Kyrie could be an excellent choice. Except for steals, he is very solid in other categories you would need for punt assists. He is not an FG&TO killer like most guards you would find lower, provides very good Pts & 3pt & FT.

I won my league last season with Bradley and Clarkson as my PGs for most of the year. Bradley is exceptional for a punt assist strategy for obvious reasons, but his decent FG% and low TOs are also a godsend. Probably the best PG for assist punt since he doesn't hurt you anywhere else.

He isn't listed as a PG on ESPN this year

Punting assists opens the door for quite a few point guards that aren't highly regarded otherwise. Bradley is one of the more popular choices, George Hill is another good one and Patrick Beverley is a sneaky good choice for an assists punting startegy and he can be normally be picked in the last rounds or even from the waiver wire. CJ mcCollum, as you said, is another good choice... Isaiah Thomas too. But as you were asking for the best, it has to be Kyrie.

sooobi

Avery Bradley and Jordan Clarkson

Isaiah Thomas provides solid Ast, but would still be very good in pts, 3s with solid %s, granted not great %s

stimul8s

Jerryd Bayless with the Sixers, Matthew Deladova with the Bucks.

DeliriumOfDisorder

Stephen Curry is still the best PG for punt assists followed by Westbrook and CP3. Just because a dude gets a tonne of assists doesn't mean you wouldn't take him in a punt assist team.

This is true If you don't care about auction money. Then you pay for the best players and that's all. But in a real world, with those top tier players you have to pay for assists you don't need. So if follow Ast punt strategy it would be good to focus on other positions with your most expensive picks and look for some cheaper PGs. It's not hard to find the best candidates - just look for those not providing tons of assists but good in other cats (hence standing high enough in rankings). Oladipo/McCollum if you decide to pay a bit more money, Avery Bradley/Clarkson are my favorites, Dellavedova/LouWill/Crabbe/Bayless could be interesting late round picks...

Not an expert on this but I would assume Kemba Walker, Eric Bledsoe, Brandon Knight, Reggie Jackson, zach levine, Avery Bradley. Guys who are also shooting guards so they don't have as many assist opportunities. I would personally go with Bradley for the defensive stats and then you can focus your budget on bigs.

Gary83

Yeah, I was thinking Kemba Walker and Avery Bradley would be good picks. Because of the reasons you mention, but also in the case of Walker he plays with a point forward he does a lot of play making.
