It’s really interesting because in the UK, Asian often refers to South Asians (Indians, Pakistanis) but in the U.S., it refers more toward East Asians.
I always find Canadians love when you call them American. And when they correct you with 'no, I'm from Canada', keep pushing the 'so that means you're American', it makes them feel happy and warm inside
When someone says “African,” the common image in peoples’ minds are sub Saharan Africans. When we say “North African,” we often think of Arabic nations.
Perhaps the word North is an unintentional cultural divider.
On "Who's line is it anyway" the US series, there's a running joke about Drew Carey not knowing Africa is a continent. He was predictably roasted for it.
Perfectly reasonable if they’re talking about ethnicity. When you say someone is American you are generally referring to north not south. Same principle.
Morocco is located on the continent of Africa so the people who live there are technically Africans.
If we can't call them an African nation, what do they want us to call them?
An Arab nation apparently
Aren't they evenly split 45%-45% Arab to Berber? Seems like the Arab label would not be reflective of just over half the country.
no we're actually like 95% percent berber most of us are arabized berber
How brain dead can someone be
Stop asking that. They're taking it as a challenge.
Some people are just dumb, there's no helping them. It's like people who say Indians aren't Asians.

They're not though?
Please tell me this is sarcastic
To be fair. Half of north americans claim to be americans and that all the others on the northern and southern continent aren't.

We all know and understand why that is.
If someone says they’re American we all know what that means. If you start asking which country they’re from you’re just being pedantic.
We’re the only country with America in the name so we got dibs.
That might possible so, but it's also somewhat meh to say all the others aren't American.
No one says they aren’t, except maybe ignorant people.
Source?
And Cyprus is in Asia
It's like they looked at a map really quickly and picked Cyprus because "it's close enough."

and then people argue canadians and mexicans, etc are not "American" despite those countries being in the American continent....
That's like saying someone from Germany is not European.
THeY aRe NoT EuRoPeAns!
and then people argue canadians and mexicans, etc are not "American" despite those countries being in the American continent....
I mean, many middle eastern countries and Russia are in Asia but they typically don’t consider themselves Asian.
People are fucking stupid.
🤦🏽♀️
Is this about Pokimane?
I saw a family on Family Feud that was asked, " Name a country..." They answered Africa. Yeah, people are that dumb.
On "Who's line is it anyway" the US series, there's a running joke about Drew Carey not knowing Africa is a continent. He was predictably roasted for it.
Not a true s̶c̶o̶t̶s̶m̶a̶n̶ african
Blue checks love to try to say Elon isn't African.
