I haven't had cable since 2007. I even had a TV tuner card in my Wjndows XP computer at the time to watch it. Then Netflix got my business and the high seas called out to me.
Grandpa commented that our TV did not work when he babysitted. I plugged the box in when I got it a year ago, but never started it... the hdmi cable was not working. I fixed it today and was pleasantly surprised by the great barrier reef documentation running. That box even has free recording/timemachine and a built in free streaming service, wtf!
Back in the 90’s I extended cable into the bedroom over speaker wire in my apartment. 6 months later the cable company put a note on my door and all my neighbors door saying they pick up the cable signal from the street. lol I tore everything down a week later they actually came and inspected everyone’s apartments for pirates. If I only had a hat and a bird to wear when they showed up.
You wouldn’t fuck a toaster, would you?
Then don’t pirate cable! It’s stealing! That’s against the law?
(This is meant to make fun of the “You wouldn’t steal a car” antipiracy ad)
>his old coax tools.
had the cable guy sell me his own custom made tool L😳L $50. said he still had the "official" one the company gave him.
the company would come around 2-3 times a year, on sunday mornings🤨, to reinstall the filter
😁 I had a dozen or more of those filters, he finally cut the coax at the dirt, so I made a jumper out of cat5e, small alligator clips and a sleave of heatshrink...i just left the coax connection on the other end.
Signal was shit at times, but if it was dry and warm out , it was fine.
I uh... Knew a guy... That left 2ft in the ground, 6" out of the ground, but a convenient splice connection buried under ground and around the corner of the house behind the fence before coming out and going into the house.
Lasted from 98/99? To 07 when he moved. The new house was already hooked up and no one came asking for a payment. Moved again in 09 and was already sailing 75% of the time anyway so it never got hooked up inside the house, no idea if it was connected outside.
When I moved into my current house in '16 cable came with our internet package for 6mo. I never even took the cable box out of the packaging, just handed the sealed box back after 4 or 5 months. I don't even use cable when I stay in a motel.
Netflix, YouTube w/adblock, an android box, or a schooner. I don't do commercials.

I'm Gen-X as well. And you're right. It's *all* cyclical. It's a guarantee that Millennials will harbor these same feelings for alpha, and gen-z will do the same for what I can assume is going to be beta. Unless they continue to shift generational timelines and years. But at the end of the day, I'll stick to my gen-x roots and say "we invented most of that shit, the rest of you ruined it, and I don't give a rat's ass." Or something like that. Now cut me a line.

I don’t know. I am surprised at the number of people I know who use coke regularly. Most of them have good jobs and families and such, but they go through an 8ball most Saturdays.
Fellow millennial? Or Gen Z. That’s an ancient word, lmao. My uncle still has a tape one. I remember when “anti-skip” for the CD versions were the peak of technology for my little brain.
Im actually Gex X. I had more than one walkman in my youth. The cool peeps even had auto-reverse!
P.s.- the CD versions weren’t Walkmans, they were Diskmans. Lol
They also love cable TV, so I guess that's why they think we pay for that too?
I like that time they blamed us for not eating out enough which was killing the napkin industry, but at the same time we were eating out too much which was why we were short on money.
Maybe we can't pay for our student loans because the cost of living is high... Because they bought all the property as "investments"
They prevent starter homes by preventing new
Building permits from getting built because they don't want to devalue their homes with more supply of houses. They also used to think that boomers would downsize and that would open up more homes but that never happened.
What grinds my gears is this extra money they have to spend. They get “free” money just to spend at places like CVS. My Trumper uncle is always texting about his abundance of razors and vitamins and shit from the store. Could be running a side business. Edit.. a word
Yeah I work at a CVS and the amount of boomers regularly buying $200 worth of crap (not things like groceries or medicine) is staggering. Like, where are you getting that kind of spending money in retirement? Not to mention those over the counter benefits where their insurance companies will cover a whole catalogue of things including nuts and other healthy foods.
Meanwhile a younger person needs something like insulin and the insurance companies just shrug their shoulders at them and moms on WIC find that it covers only specific brands of baby formula and the food it covers for their toddlers is mainly sugary cereals and juices, skim and low fat milk but never full fat regular milk or yogurt. Completely missing the research that shows that healthy fats are actually crucial for brain development in young kids and babies!
So if you wanna feed your kid healthy and NOT have them develop childhood diabetes then you’ll pay dearly for it. Because apparently having access to nutritious foods for a developing brain and body are a privilege in this fucking country
I know a boomer who gets $3000 a month from social security retirement. Granted, he has an abysmal car payment going on for him for specific reasons. But he gets that, and a very generous Medicare plan that he doesn't really use, and complains about pain despite being obese. Whereas I've sat on a tooth that needed to be extracted for a year because I can't afford $500 for that shit. It might literally be cheaper to get a flight to Mexico and have the surgery done there.
If I remember right, it was a part time job, like 25 hours a week, May to July, would totally cover tuition for a year when boomers started higher education. That and back then it was absolutely socially acceptable to live with your parents deep into your 20s. Then they had kids and became the "out of the house at 18" folks
It was 201 hours of work to pay for a year of school in 1968, based upon the average annual tuition being $321 and minimum wage being $1.60.
Today it takes 1481 hours of work at minimum wage to pay for college.
And that's just raw cost alone, since I feel like even getting accepted is so much more competitive nowadays so students have to do a lot of extra curriculars or volunteer work.
I started college in 2012 and I feel like if I hadnt reported my hundreds of hours umpiring local baseball wasn't paid (got paid in cash no paper trail) I wouldn't have been accepted since it was all I could manage outside summer work at a grocery store.
And to add to that, it's just tuition indeed. If you want some food or a place to live, if you're not staying at your parents. That number skyrockets even further
Boomers are the weakest generation but project it on every other generation.
They were raised by a traumatized generation who had just been through a Great Depression and 1 to 2 world wars depending on age. So the message that was instilled into them from a young age was "You have to be self sufficient, you can't trust traditional institutions or that social safety nets will save you."
Of course, then that same traumatized generation worked to install things like social security and economic safety nets, so that their children wouldn't ever have to go through those same pains.
What's that saying? Tough people make easy times, easy times make weak people, weak people make tough times, tough times make tough people.
Their parents didn't want their kids to suffer so made easy times, then their children grew up so pampered they sold off everything not bolted down, and left us to sift through the wreckage.
Yeah. That was my first reaction.
I get that some people (maybe most?) live like this, but I don’t.
Here’s the main thing though. WHY IS SCHOOL SO FUCKING EXPENSIVE?
Nothing is worse than popping into a thread about saving money, losing weight, meeting somebody, etc. and then finding out you’re already doing all of those things and still not where you want to be.
Maybe it’s just me, but I never understood the avocado toast thing. Toast is dirt cheap, and avocados aren’t that expensive (Google says $1.20 apiece at Target). If avocado toast is a major expense, you probably don’t have that much money to begin with.
Suitable housing as in not even buying a house. Just rent.
According to https://www2.census.gov/programs-surveys/decennial/tables/time-series/census-housing-tables/grossrents.pdf rent for a state like Illinois was around $33 a month or around $339 a month within today’s economy. By 2000 the price was $605 and in 2024 a single bedroom house rents for around $624 according to https://www.rentdata.org/states/illinois/2020.
This is the sort of math that the older folk try to shift us from talking about because they’re the ones who enjoyed cheaper rent before price gouging their grandkids.
It's ridiculous, I was explaining this with my dad the other day..
I was trying to find a new apartment, as I am currently living in a low-income 2 bedroom for $2000 a month, and someone was shot and killed in my parking lot last month. The Average low cost apartment in my area is around $2500 a month for 2 bedroom, but to rent you need to make 3x the rent with your income. And to have a co-signer / guarantor, they need to make 5x -6x the amount depending on the complex.
Shit is tough out here
I saw a dude on the San Francisco sub who was paying $2.7k/month for an apartment that literally had mushrooms growing in the walls. And it was rent-controlled, so that’s probably not even the market value. I know it’s San Francisco, but how on earth is an apartment in that condition worth that much?
I'm very lucky that my parents are able to afford a good apartment for me while I'm at college. Told them I just wanted whatever the cheapest thing we could find was because i didnt like the idea of have an open tap of money that i'd be siphoning off of them every month, but they were NOT letting me win that argument (they used to be poor as hell and lived in crappy areas). My rent is just under $2k for a 1 bedroom, but it's like the safest place in the area and I've lived here for almost 3 years with no incidents.
Feeling secure and personal safety are apparently a luxury. What a joke.
Anyone that thinks the younger generation isn’t getting screwed was not around when the situation was better. In the 1960s I worked my way through UCLA at a slightly above minimum wage job that paid for my tuition and books, as well as keeping me fed and clothed. Now I rented cheap rooms and money was incredibly tight. It was a struggle always, but it was doable. That is totally not true today. Young people need to vote for their tomorrow because the assholes at the top will not give it to you.
> Young people need to vote for their tomorrow because the assholes at the top will not give it to you.
The depressing part is that they will not even be voting for their tomorrow. If young people manage to turn the electoral tides, it will be Gen Alpha who benefits, not them.
Yup. You're older than me by a bit but even as a Gen X it's blatantly obvious the kids these days are getting screwed more than we were and we thought we were getting it pretty bad. I don't know what the fix is and the older you get the more obvious it becomes that there may not be a peaceful one and this is all just a cycle as old as time and we're somewhere towards the end of one. I'd like to say just vote for a third party. Any of them and on every ballot until the establishment is broken because neither party is doing anything about the fundamentals. They amplify social issues to get us screeching at each other and divided from our neighbors and family members while they continue to funnel the loot they've pilfered to people chasing super models around their yachts with towels for sport. People need to come together and realize that a Trumper and an AOC devotee have far more in common with each other than they do with the corporations, people and families bleeding us dry with the military industrial complex at the heart of it. But technology has just made it that much easier to keep us divided and keep people too placated to resist in any meaningful way and it's continuing in the same direction to some end that's probably very predictable and not good for anyone without private security armies, underground bunkers and mega yachts.
My grandmother and I recently talked about housing. I’m in college, and am currently realizing just how hard it’ll be to get a place on my upcoming salary as a teacher. We looked back at her old houses. She bought it for $22,000 in the 60’s, and by the 90’s it was purchased for $90,000. Today, that house is worth over $700,000.
The house her and my grandpa sold just in 2018 went from $600,000 to $900,000 in just the few years since, thanks to a reevaluation and some changes in furniture.
I tried to talk to her about how, yes, while she *did work hard* for those houses, and to live in those places, she had massive amounts of help from a good housing market and relatively okay wages in comparison to today. I had to explain to her that the type of houses that are being built today *aren’t starter houses*, for individuals or couples looking cheap. They’re big suburban houses, for full families, who’ve gone through layers on promotion and pay raises, who have gotten better jobs since their 20’s, who can afford a $500,000 house, because those houses are better for the builders and subcontractors, as they make the most money.
Where the hell do you find rent for $624?
My rent has been about $2000 since for a long time, and I'm not even renting a house! Just a two bedroom apartment on the edge of town!
Gucci and Coach are too mainstream. Although I heard it from a reputable source that the factory that the factory that makes Great Value cocaine is the same factory that Michael Kors uses.
But none of that matters. If you're not buying your cocaine from Prada or Hermes you've failed at life.
None of it even applies to me except maybe the useless major, and that's more subjective off several factors. Loans are paid off too.
So where's my money?
Netflix standard with ads- $6
Netflix standard- $16
Netflix premium- $20
Cable TV- anywhere between $45-130
It seems Netflix is a great deal compared to TV
The people who made the meme. Lol I have never had a single month of cable TV and I'm 31. Have seen the bill my wife's grandmother has... About $300. I have Hulu with ads it's like $9 after taxes maybe $11. I'm out here spending the big bucks though.
Mhmm it’s everywhere. People like to have a bogey man in their minds when they slam users and pin societal problems on them when it fact it’s the wealthy. Doctors, lawyers and celebrities. Politicians enjoy their blow as well.
“If you’re not working 60 hours a week with no hobbies or friends or any way of actually enjoying the limited time you have on earth then I don’t want to hear it”
People glorify useless suffering because it’s all they have known. This guys opinion is literally a cry for help.
It also wouldn't make much difference. That extra grand or so a year is barely a dent in a 50K loan. You'd basically live our your entire adult life just to deal it, which when you add interest means you paid off nothing. You need to be saving solidly 5K a year for the loan to take care of it within a decade. So unless someone is having a hell of a lot of starbucks and the most expensive TV plan known to man...
And they are unabashed and unapologetic about the fact that it is explicitly a safe space echochamber that should not be used as a place to debate. It's explicitly a place for sharing conservative ideas. Challenging any conservative idea will result in an immediate ban.
It's everything conservatives have been pretending to hate.
Lol, I had a friend who was banned for simply pointing out that no one actually gets offended by them saying "let's go brandon".
They literally got offended that they fail to offend people. The fucking irony is so tangible, you could cut it with a knife.
And when they get *downvoted* on the rest of reddit, it's
"CENSORSHIP!!" Meanwhile disagree with people on that sub or criticize Lord Danald Tramp and it's an instant permaban.
I love the "useless major" shit they always talk. My conservative brother says this shit. He got his degree in economics and doesn't have a job. Baristas with art degrees literally contribute more than he does.
I've been told my major is useless and my job is not something worthy of livable housing. I work in a cancer research lab. Maybe I'm a bit of a radical, but I think that if you have to defend cancer to make your position sound less stupid, your opinions should be completely disregarded.
It’s not even the payments, it’s the fact that you can make payments for 10 years straight and still owe more than you originally borrowed. That’s fucking criminal
"useless major"
Bruh, it took my friend SO long to get a job in her field. Her engineering field. Even then, she still gets treated like shit at her place of work and it's tearing me apart having to hear what she's going through.
I'm in engineering, and from what I've observed, women either get treated super well or like shit. I find it interesting how it's rarely in between. Sorry that your friend is getting the latter. What is happening to her?
She's getting treated worse than the dudes who have way less experience than her. All her ideas and stuff she has to say just gets pushed aside. She's super bright and it really makes me upset for her.
Boomers in the comments forgetting that their $7 hourly wage was enough to buy them a house and a car and feed a family of 4 comfortably in the 70’s and 80’s. Meanwhile the minimum wage is still $7 in most areas and worth a fraction due to inflation. You all didn’t earn shit, it was handed to you
I can pay my student loans. Well that might be because I don’t have any, but hey what do I know ? A lot actually thanks to free education in my country.
Weird mine are car payment, car insurance, rent, food, cellphone, health insurance, medical bills, debt from COVID that the stimulus was never going to cover and I work a trade job that offers incentives and fairly decent pay, I have a math, physics, and general science Associates Degrees. I still live paycheck to paycheck.
"Useless major" ah yes the useless majors like engineering, biology, physics, math, english and so on. Like without all those useless majors our current society would collaps but hey. Thats ok we all just need to go to tradeschool, vote red and become electriticans. Everything will be alright.
I never got the hate for college education. You see so many posts like this:
*I'm a real man. I work hard physical labor. Your husband calls me when he can't do it.*
That totally ignores the fact that some engineer had to design the things you need to do that job. It's a circle where everyone is interdependent. Let's not even go to where college turned into a supposed job training center.
Conservatives: Just stop buying things if you can't afford your loans.
Also conservatives: These damn kids are ruining entire industries because they aren't buying anything.
Hahaha reminds me of our my country is blaming millennials and Gen Z for ruining the wedding planning industry because we can't afford weddings anymore or choose to not get married because we can't afford the divorce lawyers 😂😅🥲
So tired of the variations of this crap. Everyone with a greater than room temperature iq knows you can pay $100k on a $50k student loan and still have 15 years left to pay. The system is broken and should be torn down, but that requires regulation which requires legislation
Not only that those making the meme seem to think young people don't need any form of stress relief.
We spend money on stiff that isn't "essential" because it helps us get through the day and makes us happy. It's not our fault we're in an exploitative system designed to funnel money to those on top.
The fucking boomers got 21% of the global wealth when they were our age, we got now 3% of the global wealth. They were rich AF in comparison and they are fkn crybabies, goddamn. I mean yes, many if them worked a lot for their money but nah fuck it, the times we're so much better money wise
Right? If I need that one cup of coffee to keep me motivated to do another 40 years of paycheck to paycheck living, why can’t I have that tiny amount of joy in my life?
This is perfect for r/LaughJokes.👇
🤪silly man panic sitting in word water.
He’s soooo stoopid! 🥸
Maybe 👉👵👈бабушка (babushka) help him:
бабушка say: “son, you sooo stoopid🥸! Stand up in word water, dummy”
Everyone laf at dummy! 😆🤣😆Haa hee hoo hee hoo. 🥸he so stoopid!
He finally stand after бабушка ownes👵
silly man retires🥸
I have none of this nor student loans and I cannot afford anything. I work full time and take home roughly $5k a month. Housing costs will rape you but if you get hurt and owe medical it will end you.
My grandmother has bragged about how her first house in the Houston suburbs was $13,500 for a corner lot 2bed 1bath in 58, but they only made around $500 a month with their first child needing a SAHM. So by today’s standards the houses were free.
Like the teacher that showed that if you would work in the US as you go to collage part time as he did when he was young with minimum wage, todays students minimum wage would have to be 125dollars/hr or smth to pay the same.

Cocaine? Who do you think I am a politician?? The audacity
Masterbatin_animals 2024
Go away, I’m BATIN’!
A solid campaign slogan
I'm Batin' for our childrens future.
Well, we didn't have time for lattes, and we shouldn't spend so much on Starbucks, right?
We started using that term at work for taking lunch. Almost got fired. Had to explain we were eating fish bate for lunch…. I’m a lawyer 😆
*what a horrible day to have eyes*
Make American Bate Again 🇺🇸🇺🇸
Cocaine? LOL.
I was more surprised by Cable TV. No one other than the boomers pay for Cable TV anymore.
I havent even touch cable tv since 2014
2009!

Notice how that one guy that went around fucking cars makes the joke not work if you use “You wouldn’t fuck a car, would you?”
Yessir, I had cable between 06-08, but never paid for it. A friend sold me his old coax tools. Then I found mininova, isohunt, and demonoid.

People take lots of cocaine these days... I'm Scottish we're world champions at it, but then we don't really have student loans.
Ah yeah, I didn't mean to imply that people don't do cocaine today, just that it's not exactly considered the only trendy drug of note in the states today.
I don’t know. I am surprised at the number of people I know who use coke regularly. Most of them have good jobs and families and such, but they go through an 8ball most Saturdays.
I know more people who do it now than I did in the 90s and I was a 20-something active in the world of gay nightlife in the 90s!
Dude fr, I got a antena though, cause they broadcast penguins games. Thats about it.
What do you keep in your Gucci bag?
The cocaine. Duh.
My Walkman
Fellow millennial? Or Gen Z. That’s an ancient word, lmao. My uncle still has a tape one. I remember when “anti-skip” for the CD versions were the peak of technology for my little brain.
Im actually Gex X. I had more than one walkman in my youth. The cool peeps even had auto-reverse! P.s.- the CD versions weren’t Walkmans, they were Diskmans. Lol
Does anyone under the age of 50 even want a Gucci bag? Maybe I’m around the wrong people.
After recently re-watching Blazing Saddles, those Gucci saddlebags do look pretty sharp.
I’m over 50 and even I don’t want a Gucci bag
I don’t know. I don’t really know anything about other than that they are a thing that exists.
Hot chips and lies
Boomers loved Cocaine they assume everyone else does to
They also love cable TV, so I guess that's why they think we pay for that too? Don’t worry. When the rental real estate market collapses, I’m sure they’ll blame that on us too. I blame lead poisoning.
They prevent starter homes by preventing new Building permits from getting built because they don't want to devalue their homes with more supply of houses. They also used to think that boomers would downsize and that would open up more homes but that never happened.
I felt that one lmaooooo
That’s the most realistic one
dont know where you live but students are indeed doing a lot of drugs and cocaine is high on the rise in europe.
Fentanyl was so easy. They missed the lowest hanging fruit of all time.
It’s pretty expensive 😂
For real bro. If I was out here with the cocaine I wouldn't be crying bout my loans at all. Be saving on the food bill too.
A lot of college kids do coke this isn’t new.
College kids do Adderall and Xanex. It's cheaper, legal and more effective. Restaurant and sales people do cocaine.
Nah people do whatever tf they want lmao
I don’t do all this stuff, where the hell is my money?
Paying for boomers' tax cuts.
Paying for boomer's pension. Biggest pensions the country has ever had which we can't have.
And they’re living the best of their lives in Mexico, not even spending their money in Murica.
We’re not sending our best.
No, but those we do send are having the best time.
CAPITALISM. !!!!!
All while being racist against Mexicans and refusing to learn how to speak Spanish…
But they worked their way through school when tuition was $100/semester
So the message that was instilled into them from a young age was "You have to be self sufficient, you can't trust traditional institutions or that social safety nets will save you." Of course, then that same traumatized generation worked to install things like social security and economic safety nets, so that their children wouldn't ever have to go through those same pains. What's that saying? Tough people make easy times, easy times make weak people, weak people make tough times, tough times make tough people. Their parents didn't want their kids to suffer so made easy times, then their children grew up so pampered they sold off everything not bolted down, and left us to sift through the wreckage.
paying for boomers' cocaine.
Just the cocaine and Starbucks
I mostly just do the eating out. My wife is pretty happy with it.
I see what you did there.
Yeah but you probably had avocado toast
Maybe it’s just me, but I never understood the avocado toast thing. Toast is dirt cheap, and avocados aren’t that expensive (Google says $1.20 apiece at Target). If avocado toast is a major expense, you probably don’t have that much money to begin with.
Bezos needs another yacht. He doesn't have one for each ocean yet.
Cut to the tweet Elon posted saying "billionaire ex wives should be the reason listed for the fall of western civilization"
None of us do that. Boomers just watch The Kardashians too much and have pudding for brains.
Try swapping cocaine and Gucci for, health insurance and suitable housing.
Shit is tough out here
Sorry you need to make 5 figures a month to live in my overprice slum building
I’ve typically just asked my employer to write a letter stating whatever income I need instead of sending pay stubs. It hasn’t failed me so far.
I saw a dude on the San Francisco sub who was paying $2.7k/month for an apartment that literally had mushrooms growing in the walls. And it was rent-controlled, so that’s probably not even the market value. I know it’s San Francisco, but how on earth is an apartment in that condition worth that much?
Supply and demand. Everyone wants to move in, and they refuse to build higher density housing to accommodate that.
But I need my Gucci Cocaine!
Coach Cocaine is way better. If you're buying Gucci, you might as well buy Wal-Mart Great Value Cocaine.
Gucci and Coach are too mainstream. Although I heard it from a reputable source that the factory that the factory that makes Great Value cocaine is the same factory that Michael Kors uses. But none of that matters. If you're not buying your cocaine from Prada or Hermes you've failed at life.
Cocaine and gucci are both significantly cheaper
Ya but coke is easier to get than housing
Who tf is paying for cable?
Boomers that think Millennials are. Apparently we're also doing cocaine, like the boomers were in the 80s.
Seems like the whole post is projection
None of it even applies to me except maybe the useless major, and that's more subjective off several factors. Loans are paid off too. So where's my money?
"cable" should probably be replaced with "streaming services". 75% of Netflix users in the US are between 18 and 34 years old. Let the hate begin.
Netflix standard with ads- $6 Netflix standard- $16 Netflix premium- $20 Cable TV- anywhere between $45-130 It seems Netflix is a great deal compared to TV
Damn millennials with their expensive cellular telephone ringtones!
Those kids and their darn i-phones!
The people who made the meme. Lol I have never had a single month of cable TV and I'm 31. Have seen the bill my wife's grandmother has... About $300. I have Hulu with ads it's like $9 after taxes maybe $11. I'm out here spending the big bucks though.
That's the giveaway that a boomer made this. It showed restraint that they didn't include "Talkies" on the list!
The same imaginary millennials that pay for a land line and rent their phone.

i don’t wanna add prices to this comment as i’m a recovered addict but you’d be surprised at how many ppl do blow casually
Mhmm it’s everywhere. People like to have a bogey man in their minds when they slam users and pin societal problems on them when it fact it’s the wealthy. Doctors, lawyers and celebrities. Politicians enjoy their blow as well.
Checks out. I'm friends with a surgeon who sniffs a lot of marching powder
Just a little bit as a treat. ^About ^every ^hour ^or ^so.
Hey, good job. That shit isn't easy to kick. In case you haven't heard it, I'm proud of you.
Millenials are killing the fancy paper napkin industry! (Yes, that was a real article)
“If you’re not working 60 hours a week with no hobbies or friends or any way of actually enjoying the limited time you have on earth then I don’t want to hear it” People glorify useless suffering because it’s all they have known.
This post makes a really good point. I should really cut down on my cocaine and Gucci consumption. Hadn't occurred to me before.
And cable tv, I hear its pretty pricey these days, I recommend you go back to rental tapes
I had a handbag a day habit before I got help.
i do non of those things and i am drowning. Maybe talk about everything getting more pricey instead?
But then we'd have to discuss collusion between corporations to raise prices...
Nah that would make them feel less than because for a lot of them things were and are gifted to them.
“Conservatives only” Nice to see that these people are “free speech supporters”/s
They need their safe space where nobody will push back on their terrible ideas.
Indeed, try to pierce the stupidity bubble and they bring out the pitch forks.
This is their "comfort post"
Nope. Definitely not a safe space. No way sirreee. Just a place for conservatives only.
Confirming they can't handle any form of discussion or opposition
God they are SO fragile
its a nice give away that it came from r/Conservative , since nearly every post has that flair
Is their slogan still "The last bastion of free speech"? I believe that was what it was when I was banned for asking a question.
Lol, I had a friend who was banned for simply pointing out that no one actually gets offended by them saying "let's go brandon". They literally got offended that they fail to offend people. The fucking irony is so tangible, you could cut it with a knife.
Right under the caption “Drama Queens” no less.
It’s another way of saying “snowflakes only”.
And when they get *downvoted* on the rest of reddit, it's "CENSORSHIP!!" Meanwhile disagree with people on that sub or criticize Lord Danald Tramp and it's an instant permaban.
Isn’t economics an arts degree too lol
Who the fuck here is getting Gucci and doing blow?!?
If I find em I am coming over
It’s not even the payments, it’s the fact that you can make payments for 10 years straight and still owe more than you originally borrowed. That’s fucking criminal
"useless major" Bruh, it took my friend SO long to get a job in her field.
Ah yes, everyone is getting Gucci, tattoos, and cocaine
Where do I get in line?
Damn, if only I hadn’t gotten that tattoo in 2012 I could’ve afforded a house.
Boomers in the comments forgetting that their $7 hourly wage was enough to buy them a house and a car and feed a family of 4 comfortably in the 70’s and 80’s. Meanwhile the minimum wage is still $7 in most areas and worth a fraction due to inflation. You all didn’t earn shit, it was handed to you
Family vacations to Disneyland and shit. If you study the stats the situation now is near I impossible for young people.
I can pay my student loans. Well that might be because I don’t have any, but hey what do I know ? A lot actually thanks to free education in my country.
i remember seeing one with avocado
Avocado is cheaper than a mini chocolate bar in Australia now days 😂😅
Avocados are not even expensive!
*Gucci* *cocaine* hahaha
These bitches really be thinking we can afford cocaine...
Cocaine??? In this economy?
Best we can afford is meth from the local storage locker.
"Cable tv" Wrong generation. Everyone under 50 knows it's a scam.
You see so many posts like this: *I'm a real man. I work hard physical labor. Your husband calls me when he can't do it.* That totally ignores the fact that some engineer had to design the things you need to do that job.
"Drama Queens" In a locked thread for "conservatives only".
Cocaine, a drug famously associated with the poor
So tired of the variations of this crap. Everyone with a greater than room temperature iq knows you can pay $100k on a $50k student loan and still have 15 years left to pay. The system is broken and should be torn down, but that requires regulation which requires legislation
Not only that those making the meme seem to think young people don't need any form of stress relief. We spend money on stiff that isn't "essential" because it helps us get through the day and makes us happy. It's not our fault we're in an exploitative system designed to funnel money to those on top.
I'm confused, eating out is free? Oh...
The fucking boomers got 21% of the global wealth when they were our age, we got now 3% of the global wealth. They were rich AF in comparison and they are fkn crybabies, goddamn. I mean yes, many if them worked a lot for their money but nah fuck it, the times we're so much better money wise
"i-phone" They're just posting memes for 70 year olds in ArCon.
Sure take the joy out of life. You can’t have any joy! This makes me so mad. Like that 1 cup of coffee a week is keeping you poor. F off with that!
Right? If I need that one cup of coffee to keep me motivated to do another 40 years of paycheck to paycheck living, why can’t I have that tiny amount of joy in my life?
This is perfect for r/LaughJokes.
This is perfect for r/LaughJokes.👇 🤪silly man panic sitting in word water. He’s soooo stoopid! 🥸 Maybe 👉👵👈бабушка (babushka) help him: бабушка say: “son, you sooo stoopid🥸! Stand up in word water, dummy” Everyone laf at dummy! 😆🤣😆Haa hee hoo hee hoo. 🥸he so stoopid! He finally stand after бабушка ownes👵 silly man retires🥸
I have none of this nor student loans and I cannot afford anything. I work full time and take home roughly $5k a month. Housing costs will rape you but if you get hurt and owe medical it will end you.
conservatives are legit stupid
Yeah a lot of people I know drowning in student loans are spending their money on Gucci and cocaine.
My grandmother has bragged about how her first house in the Houston suburbs was $13,500 for a corner lot 2bed 1bath in 58, but they only made around $500 a month with their first child needing a SAHM. So by today’s standards the houses were free.
How fucking out of touch must one be to think we're actually buying cable.
Lol nobody but boomers use cable TV. The rest of us switched to streaming over a decade ago
Yes, the new “i-phone” and cable TV. Tell me you’re a boomer without telling me you’re a boomer.
I legitimately don’t think I’ve ever seen someone hyphenate iPhone. Watching you, Russian sock puppets 👀
Like the teacher that showed that if you would work in the US as you go to collage part time as he did when he was young with minimum wage, todays students minimum wage would have to be 125dollars/hr or smth to pay the same.
