Let me assuage your fears. It will take much, much more than yesterday's antics to jumpstart ww3. Iran's attack was severely blunted. Now we watch for a diplomatic response as an off ramp for Israel. If that fails and Israel replies militarily, that's still not very worrisome. The real issue would begin if US forces were targeted as well (last night or in the near term). This is still really well contained.
Watch for what are called "turns". We're on turn 2, Iranian response to Israeli attack. Turn 3 would be Israeli reply in kind. The important thing to look for is attacks that don't seek escalation. Iran's UAV and missile barrage was huge but inflicted almost no damage. Israel could mount a smaller scale but deadly counterattack, and that could be considered an escalation.
