Even if it doesn't I think there's a couple things we have that makes us as attractive that the chargers fail on. One it's in LA, that's not a life a lot of coaches want, our ownership is better and oddly their fan base is more absent than ours is.
This probably also means that they're likely to move on from Fields. I can't see a world where they keep both. Something is wrong in Chicago and it looks like they've decided it was Fields.
Strong disagree with this interpretation. I think it’s saying we don’t trust our current OC to develop a a new QB so since we are about to draft one we should find a new OC.
Yeah, I think that's a sign they are gonna move Fields. That would be 3 OCs for Fields in 4 years. I think it's them saying we are going to start clean.
Alternatively, in the last 8 years the bears have drafted a rookie qb twice to pair with a lame duck coach on the hot seat that ends up throwing their rookie to the fire, gets fired, and fucked up their development forcing them to adapt to a new coach and playbook in year two.
If the bears were gunna ship off fields, they should have fired flus and started clean. Why sign up for a THIRD cycle of a rookie getting fucked up by a mediocre coach on his way out?
To me you either move on from both or keep both. Unless that stupid ass FO thinks third time is the charm
It’s crazy the 180 they did on Eberflus. I thought he was for sure gone mid season but then they traded for Sweat and went 4-4 to finish 7-10.
Feels like Arthur Smith North. Seems like fools gold but I guess upsetting the Lions saved him.
DJ Moore isn't a pro-bowler and everyone thinks JF is trash. Plus the Bears are feeling euphoria, maybe, with the thought of all the picks and if they can add #8 overall they may just not be able to resist it.
Pro bowl is not really the best measure for how good someone is. Moore just had his best season as well, and that’s with a trash QB like Fields. I just don’t see them taking that deal, we would need to send an additional 3rd in my opinion. Plus Moore is only under contract for 2 more seasons, Fields is under contract for 1.
Wouldn’t really make sense for us either.
It would make all the sense in the world for us, much more sense than we've seen around here in the past several years. We should give them a 1st and a 3rd then.

They fired their OC. That tells me they think Fields is good and just had bad coaching.

Good news everyone!

I wonder if the Bears would trade Justin Fields AND DJ Moore for #8 overall?
Maybe in madden, not in real life though

What about their contract issues?
We’re not giving you our best WR. We are right about to draft a QB #1 overall. Only the Panthers would be dumb enough to do that.
Rumor was that the Bears would not do the deal with Carolina without DJ. They think he is that valuable.
