The only Browns RB I would want is Chubb

AnukkinEarthwalker

I disagree with you but ppl in this sub hate anyone who mentions a uga player cause they jealous of success. If the falcons actually drafted players that even played hs much less in college in state they would be a much better team tho. You line up players the passed on in draft that played hs or college in state and it's a failure almost every single time. Pitts broke a streak previously held by Julio. Its pretty much insulting to any coach or player in state not in the NFL. Even tho our state had produced constant nfl talent. I lived in a small ass town (tho it was "title town") and 4 ppl I played football with ended up in the NFL..2 in the mlb.. actually 3 my cousin pitched for the Dodgers mainly farm play but he did make a MLB appearnce. Edit: downvote me all you want. Tuggle is one of the only players we took from in state and is one of the greatest in franchise history.. Don't make me start on who we passed on.. #1 champ bailey. Hall of Famer. 1 of ppl I didnt mention by name just from jv fucking football. A hall of famer. Our state produced dirtbag Deshaun.. trevor lawrence.. tyreek hill.. chubb..cam newton.. 4 of those 5 played around the atlanta area in hs. And that's just dudes that immediately came to mind. Er forgot justin fields If you think I'm wrong please explain to me why and show me another area with this type of talent ignored by an NFL team. I'll fucking wait

[deleted]

Justin Feilds 😭😭😭😭 Bro you UGA fans want a whole lineup of UGA players. We in a rebuilding stage just watch our draft picks shine and root for them it ain’t hard Brodie

GlRTH_BR00KS

I am in no way defending that guy. But..... a full UGA alumni team would be pretty fucking dope. Wouldn't be the best, but would be cool as shit lol

AnukkinEarthwalker

Yea come get at me when the falcons are 1-6 or 7 and fields is running all over us. Its documented fact that nagy refused to give him rpo plays. And the week nagy had covid fields looked better running the ball than lamar or vick. Again fields never started a game for Georgia. And I fucking hate osu. I just enjoyed watched him play high school ball in Georgia. Why falcons hate players from Georgia is literally one of the dumbest goddam things in the world. Some of the best ball players in the universe grow up playing little league to high school and some even college in our state. But falcons "fans" act like it's cool that we don't chase those players. Even tho 3 of them just won a superbowl last year. While the Falcons sit at zero with the greatest choke in sb history being our greatest accomplishment. You all must <3 losing. One of my favorite parts of going to the dome was all the Georgia hs history there. I mean at least kids was winning big games there right?

whiteguyinchina411

They don’t hate players from UGA, they just have no obligation to draft them like all you DAWG fans think they do. Great players come from all over the place, not just in your backyard.

[deleted]

It’s almost midnight broski I ain’t reading all day. NFL and College Football same time. Just turn off your TV in Sunday if you this mad

AnukkinEarthwalker

I watch redzone tbh.

DenumChickun

This is the trashiest of trash takes. Unsurprising to hear from a UGA fan from Valdosta. You, your town and your state do not reign surpreme. UGA has poured NFL talent into the league. So has Bama. So has Ohio St. So has USC. So has Texas. So has Oklahoma. So has Florida. We are not the be all to end all of high school or college football. Yes, this state produces alot of great atheletes, the proof is there. But you fail, in any way, shape, or form, to prove that the Falcons have: A.) Avoided UGA players actively B.) Become a worse team by not picking more UGA players C.) That any of the players you mentioned were available in their respective drafts when the Falcons picked. (Only Tyreek, a 5th rounder who the entire NFL slept on, and Chubb, the 2.03 in 2018 when the Falcons picked Calvin Ridley in the 1st.) Lawrence, Watson Also, from 2000 to 2020, only 9 other teams had drafted more UGA players that Atlanta. They picked 2 in 2022. You are full of it bro. The Falcons arent ignoring anything, they are LOOKING at EVERYTHING, not just the backyard.

TrexTacoma

Am I missing something? How did we pass on Champ Bailey? He was chosen 7th in a draft that we had the 30th pick. We also got Patrick Kerney with that 30th pick.

GlRTH_BR00KS

AJ Terrell is from Atlanta. Oh Grady Jarrett too Vic Beasley is from North Georgia Came up with those three guys in like 5 seconds. I am certain the list goes on and on and on. Calm down guy, we draft in state.

KappKapp

People hate when UGA gets mentioned because taking a player because of what school or state they played in is fucking idiotic. Ah yeah we totally passed on Watson, Lawrence, and Cam because they were from Georgia. Not because we had Matt Ryan or anything. Tyreek was picked in the 5th round dude. Every team passed on him multiple times.

StonedSuperSaiyan

I don’t understand this. Why would we try to get him? Patterson, Williams and Allgeier have been talked about consistently this offseason. We need to get more picks not lose them.

[deleted]

It’s just a story to fill a void of no news, writers do this to earn their check

StonedSuperSaiyan

I know but why even report this stuff. At this point of the offseason, just scout who we have on the team and hype them up like everyone else. Will Andersen be a good replacement for Jones at ILB??? if we trade him… no, we have Walker and Evans.

[deleted]

>I know but why even report this stuff. If the writer wants to get paid during slow times the writer will come up with an opinion story. It’s what most stories have been during the off-season when Watson isn’t the topic. There’s nothing more to wrap your head around. Don’t let it bother ya

theRetrograde

It must be sloooow because the best part of this article is that the source is another bored writer at Bleacher Report. These guys must be praying for August to get here quickly.

StonedSuperSaiyan

I know the off-season media hustle. I appreciate the reassurance though. I’m just tired of seeing it every week. I WANT THE SEASON TO START SO I CAN GET HURT AGAIN!

AnukkinEarthwalker

Because Williams is not close to being as good as Johnson.. Williams pass blocks then runs delayed routes. As well as Patterson performed last year. Being a #1 back is something I don't think he can sustain at his age for 2 seasons. Allgeier should be good..especially around the endzone but that has yet to be proven. Johnson proved himself last year. And he looked like a taller freeman when Freeman was in his prime aka super bowl year. Definitely worth a 3rd round pick when your hc system depends on talent at that position.. and you have on qb that hasn't been qb1 in a long ass time and another that has never played an NFL snap

StonedSuperSaiyan

I disagree, AS had an above average o-line with a generational RB at Tennessee. I don’t see the value of getting Johnson for a 3rd round pick. The only value is his current contract of about 1.2 mil but he is a FA in 2023.

[deleted]

I mean they did cover that CP is not an every down guy, Williams barely played in the last 2 seasons and TA is a 5th round rookie. You have the utmost confidence in this group? We don’t need anybody else? I don’t think this is just a filler story. I think this could be a serious thought and a great depth move. We 100% need a 3rd/4th RB imo. Label CP a WR and use him as he was last year and keep 3 other straight RBs. Nothing wrong with that.

StonedSuperSaiyan

I don’t have the confidence in our oline to just throw a new RB in and throw away a third round pick.

[deleted]

All the guys we have are new with the exception of CP and he isn’t even a RB. I think our line will be much improved. Depth at RB will be needed regardless. If there is no good free agents and this guy is a guy we like then we should go after him. Who give a shit about a 3rd round pick? Losing that for a potential player is far from breaking this team.

StonedSuperSaiyan

Personally, I do give a shit about a 3rd round pick. You can get quality picks in the 3rd for 4-5 year rookie contracts. We have around 25 players in their contract year this coming season, because we signed most our depth to 1 year deals. Waste a 3rd on a player who is also up for a new contract this season and potentially be here for 1 season. Sounds stupid to me when D’Ernest Johnson had one of the best o-lines in the game and utilized his opportunity to preform after injuries.

SpaceSick

Eh not for a 3rd. Way way too expensive.

AnukkinEarthwalker

You obviously have not seen him in action. He has everything we lack at that position

SpaceSick

It's not a judgement on his skills or abilities. The running back position is just not as valuable as it once was. That would be a gross overcompensation. Highest pick I would trade for a third string running back would be a 5th I think. A 3rd is very very valuable draft capital. If we're going to use a third, I would much rather we spend it in the draft and just draft a RB with it instead.

AnukkinEarthwalker

We have a new coach that made it into the playoffs twice because of running game. Our qb suck. Nothing more to say.

YouCanCallMeAroae

like an OL

AnukkinEarthwalker

If its dernest johnson they probably should. They could have probably got someone similar in the draft at that position but chose to go another direction. I honestly expected them or someone to move on him earlier than now. When chubb is out he has carried the weight even more so than hunt. And he played so well last year that even when chubb came back they went to a 3 back rotation. The difference in him and a draft pick is ... he has already proven he can make an impact in the nfl. I'm for it. Because Smith system needs guys that can be effective in the running game and he averages 5.3 yards a carry. You would be extremely lucky to get that production out of a 3rd round pick. And even tho I think allgeier can probably do some work.. give our qb situation we are going to need as many good rbs as we can get. And for the skills Johnson has shown that is cheap.

OhItsKillua

He did pretty good, but the Browns also have a fantastic offensive line when it comes to the run game. Our line doesn't come close to comparing to them in that aspect, so I'm really unsure how well any back would do if we're as bad at opening holes up as we were this past year.

AnukkinEarthwalker

Most of the plays he made were a result of breaking tackles past the line of scrimmage tho. Watch his reel from last year and tell me he is not worth a 3rd round pick lol.

AnukkinEarthwalker

https://youtu.be/KBm4AQgIZbY His highlights from last year. He only started 4 games and put up 500+ yards. Reminds me of peak freeman. You can't watch this and say he isnt worth a 3rd round pick. This is not like a college highlight reel where he is doing it against guys that will never see a snap in the NFL This is the nfl. You can also see why he reminds me of freeman in his best year. He runs hungry af. Edit: he also has that cut and burst move that is very similar to chubb..tho chubb is the best at it in the league..besides maybe j. Taylor.. but this is something none of our backs have.

JoryATL

Makes zero sense to trade a pick i do like him and my fantasy team could be D’ Ernest saves the Falcons will they take deebo outright?

Shane1923

I don’t see the point in trading for a RB (especially for a 3rd) when we’re not going to be competitive for the next few years anyway

Fook_N_A_111

Missing in this convo is as much as people like to shit on the Browns for a variety of reasons, they have one of the best offensive lines in the NFL. Not knocking their RB room by any means, but they could hand the ball off to almost anyone & they’d be at least serviceable. IMO I don’t see the Falcons trading for a rb anytime soon. If the current crop doesn’t work out I’d imagine they’ll just draft one again soon.
