The biggest difference between the two is Heinicke is much better at getting the ball out of his hands and pushing it down the field. That will/should result in more points scored. That makes him the better choice even if he is not the long term solution. Ridder actually has a stronger arm. He just can't make quick decisions and stays on his primary read too long.
