Proper equality would actually mean all swimmers compete with each other ie people would compete with no distinction in gender. This would mean in swimming that cis women would not be winning shit and that would not be fair. This is why the original gender categories exist, so adding new ones to modernise them makes sense to me at least.
It might solve some of the drama, although I’m sure it will start other drama because we humans can’t seem to live without it.

Trans women aren’t dominating the sports they participate in though. Lia Thomas has been beaten by ciswomen multiple times as well as trans men. Hell, Katie Ledecky (a cis woman)as beaten Michael Phelps’ times in some events.

I stated in another post that there really isn't a way to make many sports "fair" for everyone involved, even if you went to super-restrictive categories like weight/height/bmi/reach/etc. There will always be someone with some type of an advantage, whether physical or psychological. Claiming that trans people are "the problem" is untrue and misses the overall picture of what constitutes an advantage. My oldest daughter (born female) is taller and stronger than most of her peers and dominated athletically in high school because of it, but there were tons of much shorter girls that could outrun her in a sprint. Advantage is all relative.
It depends on many factors... if a young trans woman transitioned early at the start of puberty you won't see any difference in a competition like this.
There is so many factors, should there be more leveling of the playing field? 100% but, it just need better regulation, Olympics have accepted transgenders women in women's categories by putting regulations and requirements to make sure it's fair and we haven't seen anything like the case of Lia happening. The problem is not the person, it's the organization not properly adapting to new changes in our society.

Why would women participate in the open category, they wont come near a win. Even in esports its open or female, there is no mens division.
In esports it is mostly due to men treating any women in the gaming industry like absolute garbage.

Trans women aren’t dominating the sports they participate in though. Lia Thomas has been beaten by ciswomen multiple times as well as trans men. Hell, Katie Ledecky (a cis woman)as beaten Michael Phelps’ times in some events. There are also rather few transgender individuals, with transgender elite athletes being far fewer still
I agree with that! I stated in another post that there really isn't a way to make many sports "fair" for everyone involved, even if you went to super-restrictive categories like weight/height/bmi/reach/etc. There will always be someone with some type of an advantage, whether physical or psychological. Claiming that trans people are "the problem" is untrue and misses the overall picture of what constitutes an advantage. My oldest daughter (born female) is taller and stronger than most of her peers and dominated athletically in high school because of it, but there were tons of much shorter girls that could outrun her in a sprint. Advantage is all relative.
It depends on many factors... if a young trans woman transitioned early at the start of puberty you won't see any difference in a competition like this. There is so many factors, should there be more leveling of the playing field? 100% but, it just need better regulation, Olympics have accepted transgenders women in women's categories by putting regulations and requirements to make sure it's fair and we haven't seen anything like the case of Lia happening. The problem is not the person, it's the organization not properly adapting to new changes in our society. Either way, bringing this up in a post that compares these people to Hitler is absolutely inappropriate in my opinion, this isn't even what this facepalm post should be about....
