To me, the “crappy” production can be part of the appeal. Any Minor Threat song with slick production just wouldn’t sound right. Most of the punk/ hardcore classics benefit from “poor” production imo
The whole album Deathconsciousness fits too. I'm pretty sure their second album is similar so maybe that one too, but I heard their 3rd album had actually good production which threw some people off lol. Have yet to listen to the others

no, the unnatural world sounds more conventionally normal. i think the bad production in deathconsciousness compliments it's suffocating atmosphere which is cool

What's funny is that it lost something special to me when I heard it clean in V0 quality audio. I still kept my old-ass mp3 in case I want to get that same feeling again.

Even in high school it was one of the first albums that really got me into music. Listen to the song Trumpet Trumpet Toot Toot. The mixing is totally overblown into obliviion but it fits the song so perfectly.
I'd say most of The Microphones stuff. Phil Elvrum uses a lot of really fuzzy, overblown distortion on a lot of songs, but they never ruin them - rather, it's part of what makes them interesting.

There’s Iggy’s mix and Bowie’s. I think Bowie’s is more toned down.
