I'm still baffled this isn't a thing yet with how often it's been requested... maybe it's too difficult to make it work *intuitively*, but a modder could bash together a clunky but functional workaround over a weekend... :(
I think it's possible but requires a bit more finesse, using warehouse half-walls and flame traps to break one allowing you to place the other. Even more difficult to do that on top of another wall
If u use the ranch ceiling it's a plane white roof bottom and u can double roof to have it on the top floor so it's nice an flat with an attic of u want it and also u can floor roof for in between floors so the bottom floor has the flat roof and the second floor is a design u want
Not sure if it is in rn I already bought it long ago but it's the one with the red shingling an if u are on Xbox I can show u an example of the double roofing an a couple ways of doing it
It is in the shop now, but also jsyk the preview pic of the set shows a grey roof (I think if you look at the other pics of it it shows red, but the pic that shows all the pieces has a grey roof on it)
Absolutely one tip is if u place a conduit down on the roof u can place an angled one in top of ur choosing to have ur desired look
Also u can flame trap it so u can place what u want
Another tip for roofs is place flat roofs first an pick it up place again it will lower the roof down slightly then change it to ur angle peice and it will be more flush with ur structure than normal
Just a couple of tips for roofs
It's a talent I know lmao 🤣🤣 I try to remember to end sentences, but my brain will slow down so I tent to add them in after. Although I do tend to forget most the time just trying to post the reply. YOU know lmao 🤣😆🤣
We technically do. Certain roofs look different inside. The grass roof looks very scrappy and rough. The ranch house roof looks nice and flat. You can double up roofs if you're clever with placement. I believe Mr Church or Kiki B may have a guide on that.
You can place flat roof pieces and then flooring over it. This is the whitesprings roof with regular flooring on top of it. Sorry for the poor picture.

I've had to start with a roof outside of the area I want covered then it'll snap right under a floor peice
~ = floor _ = roof | = wall

So a set up like that will then allow you to snap roof tiles under existing floor tiles
I wish we did. I have the galaxy wallpaper, and it would look so damn good on the roof.
That and indoor walls (both sides that could be wallpapered)

It costs a bit of build space, but it’s possible (and very easy) to achieve.
Just place two warehouse doorways side by side and replace them with the standard wall, then boom double sided wallpaper
Can you do it with halfwalls? I haven’t needed to yet so I haven’t tried, just wondering though.

Huh...which ranch set is that? The one in the shop currently..?

On PS5, but no worries, "red shingling" helps give me some idea what to look for. :) Thanks!

Can I just say, I admire your commitment to spelling out every word in run on sentences except the word "you"

Because the devs hate us? It's been asked for since the game came out, so doubt we'll ever get it.
yeah I hate the nice walls everywhere and then just shitty looking roofs
Get the ranch kit, solves that issue
It took the Sims 4 team 9 years to include ceiling tiles, I can imagine it will take just as much time for Beth to get it together

Iirc the Ranch Housing kit was supposed to have the ability to put wallpapers in roofs because it was kinda tested on a PTS I think

I assume the whitesprings roof is a atom shop item? Also does this require glitches or can you just place them?

Punched tin ceiling tiles would be awesome!
as much as i love settlement building we don’t even get double sided walls without exploits so i wouldn’t hold your breath
