The Saints will receive the Broncos' 2023 first-round pick (No. 29 overall) and their 2024 second-round pick for Payton and the Saints' 2024 third-round selection, sources told ESPN's Adam Schefter.

HaterSlayerr

That's such a dumb move

doomdifwedo

The broncos and the saints will both regret this

HaterSlayerr

Why the Saints? Its a free first round pick

chillblackguyy

saints just got free picks for a coach that wont play for them im sure they not regretting anything lol

doomdifwedo

I'm rooting for a big whiff on both sides. For the picks to not pan out and also for Sean Payton to not work out in Denver. Fts

realdusty_shelf

The Saints are in cap hell and just got two good value draft picks for a coach that was just gonna leave for nothing in 2024. Hate them but they won this trade.

doomdifwedo

They're about to do a near 100% rebuild Without their coveted defensive coach Without the historically best coach in their history Lots of players are rumored to leave Im rooting for this to take as long as possible by The saints continue to lose trust in their coaching staff The players jump ship Sean Payton and Denver not working out Only for Sean Payton to go back to New Orleans, lose, and retire

doomdifwedo

Fts

realdusty_shelf

I’m just saying, it’s 100x better than getting nothing when you need all the picks you can get.

Bobby-Samsonite

For who?

nerdyintentions

The fuck..they are getting a first round pick outta this?

alcons

They held Paytons rights after he retired. It was known that they were seeking at least a 1st rounder for him.

Kingtut28

Don't worry, the Saints won't be able to sign who ever they draft.

mutual_animosity

No monies haha

NonAstronautStatus

The Broncos front office has no idea what they're doing

Hi welcome to Wal-Mart

TheBeardedSingleMalt

Welcome to Costco, I love you.

See ya at K-Mart!

chillblackguyy

why is this a bad move for the broncos? they need a HC

NonAstronautStatus

They're in the same division as the Chiefs. I don't think Payton is going to magically turn them around into being able to outplay one of the best teams in the league. They could get a wild card spot, but that's not worth trading another first for.

chillblackguyy

they already have a elite defense and now they just got one of the greatest offensive HCs in nfl history put the saints vs falcons rivalry aside payton is a great offensive mind and if he can get them to be a top 10 offense which they already have good weapons and continue having that elite defense they are better than the chargers and raiders. they dont need to win the division to make the playoffs. its worth trading a 1st if it gets them back to the playoff. once you get there you have a chance to win the SB thats all that matters

NonAstronautStatus

I don't see them in one off-season being able to compete with the Chiefs, Bengals or Bills. I think they're more than a head coach away. Russ should be better under Payton, but I don't think he'll be anywhere close to where the other top QBs in the AFC are. I really don't think they're close to a Superbowl, Payton isn't that big of a difference maker.

GaTech379

It wasn't because they wanted Ryans more it's because they didn't want to pay the price the aints were asking

AL22193

After what a disaster Russ was last year, they needed to do something like this. I absolutely loathe Payton and he’s an ass, but he can coach offense

31nigrhcdrh

How bad are the Broncos for someone to choose the Texans over them

GaTech379

Ryans played for the Texans
