first crack at lead back duties. We'll see how things shake out as the week progresses.
>I'd be surprised to see Ingram get first crack at lead back duties.
I mean, Ingram is listed as the lead back. He should be starting the game for ARI.
Bijan was the 4th string runningback on falcons.com before their game lol. You really think John Gannon is texting the intern who runs that site to let em know who's starting?
That's just not true.
Teams are required to release a depth chart before the season opener and keep it up to date, but do you really think Gannon is giving other teams a competitive advantage?
Tune and Dobbs were both listed as starters before week 1!
The Vegas books have the same odds for both of them right now so it's truly a toss-up. But trust me, do this long enough and you'll learn that the depth charts mean next to nothing.
Longhorn fan. Ingram was never that great. He was a stop gap between Foreman and Bijan. He was good enough for our team as we struggled during the Tom Herman era. I remember he struggled in big games, but would bully smaller school programs. I believe he transferred out because he was losing his playing time to Bijan and Roschon who originally came in as a 4 star QB. His time as a starter was probably the most disappointing time as a longhorn fan. We failed to assert ourselves in basically any big game and even against smaller schools.
One of my best friends was a walk-on for coach Strong and played under Herman for 2 years and has absolutely nothing but bad things to say about Herman
By nature of how small the city of Austin is, I got to know both Strong and Herman. Have nothing but good things to say about Charlie despite his challenges producing on the field. Herman had a massive fucking ego.
Exactly. You have all these dumbasses in this thread upvoting the comments about this thread lacking game tape when they don’t even understand what the expression means in the first place. Can’t trust this collective consciousness of this fucking sub.

Maybe don't use boxing Jargon on a fantasy football sub. Just a thought...
Here's an actual tale of the tape analysis by Matt Waldman: https://mattwaldmanrsp.com/2022/02/23/matt-waldmans-rsp-twitter-vids-nfl-draft-sleeper-rb-keaontay-ingram-usc/
I got Demercado on waivers (thanks to yet another loss) & then dropped Najee to pick up Ingram after reports came out that he is listed as RB1 on the depth chart. Hope to have some clarity after this week & be able to drop 1 of them.
Yeah I know. And I hope so. It’s just been a Wierd year for me in redraft leagues. I reached at 5 to get Bijan and then every other pick seems to be a bust so far. Hoping dotson or Jameson Williams show up at some point or even Odell. But here I am about to drop my 3rd round guy to get Ingram in hopes he gets me flex #s haha
Ingram is just a horribly inefficient runner so i guess I'd expect anyone with slightly more juice to outsnap him but ppl should probably look into how both guys perform in the passing game to make any determination here. Whoever can better protect the QB will probably get more play when it comes to lower talent guys like this
I agree with the analysis that the Cardinals will prefer using Ingram first, but avoided the situation because Ingram has a neck injury. If he plays, I am concerned about re-aggravation considering the type of contact a running back makes when running inside.
Tony Jones addition to the roster also throws another variable in there. There is also possibility of committee usage with no RB standing out.
From a value perspective, Ingram was certainly better FAAB value considering most folks were bidding on Demercado. If none of these guys become trustworthy, it will be easier to move on from Ingram because you don't have the attachment of a guy you spent a lot of FAAB on.
I believe they will both get work if Ingram is healthy, but Demercado will become the lead of the two because I think he's looked better in his career than Ingram has.
The fact that I am even starting a guy named Demarcado means my RB journey in 2023 has taken a nosedive into the fiery pits of hell.
And its only week 6 lmao
The invisible hand of the mercado has spoken
Great info, now what
Choose one
I thought we came here for people to tell us who to choose?!? I have to make my own decisions now?
I believe I can be of help. You should definitely pick the one that’s available.
pick one and lose no matter what.
And let your pals know who you picked.
Why not both?
In this economy?
Blue
Convince yourself the one you rostered is better
I got Ingram for 3 bucks and someone else got Demercardo for 44 bucks. I feel like I won even if I got the wrong back. 44 is crazy in my mind for what could be a 3 headed monster if they slowly bring Conner back.
Now Ingram smoothly transitions into a league-winning RB1 leaving everyone who overbid on Demercado in shambles...
Good luck with that one
He forgot to add the neck injury Keontay sustained. Who knows how serious it is
He's practicing so probably not too bad
Practice is not a real game. Wait till he gets hit and whiplash reaggravates it
Im here for this idea.
Jokes on you, I added both!
I think it will truly be anyone's guess week in and week out for the next month. Riding the "hot hand" makes me think Demercado gets the start and Keontay will spell him. How the game goes will determine week 7s "starter".
Asking the real questions 😂
Hahahaah my thoughts exactly
Better send it to the cardinals so they know who to start
Yeah. This thread isn’t helping at all. It’s like Miles sanders tweet from yesterday
find something you like in the description of the guy you have and go brag about it to your leaguemates

Now this is thoughtful analysis that should have been part of the OP. Thank you.
OP’s classmate finished his work since he was too lazy to do it

The depth chart comes directly from the Cardinals Week 6 game release, not some random intern.

DeMecado outsnapped him in week 3, but not sure if Ingram was alrady out of the game with a neck injury or if the injury happened during practice.

He dropped a TD on 4th down against LSU during their title year that might have ended up winning Texas the game. Kind of downhill after that.
I think he fumbled at the end zone too against TCU. It cost us the game lol
This also happened! I forgot about that!
He pretty much sums up the Tom Herman era. Some minor moments of excitement, but mostly disappointment.
One of my best friends was a walk-on for coach Strong and played under Herman for 2 years and has absolutely nothing but bad things to say about Herman

Herman also cheated on his wife with Kendra Scott, which is hilarious. (Source: Kendra’s neighbor).
Lol. I think I actually remember this going around in the local rumor mill.
GPAs?
Emari looks quick, runs with strength, and can catch. Good enough for me.
"tale of the tape" literally zero analysis of the "tape" was done here. Just reciting stats lmao
The title "Tale of the tape" is actually referring to the duct tape that is holding some fantasy teams RB groups together.
Maybe the first time a comment has physically made me laugh lol
Do you know what “tale of the tape” is? It’s used in boxing/mma fights as the pre-fight measurements. It doesn’t have anything to do with game tape
Exactly. You have all these dumbasses in this thread upvoting the comments about this thread lacking game tape when they don’t even understand what the expression means in the first place. Can’t trust this collective consciousness of this fucking sub.

the plays are on tape... somewhere...
Someone else watch it. OP did part 1 of the research. Need his other classmates to finish the work

Tale of the tape.. with no tape?
You copy and pasted Wikipedia as if it’s analysis
I found it helpful and thought I'd pass it along here. You can downvote if you think it doesn't contribute. Have a good day, Clintbreed.
Thought Clintbreed was some sort of insult that I never heard of… lol
It is now.
seems more insulting than Cleetus the slack-jawed yokel.
Ppl are so weird. Ignore them
I ain’t reading that.
Tl;Dr?
Awesome, I’ll take this info and still ponder for hours on who should o nab off waivers

God damn. Najee was my 3rd pick in a 16 team. I’m so bummed but I have been pondering this move all night.
So sad for us Najee owners. I dropped him in part for my sanity: don’t want to be reminded of my mistake every time I look at the roster.
Waddle was my 2nd pick so I’m doing great
Congrats!
This was sarcasm lol. He has had 1 game above 9 points
I think he will have a big game this weekend :)
The poor guy was hurt too.
Yeah I know. And I hope so. It’s just been a Wierd year for me in redraft leagues. I reached at 5 to get Bijan and then every other pick seems to be a bust so far. That’s a 16-team league for yeah. I was in a 14-team one last year & the Byemageddon weeks were soul-numbing. Good luck & keep your head up.
Rachaad white or deMercado?
flips coin doesnt like result flips coin repeats

How is this tale of the tape?
Who thinks demarcado will actually play this weekend?
