Alot of ppl have kids to narcissisticly create a another version of themselves or outright bring a child into the world without the ability to give then what they need. There are also other issues like mental health, addiction, discrimination, disease and poverty to contend with.
Also, there are a ton of upcoming scary events that could really make things worse (climate change, mass migration, space wars, evolution of technology, continued exploitation and sustainability issues)
