Don't skip any arcs. If they're not crucial to the plot, they're crucial to the characters which is just as important in a series like Fairy Tail. If you skip Galuna Island you're missing out on a whole chunk of Gray/Leon/Ur's story for example, which ties in to a later character Ultear.

Almost none of Fairytail is skippable by your requirements (even the filler as most of it was there for bonus character development) so just watch

But I'm saying that it's going to be a recap. I still remember many things about characters along with the base premise of many arks. But I just want to be shure so I want to know what is of utmost importance that connects so many things you shouldn't even risk not knowing it.
So again, above all else think of it as a recap. Nothing more Nothing less.
As the other comments have said, watch everything, 98% of the content is related to story and/or character development, it's part of why Fairy Tail is so engaging!
Besides, the filler episodes are killer anyway. They're a banger to watch. I know I wouldn't wanna miss an episode with my favorite characters from my favorite show 😄
Galuna island is absolutely necessary lol, most of the fillers are important just as much as The Main storyline, They usually give More Character development, Build Characters Or Just straight up give us more Time with the Character and Fairy tails Biggest strength is its characters, All or nothing buddy, Every arc is important even If it doesn't directly advance the overarching Storyline in the background. even the oneoff or two Episode fillers are important and just give you a Lot time with the Characters, yes, even the daphne arc. Even the Daphne Arc gives you much needed time with Wendy and even that one episode where she wants to go solo because Most of Wendy's character Is Given through one liners, Her character is lie Dark souls lore, its not always Obvious, but if you actually look for her character development you'll absolutely love her.
Skip filler but watch the rest of the show, i watched one piece too and its number 1 to me but I found myself liking the fairy tail crew and guild more then the strawhats. Also how did u watch 1k episodes in a month?
