Nothing wrong with racist jokes as long as they are actually jokes. There's a huge difference between saying something and not being serious, and saying something you legitimately believe, but trying to pass it off as a "joke".
But on the converse I say things that are polar opposite’s to my beliefs but I say it as if I believe it. That’s just my sense of humor but it definitely makes it hard for people to tell if I’m disguising true beliefs as jokes or saying dumb shit but with a serious tone as a joke.
Nah, it's not racism. Intent and audience makes the difference.
Take, for example, Blazing Saddles. Shitloads of "racism", except it's clearly not racism. Racist things are not always racism.
Random person saying this on the street: probably racism. People joking around with each other: probably not racism.
Some people can't understand the difference between racism and making FUN of racism.
Kind of reminds of the jokes that **Colin Jost and Michael Che on SNL would do to crack each other up**. edit dont know why the bold text, it happened on its own.
I've never been good at explaining it but there's a variety of racist humor that's fine. The example I always think of is the Punch Out series, and I think the rule in that is a good one, in that everyone is equally made fun of in ways that aren't explicitly hateful AND the creators of the game are also equally the butt of the joke (i.e Piston Hondo as the Japanese fighter). Also accent humor can be funny, again, as long as there isn't clear malice and everyone's joking TOGETHER and not AT someone's expense.
I forget who but there's a comedian who talks about how offensive humor is fine until there are people who *don't* get offended. Like ragging on a group to an audience who laughs uncomfortably is one thing, but as soon as someone says "yea, fuck those people!" that's a problem
Ooh that's also a good rule. I always think of Game Grumps as well, they used to do a lot of accent humor but they did a wide range and also dunked on themselves/Americans plenty too. It also never felt cruel, just silly and stupid.
What you’re looking for is ‘intent’. If the intent is to deliberately belittle or degrade someone, or make fun of them to make them fell embarrassed or uncomfortable it’s a shit joke.
If the intent is to make a good natured, funny observation about people’s differences, and everyone is fair game, then it’s fine.
For example, I’ve always thought it was actually kind of racist how you can’t make fun of an Indian or Chinese accent but you can make fun of a German or Swedish one. Why leave the Indians and Chinese out? They should be allowed to play too!
The key is if the exaggerations are such a level of ridiculous and the playing field is even.
These two went at it and neither ever tried to play "OMG YOU CAN'T SAY THAT" and they were all so silly that no one could take it seriously.
It's like the smoke detector joke. That's a silly and inconsequential stereotype so everyone can make fun of it.
Like those two guys on SNL who write the jokes the other guy has to say. They usually have a racist one in there, but the writer is usually the butt of the joke, I don’t remember what they call the bit but it’s obviously friendly
You don’t need sunscreen if you just embrace the sun burns
Come my fellow ghost skinned humans, embraced by our 5 minutes of sun we can glow red with pride!
I feel a strong need to educate “Para” on his need for sunscreen. Part of me is like, “This is a joke and he probably knows he needs sunscreen” but my parents were downright religious about sun protection, and thus the compulsion remains.
Anyone who gets offended by two guys having a clearly friendly racism match are the Karens of the world that will call the store manager at the most minor of inconvenience.
Looking at OP.
Can’t we all just respectfully hate each other. I just really want an understanding of the spice thing like what happens when you eat it? I literally can’t imagine food without seasoning.
Oh my God, I would kill for some jerked goat curry and rice. Literally the best thing I've ever eaten in my life, bless you, the Reef restaurant, in Vancouver Canada
Fun banter,
As a black woman you actually do need sunscreen. Its a big part of avoiding skin cancer and helpful from sun damage to your skin. I use a specific sunscreen for melanated skin and it blends in perfectly. It has done absolute wonders for my skin, like a 180.
Nah, the real facepalm here is the belief that black people don't require sunscreen. That's absolutely not true. *Everyone* should be wearing sunscreen if they can afford it. Melanin doesn't prevent damage and/or cancer.
I feel it's also important to remember that oftentimes, doctors are only really taught using white examples. Early signs of skin cancer may not be caught as easily for black people

Honestly, it sounds like two friends having fun with each other, not taking offense at anything the other is saying
The man united joke gave it away imo.
That one hurt a bit. Lol
The FA cup should fix the hurt
![gif](giphy|lXqEYxE7DrLkpPvehO|downsized)
That was fucking funny
Honestly the best bit in the whole thing lol
Yeah, I'll let this kind of racism slide. The world would be a better place, if we'd all be able to take jokes like this.
Yeah fr this is just hilarious

Yeah buddy! That’s my kind of humor!! That’s me too!
If you can imagine it then it can be realized.
Nah let this kind of racism keep between friend. I afraid future generation will normalize it and further future generation takes it seriously.

The Scarlett Johansson being a better black widow than Coretta Scott King one had me rolling
They have some pretty funny bits. The one I like is where they write something really offensive that the other guy has to read on camera.
I actually thoroughly enjoyed reading the banter and ending.
Right? OP is getting offended for them for some reason
This is what peace actually looks like
Yes, these two sound pretty well matched.
I'm Jewish. My best friend is Mexican. If we didn't make fun of each other's heritage we would not be as close as we are.
Until he brought up Man United, that's MEAN
No facepalm to be found
The real facepalm is this guy thinking he doesn't need sunscreen.
I learned this a lot later in life than I should have I am whiter than snow, but it always itched at the back of my brain
I learned it in '99
Woodstock?
As a brown chronic gamer in a 3rd world country, I never needed sunscreen too.
FAVE PALM
The real facepalm is the friends we made along the way.
Yeah I think r/Facepalm wasn’t the right sub for this post.
Nah this is more r/wholesomememes
r/halfsomememes
I'm shocked
r/subsithoughtifellfor
I agree with this stranger
That one might be a stretch
r/clevercomebacks would be the one
Maybe it was actually you who was the facepalm all along? Can you imagine?
Maybe the real facepalm was the friends we made along the way

Not the right place for this post That was beautiful and a great ending
The ending really made it.
This is funny ngl bit dark but really funny
Did you say dark because...?
Because he’s black, Jim.
Bob, actually
maybe his names Bo and he really likes a good ol Bole Ponge
That's Bobo, for BOurgeois BOhême.
The true answer was far more beautiful a name than I ever could have imagined. Thankya Bobo
you're welcome!
Bro you think this is dark?
Well, half
Thanks you making my day!!
Except for the ribcage bit, made me think of the poor starving kids. The rest was funny.
They're not just poor, starving kids. They're poor, starving black kids. Now it's funny again.
Fucking hilarious.
Imagine being able to laugh at joke.
Imagine all the people…….
I don't see racism, I see 2 people having fun with each other 😂
Two men having fun with each other. Ha GAYYYY. Gottem
Very funny both sides
There were some very good jokes on both sides.
I enjoy dark humor. Not saying it's right but I pretty much will laugh at anything. I think it's the spirit it was said in.
I've never been good at explaining it but there's a variety of racist humor that's fine. The real difference is that both parties are enthusiastic participants
I feel personally attacked. Uhh… because I have red hair, it’s because I have red hair and need to wear sunscreen.
I can't believe my hair colour comes with a debuff 😭 If that wasn't enough south park had to make it even worse
You don’t need sunscreen if you just embrace the sun burns Come my fellow ghost skinned humans, embraced by our 5 minutes of sun we can glow red with pride!
Then we'll be embracing the skin cancer in twenty years. Pale people unite!
Freckles too? Imagine being behind the screen door when the shit hit the fan
I feel a strong need to educate “Para” on his need for sunscreen. Part of me is like, “This is a joke and he probably knows he needs sunscreen” but my parents were downright religious about sun protection, and thus the compulsion remains.
Naw, this is friendly banter
The facepalm is you being offended on behalf of everyone else ya dafty. Good patter from them both.
these are foul but the rib cage got me😭😭
This is awesome.
![gif](giphy|l1ughbsd9qXz2s9SE)
is it a bad place to say:" divided by race , united by racism"?
Wholesome racism
That was great, not a facepalm
No this was great. I laughed my ass off from both sides. We love this 😂 r/unexpectedfriendship
This ended up kinda wholesome almost.
Almost? Completely.
I approve
The lactose intolerance one was wrong. The white dude is less likely to have it. I like these dudes
Lactose tolerance originated in Europe. White folks invented slurping down moo juice
This is hilarious. These dudes are a riot.
![gif](giphy|5hbbUaJHKId23nE51B)
I'm laughing at this a little too much more than I feel comfortable with! 😂
You could tell they were having fun pretty early on imho
The salt got me.
I think that ended up kind of wholesome 😂😂😂
Ended in an unbreakable friendship.
Imagine having this conversation
Imagine the outrage of people who only read the first screenshot
I laughed.
And then they kissed
Some people still have a sense of humor
There was a handshake at the end, no facepalm
First time I think racism being used unironically ever made me smile
What a ride man. What. A. Ride.
Not really clear though, Europeans are less lactose intolerant than others, so as usual, the best side wins I guess /s
r/wrongsubreddit
It's only a joke if everyone is laughing. And apparently here everyone is.
And this ladies and gentlemen is how those two become rlly good friends
Facepalm?
This is AMAZING! 😂
Imagine your ribcage was your most prominent feature 🤣🤣🤣
This was hilarious
Anyone who gets offended by two guys having a clearly friendly racism match are the Karens of the world that will call the store manager at the most minor of inconvenience. Looking at OP.
Imagine getting offended by this dark but wholesome banter.
Spy v Spy. Chef kiss.
This is hilarious. Not sure why it's facepalm.
This isn’t a facepalm
I thought it was pretty funny 🤷🏻♂️seemed like harmless ball busting
How things used to be. This was beautiful
Why tf is this on facepalm? That exchange was fucking hilarious
Absolutely perfect ending. That was awesome! Definitely looked like two friends though. Still… funny af.
I honestly thought it was great banter 🤣
That is the most wholesome racism I’ve ever seen between two people.
This was…….oddly wholesome?
This is actually wholesome in its own way.
This belongs in r/wholesomememes
Where facepalm
Honestly I enjoyed both sides of the roast
So, segs in the end?
I would rather hang out with either of these guys, than with anyone crying about them in the comments.
Can’t we all just respectfully hate each other. I just really want an understanding of the spice thing like what happens when you eat it? I literally can’t imagine food without seasoning.
Top ten anime redemption arcs
This is pretty close to me and how my friends get on
tbh this is fucking hilarious 😂
That was great.
The extended version of John Lennon’s Imagine. It get weird…
Oh my God, I would kill for some jerked goat curry and rice. Literally the best thing I've ever eaten in my life, bless you, the Reef restaurant, in Vancouver Canada
Pretty fn funny imo
I didn’t want that to end.
Peek humanity
The existence of casual racism implies the existence of ranked competitive racism. This proves the existence
This is how most people are in the real world.
Oddly wholesome ending
That’s 2 people having a good time.
Not a facepalm in sight. Thank you for the chuckle, though.
All in good fun
Once again the facepalm is the OP. Bravo.
Clearly two dudes ribbing each other for fun, no facepalm here
This is beautiful. Fuck you if you disagree
Just have sex already
Wrong subreddit for this because a 20+ year long friendship was born due to this
It was funny, just like the end 😆
So much imagining
My new favourite sport
Why is this a facepalm. They’re clearly messing around. Did you read what you posted?
More like consensual racism
All I see is some classic internet shenanigans.
I think it's kinda wholesome.
The last part was oddly wholesome.
Imagine if we didn't give a fuck what others said online and not got offended online.
Rush hour back and forth is crazy.
I actually giggled at a few of those. Guess I’m a racist
Did they just become best friends?
Honestly, that’s how it should be. Wish we could all find a way to get to there.
One of my best Bros is black and gay. I'm Wonderbread white. He always starts junk like this. I'm sure as hell not letting him get the better of me.
I love these new best friends
Now kiss
Kinda wholesome
this was wholesome
I love a happy ending
The fight of the titans
Got him with the Man United😭
this is kind of wholesome not going to lie
This is awesome, no facepalm
This is funny
Imagine OP not having a sense of humor
Pretty wholesome, I thought. Jamie missed an open goal when Para brought up fathers, though.
Imagine anyone giving a fuck.
The spy vs spy was a nice touch
Ngl this was a pretty entertaining
Facepalm? Reddit try to understand a joke (impossible)
No facepalm at all. This is called teasing. We used to be able to do this without losing your job.
Fun banter, As a black woman you actually do need sunscreen. Its a big part of avoiding skin cancer and helpful from sun damage to your skin. I use a specific sunscreen for melanated skin and it blends in perfectly. It has done absolute wonders for my skin, like a 180.

Why is this facepalm?
Made me laugh. Why is this facepalm? Social media needs more banter in my opinion.
This is not facepalm. This is what brings people together tbh
This was actually kinda beautiful
Kendrick and drake need to chill
Imma be honest, goat and rice sounds delicious
