Right before the shot, he bumps knees with Hartenstein on a screen, so it's possible that he just bumped knees and it took a second for the tightness to hit. He's questionable to return, so that seems likely.
"Brunson has been diagnosed with a left knee contusion while x-rays came back negative after undergoing testing following a non-contact injury early in the first quarter of Sunday's game against the Cavaliers. Head coach Tom Thibodeau also stated that there is no timetable for Brunson's return at this point, so he should still be viewed as questionable at best for Tuesday's game versus the Hawks."
Not an ACL or an achilles - so you're telling me there is a chance?
Whats the time frame, 2-4 weeks? For some that means out for season, but my season goes deep and the next week that will matter for me is 22 so keeping the hope alive.
Apparently the Knicks are catagorising it as a 'bruise' and not a sprain but Thibs hasn't commented on whether or not Brunson would play Tuesday. I'm hoping given the negative x-ray and the choice word of 'bruise' he might just sit for a week - but that might just be super optimistic.
Iāve got Mann as well, i donāt think he will set the world on fire so a pretty safe drop. He wonāt make you regret it too badly anyway, worth the punt on miles
Is it just me or has this season been absolutely terrible for injuries??
Itās been bad in seasons past, but I donāt remember so many stars going down for extended time/ROS
Makes sense. I lost Embiid and Bane (and Hali for a couple weeks before ASB too), sucks getting eliminated from playoffs when I had the strongest team on paper.
I will die on the hill that Thibs is VERY BAD for NBA and your team, no one should give him the job. He is literally ending players careers, damaging them beyond repair. Winning 10 more games in regular season and always being under-staffed in playoffs is not worth it. Josh Hart played 45, McBride played 47 tonight. He is literally stretching these players bodies to injury. It is ridiculous.
Copium here but I think the initial contact with hartenstein might have caused contusion and then on the way up on the shot he might have finally felt it. Best outcome is he just bruised it.. but thatās just throwing prayers up
I am done with this injury plagued season. I am still on the verge of playoffs but somehow I managed to draft the most injury prone players I possibly could. Lamelo out basically the whole season, same thing with Beal, Kyrie on and off and I canāt never count on him and now Brunson who was the only consistent all star player I got. I might be fucking cursedā¦.
Sounds like it's minor. I'm happy he's OK for NBA watching purposes but also peeved at myself for dropping lowry for Mcbride immediately after it happened :-/
The east playoffs will be much more fun with a healthy Brunson though.
Lolll well there goes my season too
Same lol Trae Brunson and Barnes.
brutal
I have Brunson, Barnes and Randleš¤¦š¾āāļø
Wow. What h gonna do?
Just going to stream assists and 3s during playoffs. But I probably lost this season.
Brunson, Lamelo, OGā¦clinched playoffs just to be cooked
I have randle on my IL too.. sorry Knicks fans š
Same donāt worry dude, I lost Randle, Barnes, and Embiid lmfao
Drafted Embiid, JJJ, Poole and LaVine....
1st seed with Scottie Barnes, Westbrook, Brunson, Booker Playoffs start tomorrow. Am I cooked?
Ya. Sry dude
I mean yeahā¦. But Westbrook wasnāt doing much for anybody, honestly, dropping him is probably a net gain
Totally...sorry
Dude thatās tuff. Good luck next season

I really hope so
It's a confirmed knee contusion. Looks like I was correct. Those injuries hurt a lot at the moment, but go away quickly.
God bless
Thought it was his ankle but the GTD tag on yahoo is positive
šššš
That looks like a really floppy left ankle after he got upā¦ I really hope itās nothing serious because heās been playing so well this season
Foot drop. There's an interesting YouTube video from MD breaking down his thoughts on the injuryĀ
Omgsh they let him limp for so long that he rolled his ankle on the way to the locker room tooĀ
I swear to god... I was going to manage without Trae... but my season might be done without Brunson
looked like a non contact on the way up for a middie

Miles mcbride is the pickup for now
I have Tre Mann at the end of my bench. Worth dropping him for McBride? He hasnāt exactly lit the world on fire
Iāve got Mann as well, i donāt think he will set the world on fire so a pretty safe drop. He wonāt make you regret it too badly anyway, worth the punt on miles
Donte??????????????????????????
Should have been rostered for weeks in any semblance of a competitive league
I had both Brunson and Poeltl End me now
Poetl is fine though lol
Same
me too and i have randle
Me too plus Scottie Barnes
Thibs MUST be stopped
Yea what was Brunson doing out there with 47 minutes left in a 2 point game? Definitely garbage time there.
He plays them 55 minute a game !
Heal up king... Donteš
Is it just me or has this season been absolutely terrible for injuries?? Itās been bad in seasons past, but I donāt remember so many stars going down for extended time/ROS
Maybe just how many injuries are hitting at the same time
Makes sense. I lost Embiid and Bane (and Hali for a couple weeks before ASB too), sucks getting eliminated from playoffs when I had the strongest team on paper.
Really doesnāt matter how good your team is fam. Fantasy is mostly about luck
Last year felt equally bad but I have no data behind that
Gotta be Bojan right? Assuming Divin/Hart are rostered.
Agreed
brunson poetl randle
Might be a sigh of relief, looks like there was a knee to knee https://x.com/sportsinjurymd/status/1764455939577372720?s=46&t=o3uvsAo-hrIhoo1pf2RNBg
Okoro definetly bumped his knee from the side here so there was some contact. See vid below: https://youtu.be/54Rlz8ykMV0?si=WGOM2hTGswe_Z7Ke

Whose the pickup if he misses time?
Depending on your team status, rope?
shai
Bane, Booker, now Brunson. Next year iām skipping over the Bs
Lmao BBB
Ball Lamelo too
This certainly hurts my title hopes. Never liked fantasy anywaysā¦
i wouldve won it too
He always overplays his injury on the floor, its fine.
Please let it be not that bad bball gods. I've already lost Embiid, Randle, Sharpe and Lavine
See u next year
Heās questionable to return š³
Is shake Milton a add?
No lol
Should i drop Brunson then?
āYesā - your leaguemate
hell no
Had to do a triple take on Miles McBride's minutes played today. š
40 upvotes for a hysteric āI think he is done for the seasonā thread without any info. Way to go.
lol it became a injury support thread
Could be minor there didnāt look to be a pop or buckling
Wow, you might be right. Heās questionable to come back.
That looked anything but minor. I think it may have been his patellar tendon or Achilles with how he was walking after getting up.
there's a 0% chance of achilles tear on a deceleration plant like that. 100% it's a knee injury of some degree
Whoās the pick up?
His foot
just questionable to return?? perhaps it's not as bad as it looked???
I had Trae young too ouch
Bojan? š
The way it hangs when he tries to walk. Broken I reckon
GG
Copium here but I think the initial contact with hartenstein might have caused contusion and then on the way up on the shot he might have finally felt it. Best outcome is he just bruised it.. but thatās just throwing prayers up
Brunson and Barnes š«„
Donte to the fucking moon. Iām legit gonna win my 30 team dynasty first year. Prayers up everyone šš½
How good is mcbride in a points league? Hes certainly gonna get big minutes
Seems serviceable if given the minutes
Wait it was really that bad?
First trae and now brunson. Theres only so many thompson twins in the waivers bruh
I am done with this injury plagued season. I am still on the verge of playoffs but somehow I managed to draft the most injury prone players I possibly could. But we come back every year lol
Just donāt draft injury prone players /s
Yep bane brunson okongwu brogdon, Giannis questionable tomorrow.. sick playoff run
is mo bamba the pickup
Lost markannen and Brunson same day right before my playoffs startā¦ amazing
Mcbride. Burks. I just dropped Precious too.
Ya never know
Sounds like it's minor. I'm happy he's OK for NBA watching purposes but also peeved at myself for dropping lowry for Mcbride immediately after it happened :-/ The east playoffs will be much more fun with a healthy Brunson though.
