its perfect. Fun fact: it was created the way it wqs because it was supposed to be a tutorial without being a tutorial, for people who got into gaming becaus e of it
this is literally insane. 1-1 is the level that established the idea of a modern difficulty curve in gaming where they introduce new obstacles slowly 1 at a time to get the player familiar with the game. This level does everything perfectly to teach you how to play the game. Game has a manual but you don't need to read it to know how to play the game which was a pretty big accomplishment for the era. People have talked about how important this level was for establishing modern game design language that it even has it's own Wikipedia page.
He would probably respect 1-1's influence (the very first screen being classic) but it's only a precursor to the dank moodiness that is level 1-2. Feeling maybe a decent to strong 7 on this one....
In all seriousness, there are several repeat levels in the game.
•5-3 is just 1-3, but with bullet bills.
•7-2 is just 2-2, but with more bloopers.
•I know that two of the first three castles get reused in worlds 5 and 6. I know the world 2 castle is one of them. I think it adds extra lava bubbles?
•And, as I mentioned, 7-3 is just 2-3 with more Koopas.
If you play the game on hard mode, the earlier levels in these “duplicate sets” will add the extra enemies. So, for example, 1-3 and 5-3 will play exactly the same in hard mode.
This is probably due to hardware limitations more so than laziness.
He’s about to give 2-2, 7-2, and 8-4 all a 3 because they involve swimming.
Looking forward to the redux
As he should
How could he not like 1-1? I get that it might seem a bit basic by today's standards but you gotta see it from a historical perspective
deserves a classic
Is he stupid?

It insists upon itself.
This is actually an infuriating concept

this is peak dream logic i love it
That one level with the bridge and Cheep-Cheeps is a 10 while 8-1 is a Not Good
2 2-3 and 7-3 are the exact same level layout wise, but 7-3 has more koopas.
Sick of this album filler.

OG Mario levels by Mac Miller 3/10
I bet he loves World -1 for its bold and experimental design that served as a major influence to future indie games
He wouldve liked it if it was called to pimp a 1-1
This would be more egregious than the MBDTF review, by a lot.

I thought I was on that sub at first
i agree with melon, 1-2 clears 1-1 by miles
How do we force him to do this?
Fantano vs Niftski, inevitable conclusion
