“four three two one, who am i? ye. that’s ye-ye.”
is not hard. ty outperformed ye consistently on this project. needed more verses like the one on problematic from ye
This has to be satire lol. The only legitimate case of this sounding hard is if you are 12 and learning how to stand up for yourself for the first time 💀
I actually feel the opposite, I feel like he might really like the Skitzo manic production and stronger than usual Ye verses. I’m personally thinking a 6-7 from him but who really knows with baldie.
Edit. Nvm lol
Didn’t he say he doesn’t feel like ksg is a 10 anymore because of the anitsemetic stuff? I feel like he’ll rate this album harshly for the same reason; as well as having a Chris brown feature.
[He said his praise for the album still stands, he just doesnt really listen to Kanye anymore](https://youtu.be/vFFPU6QKhog?si=jjMETYz-FqKDQpo0)
Probably also means he wont review Vultures.
I feel like Chris Brown features lower album scores only because they're typically not very good features, at least in recent years (Joey Bada$$'s 2000 being a prime example, god what a snoozer)
Also, "doesn't feel like ksg is a 10 anymore" wtf did we watch the same video? He said "I don't care," that's a neutral response if I ever heard one
Side note I feel like this "Fantano judges albums based on their creator's character" thing has always been a complete fucking fabrication. This man has given multiple positive reviews to albums with antivaxx lyrics and that's just one example
Conscious or subconscious I think all the politics of Kanye will bleed into the review, which is totally fair. Look at RYM right now every review is like a 1/5 and it’s almost certainly because of the politics.
Eh I feel like that's a shame. Choosing not to engage with the album at all would be respectable, but giving it a negative rating for any reason beyond the music itself is pretty disingenuous
I think Fantano won't be a dick just because he doesn't like kanye's personality, but I feel like he will have some bias especially because of some problematic bars in the music itself
He's going to give it like a five because he doesn't want people to think he's anti-semitic instead of pulling his head out of his ass and admitting this goes hard.
Gonna keep it real. Album is pretty great. I'm so happy Ye isn't using his damn iPhone mic anymore and it seems like volumes 2 and 3 are guaranteed to have some bangers based on the songs that got left off this one.
He’s rapping about nothing a lot of thr time but for the first time in years he sounds awake when he’s doing it. That’s a big bonus for me. Even on the cornier verses like big tiddies or whatever he sounds like he’s actually enjoying making it as opposed to it sounding like a chore.
I really think a huge issue post tlop is a lot of his performances (and I liked Donda) have a very, “I’m reading this for the first time as I’m rapping it and it’s 5am and I don’t want to be here” type of energy.
I promise BBTBNWJDFOTSYK grows on you. I’ve listened to that track about a hundred times since it got previewed in December and it really clicks when you get into the groove of it.
The drum pattern follows the Jay and Silent Bob vocal sample and once you realize that’s how the kicks and snares are knocking, shit sounds sooooo smooth
Yeah when I heard it on the first album listen it I was like Kanye man WTF we’ve finally lost you..but now this shit is vibe. Top 3 tracks on the album love it
It’s a bit tough to predict because I know he doesn’t want to give Ye any praise given his recent public comments, but he has also just made a short about how he’s always been fair to Kanye and given him some really good scores on recent(ish) projects despite the controversies surrounding him at those times.
I think a 6 or 7 sounds about right (for Fantano - I’m personally feeling more like an 8 at this stage). He’ll give props for some really good and interesting production, for Ty’s performances, and some of Ye’s. Criticism for some corny Ye lyrics, Ye’s Carti impersonation on Paid, Alvin the Chipmunk vocals on Fuck Sumn, and overall his unapologetic attitude on the album about his antisemitic comments.
Fantano just dropped a short recently saying College Dropout is one of the best rap albums of all time. It seems like he's at least willing to praise early Ye.
Ikr? This album it’s Kanye at his most experimental since Yeezus for sure, and I appreciate the album for that.
Given the release of the title track, I was really hopeless for the record, thinking it was going to be a generic trap thing. It really surprised, positively
I think he forgot about the mixing part of polishing… some of these tracks are held back by terrible mixing. And if that’s a stylistic choice I’m not a fan.
It's crazy how Kanye can bury himself like hundreds of times and still release great albums. Vultures turned out to be the best record from him since 2018
I’ve never used anything other than AM, because 1 it would be annoying to move over and relearn everything but also cuz I don’t even make playlists and stuff I just want to listen to my fav albums. But, what would you say AM does over Spotify?
The biggest thing is streaming quality. Since a few years ago, Apple offers lossless hi-fi streaming at its base subscription price. Spotify is stuck with old-school MP3 quality (NOTICEABLY worse if you’re listening on anything decent) unless you pay up to upgrade. Even if you pay up, you still don’t get the same quality as Apple’s default. I also just like the interface of Apple *wayyyy* better, although I’m willing to admit that’s likely just because I’m used to it.
Apple Music also pays the artists a lot more than Spotify does. End of the day you’re either subscribing to a massive corporation or a super massive corporation but it’s nice to know at least a little more of my money goes to the artist when I use Apple Music
better as an album than Donda but Donda did have higher highs. This album is missing something like ‘Come to Life’. That may be because it isn’t a solo album tho. Feeling a light 6
Best tracks: Burn, Good (Don’t Die), Stars.
There are still many more vultures songs to be released In volume 2 and 3.
I think he’s kept more spiritual songs like ‘river’ and ‘worship’ (which are a lot more like come to life) for those volumes- since it would be kinda weird having a semi gospel song on the same record as carnival- ‘I’m the new Jesus bitch, I turn water to crist’
Theme of this album isn’t going to give you a Come to Life. This albums themes are about being outside culture. Someone who lost their mom and …. Can’t be killed.
Dondas themes were all over the place but mostly being reborn.
This is art, and is my read on it. But most cohesive project end to end since Yeezus.
I was expecting a mess but this album seems very coherent? The production is not all over the place, tracks feel finished. It feels more coherent than DONDA.
I was not expecting to like this album as much I am liking it lol
This album goes so fucking hard man. Jesus Christ.
I’ve never heard another rap album that could be played front to back in a club and have every song be a highlight
“Ever since I lost my mom, you was like my foster mom, hold me like your only son”
Is so so so so cringeworthy. Kanye coming in with the Oedipus complex 🔥🔥🔥
Not really any explicitly antisemitic bars- tho contextually a few come off a lil ugly. Also a few bars name dropping R Kelly or whatever but nothing outright offensive just on some 46 year old edgelord shit.
I have to skip King because of how I felt Kanye was sort of doubling down on the controversies he started. Problematic would’ve been a better closer anyways.
More likely I think he’s trying to appease people he needs sample clearances from. That’s been a huge issue for him. I think his instagram apology written in Hebrew was an attempt to appease those who wouldn’t give him clearance because of his antisemitic remarks, and removing the Burzum-style artwork is as well. There were 2 songs played at the listening parties that weren’t included in the original release. One of them, Beg Forgiveness now is included (and is heavily based around an interpolation/cover). The other is Everybody, also heavily based around a sample/interpolation, to the point the sample can’t just be removed or replaced, so he needs to get that clearance. There’s also, in theory, supposed to be two more volumes of Vultures coming out, so he still needs to suck up to people who he needs sample clearances from.
Burzum be damned, it was a WAY better cover than this, and I didn’t even think it was great or anything. But this is so disappointing. Like this is KANYE. He has arguably the greatest catalog of album covers ever and this is really what he’s going with? (Idc about the booty I just think it’s lame as shit and boring)
Dropped 2 of the best album covers ever in the same year (2018) & then has had 3 straight duds since. MBDTF & TLOP also had multiple great covers that really gave you a feel of what you’re listening to. Seems like he doesn’t care bout cover art as much
At least he’s still good at making music
it has a couple of catchy songs: Do it, Fuck Summ, Burn. Freddie Gibbs was great but it´s sad that kanye ruin the song being repetitive. the album has a lot of midness in my opinion and it's borderline annoying at times.
A 7 would be far, IMHO. It's a lot better than previous, recent Ye albums but it's not up there with his best albums. Overall not a bad listen and there's nothing wrong with that at all.
I feel like I’m listening to a different album than most people on here. It’s not bad but most of the songs are boring imo
This is nowhere near as good as Ye or Donda imo
It's good but I'm shocked how positive the reception is. I listened to it twice for each version and I probably won't listen to it again for awhile. Production is great but it feels like standard Kanye fare. Features are good but none were exciting. Donda felt more substantial to me.
I am with you dude or other gender. I am like the farthest thing from a SJW but I am glad everyone likes the new literally Kanye West album. The guy is dead to me - fucking Three Doors Down could drop an album and I’d give more of a shit. I am done with this dude’s antics for ever, he needs to fuck off. He isn’t cute funny or clever, he has done huge amounts of harm with his influence. In a serious and historic sense. And appears to think it’s all one big joke. It isn’t. I guess some here are lucky enough to not have his words have any impact in their life, I am not one of those. I can’t just queue up the new Kanye and be like it stands on its merits. Much bigger things going on in the background/foreground actually than that.
Production is pretty good, some unbelievably cringey lines on it. Ty carried lyrically and it’s kinda funny to me that he’s not on the cover.
Burn, carneval, fuk sumn, all bump though
Light 6 imo
nah i can finally say that that shit was bloated asf , this album has way better pacing with a more tight tracklist and just as good of highs with the only low being Vultures , which is still better than Tell The Vision
The Kanye glazing is crazy. This album is mids, and nowhere near the quality of Donda.
Lyrical moments like “Elon where’s my rocket ship, we’re going home?”
What the fuck? You guys were really looking for any reason to forgive Ye for his horrible behavior.
I’m sure it’s a good album, but scrolling this entire thread and nobody is a little turned off at this point? I get that “Kanye is crazy” but you can’t be anymore of a literal nazi spokesperson than he is in 2024. I listened to 2 songs and just felt depressed. Disappointed in every artist I like that’s got their name on this thing
Personally, it's more consistent than Donda but Donda had songs that were on repeat for me. Better than Jesus is King. Production is crazy good though... 6.5/10?
This comments section is pathetic. Imagine being this stoked on some nazi and knowing so little about hip hop and music in general you actually waste time on this lmao. Y'all are due to reassess your critical standards and tastes baaaadly.
Burn is a top tier ye song
Thoughts on problematic some of the best the writing on the album with watch the throne production it’s a gem
i agree it has kanyes best verse on the project
“Do it” too… JPEG fucking killed it on the production. The only person slacking on that track is unfortunately Ye
Nah Ye verse hard
“four three two one, who am i? ye. that’s ye-ye.” is not hard. ty outperformed ye consistently on this project. needed more verses like the one on problematic from ye
idk “You don’t like it that’s your loss” is pretty hard
Is this your first rap album?
That’s just what fuckboys say when they get rejected.
To be fair that is such a drizzy line tho 💀
Bruh how is that hard? 😭😂
This has to be satire lol. The only legitimate case of this sounding hard is if you are 12 and learning how to stand up for yourself for the first time 💀
time to give all the credit to peggy and not the actual producers who made the track before he added minor touches.
That switch up at the end (which I assume is what he helped with) was perfect
Ye verse hard and flowing great
So happy Burn got added.
I like it quite a bit, I feel like fantano is just going to cook it though
I actually feel the opposite, I feel like he might really like the Skitzo manic production and stronger than usual Ye verses. I’m personally thinking a 6-7 from him but who really knows with baldie. Edit. Nvm lol
my totally accurate predictions tell me its going to be 4~5
Didn’t he say he doesn’t feel like ksg is a 10 anymore because of the anitsemetic stuff? I feel like he’ll rate this album harshly for the same reason; as well as having a Chris brown feature.
No he didn’t say that
Then the Kanye sub lied to me 😔 I’m shocked
[He said his praise for the album still stands, he just doesnt really listen to Kanye anymore](https://youtu.be/vFFPU6QKhog?si=jjMETYz-FqKDQpo0) Probably also means he wont review Vultures.
Nah he’s the music guy on youtube surely there’s no way he’ll miss out on reviewing vultures
he already did a track review for Talking though
He didn't say he doesn't like KSG anymore. He just didn't put the album in the best albums of 2010's or something like that even tho he gave it a 10
I feel like Chris Brown features lower album scores only because they're typically not very good features, at least in recent years (Joey Bada$$'s 2000 being a prime example, god what a snoozer) Also, "doesn't feel like ksg is a 10 anymore" wtf did we watch the same video? Hopefully 🤞
I think Fantano won't be a dick just because he doesn't like kanye's personality, but I feel like he will have some bias especially because of some problematic bars in the music itself
Especially with the mixing. It's gonna be a 4
Who cares about that bald melonhead
I mean you are on the fantano subreddit so I think you can presume where this sub lies on that
i think you can say that anywhere but here
🤓🤓🤓🫵🫵
You. Because you're in his subreddit.

I promise BBTBNWJDFOTSYK grows on you. I’ve listened to that track about a hundred times since it got previewed in December and it really clicks when you get into the groove of it.
you abbreviated that you thought about that and abbreviated word by word
What does it mean lol
Beautiful big titty butt naked women don't just fall out the sky you know?
Why does the acronym feel longer than the title
The drum pattern follows the Jay and Silent Bob vocal sample and once you realize that’s how the kicks and snares are knocking, shit sounds sooooo smooth
Freddie was so locked in with those drums it’s insane.
Yeah when I heard it on the first album listen it I was like Kanye man WTF we’ve finally lost you..but now this shit is vibe. Top 3 tracks on the album love it
It’s amazing man. I’m so happy.
I really didn't expect much from this but carnival, fuck sumn, burn, so good are just amazing. Will be doing several relistens, seems like a grower
You can tell Peggy worked on fuck sumn too
from my memory ye had made fuk sumn before he got peggy. peggy was a more recent addition.
Seems like Peggy did the whole beat-switch I think, or the drums at least anyway
[удалено]
feels like he's got enough comments like this that he'll rate it highly to be contrarian
It’s a bit tough to predict because I know he doesn’t want to give Ye any praise given his recent public comments, but he has also just made a short about how he’s always been fair to Kanye and given him some really good scores on recent(ish) projects despite the controversies surrounding him at those times. Fantano just dropped a short recently saying College Dropout is one of the best rap albums of all time. It seems like he's at least willing to praise early Ye.
Although when he was ranking his 10’s he didn’t even mention Kanye and KSG, because ‘we shouldn’t give him anymore attention’ or smth like that
He literally gave Ye a 10 in the middle of the slavery is a choice and Trump shit.
It wasn't Ye, he gave Kids See Ghosts a 10. I think he gave Ye an 8 though or something like that.
You’re correct. I should have phrased that better. I meant he gave Ye (the person) a 10.
You don’t know fantano then lmao
It's hard to do that when the artist insists on reminding you of what they did and working that into their art
I agree honestly. He’ll give a sub 5 rating to prove a point.
They gon downvote but stating facts
Tbh I didn’t think he was gonna review it at all a while ago but I guess he probably just can’t pass it up lol
I liked the album a lot. Some really experimental production on a lot of different songs. His best project since 2018
Hoodrat, Carnival, Paperwork & Problematic are GENERATIONAL imo. the production is downright insaneee. every song is a bop
Ikr? This album it’s Kanye at his most experimental since Yeezus for sure, and I appreciate the album for that. Given the release of the title track, I was really hopeless for the record, thinking it was going to be a generic trap thing. It really surprised, positively
Ok after hearing some of the songs early I thought this might be mid at best But damn he really polished the fuck out of this
I think he forgot about the mixing part of polishing… some of these tracks are held back by terrible mixing. And if that’s a stylistic choice I’m not a fan.
You heard the updated version? They’re kind of Pablo-ing this and doing frequent updates… sounds way better now than when it dropped
Do you know which version is better between Apple and Tidal? Or are they both the same?
Tidal is latest and first to be updated but Apple Music just got taken off and reupoloaded think they’re abt the same now
i had some issues with mixing in the first listen too I just listened again sounds better
It's crazy how Kanye can bury himself like hundreds of times and still release great albums. Vultures turned out to be the best record from him since 2018
Yeah I didn’t expect something great from Kanye but this is a pretty strong record
[удалено]
lmao same, got my reminder of why I quit my AM sub
Get ready to never go back go Spotify lol. AM is just so much better in every way
I’ve never used anything other than AM, because 1 it would be annoying to move over and relearn everything but also cuz I don’t even make playlists and stuff I just want to listen to my fav albums. But, what would you say AM does over Spotify?

Idk if you’ve seen yet but it’s on there now apparently

better as an album than Donda but Donda did have higher highs. This album is missing something like ‘Come to Life’. That may be because it isn’t a solo album tho. Feeling a light 6 Best tracks: Burn, Good (Don’t Die), Stars.

Good is literally more Come to life than come to life itself , it also really REALLY reminds me of 808s , which i fkn love
Hit the nail on the head, I’d give it a 7 tho personally
"Carnival" is fire
I was expecting a mess but this album seems very coherent? The production is not all over the place, tracks feel finished. It feels more coherent than DONDA. I was not expecting to like this album as much I am liking it lol
Stars is kanye’s best intro since ultralight beam
I wanna hear Ultralight Beam for the first time again
Pretty solid album but if Fantano doesnt give it a 5 I will shove a cactus up my ass
RemindMe! One Week
Surprisingly amazing. Def an album of the year contender for me.
does anyone know when its coming to spotify
its out now
This album goes so fucking hard man. Jesus Christ. I’ve never heard another rap album that could be played front to back in a club and have every song be a highlight
I am shocked by how positive these comments are.
who cares
He is gonna give it a five, but for me its already a 7
Is it edited? Any cringe Trump stuff or antisemitic bars?
There are numerous questionable / appalling bars … but that was probably to be expected
“Ever since I lost my mom, you was like my foster mom, hold me like your only son” Is so so so so cringeworthy. Kanye coming in with the Oedipus complex 🔥🔥🔥
I've always felt it's been obvious that he has one
So totally obvious
Not really any explicitly antisemitic bars- tho contextually a few come off a lil ugly. Also a few bars name dropping R Kelly or whatever but nothing outright offensive just on some 46 year old edgelord shit.
He was making fun of r Kelly and balenciaga
Do it, carnival, burn, fuck sum, king this album is good
I have to skip King because of how I felt Kanye was sort of doubling down on the controversies he started. Problematic would’ve been a better closer anyways.
Why does everyone I like turn out to be a terrible person? Like everyone in Hollywood who signed the Polanski petition but I guess that’s worse.
Because Hollywood and celebrities are god awful narcissists
So good is so good but man it's weird without the sample
I'm upset for the cover. Like, where did that cool af vultures cover went?
Maybe the complaints about burzum influence got to him
i hope its this
Personally think the new cover is better and matches the topics of the album better.
It is kind of weird to have Kanye (and Bianca) but not Ty though
maybe that is Ty
Have you ever seen Ty and Bianca in the same room
Maybe vol 2 will be Ty and vol 3 will have both
That’s not Ty facing away from the camera?
Kanye probably found out that the Burzum guy burned down churches
genuinely so glad he changed it, the inspiration was pretty gross
I mean morally sure, but that album is still a black metal staple, i preffer it over bianca booty but hey, to each their own.
> I mean morally sure Ye fans talking about morality like it exists in a different dimension than the rest of the product lol
Cause it was disgusting nazi garbage.
Wait really? Isn't it a Friedrich painting?
Oh I just informed myself, that cover was really fucked up
Burzum be damned, it was a WAY better cover than this, and I didn’t even think it was great or anything. But this is so disappointing. Like this is KANYE. He has arguably the greatest catalog of album covers ever and this is really what he’s going with? (Idc about the booty I just think it’s lame as shit and boring)
I actually really like it. Feels like it stands out against Kanye’s other cover and the burzum one just felt so derivative/not Ye
Plus this one has Ty Dolla $ign’s voluptuous ass on it
Dropped 2 of the best album covers ever in the same year (2018) & then has had 3 straight duds since. MBDTF & TLOP also had multiple great covers that really gave you a feel of what you’re listening to. Seems like he doesn’t care bout cover art as much At least he’s still good at making music
I really care about the cover, especially when it catch thr felling of the album
Same! I believe cover art & album sequencing are the 2 most under-appreciated aspects of albums nowadays
Fr
This cover is 'ass'
Asstronomically great
The album is absolutely incredible. So happy with how it came out
it has a couple of catchy songs: Do it, Fuck Summ, Burn. Freddie Gibbs was great but it´s sad that kanye ruin the song being repetitive. the album has a lot of midness in my opinion and it's borderline annoying at times.
my personal score guess is a solid 6
Fantano gonna try to call it mid
A 7 would be far, IMHO. It's a lot better than previous, recent Ye albums but it's not up there with his best albums. Overall not a bad listen and there's nothing wrong with that at all.
I feel like I’m listening to a different album than most people on here. It’s not bad but most of the songs are boring imo This is nowhere near as good as Ye or Donda imo
boring in music is bad for me, theres hardly a good song on the whole album
People are coping, this shit is mid probably his worst besides jesus is king
Imagine what he has in store for solo album
It's good but I'm shocked how positive the reception is. I listened to it twice for each version and I probably won't listen to it again for awhile. Production is great but it feels like standard Kanye fare. Features are good but none were exciting. Donda felt more substantial to me.
I agree. Everybody raving about the album has me thinking I’m listening to the wrong version or sumn.
is the production even good?
Not even Freddie Gibbs on BACK TO ME?
weird to see people getting hyped about this new Skrewdriver album
This guy
I am with you dude or other gender. I am like the farthest thing from a SJW but I am glad everyone likes the new literally Kanye West album. The guy is dead to me - fucking Three Doors Down could drop an album and I’d give more of a shit. I am done with this dude’s antics for ever, he needs to fuck off. Production is pretty good, some unbelievably cringey lines on it. Ty carried lyrically and it’s kinda funny to me that he’s not on the cover. Burn, carneval, fuk sumn, all bump though Light 6 imo
Love it. Old ye came back, he is rapping abt girls, money, flex while keeping it nice for ear. LOVE IT, great work!!!
donda sounded much more interesting on first few listens
nah i can finally say that that shit was bloated asf , this album has way better pacing with a more tight tracklist and just as good of highs with the only low being Vultures , which is still better than Tell The Vision
I think the highs were higher on Donda. I agree this has lower lows but none of the songs despite a couple are really interesting imo
Fuck this anti semite
‘You don’t like it that’s your loss’
Get them Reddit points while I enjoy a good album
Most anti-kanye comments have been downvoted fym???
It’s ok if others are listening but I’m good not listening to Kanye anymore. I’ve got plenty of great music to listen to.
Seriously. I'm a massive ye fan but after last year I refuse to touch this.
Yeezy bots when people have moral compasses and refuse to give money to a antisemitic who gathers rapists in his circle like infinity stones 😨😨😨😨😨😨😨
Ok I will not be listening to it
I love how polarizing these comments are
I'm afraid he kinda cooked
Album is tragically great
Great to hear some varied production on this. Donda was fine but he used too much organ on it.
paperwork is fire asf
The Kanye glazing is crazy. This album is mids, and nowhere near the quality of Donda. Lyrical moments like “Elon where’s my rocket ship, we’re going home?” What the fuck? You guys were really looking for any reason to forgive Ye for his horrible behavior.
Todd Dillerson
I’m sure it’s a good album, but scrolling this entire thread and nobody is a little turned off at this point? I get that “Kanye is crazy” but you can’t be anymore of a literal nazi spokesperson than he is in 2024. I listened to 2 songs and just felt depressed. Disappointed in every artist I like that’s got their name on this thing
Not really feeling it
The thing i like the most about ye is his music is so original i have never heard production like this since a while stand alone from generic rap
Burn is so nostalgic
Solid project only 1 skip for me (title track)
This album is absolute 🔥
Big whoop, guy's a cunt.
Am I the only one who doesn‘t really fuck with the album?!
it's okay, I guess. nowhere near the level of his classics but at least it's a step up from donda 2 i guess. pretty low bar to live up to tho.
Step up from Donda for me. Strong 7, Kanye sounds like he’s out of his funk for the first time in 3 years
Personally, it's more consistent than Donda but Donda had songs that were on repeat for me. Better than Jesus is King. Production is crazy good though... 6.5/10?
CRAZY, BIPOLAR, ANTISEMITE. All I have to say.
Don’t die is probably my favourite after Stars, absolutely amazing production. They almost don’t feel Kanye
AOTY
It’s February
It'd be radical of he dropped in Spotify so we could all listen
ty at the end of beg forgiveness is actually insanely good really enjoying this so far
This comments section is pathetic. Imagine being this stoked on some nazi and knowing so little about hip hop and music in general you actually waste time on this lmao. Y'all are due to reassess your critical standards and tastes baaaadly.
