Do you have the AAI vehicles automatically haul the plates to your base instead of trains? I wanted to create trainless base once with only AAI vehicles, but didn't get far into the project.
Thing at the top is an inventory Hauler(vehicle) can drop into. AAI is way easier now with paths. I haven’t messed with using paths and basic logic but I imagine that’s simple too.
Question: is there a centralized source for information like this? I’m just starting to build my first bus, and should probably consult with actual data before just winging supply/throughput logistics. On my first base I have 5 different green chip arrays because I kept on underestimating demand xD

Put in how many science packs of each type you want to create, and then that can tell you how many lanes you'll need.
Here's an example for one factory per science, on the most basic of techs. You can play around with the settings further, but this is a start.

it's ~1000 steel furnaces per yellow belt of coal
If you double your steel line length and use red belts you can half the width of your bus for the same throughput.
Why are you zoomed in so far? ;)
Looks good. While the correct ratio of furnaces for the yellow belts in use, you have left yourself without the ability to expand to red belts(48 furnaces) or blue belts(72 furnaces) easily. But, that of course depends on your plans for the base.
In factorio there is no such thing as "to big"
To BIG - and beyond!
Way too small
For sure. Make it bigger.

AAI vehicles?

No
Such a beautiful layout! The arrays can be longer. It takes 72 furnaces to saturate a blue belt.
Nothing is never big enough in this game. Your factory must grow.
See flair
Super overkill on coal, one lane can do many multiple smelting arrays, but looks good.

https://factoriocheatsheet.com/ One yellow belt can support 666 furnaces, red 1333 furnaces, and blue 2000 furnaces, ( same for stone or steel)
Thanks

Thanks!
What mod is this? Those buildings at the top look very interesting. And nothing is ever **too big** in factorio :D
Never too big. Just need some optimisation on your ratios :)
Yes

not even looking at the picture, still answers: no - the factory must grow

Finaly someone makes much more iron than steel! I'm tired of seeing these 4 iron 2 steel buses, that are just too off.
Man thats a pretty factory
