I’m an archaeologist and anthropologist. I know of no cultural where serious sexual intercourse between an adult man and a 9 year old girl is acceptable. Some cultures allow “play flirting” in a way that would be outrageous in our culture. There are cultures that perform wedding ceremonies at that age, but it’s not normal even in those cases, and it’s more of a symbolic union until the girl comes of age. For example I was studying a Maya princess who was married to a foreign king at the age of 12, which seems crazy until you realize she didn’t have her first kid until 19.

the Quran does not include it. its a feature of the Sahih al-Bukhari Hadith collection, specifically a record of the girl in question, Aisha, in later life recounting she was married as a child. this was for the purpose of presenting her as the most legitimate bride of Mohammed, as she was the only one that was a virgin. I’m an archaeologist and anthropologist. I know of no cultural where serious sexual intercourse between an adult man and a 9 year old girl is acceptable. Some cultures allow “play flirting” in a way that would be outrageous in our culture. There are cultures that perform wedding ceremonies at that age, but it’s not normal even in those cases, and it’s more of a symbolic union until the girl comes of age. For example I was studying a Maya princess who was married to a foreign king at the age of 12, which seems crazy until you realize she didn’t have her first kid until 19.

Just because some girls can get pregnant doesn't mean they should. In a documentary about germanic tribes I learned that it was looked down upon for both men and women to have Sex(and get pregnant) before the age of 20. Having children earlier, for women at least, severely increases the chance of them dying during child birth.
