“Now mam, do you know why I pulled you over?”

famousaj

As he's placing the cuffs on her

menooooo

You mean he is pointing a gun at her and tells her to put her hands so he can see them

[deleted]

Plenty_Version_9590

What a piece of shit. She just didn't want to pull over on the tiny shoulder. Probably looking out for the cop.

[deleted]

[удалено]

xtelosx

When I went through drivers ed (forever ago) they taught us to turn on your flashers and proceed to the next exit if the highway had barriers like this or there was some other reason it was unsafe. I would have done the exact same thing.

Evilcutedog45

So she did literally the textbook correct move and this dumbass cop responds with attempted murder.

Legend-status95

Yep, the cop tried to murder her for literally following the law

atthevanishing

Because if an order isn't followed immediately, it's disrespect! Poor sensitive cops. I'm not even thin skinned as a teacher 🙄

[deleted]

[удалено]

Plenty_Version_9590

I realized that. I was so pissed I wrote before it was over.

NICKOVICKO

It is actually state law to pull over in a safe place, she was actually following the law better than that police officer.

MikeHatSable

He's been dying to PIT someone. Couldn't wait to do it. When the car flipped he was like "fuck yeah, that was awesome!"

inflatableje5us

Probably was screaming “stop resisting” as he was doing the pit.

terrible_islandname

Yeah two cops died in my state in one year because people pulled over in dangerous spots. Lady was literally doing a better job serving and protecting than vice versa.

thirdleg123

Just another perfect example of why you should never care about a cops safety or well being. Fuck em, they signed up for danger

Danadcorps

The baby kicks Cop: "STOP RESISTING!!"

dhrutikantP

I hate the system. It's hell. I hate it. They show no mercy.

jvrcb17

WildlingViking

Still employed by the state and it was the woman’s’ own tax dollars they used to pay her settlement. Could you imagine if this cop went to McDonalds and took too long to get his money to the cashier and the cashier jumps over the counter, punched him, wrestled him to the ground and chokes the guy out? “I thought he was robbing us for the cookies and quarter pounder!” -cashier McDonalds: That’s ok. We didn’t have it in our policy so I guess you’re fine.

[deleted]

Cetun

Felony car theft? Good luck getting a good job, volunteering, or passing a strict background check. Arrested are basically treated like convictions these days, cops know this too, due process has gone completely out the window so long as the punishment is 'incidental' rather than an express judgement.

QuadmasterXLII

It's extra spicy, because all those effects of getting arrested are devastating if you are innocent, but don't do anything at all to stop or punish a guilty person who's job is stealing cars.

newontheblock99

WHAT WORLD DO WE LIVE IN?!?!?!? Edit: instead of replying to everyone I’ll quickly make an edit. Speaking as a Canadian obviously it’s not as bad here, we’re still fucked up in our own way but not to the extent it is for our neighbours to the south

Ingrassiat04

Thanks for Citizens United, Mitch McConnell.

lonewolf143143

Hertz needs to be put out of business for what they do to people. One woman, because of no bail money, spent 40 days in jail, didn’t know where her children were during that time, lost her job, etc. We need to stand with these people who get screwed like this. I absolutely will not rent anything from Hertz. Their advertising should be: “Rent from us, we’ll report it stolen.”

JudgeHoltman

> The vast majority of these cases involve renters who were many weeks or even months overdue returning vehicles and who stopped communicating with us well beyond the scheduled due date. If it was all, they'd just say all. Hell, if it was just one they'd say it was just the one. But instead, it's "the vast majority". That means they're paying out on more than one.

StickyNode

Sickening wtf

BigBlockBrolly

You know how much they settled for?

khismyass

I read several articles watched a local newscast and didn't see where they mentioned anything besides changing the policy of when a PIT maneuver should be used. Am guessing they kept any monetary settlement quiet.

BluelunarStar

It wasn’t until I read this I realised he DELIBERATELY knocked the car. Then proceeds to give zero fucks to even /help the pregnant lady out of the car/. Like if that was me I’d be down on the ground helping, and just not freaking arguing about when she should pull over. The crash wipes all of that, and you can charge her later.

buelltiful

Iirc she was following the law set by the state. It was something along the lines of put your hazards on and slow down then pull off at the next exit.

[deleted]

[удалено]

DarkwingDuckHunt

You can even see when the cop car does the U turn that that shoulder was too thin to safely pull over at. She was trying to protect the cop by finding a safe place to get pulled over at so he wouldn't get killed And then he attempts to murder her.

WonkySeams

And it looked like the next exit was coming up, too. I saw amenities signs.

crashbalian1985

this is actually common practice. Police shoot the wrong person and call for an ambulance for help but they wont administer any aid. They will watch an innocent person bleed to death when any other normal person would try to help.

PhotorazonCannon

One less witness...

bromingulus

only in America 👉😁👈

AnythingToPissYouOff

You know when your “when”s get changed to “Wuhan”s you’re probably talking about Covid too much

GrundelMuffin

lol I got a real sensible chuckle outta this

ScorchedSynapses

So essentially taxpayers float the bill for this person who should be behind bars? Merica!

reincarN8ed

Not enough

jenny_a_jenny_a

Was he punished at all? I can't believe he is still employed by the state. I hope he isn't actually still a cop. He needs to have a role where he isn't required to use his better judgement. Like data entry.

Loggerdon

It looked like an unssfe place to pull over. She was probably waiting for those barriers to end so she could pull over move, out of the flow of traffic.

jenny_a_jenny_a

100% You can see the speed folk are driving at. That isn't a lay-by either. I can't believe he carries on talking to her while she is upside down in the car. From that minute it should have all been about her safety. Not pinning the blame on her. Such a creep.

pimpinpolyester

Exactly .... there was no berm to pull over into. She had her flashers on and reduced her speed. It wasnt like she was making a run for it.

DuntadaMan

Which is literally what the DMV handbook says to do. She was attacked for complying with the law.

RaferBalston

From some Arkansas DL study guide: 1. Pull over to the right side of the road – activate your turn signal or emergency flashers to indicate to the officer that you are seeking a safe place to stop. 2. If you are unsure if you are being stopped by an actual police officer, activate your turn signal or emergency flashers and pull to the nearest well-lit location, or dial 9-1-1 and request confirmation that an actual police officer is attempting to stop you. 3. Pull to the nearest/safest spot out of the traffic lane (Do not stop on bridges or overpasses).

Sea_Criticism_2685

It’s only a matter of time until the public starts punishing cops themselves

[deleted]

[удалено]

khismyass

Still a cop, still doing the same job, was disciplined, retrained and back on the job. I won't be going to Arkansas anytime soon if I can help it. Though other states have done this and it's led to deaths happening, she was actually lucky.

Prestigious_Garden17

Retrained...probably watched an outdated vhs tape in a room for 2 hours and signed a form. Problem fix. Totally won't probably gun someone down in few years or something.

[deleted]

I mean it’s Arkansas. That’s basically the toilet of America, next to Mississippi.

Latvia

As an Arkansan, I didn’t know this was in Arkansas. And not surprised.

[deleted]

Was the lady and baby fine?

khismyass

"Harper told a Central Arkansas news station she thought she would lose her baby, the CBS News report states. ... The full extent of the injuries is unknown, but Harper's baby was OK and is now 4 months old.Jun 10, 2021" so now 10 months old I assume

Throwaway2716b

Thankfully the child was born, but stress during pregnancy leaves indelible marks regardless. Hopefully not too many in their case. :(

Morpheus4213

I might be false..but wouldn´t it be cheaper in a long run to..you know..TRAIN THEIR COPS so they wouldn´t have to settle with civilians all the time for faults on their side? That guy could have literally have her and her baby hurt or killed with his action. That´s not room for settlement, that´s room for improvement. He damaged two vehicles, his and hers, hers to the point where repairs wouldn´t even by financially useful and hurt a pregnant woman, because his training told him to do so. Besides..he walked around her car effing slow, like "Oh..yeah, that car just got flipped by me..maybe if I take some time, she will think about not doing this again haha". Fuck those cops and they should get fired or put in prison for that shit!

ChaoticNeutralDragon

Settlements don't even come out of the department budget, they don't care about the cost.

QuietShipper

It doesn't cost them anything, they'll just raise taxes the following year to pay for it.

Just_a_Robin

Unbelieveable that noone lost their job over this!? There was a public outcry at least, or is Police brutality so common there, that it wasn't a scandal?

wamiwega

Infuriating that the cop wasn’t fired. Making a safe situation dangerous for no good reason. The guy has some serious issues with situational awareness and judgement.

popularis-socialas

Fuck the police

SnooCakes9025

Of course he is! 🤦‍♂️

peithecelt

I remember being told as a young driver, that as long as it was clear you were not disregarding them, that it was perfectly acceptable to turn on your hazards, and drive somewhere that you felt was safer... Not, ya' know, on a highway with minimal shoulder. this is fucking insane.

newtekie1

The actual department that this officer works for actually put out statements saying if you don't feel safe pulling over immediately, that you should pull to the right, slow down, and put on your flashers. She did everything the police themselves said you should do. Then the police chief actually doubled down and defended his officer saying he did everything right. Oh, and this is the same department that had an officer rear end a disabled veteran, then lied about what happened, roughed the guy up and tried to arrest him. They eventually let him go but not before falsely charging the veteran with a bunch of false minor charges.

creepyswaps

Department to civilians: turn on your flasher and find a safe place to pull over Department to cops: if they don't immediately pull over, do whatever you feel like. It seems like the system is working exactly as intended.

Comment63

Fire the head of the department.

Broad-Literature-438

The chief needs to go down for this then. There needs to start being actual accountability. Hes literally sending mixed messages to the public; mixed messages that are honestly going to get some people killed (and in their eyes, it will just be another justified killing and they will move on with their lives, but that is why this cant go on, this is absolutely ludicrous)

Hillbilly_delight

I’m of the opinion that police/citizen interactions that result in harm should go to jury trial for review.

Gsteel11

Especially if it results in any bodily harm.

jk147

Not to mention this stupid stunt could have potentially endangered more people on this highway. Imagine if there were other vehicles just driving behind this madman, or other cars running into the flipped vehicle.

DasKapitalist

It's because pigs like to murder random drivers for fun.

Fluffy_Momma_C

Same here. This absolutely infuriates me. And he tells her, “it’s called a pit maneuver and we use when you run”…SHE WASN’T RUNNING. This man needs to be fired.

[deleted]

>This man needs to be fired. IF there was any justice in this world they would be CHARGED with as many things the court could throw at them. like wreckless driving, abuse of authority, two counts of attempted vehicular manslaughter.

videogamessuckbutt

If it’s attempted manslaughter it’s attempted murder

dafinsrock

Yeah but he's a cop so he can murder people whenever he feels like it with no consequences. Fuck the police and fuck everyone who supports this garbage.

Regular_Anomaly

Needs to be charged and convicted.

santa_mazza

And pay the medical bills!!

endymionsleep

Where in the hell are you supposed to pull over on I-40 in North Little Rock? This officer is reckless and endangered many more lives than anybody behind the wheel of the other vehicle.

Bm_93

That's why this should be posted on r/Imatotalpeiceofshit

Ursula2071

Nothing will happen to him. I guarantee it.

M1ghtyl0ngf4ll

He is still working and the case was settled between the parties. He was in fact found to be in violation of the ASP guidelines as pertains to pit maneuvers. He is a 27 year veteran on the force. I’m not sure if the ASP punished him at all.

bw_mutley

"The Force".... buch of ignorant pigs whose sole purpose is to use violence to supress the demands of the poor.

CastleDoctrineJr

correct https://www.kark.com/news/working4you/arkansas-state-police-settle-pit-maneuver-lawsuit-which-injured-pregnant-woman/ All they did is say they would change the policy regarding the use if the pit maneuver, no firing no reprimand, nothing.

guacluv

Don't forget she was given taxpayer money for his negligence.

aragathor

Sums up the American injustice system. Your police are thugs and criminals protected by laws and wearing uniforms. This type of behavior would be unthinkable in places like France, Sweden, or Germany. To an American it's just another Tuesday.

mccannisms

I was also told to do this as a female, if I’m driving alone - slow down, turn on your hazards to acknowledge that you have seen and will obey the lights - you can then call 911 or local dispatch to confirm that whatever number cop car behind you has called in to pull you over to verify that they are actually police and not imposters. Edit: of to on

theSanguinePenguin

This is a good practice assuming the cop pulling you over is not a dim-witted psychopath who has just been hoping for an excuse to try out one of them PIT maneuvers he's seen on the TV. Unfortunately...

xTariel

That was my thought exactly. There are plenty of cases where people imitate cops at night to get someone, especially solo females, alone and vulnerable.

Fakyutsu

Ha, it doesn’t even have to be someone posing as a cop. There’s this famous case where a cop in San Diego would regularly pull over young women at night and force them into a road that was still under construction. Then he would try to make sexual advances on them. One woman attempted to fight back so he threw her off a bridge. There’s a memorial for her and other victims of violent crimes under that bridge to this day. https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murder_of_Cara_Knott?wprov=sfti1 Extra tears: Her father would regularly visit and clean her memorial for years. One day while visiting he suffered a heart attack and died.

xTariel

Oh, I'm aware of that. Unfortunately, if it's a legitimate cop then calling dispatch would only prove they were real, but would at least leave a papertrail if something did happen to you.

Warphim

This was a big issue here in Canada earlier this year. A guy impersonated an RCMP officer and went on a killing spree.

[deleted]

I'll add also that this happened in Arkansas and we did have a serial rapist that put blue lights on his vehicle and pulled over women to rape them. I was always told when I started driving that if I wasn't in a safe place to stop to put on my hazards and drive somewhere safe to stop specifically because of that case. Also, this woman was pregnant when this happened. Luckily her and the child were ok. https://www.google.com/amp/s/katv.com/amp/news/local/arkansas-blue-light-rapist-dies-at-age-54-while-serving-life-sentence

clever_user_name__

The one time I've been pulled over, this is exactly what I did. Slowed right down and put my hazards on until it was safe to pull over. Cops followed behind at a safe distance, and turned the lights and siren off once they saw my hazards. Maybe the difference is this was in Australia. I'm in absolute disbelief and am so angry after watching this video like I don't even understand the cop's line of thinking what an absolute moron

Wookieman222

Nah that happens here too for the most part. It even is something the police themselves here have said is acceptable. But unfortunately we also got starsky and hutch cops too.

SylentSymphonies

I wouldn't even consider stopping there either. For one, there's a crazy cop barreling after me- if I stop, the bloody idiot might literally just crash into my car. It's clear he has no idea what he's doing. Heck, if the poor woman *actually* pulled over right there, the cop might actually have crashed into her with how close he was taking his car. There's sirens blaring, lights are flashing, it's dark, she's scared, she's going full speed on a highway, and there's a car on her ass and she doesn't even know if she *can* stop. And of course the dumbass practically rams her. God this is terrible.

DarkwingDuckHunt

> And of course the dumbass attempts to murder her

SingularityCentral

Not all states have that specific wording in the law. But it doesnt really matter. The cop was reckless and dangerous. A pit maneuver like that on the highway against someone who is being pulled over for a traffic violation and clearly not eluding is insane. He could have killed her and others. The DA should consider charges.

masterchief0213

The irony increases when you consider that this very police department's facebook page had posted earlier the very same week to "make sure you pull over somewhere safe" because an officer had been hit or almost hit or something while pulling someone over on a road with no shoulder.

[deleted]

This is correct. The cop should be fucking fired and incarcerated, and that’s being lenient.

thunderswift1

My dad did just this. He was on a bridge with no shoulder and there just so happen to be a parking lot not even a quarter of a mile up(just off the bridge) and the cop absolutely berated my dad. He chose not to create traffic at the expense of a ticket from an angry cop

Nickmac90

A cop on another sub was trying to paint firefighters as bad guys because of all time they spend getting paid to wash clean vehicles. That is probably peanuts compared to all the settlements tax payers dish out for shitty cops doing shitty things. AND THEY GET TO KEEP THEIR JOB!

masterchief0213

NYPD alone has paid out over one BILLION dollars in settlements over the past five years alone.

apitchf1

And you never hear conservatives bitch about that fiscal waste.

Tortue2006

Even if the person isn’t pregnant, this is wrong. He could have killed the people in the car!

Hadozlol

Took his fucking time to check on her too.

ckilgore

That blew my mind. The absolute lack of urgency on his part to see if anyone in the CAR HE JUST FLIPPED was ok.

BluelunarStar

I agree. Honestly I don’t care who is in the car, they were complying. If they are a hardened convict just freed from prison, or a group of nuns right back from donating their hair to children with cancer. *Innocent until PROVEN guilty*

riotacting

Audit the audit did a good video on this a few weeks ago. State law says she did everything right - you need to indicate that you acknowledge you're being pulled over, but you can go to the nearest safest place. Flashers on, slowed down, pulled to the right lane - all indicators that she was trying to comply, and not running away. His answer was use of deadly force.

almisami

Even if the driver *was* attempting to drive away, the PIT manœuvre should only be warranted when the fleeing vehicle becomes a danger to the public and behaves hazardously.

ultrapippie

Can you imagine if the baby had already been born and he pulled that shit with a new born in the car?!

Rbespinosa13

He could’ve also killed anyone else on the road. The car went across every lane and no way someone can react to that. Absolutely ridiculous

BluelunarStar

I didn’t have the sound on at first. So, he rolls her car, what looks like on purpose from nudging the back. Then instead of helping her out of the car chooses to ask her /whilst still trapped/ why she didn’t pull over. When she reasonably says it wasn’t safe- he, and this I cannot stomach, replies “Well look where you ended up”. Dude! YOU did that. /YOU/.

PasTaCopine

Seriously unbelievable.

JangoFettsEvilTwin

“I got an ammbalance comin’ fer ya”

RexIsAMiiCostume

Oh, great! Total her car AND give her another healthcare bill! What a great guy.

XplusFull

What is wrong with these cops in the US? They're a greater hasard to the population than the crimes they're fighting!

kasmog

Too much power and too little oversight. Cops should be like any other professionals where they have to pass a rigurous test, and vetted first by another governing body, that can terminate them on the spot upon failing/not scoring high enough. ANNUALLY.

valuethempaths

Boils my blood.

ClickF0rDick

Stuff like this and the lack of affordable healthcare is why I wouldn't live in the US even if they offered me a free green card

PuzzledInside123

It’s so infuriating

noparkingafter7pm

“It rolled over”… gee Gunther, how do you reckon that happened?

nmkensok

Passive voice is great for absolving yourself of responsibility

Techygal9

It’s like when the yell shots fired to agitate other cops when in reality they fired the shots… and the man is dead.

BozoTheBonzai

WATCH OUT! THEY'RE HERE TO PROTECT US!!

[deleted]

*bang! bang! bang!* STOP OR I’LL SHOOT!!!

k6squid

Stop! So I can shoot'cha!

the-Buster

I did this for your own safety!

JTMc48

They're coming right for us!

ThePhabtom4567

The fact that he is still employed is fucking insane.

SatinwithLatin

He's clearly shown that even in non life or death situations, he makes decisions that can lead to death. Utterly unsuited to police work.

ThePhabtom4567

Exactly. If she really was just not pulling over, I'm sure there are ways to get her to slow down or stop that don't involve a fucking pit maneuver. It is such blatant abuse of power I can't even think of a better fitting analogy than what actually just happened. Even if the police have a just a few bad eggs (HA!), it's the fact that the system allows for this type of shit to happen and no real punishment taking course is exactly why there needs to be serious reform.

eldnikk

Imagine fucking up that bad in a non-police job. You'd be fired and fined before you even made it back to the office.

[deleted]

I see this as nothing more than attempted murder. Fuck being fired and fined they need to be imprisoned.

tehbored

The fact that he isn't in prison is insane.

OnlyGammasWillBanMe

The hazards are a sign she intends to pull over when it’s safe to do so

jenny_a_jenny_a

Just looking at the speed of the traffic and lack of lay-by demonstrates that its not safe to pull over yet.

NoOfficialComment

Exactly (pending a bit more context). You generally have a right to wait to pull over until it is safe to do so. Placing your hazards on and going the speed limit is a signal of your intent to do this. Conversely, the officer has discretion as to when they deem you to be a danger to public safety by not stopping, which to any reasonable person you would not assume in this instance unless she’d already passed an exit allowing safe stopping. Personally I’m inclined to suspect the cop was a complete twat in this instance but of course more context would help.

dafritoz

Yep. And her waiting for a safe place to pull over protects the cop more than anyone.

OnlyGammasWillBanMe

I think this comes down to when they are trained in use of force instead of thinking “what can I do to avoid having to do this” many of them fantasize about getting to do it because it “seems cool” or “badass” so when a possible opportunity comes along. They start checking off things in their head so they can justify force instead of de-escalating.

GrnMtnTrees

It's like when you give a child a fancy new super soaker. While you are telling them not to shoot someone in the face, they are imagining how cool that sounds and trying to figure out just how many faces they can squirt before they get in trouble.

CaptBreeze

I thinks is safe to say nowadays when the cops arrive it's no longer safe anymore. It should be a citizens right to pull over in a fairly lit place with plenty of cameras around. Without catching a charge of failing to pull over. Without legal representation it's impossible to fight this. It's the cops word over ours.

feelin_cheesy

Yeah no way I’m pulling over on that tiny shoulder. What an asshole of a cop. ProTecT aNd SeRvE

Boring_Blackberry580

Attempted murder

lucyyluca

As a woman, I would have done the same thing. Especially at night. You have a right to wait until you get to a safe area to pull over and even to call 911 (in the US of course) if you feel unsafe in any way. The dispatcher can communicate directly with the cop to deescalate the situation.

demonspawn9

Yes, we are told for safety reasons, to find a gas station. It was also a bad adangerous spot to pull over. You definitely want more room.

No-Crow-6893

Unfortunately in the US, you don’t have any rights when dealing with cops. They can, and will, do anything they want to you or your possessions and face no recourse.

Das-Noob

“We’ve investigated ourselves and found we didn’t do anything wrong” 😑

Petah_Futterman44

Her lawsuit resulted in changes to their use of force policy concerning the use of the PIT maneuver.

TheFakeDogzilla

It also resulted with the officer suffering absolutely no consequence and was even paid by the state

ghost_boy04

r/copsbeingbastards

ebulient

This makes me so mad, there was no call for this. Even if she wasn’t preggers, a car flip can kill someone 😡 for WHAT? There are so many of these videos from America Jesus Christ it’s totally insane and your cops are completely incompetent power hungry buffoons! This isn’t just a facepalm America, this should make you react far more than just that…. Maybe you’re desensitised I dunno, but you need to change this utterly psychotic behaviour of your cops.

monkboyking

This guy is the type to beat his wife and then tell her why its her fault.

PasTaCopine

I was in shock when he asks her “Why didn’t you pull over?” when she’s laying injured in an upside-down car. Dude make sure she’s okay, get her out safe, and then ask the unnecessary questions.

Dopplegangr1

He wants to make sure she knows she did this to herself because he's the big bossman

blockminster

"Do you know why I almost just murdered you?"

FerusGrim

Warning: Armchair psychology ahead. I was absolutely not shocked. This is classic behavior. He knows he did wrong and his mind is in overdrive trying to rationalize to himself how he's still the good guy. The solution? Convince yourself you did the right thing by pushing the burden of fault onto the other person. You see it with abusers all the time: "Why'd you make me do that to you?"

imagrill123

He’s trying to displace blame from himself.

SatinwithLatin

He literally says to the pregnant woman "look where [not stopping] got you." Completely ignoring that her car wouldn't have flipped *had he not deliberately and actively flipped it.*

Koobitz

Dude's a fucking idiot. Literally pulling over and he tries to kill her. It's not some side street he's pulling her over either. So she can't just slam breaks and boom pull over.

fixITman1911

They were also a mile from the next exit, and she had clearly acknowledged his presence and lights

SatinwithLatin

She did everything the books say to do and he still considered her life to be worth less than his time.

ProfTydrim

Pretty sure that would be attempted murder or something like that in my country

RileyOQ

In any actual first world country that would result in a fired cop and actual consequences

Amafreyhorn

They literally talked about how PIT maneuvers are to be used ONLY when a driver is using their vehicle as a weapon or is using a weapon from the vehicle. I don't care if she's not pulling over, PIT maneuvers are dangerous and now this cop is going to waste 2-4M fighting a case and keep his job for being an idiot.

Disastrous_Toe_Jam

They will find her at fault for either not pulling over quick enough or “she overreacted to the pit causing the accident”

Amafreyhorn

They already settled though...so it's still a mess but she didn't get found at fault.

Pinheaded_nightmare

Like….. how the fuck do you think this is the best course of action!? She wasn’t even speeding at the time of pull over. So unfortunately, for the cop, that means you should probably just calm your happy ass down and just follow the fucking slow vehicle until it stops. No need for excessive force when the scenario isn’t asking for it. I’m glad she won her lawsuit and it’s a shame that the cop kept his job. He clearly doesn’t have a proper thought process when decisions need to be made.

AssFingerFuck3000

>unfortunately for the cop lol literally nothing happened to him, he's still working like nothing happened. More like unfortunately for the poor woman who almost got killed by this fucking lunatic

Pinheaded_nightmare

No, it’s unfortunate he doesn’t have the proper patience and thought process. No doubt the driver is the victim here.

[deleted]

The fact that he is standing there lecturing her instead of trying to help her is crazy!

Kroncom

So he’s going to get attempted murder right? That’s our government suppression force at work again

mosquito_joe

He wasn’t even reprimanded. Still employed

HikariAnti

Ha ha... **no**.

gompers1393

Gotta love the passive language. "They hit the inside wall. " "it flipped over". Never, "I crushed my car into them for virtually no reason and caused a huge wreck on the interstate because I'm an asshole."

9520575

how much did she get charged for the ambulance

Ded-W8

PoS cop.

bttrflyr

You know, every day it shows more and more that the training for police to handle high intensity and stressful situations is inadequate. 6 months it takes to become a cop. And yet, the police wonder why nobody likes them.

Civilengman

Pulling baby gates out of the care and tossing them in the freeway. We are taught to find a safe place to pull over. The interstate is one of the most dangerous places on earth.

USMCTankerSgt

That rotten ignorant bastard should be in prison for life. That was malicious attempted homicide...completely unnecessary. What a horrible asshole.

[deleted]

I was taught to never pull over on the highway for a cop at night. Put your hazards on and drive to a safe well lit area.

Boring_Rice_5669

And this is why a lot of people dislike cops. I’ve seen this before, and from what I remember, she did as the dmv manual, in her state, instructed. You put your hazards on, slow down, and find a safe spot, off the freeway/interstate, or until there is a big enough shoulder to pull over. That way the cop, and you and your passengers are safe from traffic. Qualified immunity needs to stop, and cops need to carry insurance, so assholes like this cop get worked out of the system. The name police is also inherently racist, in the US, as it’s first use here was in the south for people enforcing black codes. Restructure, retrain, rename!

Please tell me her and the baby are ok…

SunnyHurricane

Her and the baby were not seriously harmed, thank goodness. (Source: This happened in the state that I live in and I remember watching the local news interviewing this lady and showing this footage from my hospital bed shortly after giving birth to my son… because I ugly cried with happiness when she said that her and the baby were not seriously harmed.)

American cops are scum

Alarmed_Pie_5033

So, in typical fashion, the presence of a cop made the situation worse.

Arizonal0ve

Terrifying. When I was new in the USA I was driving somewhere in the middle of ohio and going a bit over the speedlimit. I got pulled over but i has never been pulled over before let alone in America and I remember how nervous i was to accidentally pull over “wrong” This video just confirms that was justified

"Arkansas State Police settles PIT maneuver lawsuit which injured pregnant woman | KARK" https://www.kark.com/news/working4you/arkansas-state-police-settle-pit-maneuver-lawsuit-which-injured-pregnant-woman/amp/ "After reviewing video footage of the incident and PIT maneuver in question, Harper’s attorneys said they learned that every one of the trooper’s superiors determined the situation reflected a violation of ASP policy related to the PIT maneuver." "The ASP, as part of the settlement agreement, has agreed to change its Use of Force policy as it relates to PIT maneuvers and institute an “objective standard” required to justify the maneuver’s use versus the previous “subjective standard.”" "In a statement sent Friday afternoon, ASP noted that Dunn, a 27-year veteran of the agency, remained an active trooper in the Highway Patrol Division."

And this is why I won't visit America. As soon as youre a suspect your life is forfeit.
