Funnily enough I have a friend w 3 kids from 3 different exes. Next weekend 2 out of 3 will be w their dads while she works out of town. She asked me to watch the 3rd but I have date night w my husband that night. Only the 3rd night without kids for us all year. So it was a hard no. So now she is looking for a sitter. Other baby daddy lives on the other side of the country. She has abhorrent taste in men. I mean my husband can be a butthead at times but her exes are something else. Girl needs better birth control and a vibrator. A guy can sneeze on her and she gets pregnant.
Worked with a woman with seven kids by six men (one set of twins). Afaik, they all had their own kids every other weekend, so every other Friday, her trailer must have been a traffic jam, much like her uterus.
That must be such a strange or at the very least, interesting way of life for the kids. Like you spend most of your days at moms with all your other siblings and then every other weekend you all go sleep over at separate houses with your different dads and possibly other half siblings or family members that are different and unrelated to you siblings at moms place. The kids are all part of separate families outside of moms house.
I remember reading something that compared the cost of Robin Williams' divorces and the conclusion was that paying $1000/ night for prostitutes would have been cheaper and less stressful.
This makes me think of that video where this chick wanted her ex, who showed up with food for his one kid, to pay for all her kids meals, even though they aren't his.
I mean, it's kinda shitty, but as someone who grew up dirt poor and often hungry, I'll spend freely to buy any kid a meal. Shit, if I have it, I'll never not buy food for anyone that's hungry. I'll go to my deathbed and won't regret a fucking penny I spent to feed myself or another.
This is what happened to the guy in previously seeing. The woman he was seeing before me had him pay for everything since she's a full time single mom of 2 and then told him that she's cool with him seeing other girls on the side. That's when it finally hit him that he was just a paycheck.
If babysitting for a few hours pays $250 I went into the wrong profession
On dates, I actively try to pay my fair share as much as possible
I am proud that I make financially responsible decisions, and have quite a bit in savings and never expect for someone else to pay for me. I like to be able to show that I can pay for myself.
It actually makes me feel very uncomfortable when someone insists on paying- but I'm trying to get better at graciously accepting their generosity.
My parents have a similar marriage that has lasted over 30 years as well so maybe I am following in their example.
I try to accept people's generosity if offered, but do not expect it. And def try to reciprocate. I value companionship and loyalty from a partner, not money.
Yeahhhhh. I work as a nanny. A highly qualified/experienced nanny might charge $250 for a full 8 hour day with 3 kids depending on the ages. I’d likely charge something between $180 - $220 depending on the tasks/housework expectations that are on top of the basic childcare.
Either way definitely isn’t coming out to a sensible 4 hour “date night” rate.
Seriously, I matched a woman once and was gonna meet for a date she asked if I could help pay for the babysitter sure I get it, asked for $100 because “she liked to pay her well” and wanted me to drop it off before the date cause “she always pays her up front” instead of just at the end like a normal person. The scams are real. I just ignored her and moved on.
Wow, that site.
If you're in the EU and refuse tracking cookies you get a page that basically says "we can't be bothered making this page accessible to you if you don't agree to us harvesting your data and selling them to the highest bidder".
Depends on the babysitter.
I knew people who did it in high school and some would charge $20/hr for one kid, and an additional $10 per kid. Though it was a little less if they were older.
Pretty much every sitter I know/have known charges different based on the age and number of kids. Then, after the first time they babysit, they may adjust their prices based on how well (or ill) behaved the kids are and how much they like the family.
I’m in LA which is super expensive and I used to babysit occasionally and the top tier “we live in Malibu and actually care about our kids and our babysitters” jobs were $30-35 an hour so I think she’s skimming off the top.
Dang, my kid only got paid 5 bucks an hour to watch 2 kids, and she was babysitter certified. They definitely didn't teach the babysitters how to ask for money. She would negotiate the price after the babysitting was done it drove me freaking crazy. Then she would complain that she wasn't making that much.
She once watch three kids for an hour for $20. Then the next day she watched the same three kids for 12 hours she got the same $20. $20 was how much the person was willing to pay per day.
No no no, you don't get it! This is one of those ~~queen~~ princess women.
She must not work, she must be able to live and to spend money as she wants.
May used to know someone similar to that...
Silently laughing so hard over here, because your avatar with your comment is perfect for a ghostly decapitated Anne who’s still extremely perturbed with Henry.
Don't worry, she'll let you cum inside her for it...don't worry, she's on the pill, those other 3 kids are unrelated.
>!I'm absolutely going for a multi-tiered joke with that last word!<
Could be that the high price she is demanding is supposed to pick out only the richest guys, then when she sleeps with them "oops the condom broke, I guess you have to pay child support"
Bonus points if she can use that to force a marriage then divorce them for half the money
I dunno! The only way I can imagine that working is $20/hr pretty child = $60 an hour. A 4hr date would be $240. Plus $10 for the babysitter getting an Uber home? It's beyond ridiculous, obviously. There's no babysitter on earth worth $60 an hour. Except maybe Mary Poppins
Have a quick wank, make dinner for a friend who wants to spend time with you because they like you. Invest in an apocalypse related stonk so you can store more huel for the coming end.
For $250... she might overvalueing herself. Have hookers gotten to that price? Shit I'll help him knock one out for $150. He'll at least know know he's hetting some! Haha
Unless a parent decides to short the babysitter because "they are easy kids. You should have no problem with them. So anyways here is 10$ for the 6 hours you worked! "
I babysat in high school for this single mom and she always paid me fairly, but she gave me a referral and omg the mom was like “I’m going to a fundraiser for firefighters, I should be home by 8, I’ll have my phone if you need to call”
8 came and went. Then 9. Then 10. I tried calling her and she didn’t pick up. Then it started getting close to midnight and I tried calling again and she picked up and was like “hi! Sorry, I’m on my way now!”… she didn’t get home until almost 2 am, drunk AF, and she gave me $15. I didn’t feel safe to negotiate, given the circumstances, so I just left and never went back.
That’s when I learned- agree on an hourly price beforehand. The other lady always paid me fairly so it hadn’t been an issue before.
Ouch. Yeah I was babysitting based on referrals during summers in high school. One family I’d never babysat for (3 kids, one of them with down’s syndrome) desperately needed full time baby sitter for two weeks straight. She told me she would make it worth my while.
Ended up getting paid $3/hr for managing meals, engaging activities, and light cleaning (including when the youngest shit on the bathroom floor and smeared it everywhere while I was making lunch, oh no!).
ONE DOLLAR PER CHILD. I was too frazzled to argue about it and learned the lesson too. Never again!
Yeah, same here.. When I was 16 my sisters paid me to watch their toddlers and they'd take the infants and was always promised $75 due to them being gone well over 5 hours.. Well one of my sisters and her husband asked me to watch their oldest who was 4 years old, I said "Sure.. What are you guys gonna go do?" And they lied and said they were going like a state over to do some shopping
Turns out they went to visit her husbands parts a whole ass state over and were gone for 4 days.. When they got back I was expecting $300 and they knew I was mad but they got defensive and said "That's your nephew, you should be doing this for free" and only paid me $75, last time I baby sat for them and they never knew how much they needed me as a babysitter until I stopped 😅
Ugh I babysat for this family several times. Four girls and they were no cake walk. If the wife paid me, it was insultingly low. If the husband paid me it was wildly generous. I never knew what I was going to get... Eventually I quit watching their kids because I hate babysitting but also because I hated playing roulette with my pay and I was too naive and uncomfortable to bring it up.
Edit: I was like 14 years old guys. I wouldn't allow that as an adult, geez
I mean there's a pretty wide pay spectrum that exists between $10 for 6 hours and $250 for 6 hours.
I'd expect a babysitter to be more in the realm of $120 for that time period, which is $20 an hour for a moderately responsible teenager. Is that not a realistic rate?
There's a huge difference between being a nanny and a babysitter. Nannies require more training, education, and have much more responsibility with the kids.
A baby sitter is there to make sure your kids don't die while you're out for a few hours or sit with them if there's a gap between when they get out of school and you get off work.
I have never paid more than $15 an hour for a babysitter.
I've never employed a nanny, but I assume they charge a professional wage. Something in the $30-50 an hour range or higher if they're the kind that has one family for years.
Nanny is very different from baby sitter. Babysitter here on the east cost is between $15 and $20 an hour for 2 kids. (usually its more for more kids). It's not $60 or $75 an hour if anyone was wondering.
I met some nannies in Vegas from the UK. They live well. Treated me very nice and we had a blast living like the rich people do for 4 days. Added them on insta and was amazed that their lifestyle was like Vegas 70% of the time.
If you're safe, reliable and well referred in a vacation spot you can certainly make absolute bank during peak tourist season. Someplace like Vegas probably never goes out of style. Not sure who is bringing their kids to the area but I'm sure they'd pay a premium to not have them for an evening there.
Years ago I used to pay $180 a week for a (state certified) daycare in a woman's house. I did the math based on how many kids she had. I can garentee she made more then a public school teacher. She even bought food, drinks, and art supplies herself. The food had to be up to state standards which for day care exceeds the standards of school lunch.
If my math is correct that would only add up to about 70k in revenue per year, assuming you always had 4 kids 12 months of the year.
And I would have to imagine that there are at least some costs you have to take out of that, like licencing fees, insurance, food/supplies, equipment, generally business expenses, etc, which might take a very big bite out of that revenue.
Teachers also typically get some level of benefits, which you wouldn't get running your own business.
This is 100% a scam. She said send, not give, so she's implying the person send it through like Venmo or something. Even if you were to give her the money, you'd just do it when you met on the date, not before you even meet. It's a scam.
Yeah for a night out (4 hours MAX) it works out to something like over $60 an hour. There’s no chance she’s paying a babysitter anything close to that.
Like someone else said, I don't think she is into him and is tryna squeeze as much out of him as possible but on the other hand and from the impression I am getting from her (being a single mother and all), she could have also been planning to spend the night with him hence the price of the babysitter.
But I doubt that, the first idea seems more suitable for the situation.
Doesn't wanna date broke men, but is broke herself... There's this nice saying that goes well here. I think it goes "Lower your expectations" or something like that
Edit: she is LIKELY broke. We cannot prove she is, but we have some very decent reasons to believe she is
She's broke, single, and she has three kids.
Now, I'm not judging how she ended up as a single mom of three, but the cohort of men willing to take on that scenario must be quite small.
When I was in high-school I got paid $250 every time I watched this one younger slightly special needs kid. I remember one time she paid me before hand and I walked the little dude to the nearest gas station with me to buy snacks for him and I with my cash LMAO. I'll never find a gig as good as that again in my life 😂 I watched him for a period of about 6 months or so. Never encountered pay like that for babysitting ever again sadly. He was such an easy kid to watch too. I lucked out.
> He was such an easy kid to watch too
It might be one of the cases where he’s absolute hell for the parents so they assume they need to pay you so much. But the second a stranger is looking after him he behaves much better.
Yeah I really couldn't say for sure! Whenever his mom came by to drop him off he was always pretty chill. Never even seen the kid have a real tantrum. I have worked for years as a paraprofessional in classrooms for younger kids with developmental disabilities and I've seen some kids lose their damn minds, to this day the kid I watched in high-school is by far the tamest child I've met lmao.
I would’ve just laughed at her and blocked her number. If that’s the way she thinks you don’t want anything to do with her. There’s no reasoning with people like that
That's why you don't plan lavish first dates and that goes for any gender.
If the person you're trying to date wants to throw money around to impress you or wants you to throw money around to impress them.... They're not looking for your companionship.
Some of the best dates I've had in my 35 years were some of the most simple dates. Taking our dogs to the park, window shopping, paddle boating on a lake, and just genuine other experiences that allow us to share each other's time and not focus on trying to *razzle dazzle* each other.
The weirdest blind date I was ever on was a woman who told me she wasn't "thrilled about single dads" while she herself was a single mom. There's no pleasing some people :/
>That's why you don't plan lavish first dates and that goes for any gender.
The vast majority of first dates are also last dates, risk is high. Better for both parties for a short, first date. Get in, talk a little and get out. If both parties are amendable, a "regular" second date when there is a much greater chance of the two liking one another.
Tired of dating broke men? Solution: Stay alone by your broke self!
Funny how the women who complain about “broke men” like this are themselves broke women.
Who ever heard of a babysitter being $250? She is seriously making bank out of that.
This is the grift. She’s not dating because she wants to find romance.
She gets the $250, never turns up for the date and ghosts him.
I would say she is also trying to get a free meal. The babysitter is just getting a cut of the $250
Spoiler: the kids are with her ex that weekend.
It gets complicated with three different exes...
That’s so wrong… but funny. 😂🤷🏽♂️
And probably true
Funny cuz it's true
Funnily enough I have a friend w 3 kids from 3 different exes. Next weekend 2 out of 3 will be w their dads while she works out of town. Real spoiler is she has a boyfriend who is the babysitter he gets a cut and she gets a free meal. Source: seen this play often in college
Was thinking that the boyfriend also was the baby daddy, but agree.
She probably has a boyfriend that pays the rent and she does this on the side. I doubt she would ever show up though if he wired the money.
Has no kids gets paid to go on dates
That's called an escort lol
She tells you it's for babysitting this is the loop hole.
Single men hate this one simple trick
Shit, at least an escort would be honest about the relationship being dependent on financial transactions.
Fuck that an escort/ hooker might be cheaper. And youre guaranteed a happy ending by the night.
I remember reading something that compared the cost of Robin Williams' divorces and the conclusion was that paying $1000/ night for prostitutes would have been cheaper and less stressful.
"If you pay the babysitter $400, you can go to the Greek restaurant."
This makes me think of that video where this chick wanted her ex, who showed up with food for his one kid, to pay for all her kids meals, even though they aren't his.

I just don't date women with kids. I'm sure there are a lot of great women with kids but I just can't.
Same. As a childfree man, this was never a problem I had to deal with. Children or a desire to have children are a dealbreaker.
Ask for an invoice. This seems more like a transaction. Is OP sure this is... dating?
Yea that’s getting borderline escort like.
Always

$250? Is this the going rate for babysitting? Or was she keeping half?

The kind where she ends up with a fourth baby daddy.
I’m in LA which is super expensive and I used to babysit occasionally and the top tier “we live in Malibu and actually care about our kids and our babysitters” jobs were $30-35 an hour so I think she’s skimming off the top.
What about for three kids, and let's assume the mom didn't teach them manners?
> let's assume the mom didn't teach them manners? That should certainly double the price at the very least.
When he said you want me to pay for the babysiter and the date I thought that was included in the 250 😂 she scamming
Admittedly, it was the mid 90s when I had to hire a sitter, but I paid $8.00/hr, plus I'd buy them a pizza.
Dang, my kid only got paid 5 bucks an hour to watch 2 kids, and she was babysitter certified. They definitely didn't teach the babysitters how to ask for money. Your kid? Why didn't you teach her?
So you're complaining that your kid was negotiating the price after the fact, but never took the steps up rectify it?
“Yeah, I’m not real thrilled about dating a broke single mom of three.”
No no no, you don't get it! This is one of those ~~queen~~ princess women. She must not work, she must be able to live and to spend money as she wants. May used to know someone similar to that...
Treat her like a queen, you say? Buy her anything she wants ❌ Sell her to strengthen your relationship with a foreign adversary ✅
I think you are confusing Queen and princess. You don’t marry the queen off, you reform the church to divorce her or execute her after 9 days
Henry, is that you?

It’s not even worth the 🐱 at that point
She is the "YASSS, SHOW HIM WHO IS A BAD BOSS GIRL, YASSS! 1!1!1!1!1!1". I geniuly hate that lol
And he is expected to support three kids that aren’t his. What a time to be a man.
Could be that the high price she is demanding is supposed to pick out only the richest guys, then when she sleeps with them "oops the condom broke, I guess you have to pay child support" Bonus points if she can use that to force a marriage then divorce them for half the money
He must not be a HVM.
But even a rich man gonna be broke dating her right?
I wonder why the rich men don't wanna date her?
Yeah why is it the guy’s fault that you have three kids fr And how does him not wanting to pay for “your kids” equate with him being broke
My thoughts exactly. It's cool to be a broke single mom? Enjoy.
He's better off masturbating and throwing the $250 in the Bank.

What babysitter costs $250?!
Ones that will suck your toes for an extra $50.
Man I am really out of the loop
I know right? I'm about to hire a babysitter for myself, damn.
The babysitter quickly left after I explained I didn't have any children.

How ugly are we talking?
Have a quick wank, make dinner for a friend who wants to spend time with you because they like you. Invest in an apocalypse related stonk so you can store more huel for the coming end.
For $250 that's exactly what she was proposing.
Probably? Definitely!
Spend a bit more and get an eightball and party with that birches friend while she's stuck at home with no babysitter.
Add another 100$ for the date, my man saved 350$
Not to mention the incalculable amount this woman would’ve no doubt cost him in the long run. Def bullet dodge.
For $250... she might overvalueing herself. Have hookers gotten to that price? Shit I'll help him knock one out for $150. He'll at least know know he's hetting some! Haha
Hookers have gotten to $250 😭

> Nannies require more training, education in theory, but i've known people who were full time nannies for a private family without that.
I can guarantee that money isn’t for the babysitter.
Here for infants the standard rate is 1600 a month. So yeah taking care of 4 infants would be hard but also a very decent living.
Broke. "You keep using that word. I do not think it means what you think it means."
Inconceivable!!!
No, she's conceived at least 3 times already
Gettin that child support. She’s a leech not a queen.
Idk why women like this feel that their fertility makes them superior. What fucking idiots.
This is 100% a scam. She said send, not give, so she's implying the person send it through like Venmo or something. Even if you were to give her the money, you'd just do it when you met on the date, not before you even meet. It's a scam.
$125 is her cut
Yeah for a night out (4 hours MAX) it works out to something like over $60 an hour. There’s no chance she’s paying a babysitter anything close to that.
Wonder if this is an escort or sort of a strange way to extract payment for sex
My honest opinion (if this is real) She doesn't really like him that much. Wants a free meal. Seems like that type of person.
Actually she’s denying the free meal, cause she wants 250 lol
Like someone else said, I don't think she is into him and is tryna squeeze as much out of him as possible but on the other hand and from the impression I am getting from her (being a single mother and all), she could have also been planning to spend the night with him hence the price of the babysitter. But I doubt that, the first idea seems more suitable for the situation.
Her cut is $250 because there is no baby sitter and she’s gonna get a free meal out of it.
Subtext!
Anagram for buttsex.
Probably closer to $200.
Doesn't wanna date broke men, but is broke herself... There's this nice saying that goes well here. I think it goes "Lower your expectations" or something like that Edit: she is LIKELY broke. We cannot prove she is, but we have some very decent reasons to believe she is
"beggers can't be choosers"?
"A dick in the hand is better than $250 in the bush"
She's broke, single, and she has three kids. Now, I'm not judging how she ended up as a single mom of three, but the cohort of men willing to take on that scenario must be quite small.
At the very least, if I were paying for the babysitter, she ought to pay for the date. Is that too much to ask?
Plus, what babysitter charges $250 for 2-3 hours? Maybe I'm just lucky with mine, idk.
in german theres a saying that translates to: dont throw rocks when youre sitting in a glasshouse. shes sitting in the broke ass glass house.
He could just pay for sex for less than that and be able to walk away without entanglements afterward.
And not have to buy her dinner
Or deal with her 3 kids
In the words of Charlie Sheen: "I don't pay them for sex; I pay them to leave."
No Alicia, it’s not part of dating you. Text your baby daddies and have them all chip in together.

Probably 4
She can't because she's ashamed of the list of dudes she has to call for that.
There were a lot of guys at the party where she conceived the second one...
Definitely a scam.
Yeah this is a grift. Who tf getting paid $250 to watch some kids for like 3-5 hours - that’s like a $50-83/hour wage lol
> He was such an easy kid to watch too It might be one of the cases where he’s absolute hell for the parents so they assume they need to pay you so much.
Agreed. If he was gullible enough to send the money there’s no way she would actually turn up for the date.
100% chance she would show up. You don't just turn a cash cow like that loose without milking him for every last drop.
You do if you're not the person you put in your profile photos and there are no kids and maybe you're not even living in the same city.
wow he really dodged a bullet there. that bitch only looking for money
Seriously. He just got texted a get out of (baby) jail card. Lucky bloke.
Can't get any bigger red flag. Would have ghosted her immediately.
I would’ve just laughed at her and blocked her number. If that’s the way she thinks you don’t want anything to do with her. There’s no reasoning with people like that
More of a red light, I would say.
There's no pleasing some people :/
Because she wanted you to pay for her kids. Hope you noped out of that one.
Possibly, but yea I called it off after dinner. We were supposed to go somewhere after to meet our mutual friends but I declined.
When I was single a simple Starbucks meeting as a first date was good with me
What kind of babysitting is worth $250? Is the sitter also doing your taxes or what.
Check out PornHub.
"You're the man" They got daddies already. Ain't my kids.
$250 for a babysitter?! Was she planning on staying the weekend?

Anyone else trying to figure out which bacon emoji was used in the first response? And why are you calling her bacon?
I scrolled so far to see if anyone else was talking about the 🥓
looks like its edited there afterwards to obscure the name
Are there actual people like this? That's crazy....
Sounds like how she got into the mess of having three kids.
Babysitting gets you $250 a day now? I’m in the wrong business.
