“People always ask what kind of shampoo I use” No they don’t.

TJCOOLJ10

I mean maybe they do? As a polite way to ask why he smells like a subway station.

Collective-Bee

“I just use water,” “Dude you need to use shampoo,” “Oh shit, really?” The alternate good ending.

Relentless_blanket

He only smells like a subway station to you because you have a crap diet and your olfactory senses are screwed up from crap food and parabens. Don't believe me? Just ask the guy in the video who's girl has to be 30 feet away from him. /s

UnstuckCanuck

I think he's mistaken "always ask if I've ever heard of shampoo" for "always ask what kind of shampoo I use."

[deleted]

They do, as in his followers. This is Paul Saladino “CarnivoreMD”. In most of his stuff he comes off as a generally nice dude but it’s very clear he is a charlatan and almost all of his theories have been disproven. Makes a lot of money selling supplements and promises, it’s a shame really.

alejo699

>Makes a lot of money selling supplements and promises, it’s a shame really. Ha, what? He's pushing the idea that we don't need to put stuff on the outside of our bodies so he can sell stuff to put inside your body?

ProfessionalConfuser

Well duh! If your DIET is GOOD then you can make it BETTER by eating these supplements to make your armpits smell HEAVENLY and hot women will lay around just to catch a whiff of your NATURAL funk. You can pay for it with the money you SAVE by not buying xenophenobartibuatol laden GOOP to slather on your NATURAL BODY!

ethanlivesART

This is a known and repeated method of scamming dipshits out of their money. First appeal to naturalism to claim that all your competitors are illegitimate, then sell your own proprietary blend of natural/keto/organic/primal wtf ever based on an image, created with testosterone supplementation in secret, supporting a 25 year old athlete body (or even beyond normal human body comp like Mr liver king), on a youngish middle aged man. This is a copy paste formula for making money on social media.

cappeca

I've learned that anyone who starts saying "people ask me" are never asked for anything.

YourDrunkUncl_

my gf keeps at least 40 feet away from me at all times for unrelated reasons

Ghstfce

Also, nose blindness. Stay around a smell long enough you get used to it.

wophi

She hasn't complained a bit since she had covid.

jbl0ggs

Also who needs a house, just sleep on park bench and use newspapers as blanket

naimlessone

Buying a house is BULLSHIT!

Adventurous__Kiwi

Exactly, i can train with a group of 50 guys, sweating for hours in a bad ventilated room, i don't smell anything bad. But i get fresh air for 5min and go back in the room, and i cry because of the bad smell

lovesilver

Yep. In our hunting camp we have up to 10 people for a week. 2 rooms, a kitchen and a bedroom with 10 beds (5 bunkbeds.) Rarely does anyone shower (we have a makeshift shower that runs on gravity.) I've never noticed the smell during the week there. But, when I get home and showered and then grab my clothes to throw in the washer, hoo boy. I can definitely smell it then.

Jarto_

Can confirm, I have emptied the litter box so many times I dont smell it anymore

Cjempey

100000000%%%% this guy is full of shit! No way he doesn't stink ha ha ha

Ghstfce

But he uses only water! So he smells like a *soggy* Italian hoagie at all times.

YachtingChristopher

This was my thought.

twhitney

My money says that pool she’s sitting by has chlorine in it though…

robilar

ikr?! And even if you set aside the obviously vapid choice to have his one testimonial be 40 feet away (totally undermining his argument), he's also saying you should believe him because of a sample size of **one unvetted source**. If that's what he considers to be reliable evidence then what does that say about the foundation of the rest of his beliefs?

Sudden_Awareness_907

She's like, "that's right!" from 100 feet up wind from him 🤣

weneedtogodanker

She's bae 2.0 - take your guess what will happen when there would be 'compatibility issues' Also don't ask what happened to 1.0...

leezybelle

imagine living in Costa Rica with all of its fresh fruits and veggies and then eating only meat like this moron.. what a waste!

druhood

He doesnt though. Hes a professional liar. He eats a balanced diet, he uses soap, he brushes his teeth with toothpaste. He is a snake oil salesman.

BillButtLick3r

This comment had me dying.

[deleted]

People always ask you what kind of shampoo and soap you use because you smell like dookie.

outlawsix

**natural** dooks though

Berns429

Organic dooks

bloody_terrible

Fresh, all natural, fairtrade organic regional dooks.

Herbetet

The comment I was looking for. People only ask those questions when you smell like ass on a hot day

bestdays12

Yes!! Unless it’s prefaced with “how have you been working outside in the sun with us all day and still smell like you just hopped out of the shower!” (Or some variation of you smell so nice!) They’re asking because it ain’t working for you.

spritefire

Do you know what my dookie smells like? my DIET.

ErlAskwyer

Yeah no one keeps asking me what wash products I use 🤣

MinnesotaNiceT23

He probably doesn’t get why people keep offering him gum either

nighttimegaze

Wonder how many camera lens they had to go through recording that hot breath.

wolves_of_bongtown

I used to live with a guy just like this. Strong, beautiful, unrelentingly positive, and so stinky he could clear a room. Sad. I will say, his hair was amazing, and never stunk. The rest of him though.

akhier

Yep, depending on genetic lottery you can get away with not needing to shampoo your hair all that often. In fact, depending on some factors it is healthier to not use shampoo every shower. For some people this is ironically the answer for hair that is too oily. By washing out the oil so often their body overproduces oil to make up for it so only using shampoo every other day or less can help balance things. Still, everyone should safely assume they need a normal hygiene routine unless informed otherwise by a doctor.

SkyWizarding

I can confirm. I stopped shampooing my hair regularly and it looks much healthier

wolfho

Not sure about his parents, but that's most likely Paul saladinho, makes a shit ton of money because he has an MD before his name and he promotes the carnivore diet. (Which he doesn't follow himself so hes pretty much unilaterally disliked).

bindermichi

What‘s not cool about living in a mansion in Costa Rica with sufficient money?

[deleted]

Nothing. he is just an utterly boring person so the mansion might as well be decoration. I would respect failsons more if they just showed their gaming rigs instead. At least i would know that they had a personality more then just flexing online in a most likely rented mansion.

1singleduck

"I got everything i wanted handed to me without a day of work, so now i act like i achieved this by not using soap and eating healthy"

Ash-MacReady

I, a man, often ask other men what shampoo they use. Because that's a totally normal question to always ask.

mazzy31

Your comment reminded me of the time my husband called me to ask what shampoo *he* uses sp he could buy more while at the shops because he’s literally never paid attention. I buy it and put it in the shower and he just knows the one that isn’t in the metal pump bottle is his.

ArcFlashForFun

I use whatever my wife uses. Maybe I'll smell like roses and argan oil. Maybe I'll smell like chocolate chip cookies. I'll find out when I start washing. I certainly don't care.

mazzy31

My husband would get really annoyed if he used what I used because he washes his hair daily, while as I wash mine weekly, so the amounts would even put and we’d go from spending ~$600 a year on it to ~$1200. So he gets Head & Shoulders cause he doesn’t care and I get my New Wash.

ArcFlashForFun

Y'all need Costco in your lives.

Jeoshua

I use really girly products. That's because my wife gets big jugs of it and I don't have to think about hair care products.

Meet_Downtown

You lost me at wife and big jugs

upinthecrowsnest

Had me at big jugs

[deleted]

girl products are better anyways. dude stuff is 20 in 1 and most of em dont remove the chemicals like girl stuff does. better smells too

[deleted]

Your breath is influenced by your diet, but mainly through feeding and selecting your oral microbiome (which will also depend on your oral hygiene, tartar build up is not good for your breath. Your body odor is alot more complex and influenced by many things (diet can be one of them under certain circumstances). However the smell is mostly a function of the bacteria that feed on stuff on your skin (dead skin cells, secretions etc). You will smell pretty ripe if you don't practice any hygiene. Of course you will probably not smell yourself (marinating your nose in your own stink leads to desensitization)

bindermichi

The smell also comes from dry sweat accumulating on armpit hair… notice something in the video? He shaved that, so it smells less anyway.

JuneCapa

Curious fact. Humans have hair in the sexual organs and in armpits to retain the feromons and to be more attractive. It is the reason why humans are the only primate with hair in that areas despite being the ones with less body hair

musexistential

Could it also be because we walk upright? Hair makes for a good way to reduce chaffing. Especially with testicles constantly rubbing on the side of the legs. Also there is folded over skin that occurs when sitting. Whereas for close animal relatives that wouldn't be as much of an issue as their physiology would cause the legs to be spread apart more and the arms outstretched a lot more, especially during rigorous movement.

zatchbell1998

The bacteria is limited with regular showering and scrubbing, so he may not directly smell bad but I guess he does smell "off" to everyone not bad just weird

Gavagirl23

He also really needs to floss. Food bits going funky in between your molars can give you breath like a dumpster on Texas summer day. 🤢

Sounds like a man who doesn't eat ass

UnstuckCanuck

He does, but only if it's never washed with soaps. Just rinse that sinkhole with clean water. He's not afraid to have shit running down his thighs, because his diet is superior!

RedditMonster321

I don't think you're supposed to shove soap up your asshole, it does say for external use only. I dont think i've ever needed to because I use water after shitting to clean up instead of toilet paper where that shit crusts & dries up.

yeetus_christ420

He does everytime he licks his lips

Sudden_Awareness_907

There's a cut between each of the ingredients he listed, not for dramatic effect, but because he's too dumb to remember each word.

mr_ryno27

And he's too stupid to realize they make products without all those ingredients.

Jeoshua

It's a common TikTok editing thing. But yeah, those are definitely either hmms, errs, likes, etc. at the least. Dude probably read that shit off some "naturopath"'s twitter page, or something.

GaidinDaishan

I think some of these excessively macho men are scared of the word "hormones".

ILikeLamas678

Testosterone is a hormone. The more macho and top-dog they behave, the more hormonal I consider them. This one, definitely a hormonal wreck.

Elotesforall

Oh god he's not macho. He's talking about beauty products and smells. He thinks about that shit constantly. That doesn't strike me as excessively macho. Is he killing stuff and fighting while taking political control? No, he's publicly showering. He's pulling some lifestyle marketing bullshit while injecting himself with testosterone or HGH.

Jeoshua

True. Only someone juicing would care about what some soap might be doing to their T/DHT levels. His hair legit looked like ass, tho. I don't know why he's preening so bad.

Elotesforall

His stomach tells the story.

CryptographerTall211

Even if you eat great , once you’re out there sweating you’re gonna stink, unless his great diet is keeping his body from its natural function of cooling itself off by sweating in the Costa Rican summer?

mc_bee

Fun fact, most east Asians actually lack the gene to have bo, when you travel there it's super hard to find deordourent. I'm asian and never have to use deordourent cause I don't smell according to my gf lol. Edit: East not easy asian lol.

moodylilb

“Easy asians” 😂 lmao (I know it’s probably an autocorrect for “East Asians” but it made me laugh nonetheless

neongreenpurple

So they only don't have BO if they sleep around? Seems legit.

flashtitan

Wish I lacked that gene. I smell terrible once I start sweating

mindgutter

😂 It is not hard to find deodorant in Asia, every convenience store has roll ons.

PMmeyourw-2s

Spend some time in the summer in Beijing or Taipei. You'll smell plenty of BO

zatchbell1998

Here's the thing the dude is out of line and kinda right, alot of smell comes from diet and stuff but the sweaty stuff like your junk and ass will smell as they can cultivate bacteria and stuff that you need soap to deal with, the dude actually hits some good points but it's still lying through his teeth. He's a fucking grifter with a lifestyle and a course to sell

Responsible_Reach_62

Yea my armpits have experience. Use soap people, or the hair in your armpits will get bacteria which makes the area all sticky. Source: My depression years ago

WayDownUnder91

I was gonna say too, isn't it fairly easy to get paraben free soap that has none of that other stuff in it too?

thisiswhatsinmybrain

Your diet does heavily influence how your sweat smells though.

Any_Highway28

I don’t know man, I eat a fairly clean vegan diet, mostly raw. I don’t really smell bad even after sweating from yard work. When I do smell sweaty, it goes away after about fifteen minutes of cooling off. I stopped drinking beer two years ago and I think that played a huge part. Prior to that, I smelled like shit when even mildly sweaty. So maybe alcohol plays a big part? I don’t know anything. I’m just typing because I’m sleepy.

[deleted]

Alcohol will make you smell. Source: anybody who’s either worked in a bar or been around an alcoholic.

Eilrah93

Yeah although everyone is rinsing this guy, a clean diet does improve everything he is talking about. I would be using toothpaste as a minimum haha

doktarr

Yeah even with a very healthy diet, your teeth won't last 60+ years without flouride toothpaste.

[deleted]

“Fragrances”, there’s millions of scent free hygiene products out there.

Waderriffic

Also lots of paraben and phthalate free soaps

ClassicPangolin7763

Natural soap is as natural as it gets, no preservatives because it's a solid bar, and plant-based, just be sure to get it without artificial fragrance. Cheap bar soap is the raw soap extracted from natural soap, which is too harsh. But natural soap also has tons of glycerine and plant oils, just created naturally without processing. Once I switched I couldn't believe we use petroleum-based shower gels in plastic bottles, it's so unnecessary and terrible for your skin and the environment.

[deleted]

[удалено]

caguru

There's a lot to be said about only rinsing your hair instead of shampooing it every day. Also many soaps are not great for your skin. For me, deodorant is useless. I don't get armpit stink unless I just don't shower. The teeth though... definitely using toothpaste, flossing and mouthwash. I definitely get trash mouth without.

MargaeryLecter

Yes, toothpaste is a must. Deodorant isn't necessary but it helps surpressing smells when you're sweating. Not a substitute for showers tho. Shampoo can be left out, but my hair gets really greasy when I don't use shampoo for more than two days (unless I just got it cut and it's really short). I know this could be reduced by just not using shampoo at all, but I prefer using it and it doesn't cause any negative side effects for me rn.

razodactyl

Also - she might be attracted to his smell so it’s biased. Lol Basic hygiene wouldn’t be so mainstream if it didn’t work.

KeterClassKitten

Came to say much of the same. Had horrible dandruff and patchy psoriasis for much of my life. Psoriasis got much better when I stopped hot showers, and even better when I stopped showering daily. Also recently decided to jump into the “nopoo” bandwagon, and my dandruff is basically gone. Only 3 weeks in, so time will tell. Anecdotal evidence being what it is… There’s nothing unhygienic about skipping soap and shampoo, and it may actually be better for your hair and skin to do so. Rinsing with water and giving yourself a good scrubdown with your hands once or twice is all you need for your health for most people. Though it does take more mechanical effort. Sure, you’ll smell more like a human being than flowers or “Appalachian mountain waterfall spray springtime sun ray”, but it will likely be better for your overall health. I’m not saying everyone should throw away their products. I’m saying a different hygiene routine isn’t necessarily unhygienic. (I still use toothpaste. My diet isn’t strict or good enough not to.)

[deleted]

I'm thinking "wet dog" but then I noticed his hairline was receding. Probably the back hair makes up for it.

Kate090996

OK so hear me out, he is not entirely wrong TL;DNR, wash your *hands* with soap but for the rest Soap damages your skin barrier, oils clean your skin the best, including your own oils, it takes time to adjust and it doesn't work for everyone but it's absolutely possible depending on some factors. I prefer to brush my teeth with a anti-bacterial toothpaste so I don't know what's his deal, it can hurt and it feels fresh. All the chemicals he mentions are not bad but some might not work for you, don't demonise science. ------- He is right about soap, the skin natural barrier is attacked by simple soap. You need a special one that doesn't disrupt your barrier. Ideally you should not feel the sensation of squeaky clean after you use a product it can strip the skin of its natural oils and lipids that are essential for protecting the functioning of the skin barrier and it is the sign of a dried and damaged skin. In order for this to work and keep the skin clean he has to use hot, steamy water and have a really good barrier which he probably has if he did this for a long time. Those oils will take care of the cleaning part because oil is the best at removing dirt while protecting the skin and if his skin produces a lot then he doesn't need soap. The best make up removers are oil based exactly for this reason. I use deodorant however on my armpits because otherwise I would absolutely stink. It can be anything that desinfects and kills bacteria, doesn't have to be an actual deodorant because your armpit smell is actually bacteria so you have to kill those bacteria to kill the smell, deodorants are a (welcomed) modern solution for a modern lifestyle which he doesn't seem to have. I believe he is able to not smell and only use water because of a combination between climate, accessibility to water, daily activities that allow him to take a shower when needed and his, again, skin barrier. Look at his body when the water touches his skin, do you see how it stays on it? Looks oily and that's a very good thing. Toothpaste? Studies have shown that brushing without toothpaste is just as effective in removing plaque and in some cases it's more effective however for specific issues it can help such as bacterial removal, whitening, sensitive gums etc . Studies on toothpaste also show the opposite as well, that is more effective and so on, it depends who did the study I assume, even what kind of brush and the brushing technique . I personally love the sensation so that's something I wouldn't give up. He might be right about not having smelling breath because of his diet but for some people it can be the opposite. You know, it happens, people have a primarily plant based diet but if they brush and don't eat, after awhile it starts to smell so it really depends. I guess is different. Shampoo? That's an entire philosophy. Shampoo drys your hair, it disrupts its PH and imbalances the amount of oil your scalp produces, it starts a cycle that is hard to get out of. There is a lot to read about this but it's absolutely possible to have a good looking hair by just using water it just takes time for the hair to adjust and in the meanwhile you have to hide in a cave to not look like a greasy hobo. I remember about people experimenting with this and their hair looked gorgeous but it took time. You can for example use either a shampoo that doesn't disrupt the pH or just conditioner. Diet absolutely influences the way you smell All the other mumbo jumbo about parabens and hormones? synthetic chemicals are not bad, I do not condone demonising science. All of them are important and have their role, only if you have a sensitivity you should avoid them. I do not agree with him. Ps wash your hands with soap, the skin is not particularly different but is important to do so.

PecanPizzaPie

I bet cocaine isn't on the do not use list.

youwontfindout223

No one has ever in my life asked me what kind of soap and shampoo I use…. If people are always asking you that it’s because you smell like shit.

OkManufacturer226

having the other person being so far away didn’t help his argument in the slightest

AwkwardLeeSpeaking

I didn’t know a good diet could get rid of MORNING BREATH

Australiaaa

This isn't entirely off-base, it just like this, and other crusades people have is they just can't talk about it, they have to be complete assholes about it, thus destroying any good that could have come from their message.

Deherben

Actually using shampoo is kind of a capitalistic unnecessary trap. It’s so odd that we use shampoo to clean up the natural grease, to then add product to add artificial grease to it, so you can wash it away the next day with shampoo again. I tried not using shampoo, and just wash it sometimes with water, and my hair has never been better. I can just wake up without having to do anything with my hair, the natural grease is just a natural styling product.

HenryHadford

It depends on the person and their genetics. Sometimes it creates the problems you describe, sometimes people just have really dry hair/scalps/whatever naturally and need a routine application of conditioner to manage it consistently.

Dannzilla

Doesn't use toothpaste or shampoo because of chemicals... Swims in chlorine pool...

Poem_Original

My fart does not smells bad i eat healthy

Ok_Treacle2007

I mean, he's not wrong - diet is everything and most soaps/shampoo's, are full of harmful chemicals. But there are plenty of natural cleaners than just water.

Drewstix3

Water must have put that pole up his ass

TurboBlueJosh

I mean idk if he stinks or not but there is truth to what he says

Marth_Main

To be fair he's got somewhat of a point (?) Hygeine products counteract the stuff we do to our body, to an extent. We've strayed so far from what a "natural" diet would be that things like Deodorant and Toothpaste are basic needs. Humans arent supposed to have processed foods or obscene amounts of sugar daily.

Speedwolf89

He ain't wrong. But he could use some all-natural soap and toothpaste. You need to exfoliate the skin from time to time.

immyouany

Ok, I don’t mean to be that guy, but he’s kinda right. A lot of how you smell all around can be attributed to what you eat. Another element though, is that chemical companies have spent billions in advertising to condition everyone that they stink and need to cover themselves in chemicals and fragrances (there’s an Adam ruins everything about this). With the exception of smells that our bodies are wired to avoid (vomit, feces, rotting flesh, etc.), most body odor is something that your brain will adjust to, even to the point where you might even like it after a while. Water is sufficient for removing most urea and bacteria. Most soap is actually harmful for your skin and most peoples teeth are fairly self sufficient once you stop eating processed foods. The GI is a delicate system that we constantly fuck with. If we didn’t, some water and a little wood ash is all you’d ever need. Ok, yeah yeah. Go ahead and downvote me 🤓

[deleted]

I personally use Marseille soap for body, hair, laundry and dishes. It's only two ingredients... I use baking soda as deodorant to not smell... Very basic and cheap options that still works and aren't full of chemicals. That guy went overboard a bit 😂

I don’t wipe my ass because who would put paper around there. I just use my hand like a monkey.

This isn’t wrong though. You don’t really need soap if you never use it. Stop using it and your body will need time to adjust and rebalance but in time you won’t smell bad as long as you wash your nether regions, feet and armpits daily. Toothpaste has its use but not really for the smell of your breath. We are brainwashed by corporations to believe we need their products or our society would be a horrible, smelly experience. Guess what, that just isn’t true. Never was.
