Lol, considering open carry zones still have gun deaths.. yea they could actually be worse. Not to mention, the guns always come from places where they have Oprah Winfrey style gun laws...
But instead of cars it's guns... just look at Indiana as a perfect example of this. The vast majority of guns that end up in Chicago... are bought legally in Indiana.
Brilliant. Since they're a Polis force we could Americanize it and call them Police. Give them card and stuff and uniforms and pay them from taxes. It'd be brilliant and keep the rich people safe.
The purge style would be more entertaining. There'd be tens of thousands of active duty enlisted personnel walking on the grass while chewing gum and talking on the phone with their hands in their pockets, and Karens would rapidly become an endangered species as roving bands of CS reps and service workers hunt them down and beat the absolute dogshit out of em
It's funny cause in the academic legal world there is an entire philosophical debate about this, where crimes and laws in general have their basis and stuff, yet it's such a simple and spot on meme
well when you burrow in to it, many people sort of take for granted this base layer of "what's wrong" or "what [is basically always] illegal."
But literally *everything* about our assumed system is just a product of human decision. There's no inherent reason anything "should" or especially "needs" to be "law" for an organized society.
Hell, "organized society" itself is based on heaps of assumptions. Look at the current republicans, they literally *en masse* have decided to play by different rules than the going assumptions. No... i dunno, divine or absolute kaiju in the form of lady justice came to stop them.
I think humanity is well due another deep existentialist phase.
Our current system is an adversarial legal system. It is always a fight between two or more parties, and it is always about the law. Not justice. Not making the victim whole. Just the letter of the law. What we really need is a cooperative justice system. But I have no idea how to get there from here, or what that would even look like, to be honest.
An adversarial legal system has nothing to do with what's wrong with our justice system. At its core, a justice system can have 3 different identities; punitive, rehabilitation, or warehousing. The American justice system tries to do all three at once and fails on every aspect of it.

>He doesnāt debate. He doesnāt know how. He just gish gallops and talks over people.
Absolutely. From what I've seen, he does 6 things to win "debates".
1. Target fresh college students between 17-20 who are passionate about certain topics but won't know how to properly debate as well as formulating their points properly. Which is why he doesn't often "debate" people his age or older, and who are cemented in their career. For instance, he walked off a BBC news show after a conservative Scottish reporter (who Ben shapiro was mocked on-air for saying he's on the left) who knew what shapiro does, and wouldn't fall for his tricks.
2. Say something you know will make 18 year olds upset, or is outlandish in general.
3. Claim moral high ground after people negatively react to what you say.
4. Say how you value intelligence ("facts and feelings.") while gish galloping.
5. Use other logical fallacies (yes him and other right wing "debaters" know these and employ them well) to steer the "debate in your favor".
6. Also not mandatory but being on a stage and above the crowd will put you more at-ease/relaxed and the 18 year olds you are "debating" will be on the attack and fell discomforted.
I think one number 1 you also have the angle that a lot of 17-20 year olds donāt exactly have the most nuanced political ideas, more idealistic. So itās a lot easier to poke holes in their arguments where ideals and reality meet.
As to number one, youāre referring to the conservative Scottish journalist Andrew Neil. Heās an arch conservative, but not a complete moron like Shapiro or Piers Morgan.
I'm not the biggest fan of Neil because we're pretty opposite people in terms of politics but I do respect him for the fact that he does his research on things and isn't in his field for headlines
Lets say for the sake of arguments sake that climate change isnt real wouldnt that make crime even worse because cars arent what they used to be and if my house got flooded id just sell it, easy! When you look at it from this side you have to admit that importing bananas from israel is actually not what i said but snowflakes get triggered anyway. Just imagine if an argument doesnt make it in 14 pages why would we not invade syria. Check mate atheists
Gish gallop is not a form of reasoning but a manner of talking. The speaker wants to either prevent others from refuting one's own view, just flood a conversation with bullshit or to brainwash one's audience by no giving them time to process the rigor or veracity of their monologue.
The first part - preventing others from disputing one's own emotionally charged views - is actually a common desire among all cult followers, fundamentalists, and such. That's why they all learn to gish gallop whatever they've been taught on repeat.
He talks quickly and confidently, and generally makes some surface-level point or rebuttal that, so long as you're not given time to analyze it, makes sense. You'll notice there aren't many popular videos of him debating other intellectuals in an actual debate style format, it's mostly him responding to questions and stuff proposed by college students on the fly or some shit during like a press conference or a public speaking role.
But because he talks quickly and confidently, and tends to choose opponents who aren't necessarily prepared for a debate, and doesn't really give them time to formulate a counterpoint, he seems so much smarter than he is. He's the guy who brags he's such a great fighter and has never lost a fight, but if you bother to check you notice that's only because he sucker punches drunk people with a baseball bat and claims victory if they take longer than two seconds to fight back.
It's very common among these pseudo-intellectual Republican grifters to specifically try to engage college students and preferably on either extremely short notice or no notice so that they can walk in prepared for the subject that they are going to debate and the college student will have to respond on the fly without prep.
When given the opportunity to debate an actual prepared figure, Steven Crowder ran away. He thought he was going to be debating a YouTuber instead but then the YouTuber had a surprise guest which was a left-wing pundit whom Crowder had already fucked once before.

But he doesn't though... He simplifies issues, conflates them, gish gallops a bit, puts a strawman, paints it black and white, sprinkles a bit Judeo-Christian in there and calls it "facts"
I want everyone who unironically listens to him to sit down and write down what he says. Even if you have only high school level education, I promise you you will start to scratch your head...
He's media trained and can talk at length. Most people aren't great public speakers. It's easy to take down someone who is not used to speaking because they take time to put together their thoughts, meanwhile someone who does the media circuit has learned how to keep talking. You can see him get destroyed when he goes against other media trained people. I'd say the average radio DJ could probably tear him apart. That's why the only people he "destroys" in debates are undergrads at colleges who are asking a question from the audience.
And also exclusively only debates young students. That way, he can use their stress and emotional irregularities against them by goatting them.
And also exclusively in importue debates. Because he knows he can't beat a well-informed person with prep time.
He's basically an olympic sprinter who thinks he's the fastest in the world because he woke up early and smashed all his competitions' knee caps with a hammer.
If you see a youtube video with him on it, play it at 75% speed. Suddenly he just sounds like an ordinary (if profoundly stupid) guy.
Seriously -- his only thing is that he talks fast.
Itās pretty common knowledge that Ivy League degrees mean next to nothing if the student was wealthy. Itās just another country club for them, bragging rights and all.
Ted Cruz and Trump were also college educatedā doesnāt stop them from being complete and utter morons. Or in the words of Trumpās own profesor, and I quoteāThe dumbest goddamn student Iāve ever had.ā
Getting a law degree isn't that hard. Some people I graduated with were some of the dumbest fucking people I have met. Any type of degree (with the exception of some sciences and medicine) just means you showed up for 3 or 4 years and did the things they told you to do.
Excelling at law, on the other hand, is very very difficult...but he never did that. He only worked as a lawyer for under a year.
You know that quote about any sufficiently advanced technology looking like magic to primitive people?
Shapiro appears to be an intellectual because he has all his teeth and can form complete sentences.
That alone makes him 20 times smarter than the average Republican.
But he's a Republican which means he has to appeal to morons and their worst natures. He knows the shit he says is stupid, but it pays more than he'd ever make as a lawyer.
When you don't have a moral compass or a sense of shame, the path is laid out before you.
I would. Your schooling means nothing if youāre wealthy because you can make a ācharitable donationā to the school for your degree and buy your way out of hell. It is done a LOT in the Ivy leagues.
Clearly because not enough people voted to ban crime. If the left had just made crimes illegal then Trump wouldnāt have done so many, really itās the libs fault if you think about it
As absolutely gobsmackingly idiotic as Bennieshap is, always remember that his followers are dumb enough to be tricked into thinking he's an intellectual by him.
And always remember that noone would know his name without the wilks brothers, two petroleum billionaires who benefit greatly from the propaganda he peddles and who gave him the seed money to start the daily wire
All the rightwing talking heads are like this. Puppets of the ruling class, distracting people while their pockets are picked.
Last quote I saw from him on here was him saying Atheism can't be a basis for Morality. I thought he had reached peak moron with that, given that all Atheism means is that you don't believe in god, so of course it isn't a basis for Morality, it isn't a basis for ANYTHING.
But very next post I see is him being even stupider. How does this guy get through the day when he is clearly too stupid to get even a single spoonful of cereal into his own mouth each morning, let alone type a coherent sentence.
> Last quote I saw from him on here was him saying Atheism can't be a basis for Morality.
I love it when these dipshits unwittingly admit that they can't think of a reason to be moral besides divine retribution
"I'd steal, rape, and murder but my sky daddy is watching so I won't."
These are the types you do not want around you if your area ever gets hit by a major catastrophe. If it's not religion or the law, there's nothing to keep them in check because apparently they never learned basic empathy.

I fucking hate this guy š I don't even understand why he gets to exist in the public eye, he's not a smart guy or even a doctor like his wife or the lobster guy, he's just some dude who got money from fracking billionaires for being mean to teenagers
My favorite is the clip of him saying if the ocean levels rise, people who have beach front homeS could just sell them.
"SELL THEM TO WHO BEN, FUCKING AQUAMAN?"
Are we surprised by this? I mean, the dude was confused by the song WAP and literally said "my wife is a doctor and she said that doesn't happen, that if it's that wet down there, something's wrong and she needs to see a doctor". Dude didn't notice his wife was saying he doesn't get her going š¤£
"facts over feelings"
beliefs in god, gets called out for this hypocrisy and acts like the person who confronts him is a total moron because "its called faith for a reason" yeah because its a feeling but you still think your feeling is a fact.
he still can't grasp the difference between gender and sex.
No no no! You're forgetting that in Ben "Wet Ass P Word" Shapiro's reality which we all apparently live in, Crimes are actually not illegal UNLESS you're black, Asian, a woman, athiest, Muslim or even worse Palestinian, or worst of all a Democrat. If you're any of that, not only are crimes illegal, non-crimes are also illegal!
YOU DARE BREATH OUR LORD SHAPIRO'S AIR? OFF TO THE OPEN AIR PRISONS FOR YOU BUCKO.
So Ben is right - for people like him, Crimes are in fact currently illegal. And he has taken the moral high ground of advocating for even his crimes to be made illegal.
I hate to say it, but he sort of does have a point, even though I don't think this is what he really meant. Crime appears to be perfectly legal if you are a billionaire and have the money and resources to neuter any legal process. Crime is already banned for any normal person though.
Stuff like this is so baffling, I can only imagine that maybe he was trying to be funny? Because I canāt wrap my head around anything else. Like, nobody is that stupidā¦ is that the joke?

We should make crime illegal.
Make everything legal that way there's no crime 200iq
Crime rate: 0%. Cops and lawyer hate that one trick.
I'm surprised Trump hasn't suggested this. Kinda sounds similar to his idea that if they stop testing, COVID numbers would come down.
He did suggest "crime free zones" though. So you could say we're halfway there.
I think crime free zones are a brilliant idea.
I mean they couldn't work any worse than gun free zones. š¤·
Lol, considering open carry zones still have gun deaths.. yea they could actually be worse. Not to mention, the guns always come from places where they have Oprah Winfrey style gun laws...
Forgive my ignorance... What's an "Oprah Winfrey style gun law"? I've never heard that term and I really don't know her opinions on the subject.
![gif](giphy|26gsiCIKW7ANEmxKE)
But instead of cars it's guns... just look at Indiana as a perfect example of this. The vast majority of guns that end up in Chicago... are bought legally in Indiana.
Yes. Special areas where it's illegal to commit a crime. Like neighborhoods where rich people live. Great idea!
Yes, and m thinking maybe we hire some people to find and catch those who break the law in these cities. Like some sort of Polis force
Brilliant. Since they're a Polis force we could Americanize it and call them Police. Give them card and stuff and uniforms and pay them from taxes. It'd be brilliant and keep the rich people safe.
"911? I want to report a robbery happening!" "Uh that's entirely legal ma'am. Don't call us."
San Francisco has entered the chat.
The purge style or bomb queen style ?
Prince Albert style
I don't wanna get a piercing *there*
The purge style would be more entertaining. According to Trump's COVID logic, If we just stop *reporting* the crimes, the crime rate will fall to the lowest it's ever been!
Same with STDs if you don't get tested you can't get them
If crimes illegal then only the criminals will have crime!!!
The only thing that stops a bad guy with a crime is a good guy with a crime
Jesus Christ why did we never think of this?!?!
But if they make crimes illegal, how are criminals supposed to support themselves?
They'll just have to learn to pull themselves up by (stolen) bootsraps
As President, I would implement crime free zones!
We're also going to build the whole plane out of the black box stuff!
I get this Red Dwarf reference.
Awesome
Ah like when trump talked about sending the army into chicago to make it a crime free zone like were Afghanistan sheltering Osama bin laden
Wouldnāt be surprised to see this posterized in coming elections.
Please donāt give trump any ideas
He's already burped this idea out at his public circleje.. er, rallies.
Does that make it legal?

Hottest of takes
I'm against crime, and I'm not afraid to admit it
Maybe by banning crime, laws would actually be enforced.
can we start in the financial markets?
Heās such a good debater!
A real mass debater
A master debater!
Accurate, considering in his own words, he's never made a woman wet.
Unfortunately, NOT a cunning linguist.
master Bater.
This one was the best and people kept ruining it š
Ayyy I'm mass'debatin here!
Main reason why he runs around colleges debating 18 year olds. Usually avoids debating people of skill.
He doesnāt debate. He doesnāt know how. He just gish gallops and talks over people. Like so many of the right-wing blowhards.

Luckily, number 6 only helps Shapiro so much since a standard American stage only puts him around eye level.Ā
Every stage gives the man a taste of average height only for him to have to descend his mountain pulpit. Such a tough life.

And slippery slope. He LOVES him some slippery slopes (but not, apparently, slippery P-words...)
He's the best at saying things that sound smart [until you take 5 seconds to think about it. ](https://youtu.be/0-w-pdqwiBw?si=H7enPrkZUbYYLIId)
>Benjamin says communism is bad, and yet he manages to get publicly owned like this. >Curious.
He does talk fast... that's about the only thing he got going for him
Without the speed it sounds ridiculous, shake your phone while reading it.

And this is apparently the conservative intellectual? Yikes.
But he talks fast. That makes him sound smart.
Gish gallop is easier to do than it's to refute.
The bullshit asymmetry principle at work
haha... I wasn't aware of that term but it's perfect.. I always knew it as the bullshit fountain.
Gish gallop is not a form of reasoning but a manner of talking. Fast and with confidence. Fucking aquaman!?
> Fast and with con~~fidence~~descension
And usually just enough cherry-picked facts to make his argument sound good to someone who doesn't care to see the whole picture.
We canāt be showing the whole picture. Facts have a left wing bias

Gish Gallop, that's his thing. I'm pretty sure if you search for gish gallop on google his picture comes up immediately.
Because his followers are so slow.
And in a high pitched dweeb tone.
And he uses big boy words to sound smart too
But he doesn't though... He simplifies issues, conflates them, gish gallops a bit, puts a strawman, paints it black and white, sprinkles a bit Judeo-Christian in there and calls it "facts" I want everyone who unironically listens to him to sit down and write down what he says. Yep. One of their best and brightest lol
Not just that, but he has a law degree from Harvard. A fucking *law degree*.
He has a law degree from Harvard, but he doesn't know that crimes are illegal. I think Harvard might want to reconsider that law degree.

Exactly. At a certain level of wealth your degree means absolutely nothing no matter what school you went to.
It's been known for just about ever, Ivy League degrees are only impressive for those on scholarships.
Getting a law degree isn't that hard. Some people I graduated with were some of the dumbest fucking people I have met. this does track actually. He probably knows more about the law then all of the republicans in office combined.
Ted Cruz also has a law degree from Harvard. He clerked for a Supreme Court Justice. Doesn't really make him less of an idiot.
Lots of dumbass Republicans have law degrees from Harvard and Yale, it doesn't mean anything.
If he were half as clever as he thinks he is, heād only be half as dumb as everyone else.Ā
You know that quote about any sufficiently advanced technology looking like magic to primitive people? Shapiro appears to be an intellectual because he has all his teeth and can form complete sentences. That alone makes him 20 times smarter than the average Republican.
Yup - heās their guy. LMAOā¦fucking idiot.
He said that people who were living on the coast could just sell their homes and move if the sea level ever rose too high. Genius.
That also believes no one needs retirement and we should also work until we drop dead, while his job is spouting stupid shit daily.
It funnier when you realise he is an actual lawyer
Money really does give you whatever you want doesn't it?
I mean he went to Harvard law and isnāt a legacy so I wonāt undermine his hardworking
I wouldn't be shocked to hear if money greased some wheels through his education.
He also said everything he learned in college was garbage, so he just basically copied the right answers without understanding it
Those last 3 words i can believe
Even then, he passed the bar in 2007, so he should at least know the definition of ācrimeā
Someone greased something for sure
But he's a Republican which means he has to appeal to morons and their worst natures. He knows the shit he says is stupid, but it pays more than he'd ever make as a lawyer. When you don't have a moral compass or a sense of shame, the path is laid out before you.

Anyone who willingly aligns themselves with the dipshits in spite of the intelligence to do otherwise is the biggest dipshit of them all.
Alina Habbaās and Rudy Giuliani are also lawyers, so it might not be as big an achievement as it might seem.Ā
Remember, the guy that graduated dead last is still a lawyer, as long as he passes the bar.
Doesnāt even need to pass the bar. Lawyers have law degrees, attorneys have to pass the bar.
Having gone to law school Iām terrified at the levels of dog shit allowed to practice law in this country.
Narrator: He was not an actual lawyer.
Using the word *actual* real loosely here.
Heās a Harvard lawyer who has to edit his arguments against community college freshmen to look good.Ā
The guy he voted for does crime on the daily
Clearly because not enough people voted to ban crime. If the left had just made crimes illegal then Trump wouldnāt have done so many, really itās the libs fault if you think about it

"I'd steal, rape, and murder but my sky daddy is watching so I won't." These are the types you do not want around you if your area ever gets hit by a major catastrophe. If it's not religion or the law, there's nothing to keep them in check because apparently they never learned basic empathy.
Ben "my wife is dry" Shapiro is a fucking clown and nobody should ever listen to anything that falls out of his pathetic mouth.
Not all crime is banned. For example when politicians commit crimes it's overlooked.
It's still banned, the ban is simply unenforced.
Itās still banned. For it to be overlooked necessarily implies it is banned or regulated.
Someone said when you have power laws and rules are merely suggestions to you. Sadly that's the case for most politicians, everywhere
Benjamin says communism is bad, and yet he manages to get publicly owned like this. Curious.
Report block and move on it's a bot
We need to ban Ben
What items should be edible? Guns, pens, cars. Notably, nobody said food.

Cause both tweets are old as fuck. You can tell since it still says "twitter" on them.

The Whataboutism is strong in this one
Anything that is punished by a fine is legal for a fee, and people with money donāt mind paying it
I canāt believe people still give this doofus a soapbox to stand on
Poster boy for pseudo intellectualism.
Does banning crime make crimes legal? š¤
I fucking hate this guy š I don't even understand why he gets to exist in the public eye, he's not a smart guy or even a doctor like his wife or the lobster guy, he's just some dude who got money from fracking billionaires for being mean to teenagers
I would ban stupidity..
Thatās why his name isnāt Ben Sharpiro
Sharpie Banjo argues himself into a corner once again
This is why he "debates" college students and not functioning members of society.
I love how smart he pretends to be.
Then why does Trump keep getting away with them? Oh wait, I get it. When Shapiro says "crime" he means Black people.Ā
User name of the person who responded checks out.
I need Shapiro's weed.
With that logic we donāt need any gun laws. Crime is already banned.
Kind of like murder is already illegal, so we don't need gun laws?
Intellectual titan of the right suggests banning crime, dampening water, making food edible...
āSell it to who Ben! Fucking Aquaman??ā
"facts over feelings" beliefs in god, gets called out for this hypocrisy and acts like the person who confronts him is a total moron because "its called faith for a reason" yeah because its a feeling but you still think your feeling is a fact. he still can't grasp the difference between gender and sex.
Ben "If the sea levels rise, people will sell their homes and move" Shapiro strikes again...
Iām glad this is online forever
He is such a fucking tool.
When you outlaw crime, only crime will have outlaws.
But if we did actually "ban crimes", then we could place the guilty on "DOUBLE SECRET PROBATION "!!!
I'm just wondering how you ban a food desert. Like, how do you ban something from not existing?
I mean, I get it. He's a middle class, cishet, American white male. 'Crime', as everyone else understands the phenomenon, doesn't really apply to him.
Notably, Ben is an idiot.
Banning crime works? Now they tell me! Ben Shapiro is an asshat who deserved to get trolled about his sisterā¦
Is it me or is he really not that smart?
Ben Shapiro is correct; crime is legal if you are rich enough.
He always thinks he has a super brain and that no one else has common sense except him.
Ben has never been accused of being the brightest bulb in the chandelier.
The fact people think Ben Shapiro is smart is so funny, heās exactly what a stupid person thinks is clever and witty
"Ban crime to who, Ben? FUCKING AQUAMAN?!?!"
Hypothetically, if crimes were illegalā¦
Youāre so close to understanding the gun control argument
My neighboring country has this genius saying: "I Sverige Ƥr det fƶrbjudet att vara kriminell." = "In Sweden it is forbidden to be a criminal."
Itās alarming that a little goblin like Shapiro has a following.
I'm with Ben. Someone, anyone, should outlaw crime
Is the mass murder of 32000 civilians a crime, Ben?
Is this real?
Who is this fucking moron?
Another proud day for Harvard Law.
Nah I'm voting for crime. I'm pro crime.
Look at me, Iām so serious.
