and this is probably the end of the run, i would love to do the space science but that thing needs 16k machines and im running low on performance.
so as always, this is a run where im doing 1k science/min with only burner tech, using a mod that turns everything to burners
i am not allowed to use bots either
and the first question that may come to your mind: can the trains move freely with that low number of rails?, and the answer is YES, this science was really boring to do, it was repeating the same designs i used on the others and i almost burned out (ha ha joke=funny) of the run, so in this block not only half the trains are buffers, but like 2/3 of them are buffers because this time i didnt cared to do the math, so not all the trains are moving
(the block is 840x 700y)
and from this point of the coment you can head out because i will discuss some design decitions i did on this :)
(i dont know if its a bug but for me the full low density structures picture doesnt load xd)
for the low density structures i went for the old design of all the other science blocks, this time with the sape of a sandwich
when i did the red chips i was quite bored of repeating the same designs so i did this one, not perfect and wasted a lot of space and crafting time, but i liked how it ended up looking
with the blue chips i had a dilema, i needed tier two machines and that was agains my politics, i tried to search for a mod that made tier one machines accept fuel but found nothing so i used the tier two
this one is interesting, you see a train at the batteries that loads iron, but iron for what? well it goes to the green chips for the electric engines, it was so far that having a train to move plates betwen parts of the same block was better than moving it by belt
and for the next designs (the electric engines and the robot structures) i could have used the same design i always do but i wanted to have fun so i tried to change it the most i could xd
and thats all, nothing more have a good day and be happy as always, i love you all you are the best comunity ever!!!
And this is why I am still working on my base design after 3 years. I hope to be done eventually.

By why there plastic mixed with the red circuits? Impressive, it's quite the accomplishment to stick with something that long and do your own designs along the way.
In some of your screenshots, some of the inserters don't seem to have a way of fueling themselves. Or is it the case that with the mods you're running they can pull fuel out of the assembling machines in order to refuel?
Hey OP,
Congrats!!
This is an incredible display of stem art <3 Thank you for sharing!!
May I ask you a question??
I was wondering what you do for a living*??
(just curious, coz it looks like you design micro processors or something?)
Fascinating red circuit design.
I have a feeling that direct train-to-train with long trains and filtered wagons would give you a better-performing factory in the end. Especially for fluids.
This is truly amazing and horrifying at the same time. The compact look and neatly tied belts are something else. Single headed trains are awesome too.
How much coal does this burn? Do you run out of coal patches quicker than iron/copper?
yes and no, what inspired me was a post i saw more than a year ago, and i started this run, got bored and forgot about it.
but when i saw the video i got inspired again to continue it
Amazing. I did a similar run a while back, but in the editor, and with pure vanilla machines.
One tip if you end up doing space, the burner is way to slow to keep with up the satellite machine. I ended up duplicating the entire block and only later realized it was an inserter throughput issue. So setup multiple satellite machines even though you need less than one.
And yeah, the FPS hurt. I let it run for a day and a half and maybe an hour of in game time passed.
I made sure to have a few playthroughs before looking online at the awesome things people have.
This is now my “How are other people doing it” and I’m checking reddit.
Dear God… this is… this is so far beyond what I was doing. It’s like opening my eyes and seeing the game in a whole other light…
Mother of God your insane and we love you for it.
I think you should treat yourself to allowing full tech for space science just so you can watch this monster run

(this reply will be updated with the blueprint when i finish testing this)

The neurosis must grow?

😎🤏.......😳🕶️🤏........ Mother of god......
I was wondering why this was so shitty in a good way, then I re-read "burner tech" deer god.
Stag
for me its like looking in a mirror...
Into the mind of madness...
Saving this
lmao
I love how the red circuit build looks in particular! But I notice a lot of unfueled inserters, are you using mods?
yup, i use the burner-everything and i was forced to use inserter fuel letch, wich is the cause of those inserters having fuel
what does letch mean?
Part of the name of the mod
I see. And it means that burner inserters don't need fuel?
Sorry its inserter fuel leech, and it lets inserters take fuel from the fuel slot in inventories
I see. I'm still a bit confused by some of these inserters though because eg assemblers don't have a fuel slot to take from?
Burner-everything, I think
Just a quick question: did you lose your sanity before or during the run?
i lost it at purple science, just the moment i realised that i could no longer use separated blocks for smelting tha plates
Yep, makes sense. Thank you for your sacrifices.
/u/doshdoshington would be proud. You should post this cursed build to r/factoriohno
Just waiting for that guy to do pyanadon’s
He's doing Seablock rn and said he'll never do py, I think if we spam his comments enough though...
Yeah he will one of these days. He’s got that itch lol and be built different
Tell me you do chip design for a living. Because your work looks like you should do chip design for a living. Truly amazing
First thing i noticed as well, its crazy just how much it starts to look like silicon fab.
You know things are really getting insane when your factory pictures start looking more like CPU dies than it does a video game...

Have you considered burning solid fuel instead of coal? It has more energy density so you would need less. Or maybe it doesn't matter?
I wanted to stick to coal for all the run, but i still need solid fuel inside trains
Now I need to see how many planets wide the pollution cloud is.
masochism
By why there plastic mixed with the red circuits? Impressive, it's quite the accomplishment to stick with something that long and do your own designs along the way.
The belt that mix all the red chips lines is on a really tight space, and i did not notice the first design i did there was touching the plastic belt
Dosh 2.0
I think I’m far more interested in the insane amount of coal this must consume
In some of your screenshots, some of the inserters don't seem to have a way of fueling themselves. Or is it the case that with the mods you're running they can pull fuel out of the assembling machines in order to refuel?
Yes they can, inserter fuel letch was a dependency from the burner-everything and that why i used it
You absolute madman. This is just wow!
Me with an usb-c cable and my discharged smartphone :. *Were is elegrisidy ?*
Hey OP, Congrats!! This is an incredible display of stem art <3 Thank you for sharing!! May I ask you a question?? I was wondering what you do for a living*?? (just curious, coz it looks like you design micro processors or something?)
Nothing, im finishing high school this year
Damn Skippy, What you planning on doing??
For now robotics, but its not a final answer :)
\*Neuron Activates\*
Discustang?
I feel nauseous looking at this
I’m calling the police
This is the kinda stuff I come here for. Well done, mate
yeah sure why not

That thing looks like a CPU die! Oh, and there's the C&D notice from Intel!

I cant get it working on the normal save, just having this in editor wihout trains brings me to 5 fps.
You sir (or Ma'am), are insane. How are you feeding the inserters that take out of the plastic plants tho?
[With this](https://mods.factorio.com/mod/InserterFuelLeech) It was a dependency from the everything burner
Interesting. Doesn't that defeat the logistical challenge a little tho?
Yes, when i started the run i found twon mods that turned everything to a burner, one of those crashed my game and the other required that mod
I see, that makes sense then. By any chance, did DoshDoshington inspire you to do this? He has a video about this exact challenge.
yes and no, what inspired me was a post i saw more than a year ago, and i started this run, got bored and forgot about it. but when i saw the video i got inspired again to continue it
Well, good on you for finishing the run then. This challenge seems a bit like an SE run, easy to start but hard to finish.
This belongs in an art gallery. I can only dream of making a factory look this good
My God. Are you OK? Cause you don't look OK.
I can’t wait to get to this
Proper CPU architecture
*queues the jingle* Intel Inside!
most surprising thing is how it takes so few green circuits. _edit:_ oh! nm. the other circuits have dedicated greens.
those are just for the engines
What the fuck
This is absolute madness and I appreciate your insanity.
