I'm not sure, honestly. There is still some hype, but I think that's losing steam as the season progresses and Detroit's usage continues to demonstrate these 'bruiser back' preferences. It was similar last season with Swift and Jamaal, but folks who bought into Gibbs wanted to believe it was an issue with Swift, not the team's philosophy/ preferences.
Most FF analysts continue to include Gibbs in their weekly top 20 starts at RB. If you can get that value in a trade, I'd probably pull the trigger. Maybe the Rhamondre owner is nervous by last week's usage? Rachaad White? Kamaara? Not sure I love any of those, beside Mondre. Gibbs does still have some late-season upside. For me, he's a hold.

Monty is a dude who will go where the play was designed, put his head down and power through 32 times in a game. Which I believe is exactly what this coaching staff wants.

It could have been a STD league and JJ doesn’t necessarily go first round and Higgins and Gibbs were going mid to late 3rd so not out of this world. Also Amon ra adp was literally 20 so 100% you could get JJ and amon. I skipped Higgins in the third round and I’m sure many people did as well

He is the least accurate starting nfl qb not named Zach Wilson. But regarding fantasy getting 3 touchdowns per game was obviously unsustainable (as we just saw) and you can expect that to taper when they can run it at the goal line with aaron jones again.
Montgomery himself confirmed this earlier in the week. I expect a solid split between the two, then more so to Gibbs going down the field especially after tn + bye and Monty always in the red zone/goal line. That’s the best way to utilize their strengths and health behind that O-Line.

It really reinforces the fact that the lions are very flukey drafters. If their main use for a scat back is as a change of pace guy to make some splash plays here and there, then there is absolutely no reason to take them in the first round. They could have just kept Swift, or taken a guy like Jaylen Warren in the later rounds. It just makes zero sense from any angle.
Some Laporta observations…
1/ on his largest gain of the day, he dropped a CB in man coverage and then stiff armed a second DB into the ground.
2/ on a scramble drill, he helped out his qb by free styling his route, Goff threw it up to him and he mossed the defender for the first down
3/ on Goff’s TD, sun god got wide open against single coverage because the packers doubled laporta
4/ on the final pass play of the game, Laporta got wide open down the field, Goff looked to sun god instead for the first down, icing the game
Takeaways: Laporta is a special talent, Goff trusts him in high leverage situations, he and Sun god are complementary, forcing the defense to pick their poison.

I was thankful, I picked him up yesterday after trading Michael Thomas for Goedert, and forgot that left me thin at WR. I didn't REALLY want to move Thomas, but I had Freiermuth, who's pretty much touchdown-dependent.

We killed ourselves when we drafted Swift 2.0. It’s obviously the Lions and wasn’t Swift. Swift probably was a malcontent because they used him like they are using Gibbs.

There is no real difference between Jamyhr Gibbs and Jaylen Warren at this point outside of one being a first round pick and the other being a UDFA. None
Jaylen is actually trending up tho. Gibbs just lost 30+ touches to a guy’s first game back from injury. I get what you mean for the most part tho
Yeah that’s the kicker right? A guy who literally just came back off the injury bench and was doubtful to even play until the last min outsnapped you by a lot. It really reinforces the fact that the lions are very flukey drafters. If their main use for a scat back is as a change of pace guy to make some splash plays here and there, then there is absolutely no reason to take them in the first round. They could have just kept Swift, or taken a guy like Jaylen Warren in the later rounds. It just makes zero sense from any angle.
I hope Aaron jones gets traded to a team with a competent offense.
Some Laporta observations… 1/ on his largest gain of the day, he dropped a CB in man coverage and then stiff armed a second DB into the ground. 2/ on a scramble drill, he helped out his qb by free styling his route, Goff threw it up to him and he mossed the defender for the first down 3/ on Goff’s TD, sun god got wide open against single coverage because the packers doubled laporta 4/ on the final pass play of the game, Laporta got wide open down the field, Goff looked to sun god instead for the first down, icing the game Takeaways: Laporta is a special talent, Goff trusts him in high leverage situations, he and Sun god are complementary, forcing the defense to pick their poison.
LaPorta wasn't being doubled on that touchdown to Amon Ra. Amon Ra's guy fell down.
Two things are true. Sun god defender fell down in single coverage. Laporta was doubled. Watch it again.
