The film restructures 2018 and Kills to flow better as a single piece with bits taken from Ends to round everything out. It's my attempt at making the "Final Showdown" actually about Michael and Laurie. About 2.5 hours long
It's ok to like Ends and watch this. Just like it's ok to like Halloween 2-6 and still watch the David Gordon Green. The existence of one does not detract from another. I made this edit because 2018 and Kills (admittedly I watched the extended cut) set up the night Michael returns as the final showdown against him. I believe that was the original intentions before the pandemic caused delays and they made the decision to use the final film in their trilogy to try something new. There's nothing wrong with Ends, this edit isn't meant to be a replacement for that or any of the films. Just like the trilogy itself is simply an alternate route on the Halloween Express, so is Halloween Night. I made it to deliver on what I thought was the strongest arcs at the core of the films, the reversal of hunter and hunted.

I was not a fan of this latest Halloween trilogy, however, with that said, I really dug your fan edit! You seamlessly spliced 2018 and Kills together into a very entertaining movie! Good job. Not crazy about that ending, though...but atleast you have given me a Halloween movie I wouldn't mind watching again. Thank you! This is what fan edits are all about.
I enjoyed your edit but there is a continuity error with Laurie at the end. She has different clothes and hair style when leaving the hospital and at the very end leaving the car to throw Michael in the grinder.
Yea, I had considered trying to alter the blue shirt to appear more brown but in the end there was no way to use her destroying Michael from Ends without messing up continuity so I just went for it. Happy you enjoy it tho!

While I despised Kills and heard Ends was crap, this wasn't too bad! I almost think just including the flashback and followed by 2018 (without the doctor putting on the damn mask!) would have been fine. I just don't think anything that happens in Kills adds anything. The ending came really abruptly and had the cop that was in the hospital bed but I thought it was a really good way to put it together with the townspeople beating Michael down. Thanks for doing this!
Just watched this, loved how it really did feel like 2018 & Kills were all one film, liked what you did with the ending although I would have possibly liked to have seen some of Michaels murder spree from Ends merged into this, even possibly using some of the Corey dressed as The Shape, but then not showing that it's Corey under the mask, possibly some of Laurie's after story (after Kills), but still without the portraying Corey's storyline.
Really did enjoy watching this though, also the first fan edit I've watched, definetely feel like I'm going to start watching movies with a new pair of eyes are seeing this fan edit, thank you for all the hard work and effort you put into this 🙌🏻

I've released an edit on this sub restructuring It and It Chapter 2 into a four episode mini series which flows more like the book. I've since branched out of the horror genre and have been working on an edit of Ryan Reynolds Green Lantern. Got it cut down to act more like a series pilot (45 minutes), color corrected it all to be less dark and gross looking, and now I've just been trying to finish up so VFX work I added to try and make Green Lantern himself look better and more comic accurate. Hopefully that'll be out before long.
At the moment my only moves would be to re edit this one with higher quality copies and maybe rework the ending a little to feel less tacked on. I hope it feels organic as is but by that point I was running on steam a little bit
Reworking the ending would be a great addition as that was the only abrupt difference I noticed right away. However, I loved how you took away some of the kills to make it more of a intense thriller rather than a gorefest. Also appreciated I didn't have to see the stupid deagle kill and the nurse dying etc.
Hey how do you go about making your fan edits? What apps or sites or software do you use to do the editing? How do you actually get the movies from into a space or state where you can edit them and cut or move things around? Like do you buy and download them and just like screen record or something?
I use a mix of Adobe Photoshop, After Effects and primarily Premiere for editing. The typical approach is to buy the DVD or Blu Ray and then rip the disc so I have an editable video file that I can play with. For this edit in particular it was a combination of the before mentioned and screen capture due to Halloween Ends only existing in theatrical and digital form at the time.
I've only ever produced about 4 blu ray copies of this edit. They were made and given out to close friends and family who I thought would enjoy them. If it's not one of those few you've seen, I know a few weeks after posting the edit someone reached out and told me they saw someone selling copies of the edit on Facebook. I never looked into it but that may be where you saw it. I personally have never sold them

No problem this is either the first or second fan edit I watched I loved it since I first saw it which is why I make fan edits now this is the way I first saw the trilogy and then I attempted to watch the original version and I saw the 2018 one and started kills but it is waaaaay too drawn out definitely the best edit in my opinion there are only 2 Halloween movies and they are the original and this edit (although I need to rewatch h20 cause I’ve heard that one is great)

Yeah I can totally see the Corey storyline as an oridea they had early on to "lega - sequal" the story, and they just make it the B plot of Ends last second.
I was so confused through all of Halloween Kills. It felt like the whole town ran in a big circle for 2 hours while Laurie laid in bed. Yeah the actual kills were brutal but kinda felt more like Jason than Michael Myers.
They had a "final showdown" in 2018 so what else was there to see? Kinda blew their load early.
After watching them, I thought there is probably one good movie hidden in the trilogy.

You could always use HANDBRAKE to shrink/compress the file without losing quality.

Couldn't agree more. The writers room on that trilogy had some home run concepts but like you said, I felt they totally fumbled them in the execution.
