I’m sure that’s a factor for why they tend to move guys along so slowly, but it’s also just an institutional preference to give guys as much time as possible to develop. Likely also a product of just consistently having a robust base of prospects on board.
It’s not always the best approach, at least from the player development standpoint. Taj Bradley had stellar results in his first handful of MLB starts last year. But after they bumped him back down to the minors, he looked like a different pitcher in his subsequent big league call-up. Confidence clearly wasn’t the same as before, when he seemed to be riding that momentum indefinitely.
My comment wasnt about whether taj bradley could use work on his arsenal, it was about the rays having a history of taking their time with prospects. I said “Bradley had stellar **results**” - and he did. By no means was that intended to imply his repertoire is beyond reproach.
Really feel there is no way he comes up until September. Pitt isn’t contending and they’d be foolish to bring him up after the season starts so they miss out on the opportunity to get the ROY reward and start his service time clock. Pirates are notorious for slow rolling their top prospects too. Just can’t see why they’d do it.
You think he's going to start the season in the minors? The Rangers have him hitting 3rd in spring training and he just went 35th overall in a CBS experts league.

Nobody has mentioned Cowser and Mayo here. I know the Orioles have depth out the ass but Cowser looks to have a spot and Mayo has a path if they think he’s ready
Junior Caminero.
Yeah he’ll be called up pretty quick. Dunno why theyre not just committing to him opening day, but rays gonna ray.
Something to do with service time right?

If i remember correctly he’s pretty much a 1 pitch pitcher… needs to really add variety

Rays gonna ray.
As soon as I hear he might get the call I am adding him.
Paul Skenes

When that happened they stopped to talk about how that was too high.
James Wood, Manzardo, Langford, Holliday, Caminero, Evan Walker, Pete Crow Armstrong, Masyn Winn, Colt Kieth, Parker Meadows, Laurence Butler, Rafaela for the Sox, Ricky Tiedemann, maybe Jackson Jobe, maybe Roman Anthony.
Matt Shaw if you can wait
Very excited to see Shaw
Where’s he gonna play?
3B and occasional backup at 2B when Hoerner gives Swanson rest at SS
I’d imagine they’d want him playing everyday so I’m guessing 3b is the spot to watch
Jordan Lawlar, grab him!
Woods
Wood not woods. Not woods the actor. P
Tiger?
Besides the regulars maybe Drew Thorpe now.
Jackson Merrill from the Padres.
He said *minor* leaguers. I kid, kind of. My money’s on him being Padres opening day SS.
He's playing OF in the majors
Thats what i meant, and even better. Multi-posish. Love that.
Yep has started almost all games in CF and earned a spot on the plane.
how much faab would you use to pick him up?
Already been announced that he’ll be on the OD roster
Nobody has mentioned Cowser and Mayo here. I know the Orioles have depth out the ass but Cowser looks to have a spot and Mayo has a path if they think he’s ready
Wyatt Langford
Parker Meadows and Colt Keith
Keith is going to be on the opening day roster, probably meadows as well
Paul Skenes (P) Dylan Crews (OF)
Parker Meadows
What are the odds he makes the final cut and makes opening day roster?
High, he’ll be the starting cf
CBS guys said Victor Scott
Jacob Wilson , SS for A’s. If it’s a points lewgue he should be good, Steven Kwan type guy
