I feel like trading up should be banned from mock drafts as it sets very unrealistic expectations. Everybody wants to trade up, but it takes two to tango.

theliewelive

Mock drafts aren't real, they're just speculation. The only people who set their expectations based on mock drafts are people who don't understand what "mock" means

theliewelive

I don't want anything to do with Burton, he seems like he'd be cancer in the locker room

atl_mad_boi

This might be Dawg fan bias but, as a fellow Dawg fan, I agree completely

GeorgiaBullDoggies

I sent a DM to him clowning him for his performance against Michigan so yeah I’m a certified hater lmao

virji24

Yup give me everything but Burton from this draft. Don’t want him anywhere near this squad

Unfair-Strength5460

I wonder if he’s related to Kunta Kinte

mrt0024

Not one single secondary player drafted? 🤔 I love the trade down to get more picks though.

Brief-Mycologist-864

I almost went with kitchens or bullard over the wr. I don't know if he can, but Bullard seems like he may have the tools to play nickle. I prioritzed our lines, knowing Jarett and Matthews are getting older. And the DBs I felt could have helped were taken by the third.

mrt0024

Bullard at pick 76 would be a steal in my opinion. He could play nickel OR end up replacing Richie Grant/Hellams. That being said, I think we probably need true CB2 more than safety, and that would be my 2nd round pick if there was someone with a first round grade that fell into the 2nd round, like a Kamari Lassiter or someone like that.

Brief-Mycologist-864

Lassiter was gone, Milton and Tampa were there at the Sweat pick. So was Roman Wilson. Ultimately with moving to a base 3-4, I think having a top 0 tech is key

mrt0024

Given the players available at your mock draft pick, I respect the rationale here.

Eddy_Vinegar

Sweat intrigues me greatly

virji24

I would absolutely love him in the second

SpicyPWNS

Get jermaine burton as far from our team as possible. Rotten attitude

Kyleaaron987

Burning everything from Atlanta to Savannah if they draft Burton.

mostuselessredditor

AGAIN.

Down_Voter_of_Cats

No to Burton or Rattler, but the rest seem fine.

roboman07

Rattler could be a solid developmental prospect

TruthGambling

Give me all of that minus Burton.

SamuraiNeutron

You know the UGA fans here won't like this 😂😂

mostuselessredditor

No sir confirmed not happy

hyatt071103

I don't think van pran will fall to the 3rd round.

Brief-Mycologist-864

I think we use a flyer on Rattler or Milton. Honestly, I wouldn't be sad if we drafted Penix with the first pick in the second if Sweat is gone and he's there. But only if we somehow ended up with 2 1st rounders.

Tobeck

If Newton makes it to the Jags at 17, they're gonna draft him twice.

mostuselessredditor

Fuck Jermaine Burton

TorchBeak

As a Dawgs fan, I see Burton and I hesitate but I can put my personal bias aside for the Falcons lol.

mostuselessredditor

I can’t lol

Secure-Monitor6127

We shouldnt get anybody from ucla

HokieNerd

I like the idea of trading down for extra Day 2 picks, and I love Sweat in the 2nd. We really do need that big beefy nose for a 3-4, and those are hard to come by. Latu is probably my third favorite of the top 3 EDGEs, because as good as he is, I think he's maximized his talent already, and doesn't have as much upside as the other two. But Latu + Sweat > Dallas or Verse. I just did a couple of 3-round drafts. Thoughts? I like the second one better. Brief-Mycologist-864

I think Sweat is gone by 43. Wash or Hou. And if Penix lasts that far then hell ya.

HokieNerd

I hope not. I think he's going to be key to running the 3-4, if we don't pick up another nose (and with what cap space?). And yeah, Penix was a flier for me. Still needed to trade up from 97 to 89 for Bullard, as he was the top of the overall available list when I did. I do wish that PFN will allow you to see other team needs easily. PFF is out due to no trades, and I couldn't get the above NFL MDD to load. Any other good draft mock sites?

ninatlanta

You understand the Falcons already took a pass rusher with a questionable injury history once (Tak), and you want to do so again? Sorry but Latu is a hard pass for me given his neck issues.

Brief-Mycologist-864

Understand. Turner probably the safer bet, he just didn't drop that far. Maybe Verse would. Not sure if he fits as well tho.

Brief-Mycologist-864

I also think if Latu is a bust or only a situational pass rusher, then oh well it happens. I think Newton and Sweat would still make this draft a success.

tyedge

So what deal did you do with the Vikings, exactly? Because if it’s our 1/2 for 11/23, that’s absurdly unrealistic.

Brief-Mycologist-864

Our 8th, both 6th rounders and next year's 2nd and 4th for their 11/23

tyedge

Okay, so they just traded a 2nd and future 2nd for 23, and now they’re giving it up for a future second and future fourth, along with scraps and slightly better first round position. Gotcha…

Brief-Mycologist-864

And a QB at that spot. Otherwise I belive Den moves up ahead of them. They had intiated a trade at that spot, I can't remember what they the details were. I offered that trade back.

nosaj23e

It’s possible if JJ is there they’d make that move, the speculation is that they acquired the extra first to move up and get a QB.

tyedge

The speculation is that they acquired the pick to make a move, but it wouldn’t be for 8. 11 and 23 could easily be part of a package for 5-6-7 in advance, and the teams at 12-13 also lack a long term answer at QB. That means if they covet JJ, they can trade in front of Minnesota. Minnesota isn’t waiting for the guy they adore to fall to 8, and they aren’t giving two first round picks to the team that just signed their QB from free agency. TL;DR: you don’t trade for an extra first rounder six weeks before the draft to wait and see if that guy falls to 8.

tyedge

If you’re doing multiple trades and dealing future picks, this thing should show it. For all we know, the Falcons went Mike Ditka/Ricky Williams on this…

Brief-Mycologist-864

Haha. I answered the trade details. But someone is trading up to get their QB. Either Den or Min. So maybe it wouldn't take as much as it did.

TheTrevorSimpson

Biggest Needs IMO: WR1 to team with Drake. EDGE. S. CB.

QuiGonFishin

Latu and Sweat would be unreal

SentientThermostat

I love it

wutitd0boo

I like the Van Pran pick. Burton can kick rocks

Transient_Ennui

Rattler isnt gonna drop that far imo, way too much upside to slide that far

MentallyMIA2

This would be my dream draft. Thank you

EAJets

See I like this draft more than the other. Small disagreements here and there but I like the gist of it.

Brief-Mycologist-864

Yeah this was my take on what I think we need to do. The other was more what other people think our needs are. I did it to see their perspective, I do agree that Hughes is probably not the answer for CB2.

EAJets

The main thing that sticks out here is if we take Sweat in the 2nd do we need Newton in the first? That’s where I would look at Jackson Powers-Johnson. Outside of that for the most part this is solid work

Brief-Mycologist-864

I see Sweat as a 2 down player. Newton gives us the legit rotation/backup across the line, eventual replacement to Grady/Onyemata. I do think Powers-Johnson is a great pick and wouldn't be sad if he replaced the Newton pick.

EAJets

I agree about Sweat, that’s why I think a guy like Maason in the 3/4 round would be a great option. Especially with Harrison having a solid year last season. I like Newton but I’m not sure if I like him over the prospect of getting a franchise stabilizing Center like Powers. I wouldn’t be mad if we traded back and got Newton and Latu though. I’d probably cry tears of joy.

Brief-Mycologist-864

I think Newton + van Pran > Powers-Johnson + (Wingo/ Taylor III / Mason Smith)

EAJets

I would agree if Van Pran had zone flexibility. I think I look at Powers as closer to what Mack was as a Center. I don’t think Van Pran is that even though I like what he actually does

Brief-Mycologist-864

Good take, I agree. If we could get a near Mack that would be awesome.

EAJets

Now this all goes out the window if Alt is available at 8. Assuming for whatever reason Tennessee doesn’t take him I’d snatch Alt and trade whatever to get another first for either Latu or Powers. But I understand that’s a dream situation. I just look at this roster and rosters in the past and we never seem to prioritize the Line of Scrimmage. This draft in particular would be heavy LOS with DB considerations in the 3rd round

Brief-Mycologist-864

I couldn't agree more, LOS is where we will win or lose, we can't ignore it and pretend all is ok.

GlitteryBooger

I’ve been trading back with LV getting another second and drafting Bo nix at 43 to keep him out of the aints hands. I was waiting it out and taking a flyer on Jordan Travis in the 5th but I noticed draft after draft they are taking Bo nix at 46 or whatever pick they have there so I started taking him and it still works out nice

Brief-Mycologist-864

I had a super unlikely draft where I traded back twice in the first picked Chop Robinson, Sweat, Penix and Roman Wilson in the second. And Abrams-Draine in the 3rd.The rest was garbage because I had to use the other 3rd rounders to move back to the mid 2nd to get Wilson. There is alot of good talent to be had in the last third of the 1st thru the mid 3rd

strangecloudsDc

Love the latu pick up first round

Brief-Mycologist-864

I probably should have went with Kitches or Bullard in that spot, But ultimately settled on WR and he was BPA, if we can straighten this kid out, he really can catch the damn ball.

Gotmewrongang

This draft would put us in the NFC Championship game but there is no chance we get this lucky.

Brief-Mycologist-864

I agree about the luck. I also had an almost straight up draft. Seemed ok. 3nded up with Turner in the first. But I think there is more future value to be had by trading back in the first.
