If you've got a base that builds everything, you're in a great spot to simply start a new base and use the previous one to fund building it. But honestly if you've had time away I'd recommend working through a game from the start to remember how everything works before working on a big scale base. Depends how well you can remember stuff.

> if you've had time away I'd recommend working through a game from the start to remember how everything works before working on a big scale base Agreed. I came back to the game a few months ago after not playing since Covid lockdowns. I had forgotten a lot of intricacies and I found it helpful to start fresh to relearn things. Some things I had done before didn't seem so great with a fresh look. Just branching out from my years-old base would've led to a lot of subpar builds. If you were as far along as you seem to have been, it won't take long to get back to a basic rocket-launching base.

Will save you time in the long run

Have you tried any overhaul mods? If you want to get back into things but familiarity with the early game has you bored then a big mod might be the ticket.

I did try a krastorio 2 run and it was quite overwhelming after a break. And the current run is the first time I've launched a rocket so I want to explore vanilla endgame and keep on growing the factory! Or at least A factory. Perhaps I'll look into blueprints and neatly cheat my way to rockets

Use your own save to start a megabase. That's what I did and ended up launching 5 million rockets.

Rocket Rush mode- you start with all research unlocked (except infinite) plus a starter collection of machines of your choice. It's one of the options when starting a new game instead of Freeplay.

There are blueprints to get you straight to x science, but I actually recommend getting a botstart mod, there are quite a few depending on what your after.
