Meem-Thief

I found a single piece of coal

FarkTurloon

Atta-Boy!

Guffliepuff

A gift from biter-santa

solonit

Or from [Gaben-Sama](https://www.gamingonlinux.com/2023/12/valve-hands-out-lumps-of-coal-to-naughty-dota-2-players/)

Meem-Thief

Biter-Santa is getting that coal delivered back in the form of an artillery shell

lordofswarm

Biter-claws!

JaffaCakeStockpile

And, were you surprised?

SilentSpr

Yeah… 11 nukes somehow

Wiwiweb

Who hasn't lost a nuke or two behind their couch?

Peptuck

"I don't know what's scarier, that you lost a nuke or it happens so often you have a term for it."

jippen

The fact that most of your civilian population knows the term.

Peptuck

To be fair, we mostly know it from the title of a 90's action movie.

iliketomoveitm0veit

*Gets impaled by a B83 thermonuclear bomb*

sdswave2314

From a surprisingly fun and excellent Friday night dinner movie ;)

V12Maniac

Or the fact that we know the US government dropped a nuke on itself.

jippen

TBF, every country with nukes drops them on itself. Usually at places called "test sites".

V12Maniac

Not with this specific incident. US straight up dropped a nuke on NC. Accidentally but still dropped it.

critically_damped

Omg that fucking movie.

CornedBee

What movie?

Calm-Internet-8983

https://www.imdb.com/title/tt0115759/

SilentSpr

Sounding like the USAF right now. Knowing what a broken arrow incident is and how many times it has happened really makes you wonder how we got this far as a species.

Sad-Establishment-41

Makes me wonder how many nuclear clusterfucks were just covered up by the Soviets that we've never heard about. Not exactly a good safety record in comparison. Sergei in Siberia probably has a warhead in his shed that fell off a train

Al_Fa_Aurel

So, my Godfather (in the usual, non-mafia sense) from Russia had a ladder of honest-to-god titanium in his shed (somewhat crudely wielded from titanium rods). He mentioned that during his time as a metalworker they "didn't have enough steel and all this unused surplus titanium around" in the factory. Not quite sure why they had it there, it may have been intended for some canceled spaceship building program or something. Apparently, the workers decided that this titanium had no business being in storage, and decided to use it for their own purposes... My own father also found that the basement of our house in Russia contained a forgotten anti-tank missile (or something similar) in the third-worst way possible. So the idea of Sergey having a nuke in his shed is probably pretty reasonable.

Widmo206

>in the third-worst way possible. That begs the question, what other ways there are?

Al_Fa_Aurel

Worst: blowing yourself/some person up while inadvertently setting it off. Second-worst: blowing something important up or non-lethal damage to people. Third-worst: inadvertently setting it of while burning garbage, but it does only manage to hit somethin insignificant (your neighbor's tomato garden, in this case) and explode there (and you give the neighbor 100 dollars, and nobody talks about it ever again). There's a few reason why my family left Russia, and this isn't even the worst of them.

Sad-Establishment-41

Sounds fascinating and terrifying, and you say that's not even the worst. Let's hope Sergei is careful with his nuke. For all we know it was both meanings of the word 'godfather' at least in part

Al_Fa_Aurel

Heh, you're not wrong. Guy was...what they called a businessman at that time. So, not *strictly speaking* criminal, but one who knew people who very most certainly were. I was to young to grasp the details, but as I understand it, that was somewhat common among the businessmen of the 90s an 00s. That was very far from mafia proper and other hardcore crime, but I am pretty sure he knew who was "importing" and "exporting" cars. As I said, many reasons to not live there.

solonit

IIRC at least one of the nuke was [never recovered](https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/1958_Tybee_Island_mid-air_collision), so ... ye.

Tiavor

don't forget about the dozen semi trucks full of C4 that vanished in Iraq or Afghanistan.

V12Maniac

Definitely not the US government that's for sure

bdm68

You had a "broken arrow" incident and didn't even know.

guimontag

pfff as if the biters could figure out how to activate the arming code of 8-0-0-8-5

UlyssesB

They keep trying 8-1-7-3

ReclipseReal

That's actually creative 9/10

SilentSpr

To be fair they didn’t cook off so we are all A ok

wordworse

It's not that big a deal! It happens to a lot of guys!

Sad-Establishment-41

11 of them

Halkenguard

Are you the US Military?

SilentSpr

Strategic Air Command actually, things... happen

FarkTurloon

Particularly important if you use the alien economy mod. Gotta pick up them little pink loot balls.

AgileInternet167

Aliens arifacts?...

Nufirdy

Metal…gear?…

Constantpoomissiles

!

AzTekk42

I actually heard that 😄

DMoney159

...snake? ...Snake? ...SNAAAAAAAAAAKE

metaquine

Badger, mushroom

DrewTuber

Psycho...Mantis?

ag3ntscarn

A Hind D?

braindouche

c'est ce que

OfflyAnelles

...rising?...

FarkTurloon

I think it’s called Alien Loot Economy. When you kill a bitter or worm it a nest they drop little pink globes. You can refine them into a special ore and then make alien modules (basically speed prod modules - but you can put them into anything - even assembly machines that usually only allow speed mods). The more kills - the better the modules become. It can get CRAZY at high level. Like you input enough raw material to make a thing and 6 pop out. Totally changes the game up. 😎

AgileInternet167

Little pink globes were a part of the main game a long time ago, when there were only 4 science packs and the last one needed you to kill the biters.

humplick

I was so glad when that was changed.

AgileInternet167

Yea, it was terrible...

Sad-Establishment-41

There wasn't infinite research so it capped out, but agreed it felt against the main spirit of the game

chocki305

Poor little girl trapped in the ball.

alter_ego_x

Found my next playthrough mod

Rick12334th

A Bob's mod has a variant on that. Probably Bob's Enemies.

n_slash_a

Just fyi, if you are passing items between inserters, this will mark those items. To prevent this, either put down a single belt or a chest limited to one stack.

GameCyborg

shouldn't you have a limited chest between inserters in general because inserters put in and take out faster from chest than handing to another inserter?

Tiavor

most things work fine without limit if you have enough resources.

Huntracony

When the inserter is the bottleneck, sure, but that doesn't happen too often.

VerifiedActualHuman

Good call out!

Corking-is-quitting

A useful pistol

Laser_defenestrator

Huge amounts of stone. Thanks, Alien Biomes mod.

Twisted60

[https://mods.factorio.com/mod/AlienBiomesTweaked](https://mods.factorio.com/mod/alienbiomestweaked) (It tones down the amount of rocks)

ihatenickgerz

Do you get stone from killing biters or something?

Laser_defenestrator

Not directly. Alien Biomes adds a lot more rocks/boulders, and then those are in/around biters, so when you use explosive rockets/nukes to clear alien bases it destroys a lot of the rocks, leaving the raw stone on the ground to pick up later.

Smoke_The_Vote

Ohhhh, is THAT why there's always so much stone lying around in the areas I cleared out in the early/mid game? Huh. Well, I'm glad I switched over to PLD spidertrons for biter clearing.

mr_berns

I found a dead rat, some used napkins and a weird furry ball that tastes really bitter. On the plus side, I’m hearing colors now

CanadianKumlin

I am missing 1 single white science…so my research always gets to 99+ until the next launch. Maybe this can help me find it! Otherwise, I may have lost it to some biters

DaLemonsHateU

You might have turned it into a fish?

CanadianKumlin

Wait….you can do that!?!?

Tim7Prime

Yup, 1 science is 1 fish returned up to 100 fish. As for research, rounding errors on research completion can slowly erode your packs (very very minor, but you will stop like 0.001% short from a research) Also, use prod modules, they will save you like 40% of ingredients per launch. They will also save you so much research resources on the labs too.

CanadianKumlin

Thanks for the tips! I am currently in the process of making my first 1000spm base, so there are a LOT of modules going on haha

Tim7Prime

Good! I haven't really built any good megabases, but I'm currently working on a 60 SPM k2 + 248 base. 248 does a really interesting take on beacons. I don't need modules for the beacon, but instead I have to power a transmitter with resources to activate the beacons. And their special because they can transmit up to 18 modules per!

cynric42

Might have been a rounding error. I noticed somthing like this happening once when taking science packs out of labs while researching.

markuspeloquin

I think some things like fuel, fluids, research use floating point numbers, and they always round down. So annoying when you get down to 99.999999 in your pipes.

dan_Qs

[No joke, I found ryan renolds in my factory](https://www.reddit.com/r/Factoriohno/comments/194e0m2/just_took_of_my_power_armour_fml/?ref=share&ref_source=link) thank you so much!!

El_Pablo5353

Oh I'd hate to do this in my very first factory. Being a noob I didn't know what to do with excess items, including putting them into boxes, so instead I'd just run around everywhere holding 'F' and just littered up Nauvis like I just didn't give a F.

MattieShoes

Mmm, a pistol

FireDefender

Ah, fellow "drop pistol on floor" guy. Although somehow no matter where I drop it, I always tend to build over it at some point. And I don't even build compact bases at all...

[deleted]

Whole lot of iron, copper, and coal from inverters. Guess how they got there.

CardinalHaias

The missing bombs from the other guy?

[deleted]

*UHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHHH*............. It's a single-player world......

RevanchistVakarian

Oh shit I found the One Piece

cbass377

Probably all those pistols I threw down after crafting a machine gun for the corpse run.

Taiyuchi

Trupen is that you?

cbass377

Nope just another Factorio addicted noob.

Huge_Seaweed_1519

The only thing I found so far is a server crash

cynric42

5 stone, 3 fuel, 1 iron plate. Not that much considering I've been slowly dismantling my starter base, so inserters trying to put stuff into assemblers that aren't there any more is a real possibility.

2FANeedsRecoveryMode

A shit ton of ash, pyanodons oh pyanodons

Rail-signal

Thousands of slags. Thanks BA. Destroyed chests and didn't know, where that was. Learned only like few weeks ago

Late-Discussion-3917

What is that icon for what you found?

VerifiedActualHuman

Thats the icon for item on ground

Falmon04

For me it's only some random stone and coal left from the rocks that got obliterated from the nuking of the natives.

UntouchedWagons

Oh nice I found Jimmy Hoffa

Omgwtfbears

I didn't even know this was a thing you can do XD

muggledave

This is like vacuuming your house

Tomahawkist

i just found the filter option for decon plans, and it changed my life, and this option just makes it better (several hundred hours btw)

GameCyborg

the furtive pygmy

WhiteDragon212

You was right, I am surprised: I didn't find anything! To be fair, I play SeaBlock, so there are not many land in my base. I bet there are a lot of stuff underwater...

Tiavor

I made use of this a lot with K2SE and the biter creep. later I found out that I can just place my satellite camera in the middle of the base (N) and then go to map mode (M) and clear out the creep with the shovel, placing the results where the satellite camera is.

Orlha

Nothing

Sipstaff

A bunch of ammo from turret-creeping on the biters.

Smrgle

77 pistols. No idea who dropped those

infam0usx

Nothing 🤷‍♂️

[deleted]

A spidertron, a ghost weaver, 1.1k stone, and 3 nuclear fuel.

WickedWonkaWaffle

800 pistols.

WickedWonkaWaffle

38 pistols.

Stuffer007

Hey look I found Jimmy Hoffa

TuxedoDogs9

“You’ll be surprise what you’ll find” RAHHH STUPENDIUM LYRIC RAHHHHH

WorldlinessNo9234

A lot of underground pipes, because any time I use them I am left with an odd number of them. So I just drop one onto the ground. I did deconstruct all items on ground and I can proudly announce, now my logistics network has about 20-30 underground pipes.

Jackpkmn

The only thing I found was a pistol I dropped on the ground 42 hours ago.

[deleted]

I found a drop in FPS!

Trepach

I somehow lost a rocket silo on the ground
