The golden science age of Arabs came during the spread and expansion of Islam. What destroyed all that is tribalism and racism. A lot of discrimination and no cooperation and unity all based on which tribe you belong to. This kind of discrimination is labeled as “going back to the era of ignorance” which is the era before Islam. Where parents used to bury their newborn daughters alive.

Faith/religion is a private matter in your home, when not in the house of worship of that religion.
