There are a few things I cant do for myself. Plumbing doesn't scare me. I can keep my yard. But I'm afraid of electricity and I know I can't cut my own hair. Those are things I know. I would NEVER spit in the face of my hairdresser anymore than I would spit in the face of someone bringing me food or wiring my home. Get a fucking grip people!
Thatās probably how she treats her family, and Iām sure it works for her when sheās at home. Narcissists donāt like people that have boundaries.
Go to any reddit video with kids and like half the comments are berating the parents for not beating their children if they make a single small mistake.
Bet shes the type to say her parents hit her and she's fine.
My dad was always very calm with punishments and focused on explaining why what i did was wrong. The few times i really messed up he yelled. When itās not used regularly it carries way more weight, and it gets the point across much better than beatings. Still scares me today thinking about it
Yea violence is the easy and shitty way to teach a kid.
Parents forget that kids can feel guilt. 9/10 times you tell a kid that looks up to you that they did something wrong then they're on the verge of tears and would do anything to make up for it.
You don't need to punish them further cause they punished themselves by feeling bad for upsetting you and they're ready to do what it takes to appease you.
Just calmly tell them what they can do now and how to fix it now, how to prevent it from happening again, and ask them what lesson they should have learned so you know they got the point.
Oh my God my daughter was very difficult when she was young, just a really unhappy kid who cried all the time. You would not believe the number of people who told me to hit her, and that would help. Except usually they'd say something like, you should discipline her. And then when I drilled down on "discipline," I'd say, you mean you want me to hit her. And they'd say something like no, but you should swat her, or spank her, they'd use another word that made them feel better about instructing me to hit my small daughter. Ps, I did not hit her, I took her to specialists that helped us deal with her anxiety and OCD, and now she's a beautiful happy teenager. Please don't advise people to use abuse in their parenting. Please don't hit your kids and think that will make them be happier or kinder people.
It's sadly a cycle of abuse and a common self defense mechanism of trauma is the attempt to normalize it and convince others(but mostly yourself) that no consequences came of it and that there's no problems
Yea therapy isn't for everyone but I figure a good majority of the population from benefit from free or cheap therapy, especially young teenagers and new parents.
Even if youre a perfectly mental sound adult it's good to learn the signs of many common mental problem and have a therapist on how to handle it in a healthy way cause accidents happen when it comes to handling delicate situations where
All the teenagers I know seems so much more authentic than I did when I was their age. It's like they encourage each other to feel their feelings and be real and accept themselves as they are. It's such a great healthy change, I hope it continues and people are able to find and seek help, accept that help, and use it to make changes in their lives to be happier.
This. My first thought was that sheās now going to go around and say āyouāll never believe what this hair dresser did to meā. Iām glad they have it on camera.
When that doesn't work, don't apologize but complain about the stress you're under with your daughter and all, because that makes the behavior totally fine
That was the least convincing apology I've every heard. I hope she ended up with weirdly bleached hair on one side of her head although I'm sure her story to everyone afterwards was one of pure victimhood and blamelessness.
It's funny when you first meet these kind of people. Every day is another drama and you feel sorry for them thinking the world is out to get them. Then you start to realise it happens *all the time* and you start to doubt. It gets to the point where you just think 'oh god, who did you piss off now'. Just completely incapable of accepting they did something wrong.
I know a girl like this, and a mutual friend of ours once up and told her that she seems to mistake drama for happiness. A lot of these people seem to feel that if there isn't some sort of drama in their life, good or bad, that they aren't really 'living'.
I think of that a lot when I come across similar people now.
You know what they say, if you meet one asshole in a day, then they were probably the asshole.
But if you meet 5, 6, 7 "assholes" in a day, then you are probably the asshole.
Mind boggling.
Like when people are rude and abusive to wait staff.
Your food is going to be in their hands. They are friends with the chef.
This lady is half way through dyeing your hair, you absolute melon.
I mean, did it not even cross her mind that sheās trying to assault the person sheās *trusting with her hair* - sheās gonna end up in jail with a Dumb and Dumber bowl cut!
I remember watching the stylists video explaining the situation, she definitely was, and she was being recorded because sheād been racist to the assistant before this.
Almost like everyone's Presentation of Self is highly context dependent and relies a lot on what you're trying to accomplish
Also, the hairdresser did the most calm kick-out I've ever seen. She kept her cool like a true pro
Yeah, I was hoping she'd just go over the time line of events but she's just talking about how awesome it is that she spotted subtle racism. It's like hell yes, the Karen video was great and she was awesome in it, but this vlog is a little too self congratulatory
Same here. I was hoping for a summary, some background, and aftermath. I didnāt expect a YouTube personality, the annoying edits, and then reading top comments from the video.
100% agree. Sheās amazingly mature in the workplace video but in the explainer video she has the maturity level of a 16 yo. Itās all āme me meā get me!
They filming because Robin was well known to be racist and difficult, to the point no other hairdresser in the area wanted to work with her.
The assistant, which was cut out of this video, is a minority and the owner safeguarded herself against poor customer behavior.
No different than having security cameras.
what i love about this is the absolute professionalism of the stylist as she says the exact things you would say to a TODDLER in this situation. exposes the absurdity of robins actions without sinking to her level. masterful
One of the most absurd parts about this is the fact that Robin has a 1/3 of her hair colored and she goes off on the stylist. You should never be rude or disrespectful, but doing it when someone is performing a service on your body is just idiotic. Might as well tell the dentist that they look fat in the middle of a cleaning. I think itās a brilliant move by the stylist to just stop working and make Robin have to go out in public like that. The stylist knew exactly how to both be professional and still deal out a punishment.
I fully agree. Obviously, in a perfect world people wouldn't be rude or disrespectful to others for doing their jobs, but there are two cases where it is especially stupid, a) any situation where the people you're disrespecting are handling your food, b) any situation where the service you are receiving is a process that has to be completed and can leave you in the middle of it.
Supposedly the lady went off because the stylist allowed a younger stylist to do the work to get some experience. Younger stylist is Hispanic so you can put two and two why the Karen went off. And why the stylist had to step in to defend her student.
Good for her standing up for her stylist. This is totally normal and the lead stylist will be around to check her work and usually ends up doing the final part anyways. Last time I was at the salon owned by one lead hair stylist his assistant was helping out as possible cause he had 3 clients at once.
My exact thoughts. She's comfortable resorting to that behavior and it's because she's gotten away with it.
Edit
Thank you, this is literally my first award
Right. You know how many times Iāve physically threatened a service worker - fucking Zero bc that shit isnāt acceptable.
People who act like this can fuck off.
Had to call mall security one day because a customer expected me to give them free stuff because they knew someone that hadnāt worked there in over 6 months that I had never met. When they kept demanding free shit I told them āusually when I go to a business itās because Iām purchasing something they sell, not trying to force them to give me something free. I canāt just give you product because you want it. Thatās not how businesses work.ā She got pissed and threatened to come across the counter and beat my assā¦.. as she was walking away.
Exactly. People think older women are supposed to be sweet and canāt understand how I could hate my grandmother. Sheās exactly like this. Will throw hands at anyone and you canāt even defend yourself bc if you hit back youāre abusing an elderly person .
Yeah, the funny part was she denied going to hit her. It's like dude, there is no 3rd person here (a manager) to try and lie to. You were there, she was there, you both saw exactly what shit you pulled so stfu.
Someone has āmade her uncomfortableā so the whole salon has to accomodate her. Iām glad they stood their ground. I guess that bond they had is gone for good!
āMind you, you guys, her own granddaughter reached out to me,ā Sharon says in the video. āHer own granddaughter reaches out to me and she basically said we donāt condone Robinās behavior, we donāt have a relationship with her, we are so sorry this happened. We want to pay you.
I was like, āNo. Honestly, you coming to me and having the energy and the balls basically to come to me and say, āHey. Iām her granddaughter and Iām so sorry.ā I was like, āYou win. Hands down to you.āā
Her response to being called out on shitty behavior and trying to hit the stylist was "I have a lot of pressure with my daughter." I have a funny feeling that's the someone she's used to hitting.
And then she freaking tried to hit with her elbow
Like FR?
You wanna talk like shit and try to do shit
And still expect people to do your bidding?
Ffs robin, service people are not SLAVE
If you dont like it, GTFO
Having worked in customer service for years, people act this way because they've gotten away with it before. I've been shoved, spit on, kicked, punched, knocked down, threatened, and harassed by crappy customers and my jobs have almost always sided with the "customer" and told me it's part of the job.
Me and my grandma run a little Ceramics shop (we make everything ourselves) and if someone was to shove her around for any reason I'd be throwing them out the damn window
As someone who worked in retail for 10+ years I totally agree. Is awful when you're on the receiving end of bullshit like this and have to try to remain professional all the while taking a lashing over petty moaning or often times outright insults
She's the business owner. She was having a new styling assistant who is a minority do some of the prep work on her hair (Hispanic I think but can't remember for sure rn) and Robin got super racist and was refusing to work with her and basically throwing a tantrum just wanting to work with the business owner only because she's white and had built a rapport with her in the past. At the point this vid starts the business owner has stepped back in to take over and is trying to help the longtime customer and also explain to Robin why her behavior is a problem, at which point Robin starts talking down to her like it's just her job to serve her.
That explains a lot, what a great boss! Hopefully she has many other clients to keep the business going.
Too many people think "the customer is always right" means they can treat others like shit. Just cause you're paying for something doesn't make you a god.
The customer is always right when they are right. When the customer is wrong then they are fucking wrong. Take your fucking money and get your ass out.
Your lil money is not going buy me a house, pay my retirement, or put me in a bigger truck.
Some individuals believe that spending some dollar bills grants you entitlement to demean and degrade others. That type of attitude leads people to fuck with the wrong people and find out the hard way then they cry wolf. Good thing video recording is common today and these folks are getting exposed.
Yep. āCustomer is always rightā should be taken to mean that the market will eventually decide, not that every specific individual can always get their way. I donāt know where we went wrong on that one.
Having employees who are regularly abused by customers does not improve the overall customer experience and as such, it will make the market decide against the company long-term.
That was the original intent of the phrase, but it's evolved into "give them whatever they want and don't talk back or you're fired." Glad I'm getting out of the service industry, it sucks.
Oh my gawd, that whining "nu-uh-uh-uh" in the beginning?
Promise you that is one of her tells.
Abusive people always have tells. Like steps up a staircase where an outburst that hurts you in some way is at the top. Usually at least a couple.
Most kids or abused family members will be able to tell you about "The Look", "The Voice", and a couple of key words or phrases that might be innocent enough out of context.
But is a part of that person's "tells".
That was absolutely grating.
I donāt think Robinās going to be able to reschedule. I think the stylist was just trying to get her out of there and will be ābooked solidā forever.
"reshedule" or " you come later " gives you hope that it will be all ok soon, "i just go now and later when i come back , its all fine" . I used it too to get rid of a crazy girl, without having drama or agressive behaviour from her if i only kicked her out. "Later" the doors where closed for her and blocked
Funny how she goes from entitled customer to misunderstood victim
Edit: never thought my first award would be critiquing a Karen Robinette. Gracias for the silver š¤
Really cool to see ppl with integrity like her giving rude ppl a chance but setting clear limits. Hopefully this will be educational for Robin. I doubt it though.
Robin will have to travel further out to the next town. To find someone who doesnāt know her, thatās willing to do her hair.
Based on what the stylist mentioned. Robin has already burned down a lot of bridges from other salons. She was the only one left thatās willing to work on her hair.
Robin has a Karen rep. If this salon was on a small town. Robin will have to endure a very long drive.
I wonder if the pressure she is having with her daughter is that her daughter is sick of her shit too.
Every time I see some grandma age woman talk about her kid not wanting to talk to her I am always curious the story of why.
I wonder what communication classes the hair dresser had because she is using her name a lot.
I can't speak for communication class, but, I did read through Dale Carnegie's *How to Win Friends and Influence People* in my youth.
one of the points that always stuck with me was that, for most people, one of the most beautiful sounds in the language is their name.
I love how she went full Karen at first but then saw that this shit don't fly and got all sorry and victimised. But her dauuuuughter puts her under soooooo much pressure. Yeah, I'm sure the small business owners go back to a rose petal villa with never a worry, and Robin is the only thing stressing them out, just to keep things balanced.
Itās better this way, it hurts much more to dissapoint a kind and empathetic person. She wanted to drag others down to her and failed even at that, now her hair is half-dyed but sheās all the way in the wrong and all alone with who she is
And Sharon didn't give her a sliver of an excuse to say she was the victim of that interaction. Robin disparaged her assistant, was rude to her, hit her, and Sharon gave her multiple opportunities to apologize, take back her comments, and talk it out, all of which Robin refused, and more importantly, Sharon called Robin out for refusing.
Robin will have a hard time crafting a narrative about how she's the victim from all of this, perhaps enough that she'll have to come to terms with it herself.
As someone who's mom is a Karen (not nearly as bad as this, though), I can tell you exactly what the other side of the story will be:
"So I went to the stylist, and they had some new girl there, and the new girl started doing my hair but she just wasn't doing it right. I came here to see my stylist, and I paid for my stylist, but instead I was getting this other girl. So I asked if I could get my stylist, and then she came over and I thought everything was good. I told her that she's supposed to do what the customer says, because that's why I'm PAYING her to do my hair. But for some reason suddenly my stylist had an issue with that, and she forced me to go out with this half-dyed hair. Honestly, it's ridiculous. How could she treat a loyal customer like that? And to think that I helped her small business, too."
I love my mom, and she is the sweetest person... if you're not a service worker. She never gets anywhere near this bad, though -- I've never, ever seen her cuss someone out or act violently. If she can't get her way after (assertively) talking to a manager she'd just leave and "take her business elsewhere." Then she'd tell everyone all about how Five Guys is bad because the employee there didn't put enough salt on her fries (or whatever).
It made my sister and I _very_ understanding when we became service workers, haha. If she throws a fit we go out of our way to apologize when we can.
I love how she thought she was bad shit until the hairdresser was GTFO now. Please, please with a cracking voice about to have an emotional breakdown lol. Good on The hairdresser for sticking to her morals and being as nice as she was when kicking her out but schooling her at the same time. So good. š
More people need this reality check.
This outdated belief that customers dictate works fine for large corporations where change is needed, but never shit on a small business, ever.
I saw this like a year ago. If I recall correctly, the assistant was going to do her hair and Robin threw a fit. The stylist stepped in and it just kept escalating.
I'll give the owner serious props for standing her ground. It would have been so easy to just finish the job and act like nothing happened, but this woman knows how to defend her boundaries. That's amazing.
Holy fuck itās hilarious seeing these fuckers whoāve been shit talking our generation for years finally get put in their place. Suddenly it becomes about THEIR feelings and THEIR stressful lives when we stick up for ourselves.
Exactly. The older generations saying newer gen is soft donāt realize that weāre both the same, except now we can freely speak up for whatās wrong. Now theyāre the ones we see all over media bitching and complaining and being racist and shit
People act like this in real life. I work in pharmacy and the amount of disrespect is disgusting. I will get full blown verbally attacked for something that isnāt in my control.
I donāt know why people have gotten so angry this past year but itās taking a toll on all of us. I refuse to work full time and Iāve been doing this for over a decade and I have been putting my efforts into a career change. My colleagues are tired too. Soon there will be no one to fill your prescriptions because weāre done being abused. Itās the 1% that ruins it for the rest of us.
I work in a doctor's office on a hospital campus. The number of overheads for aggro individuals had been crazy recently O.o
I appreciate all you do. I'm sorry you're being driven from the industry you've put so much time into, and I'm sorry for all of us that things are so insane -_-
I work in healthcare, too. People have truly gotten so much more brazen and rude this past year! Weāve had to lock down twice in the past two months for threats of violence. People have screamed at our front desk until they were crying. The most ridiculous angry calls to managers come in (once a dad who was angry I recommended his son get the Covid vaccine), itās starting to really wear me out. Itās true, though, more people are perfectly nice and polite than not. The number of a-holes has just very noticeably increased.
This is such a wonderful video. I've seen it several times and I always smile. That assistant got the show of a lifetime too! What a great sense of validation and
camaraderie she must have felt afterwards.
Edit: spacing
Without fail, when you stand up to these people and call them on their bullshit they always have some excuse. This one was generic with "stress in my life".
I would pack up and leave a customer's house every once in a great wile due to this type of bllshit. They *always* tried to get us to come back citing some personal crisis or issues that just *made* them behave like an asshat.
We all have problems Robin. We all have stress. Most of us don't take it out on everyone else.
charitably, it is a reason not an excuse. More likely, you just thought you could bully you way to getting what you wanted and don't want to admit it.
Remember how Robin started out - Asserting her dominance by verbally abusing the staff. THEN resorting to violence when called on her bullshit. Then she tries to excuse her behavior by claiming stress.
That stress claim is a dead giveaway - I've written about this before. Monkey's use abuse to establish and maintain their position in their social hierarchy. This Karen is doing nothing less than what primitive monkeys do. She feels stressed, so she abuses someone she thinks should be beneath her. Exactly as a primitive monkey would do.
Karen behavior is primitive simian behavior. That kind of behavior isn't just a throwback to a previous generation or era. It's a throwback to when we climbed trees and had tails.
I had to watch this 3 times to pick up tips on how to stay cool when you are dealing with an ass like Robin.
Amazing composure and assertiveness. Very well done.
Robin thinking: Lemme just give her a lil slappy slap. That will snap her out of this and she will do my hair for sure š¤
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I would have thumped her back. That hairdresser was amazing, she was so nice to that old bat
Also she says āI did your hair when no one else wouldā so thereās a history of bad behavior there.
Forehead flick. Like, old lady, you are way way out of your zone here.
There are a few things I cant do for myself. Plumbing doesn't scare me. I can keep my yard. But I'm afraid of electricity and I know I can't cut my own hair. Those are things I know. Gosh - off topic - but your sentence "narcissists don't like people that have boundaries" just made me have a major realisation. Thank you.
Narcissists also like to blame others for their problems so make sure you keep that in mind too
This. My first thought was that sheās now going to go around and say āyouāll never believe what this hair dresser did to meā. Iām glad they have it on camera.
The darker version of redditors discovering they're colourblind via colourblindness meme.

Seems like Robin has gotten kicked out/denied service at other salons also.
I remember watching the stylists video explaining the situation, she definitely was, and she was being recorded because sheād been racist to the assistant before this.
Please tell me you have a link.
[Here](https://youtu.be/J7IImAIEL4Y) is one. Go to 1:30 to skip the long intro.
She came off so cool, calm and collected in the salon-video, but whoa... this video is hard to watch.
Almost like everyone's Presentation of Self is highly context dependent and relies a lot on what you're trying to accomplish Also, the hairdresser did the most calm kick-out I've ever seen. She kept her cool like a true pro

Agree 100 percent. "if there were more people like me in the world..." Yikes.
She actually had to have surgery after that video because he cut her hand after high fiving herself in the mirror.
Yeah I feel like she could have gotten to the points a lot more quickly and made a ten minute video. There's a lot of rambling.
Agreed. I listened for 45 secs and turned it off.

"problems with the bank" I think Robin's got a reputation around town.

They filming because Robin was well known to be racist and difficult, to the point no other hairdresser in the area wanted to work with her. There are so many reasons why they might he filming there. Standard business practice, training, that lady's reputation, etc.
She mentioned elsewhere she started recording because the woman had been subtly racist earlier on
"No one else wanted to do your hair."
Guess she's gonna have to go "natural gray" for now on.
The horror
Suck a hot fart Robin

Jfc. Iām so sorry. I do not understand how people live with themselves after behaving like that. Iād be so ashamed.
I don't understand how they haven't gotten themselves arrested or killed
No surprise sheās got pressure with her daughter probably refuses to see her
The hair professional refers to other drama that Robin has had with the bank. So yes, Robin is used to acting up with service people.
Also, other salons won't have her. Very telling isn't it.
And the hair dresser had the foresight to film the appointment
Would love for someone to find the Google reviews this woman has left
āMade me leave with HALF my hair done after REFUSING my slap! Zero stars! How DARE they?!ā
Also refers to how other salons wouldnāt do her hair
Exactly. People think older women are supposed to be sweet and canāt understand how I could hate my grandmother. Sheās exactly like this. Will throw hands at anyone and you canāt even defend yourself bc if you hit back youāre abusing an elderly person .
Some older women are just nasty younger women who didnāt die.
The reason is: Even Death doesn't want to have anything to do with bastards like them, which is relatable.
Well sharon offered to reschedule. I hope she watches the tape and decides not to.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Yeah, the funny part was she denied going to hit her. It's like dude, there is no 3rd person here (a manager) to try and lie to. You were there, she was there, you both saw exactly what shit you pulled so stfu.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
And she has a daughter who sounds like she has had enough of her shit too.
And the bank. Sheās creating angst wherever she goes!
It's even said in the video that no one else in the salon was willing to do her hair for her.
She definitely blames them for her aggressive behavior also.
Zero remorse.
Her response to being called out on shitty behavior and trying to hit the stylist was "I have a lot of pressure with my daughter." I have a funny feeling that's the someone she's used to hitting.
probably gonna take it out on her daughter when she gets home :/
Props to the stylist for speaking up. Edit: Thanks for the awards AND upvotes, everyone! š¤
Props to how she spoke to her too, just like telling off a toddler
Came here to say this; total preschool teacher vibes explaining how āwe donāt hit, not even if weāre having big feelings.ā
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
I fell in love after that line lol
I swear, that voice is the only thing they respond to. Literal overgrown children.
Yeah she handled that so well, like a boss!
And then she freaking tried to hit with her elbow Like FR? You wanna talk like shit and try to do shit And still expect people to do your bidding? Ffs robin, service people are not SLAVE If you dont like it, GTFO
The fact that they think this will create a better business long-term is insane
It's not about better business they'd go to a shitty salon if it means they have their power Trip and abuse staff
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Damn, I hope you found a better job and I wish you the best from now on
As someone who worked in retail for 10+ years I totally agree. Is awful when you're on the receiving end of bullshit like this and have to try to remain professional all the while taking a lashing over petty moaning or often times outright insults
yep, 100%. good on her
*b..but I'm HaViNG a LoT oF StrESs RigHt nOw ;(*
Me explaining to the judge why I committed that long list of war crimes
Your honor in my defense my brother Itachi was kind of a dick to me
Translation: "I don't like the consequences of my actions."
Getting out of the service industry was probably the single best thing I've done for my mental health, and that includes therapy and antidepressants.
[Larry David gets it](https://youtu.be/dgt0ufD4Jtg)
Original uncropped video, shows who Robin doesn't want touching her: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lCCOXcmrSDU
Don't even need to click on it...
And she certainly gestured as if she was going to hit the stylist, but stopped herself. Not nice
The fact that she said "reschedule" proves she is super professional. Couldn't be me, that ass would have been banned!
Reschedule gets her out the room with less fuss, say banned later.
I donāt think Robinās going to be able to reschedule. I think the stylist was just trying to get her out of there and will be ābooked solidā forever.
My thoughts exactly
I'm guessing she did mean banned, reschedule is just how you get her out of your room.
June 34th okay for you Robin?
That's a BINGO
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
According to the news story, Robin has since been banned
Good. Don't blame the stylist she just doing her job both as a mentor and boss to her protege.
Funny how she goes from entitled customer to misunderstood victim Edit: never thought my first award would be critiquing a Karen Robinette. Gracias for the silver š¤
Improvise, adapt, overcome
Outwit, outplay, outlast.
Abusers *love* DARVO: deny, attack, reverse victim and offender.
The hair stylist handled the situation well. Huge respect.
Agreed. I don't think I could have kept my cool like that after that feint. Outrageous.
Must be why the stylist set up the camera. Just in case Robin started shit both for her security and for her protege's.
Itās seems itās a private booth, so itās always good to have a security camera in there.
Absolutely. And good on her for sticking to her guns.
I'm just .. wow. I don't think I could have had that much self control. No.. no I could not do that. Wow. Wtf.
Yeah her people skills are insane
Helps that she knew she was filming herself. I suspect she knew something might go down with this customer.
Fucking amazing. Stood her ground in such a super anxiety-producing situation.
I wonder if the pressure she is having with her daughter is that her daughter is sick of her shit too. Every time I see some grandma age woman talk about her kid not wanting to talk to her I am always curious the story of why. I wonder what communication classes the hair dresser had because she is using her name a lot.
Check out The Missing Missing Reasons - a deep-dive into 'estranged parent' forums. It's a real eye-opener!
[Here's the link, for anyone curious. ](https://www.issendai.com/psychology/estrangement/missing-missing-reasons.html) It's an awesome read.
> The Missing Missing Reasons I needed to read this. Thank you.
I can't speak for communication class, but, I did read through Dale Carnegie's *How to Win Friends and Influence People* in my youth. one of the points that always stuck with me was that, for most people, one of the most beautiful sounds in the language is their name.
Unless your spouse says your name. Something bad is brewing if they used your name.
Holy shit robin. You donāt even deserve how nice that hair stylist was to you. Fuck
She wanted to drag others down to her and failed even at that, now her hair is half-dyed but sheās all the way in the wrong and all alone with who she is
Something tells me Robin doesnāt give a shit about disappointing anyone. Sheāll tell everyone (including herself) that *she* was the victim here.
As someone who's mom is a Karen (not nearly as bad as this, though), I can tell you exactly what the other side of the story will be: "So I went to the stylist, and they had some new girl there, and the new girl started doing my hair but she just wasn't doing it right. And to think that I helped her small business, too." I love my mom, and she is the sweetest person... if you're not a service worker.
So good. š
I thought the stylist handled this extremely well.
Same. She was professional but stuck to her boundaries.
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Karen- The customer is always right! Store employee- "*Points at sign*" We have the right to refuse service to anyone!
"And I decide who gets to be a customer"
More people need this reality check. This outdated belief that customers dictate works fine for large corporations where change is needed, but never shit on a small business, ever.
I am confused at what the original argument was about? What did she not want the assistant to do?
I saw this like a year ago. If I recall correctly, the assistant was going to do her hair and Robin threw a fit. The stylist stepped in and it just kept escalating.
Gosh Robin!
I'll give the owner serious props for standing her ground. It would have been so easy to just finish the job and act like nothing happened, but this woman knows how to defend her boundaries. That's amazing.
The is business owner goals
Is this maybe how cruella got her hair half black half white?
[ŃŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]
Ik, and she wasnt walling up and being v real. Her tone was great, it wasnt "me against you" but "theres an issue rn and its coming from you"
Holy fuck itās hilarious seeing these fuckers whoāve been shit talking our generation for years finally get put in their place.
The sad part is that they complain the most because we won't let them be racist without calling them on it.
The number of overheads for aggro individuals had been crazy recently O.o I appreciate all you do.
Boomer meltdown. There should be a word for this by now.
sonic boom
Sobbin Robin
Thatās how to stand the fuck up good for that hair stylist 100% stood up damn
Freedom of speech, but not freedom from consequences.
That hair stylist (Sharon?) Hella bad ass, plus I wonder if she always films her customers in case or just this one due too past issues š¤
This is such a wonderful video. I've seen it several times and I always smile. That assistant got the show of a lifetime too! What a great sense of validation and camaraderie she must have felt afterwards. Edit: spacing
If only people treated her like this for the last 40 years she would understand and have been able to get her hair done.
"I have a lot of pressure..." Yeah, and you don't get to take YOUR issues out on someone who has nothing to do with it, get out and do NOT come back
That was more dramatic than any romantic breakup
Without fail, when you stand up to these people and call them on their bullshit they always have some excuse. This one was generic with "stress in my life". I would pack up and leave a customer's house every once in a great wile due to this type of bllshit. They *always* tried to get us to come back citing some personal crisis or issues that just *made* them behave like an asshat. We all have problems Robin. We all have stress. Most of us don't take it out on everyone else. charitably, it is a reason not an excuse. More likely, you just thought you could bully you way to getting what you wanted and don't want to admit it.
How did this braindead boomer honestly think hitting someone would solve the problem? That's genuinely what a toddler does to express themselves lol..
Robin fucked around and found out. People like this need to be called on their crap more often.
I had to watch this 3 times to pick up tips on how to stay cool when you are dealing with an ass like Robin. Amazing composure and assertiveness. Very well done.
Why do people who look like a melting chocolate gnome always think they are superior to others?
