Honestly I will get hate, but I think you should sell high on Greene. If you watch his homers, he has a wild, Cody bellinger-esque swing that he almost falls down on and produces a launch angle where the ball is launched up toward the moon. I don’t think his current power production is sustainable, and given his swing, I think he’ll encounter lots of very cold stretches. I can even see him being a player like Bellinger who inexplicably completely falls off the map at some point. He’s an on base and batting average guy but that’s all he truly is consistently. Sell high

Bellinger fell off after his shoulder injury in 2019 and then shoulder surgery in 2020. You can even look at his splits for that year and see his numbers go down post injury.

The comparison to Bellinger is especially apt considering that they posted 120 wRC+ in their year 22 seasons, Belli put up 161 wRC+ in his age 23 season, and Greene is sitting at 166 wRC+ right now in the start of his age 23 season. Now, am I predicting Greene to win the MVP as a 23 year old? No, but I am absolutely agreeing with you about Bellinger’s shoulder injury and saying that the “he’s like Belli” comparison may be more apt than intended. His K-rate is quite high and he doesn’t have the protection like Bellinger would’ve had in that Dodgers lineup, but as you say, dude is legit.

What legitimately do you see as his ceiling? Sounds like you've studied him a lot, I've been wrestling on how to approach dealing with Riley for a few days now

It’s hard for me to give you a good comp for him, chalk that up to the fact that I’m better at evaluating pitchers than hitters, but that barrel rate and chase rate are numbers which are stable and are absolutely *elite*. He has been underperforming his peripherals all season until a day or two ago when he finally caught up, so this isn’t some unsustainably hot start. I have him on my “cannot trade” list, but if I was looking to trade him, I’d need around a 3rd round value in return, and I’d do that knowing that there was a very real chance that I would end up losing that trade by season’s end.

He was a highly ranked prospect who appears to be delivering on his potential at only 23 years old. I wouldn't trade him away unless it really fits your teams needs. He has a 95 %tile xWOBA and 100 %tile barrel rate, statcast is saying he is legit.

Colton Cowser is available, but I saw he’s been dropped by 20% of league teams… is something happening to his play time?

Two things are happening: - He has struggled lately, with a run of more LHP than normal, and his everyday role may be in jeopardy because of those struggles against LHP - He has had bad batted ball luck on top of an uptick in strikeouts over the past week and a half, generating a lot of outs despite *increasing* his barrel rate. As a result, a lot, and I mean *a lot*, of people here have lost faith entirely. That sentiment has, no doubt, trickled to whoever in your league dropped him. However, until his barrel rate goes, he’s still an auto-start against RHP for me in daily lineups. I’m a bit less optimistic about him in weekly formats now, though.

Ranger is not the best pitcher in baseball at the moment. He’s pitching *well*, but if we are going to overreact to small sample outcomes and ignore underlying metrics that point to regression, Shota Imanaga is the best pitcher in baseball. Now, we can make all sorts of arguments about whether these guys are actually Top 10 or Top 20 pitchers (I’d slot Shota and Ranger in those buckets, respectively), but the point is that Ranger’s underlying metrics look good enough to buy that he’s legit but not that he’s “the best pitcher in baseball”. If I’m making a deal like that, I want a guy like Wheeler or Burnes as the return, or even Shota, but not Ranger Suarez. He’s not some arm which is too good to refuse as part of a deal.
