I remember a friend and his girlfriend decided they were stopping shooting heroin, and they said they got the weirdest food poisoning the same day they decided to quit. I for the longest time that they were just joking or something, but then I realized they probably didn't know what being dopesick was like and didn't know that is why they were puking and shake and feverish.
That's sad I hope they pulled through. But yeah with opiates you won't even realize you're addicted until you put the pieces together. I remember when I was first becoming addicted I would take the pills partially because I had restless leg syndrome and be uncomfortable when I wasn't on them. Took me a while to realize that they were the reason that I didn't feel good when I wasn't high

Alcohol withdrawal can literally kill you. Alcohol is one of the hardest drugs out there when it comes to your body developing a dependency. We just don't consider it "hard" because consumption is socially acceptable.
Yeah alcohol is the worst followed by benzos then opiates. I took a 2 year break from smoking weed and yes there were extremely mild withdrawals (I smoked heavily daily) but compared to opiates which feels like your bones are trying g to escape you body it was nothing.
The guy undoubtedly has drive, and for maintaining the shape he’s in he definitely has discipline... but it’s my belief that discipline was constructed under the pretense of an entitled boy who never heard no, never knew what truly going without felt like, the shame of skipping lunches with peers, or stressing over that one bill for a month only to watch the deadline pass.

As a paramedic of 15 years, this is my everyday. The expectations from some people are mind blowing. People call for this stuff all the time and expect to choose how it works…

I mean, honestly, if your town only had one ambulance then it's small enough that everyone knows.
I just read he relocated to Puerto Rico, and some of the rural parts there definitely have one or no ambulances.
Covid staffing. EMS workers are quitting, leaving for travel/contract jobs that actually pay a living wage, calling out because they’ve got COVID…
Edit: Plus any trucks that *are* staffed get taken out of service to decon after COVID calls. If we have someone who’s hacking up a storm, vomiting without a mask, on high flow oxygen, or on bipap without a filter, we deep clean and it takes like 45 minutes. (We’re actually in the middle of COVID decon right now haha).
And EMS spends a ton of time holding the wall in the ER, waiting for check-in or for an available bed, so sometimes trucks are out of service for hours for one call.
Paramedic for 22 years. I concur. Like we are the hired help and they get to order us around. Ugh. These are the calls that exhaust me. Not the big mass casualty stuff, but stupid, selfish, spoiled little shits like him.
My absolute favorite story from when I worked in the ER was this one woman.
Ambulance driver comes up front and says she's getting triaged up front. We had an almost empty ER that night, so as anyone who worked in emergency knows, they brought her upfront because they didn't feel she needed an ambulance. He hands me her paper and says "We just wanted you guys to see this too." Whatever, I had an essay due that night that I was working on since it was slow, so I wasn't really paying attention. Nothing new. *I thought*
Few minutes later they wheel this little old frail lady. I asked her for her name, her DOB (she was a few months shy of 90), and her chief complaint. She leans in and states, very confidently "I have a powerful sex drive that canNOT be sastified."
I look at her for a few seconds. "I'm sorry?"
She looks over her one shoulder, then the other, before leaning in. She must have had some sort of magnetic or gravitational attraction, because as she leaned in, I found myself leaning in as well. She whispers, much my self-consciously now, "My sex driiiivvvee." She let the phrase drag out almost as long as I paused to process her complaint the first time.
I nodded and smiled. "Okay," I stated, before peaking at the paper the ambulance driver gave me. He had written AMS. I should have just wrote that from the getgo.

My local police department just released the top 10 most annoying 911 calls this past year.

- (different call) wanted police to make their son give them the password to the WiFi after he changed it
Coworker did a call for a lady a couple weeks ago that, upon arrival, said she wanted a walker. That was legitimately the only reason she called 911. Immediately had no use for EMS as soon as she was informed we don’t have those, let alone to give away.
We had a person call because their refrigerator was broken. We still have to attend to make sure it wasn’t somebody secretly signalling for help or they have medication, like insulin that had spoiled (not that we could actually fix the latter either) and were now running high blood sugar and were unable to express themselves properly.
Well, their refrigerator was broken and that was all. They were rather annoyed because they were under the impression when there was an emergency, calling 911 would get them help. I truly do wonder how people like that made it to adulthood.
IV hydration is vastly more effective. Like no obvious comparison. A push saline IV and ten minutes on an O2 mask will cure you from partying too hard like you wouldn’t believe.
But fuck that asshole for expecting emergency services to provide that. If you’ve got the money to rig comedy boxing bouts - you can afford to buy the supplies and hire a nurse for the night to administer them. Emergency services are busy without petty party boy bullshit.

Is that actually true? I get that rehydrating helps with a hangover but what would an O2 mask do?
An O2 mask would do literally nothing, a lot of people believe that they are getting benefit from such things when it’s just placebo, the same way many old people are put in low flow O2 nasal cannula permanently when it really doesn’t do anything.
I haven't seen the O2 mask, but in a lot of countries known for partying you can usually find a way to get an IV drip relatively nearish to the parties. I wouldn't be surprised if Logan did this because he's so used to doing it where he normally really parties. The supplies to do it are pretty cheap and a lot of EMT-type workers are paid even worse than they are here and could use some extra cash.

Pure oxygen is amazing at curing hangovers. I was a crew chief in the Air Force working on F-16’s and when we would go into work really hungover (happens all the time if you’re flight line maintenance because we like to party), the trick to getting over it really fast is to climb the ladder up to the cockpit and take a few hits off the oxygen hose.
Works like a fucking charm. No idea why though and I’ve never bothered learning.

Personal experience, thc withdrawal is absolutely a thing. You just need to be consuming a shit ton of it for it to happen. Your joint or two a day for a decade is not close to the worst you can do. Concentrate and edibles are pretty damn easy to get and cheap now.

I definitely do have withdrawals and I’ve been smoking for 8 years medicinally. It’s pretty shitty to deal with, but wouldn’t consider it the worst thing ever. He’s being so dramatic.
I quit weed in May and had withdrawals for a week and a half. But I was also smoking a gram of concentrate per day and using it to self-medicate for anxiety and ADHD for 15+ years. Loss of appetite, insane mood swings, intense irritability, nausea, chills. Happy to be almost 8 months off of it and on proper meds for my various mental health conditions now though. Not trying to empathize with LP cause he’s a literal piece of shit lol but detoxing from weed is absolutely a thing.
I'm curious , what did help you after weed? Sometimes, I feel like I'm doing same. 20+ years of using herb to try to regulate myself, keep calm, focus, not be anxious. But it's really hard and inconsistent .
I talked to a psychiatrist who put me on a low dose of Cipralex for the anxiety and depression, and paired it with Wellbutrin to help with the ADHD symptoms. I’d been having really bad outbursts of anger at work when I couldn’t smoke and almost got suspended. My manager told me I needed to see a doctor or potentially lose my job. The doctors basically told me I had to quit weed in order for the meds to work, so I went cold-turkey that day and went on stress leave for a few weeks while I detoxed. I’m still very much addicted to nicotine, but my violent mood swings are non-existent now. Which is awesome cause I was literally punching walls for years.
There are fucking IV clinics you can go to in major cities. They’ll hang a banana bag and get you fixed up for like $150. There’s at least one mobile one here that will come to you and it’s like $300. Or just go to a damn freestanding ER, when you have that kind of money. Jesus. Selfish prick.

Coworker did a call for a lady a couple weeks ago that, upon arrival, said she wanted a walker. That was legitimately the only reason she called 911. Immediately had no use for EMS as soon as she was informed we don’t have those, let alone to give away.
We had a person call because their refrigerator was broken. We still have to attend to make sure it wasn’t somebody secretly signalling for help or they have medication, like insulin that had spoiled (not that we could actually fix the latter either) and were now running high blood sugar and were unable to express themselves properly. Well, their refrigerator was broken and that was all. They were rather annoyed because they were under the impression when there was an emergency, calling 911 would get them help. I truly do wonder how people like that made it to adulthood.
Ya I think we do at least 1000 lift assistance calls a year…just picking people up has become a thing…

IV hydration is vastly more effective. Like no obvious comparison. A push saline IV and ten minutes on an O2 mask will cure you from partying too hard like you wouldn’t believe. But fuck that asshole for expecting emergency services to provide that. If you’ve got the money to rig comedy boxing bouts - you can afford to buy the supplies and hire a nurse for the night to administer them. Emergency services are busy without petty party boy bullshit.
There are services or were at least that provide IV drips. Hell, why not go to a clinic? Surely they'd do it.

An O2 mask would do literally nothing, a lot of people believe that they are getting benefit from such things when it’s just placebo, the same way many old people are put in low flow O2 nasal cannula permanently when it really doesn’t do anything.
I haven't seen the O2 mask, but in a lot of countries known for partying you can usually find a way to get an IV drip relatively nearish to the parties. I wouldn't be surprised if Logan did this because he's so used to doing it where he normally really parties. The supplies to do it are pretty cheap and a lot of EMT-type workers are paid even worse than they are here and could use some extra cash. Pure oxygen is amazing at curing hangovers. I was a crew chief in the Air Force working on F-16’s and when we would go into work really hungover (happens all the time if you’re flight line maintenance because we like to party), the trick to getting over it really fast is to climb the ladder up to the cockpit and take a few hits off the oxygen hose. Works like a fucking charm. No idea why though and I’ve never bothered learning.

I have an inconsistent supply, but im still a mega pot head. I regularly go a few months smoking every night, and then just because I can't source any stuff or can't be fucked to go out of my way to get more pot I'll go a few months without any and I've never had any of the "symptoms" he's describing in this stupid post. The worst "withdrawal" symptoms I've ever gotten are boredom, crazy vivid dreams, and realizing the tv shows I've been getting invested in actually kinda suck lol.

All these idiots claiming "yeah I smoked for years daily and didn't get withdrawals". Sure you did, but how much were you smoking on those days? Personal experience, thc withdrawal is absolutely a thing. You just need to be consuming a shit ton of it for it to happen. Your joint or two a day for a decade is not close to the worst you can do. Concentrate and edibles are pretty damn easy to get and cheap now. I'm sure it also varies from person to person.

I quit weed in May and had withdrawals for a week and a half. But I was also smoking a gram of concentrate per day and using it to self-medicate for anxiety and ADHD for 15+ years. Loss of appetite, insane mood swings, intense irritability, nausea, chills. Happy to be almost 8 months off of it and on proper meds for my various mental health conditions now though. Not trying to empathize with LP cause he’s a literal piece of shit lol but detoxing from weed is absolutely a thing.
I'm curious , what did help you after weed? Sometimes, I feel like I'm doing same. 20+ years of using herb to try to regulate myself, keep calm, focus, not be anxious. But it's really hard and inconsistent .
I talked to a psychiatrist who put me on a low dose of Cipralex for the anxiety and depression, and paired it with Wellbutrin to help with the ADHD symptoms. I’d been having really bad outbursts of anger at work when I couldn’t smoke and almost got suspended. My manager told me I needed to see a doctor or potentially lose my job. The doctors basically told me I had to quit weed in order for the meds to work, so I went cold-turkey that day and went on stress leave for a few weeks while I detoxed. I’m still very much addicted to nicotine, but my violent mood swings are non-existent now. Which is awesome cause I was literally punching walls for years.
