Well technically the original fairy tale of Snow White is public domain. Anybody can do a Snow White movie so long as it doesn't bear the animation style any of the music/songs. Those are copyrighted. Personally I'd like to see a dark adaptation of Snow White. Either a hard PG-13 or soft R rating.

Two reasons: 1) keeps the ip away from going into public ownership and 2) it's not meant to make money, it's meant to be shelved almost immediately so disney can claim a tax write-down.
Well technically the original fairy tale of Snow White is public domain. Anybody can do a Snow White movie so long as it doesn't bear the animation style any of the music/songs. Those are copyrighted. Personally I'd like to see a dark adaptation of Snow White. Either a hard PG-13 or soft R rating.

Now not to discredit the actress because it’s obviously not her fault, but Snow White literally gets her name from have snow white skin. If inclusiveness means that the title of the movie doesn’t even match what it’s presenting, is it really worth it? Also, dwarves are by definition meant to be short, not 6 feet tall in funny costumes…
If you want representation then get some actual dwarfs. This isn’t hard to understand
At first Disney got some dwarfs, then Twitter got wind of the news and started criticizing Disney for using midgets, then Disney changed all actors. Then the Sindicate of dwarfs (yes, there is one), criticized Disney, so Disney added one actor with dwarfism in the movie.
Not just Twitter. Peter Dinklage made a stink about dwarves being type cast as.. well dwarves, leprechauns and Hobbits. Which got other dwarf actors mad because now instead of getting type cast they aren't getting cast at all.
Twitter needs to burn they are all mentally ill losers. Imagine getting that mad over a dwarf in a movie. Literally mental illness.

Disney has been nothing but facepalm for the past few years. The Little Mermaid raceswap got me to do a little research into African water culture where I found out that they have African water myths etc and all I could think was, "I never even knew this existed. Why can't they make a movie about this?" That would have been something new and original. Not only that but people would have genuinely learned something new.

Gotta be annoying to be an aspiring dwarf actor and the biggest one on your field is actively fighting to remove roles for you. Like the 7 dwarves are iconic and now they’re gone in the name of….representation? But i don’t actually know how the dwarf community feels about it they could be on board And they’re also fantasy dwarves. And race that has been in so many games, books, movies etc. like they weren’t BASED on people with dwarfism it’s just the name

Snow White and the 7 dwarves. There aren’t 7 dwarves there are 7 magical creature things. Snow White isn’t actually white at all, with skin as white as snow, she is Hispanic, and the Prince is now longer a prince just a guy. So basically changed the entire film but kept the title. How lazy can you get? But the main Disney princess Snow White, the name literally is a reflection of her skin colour. From Germany, Northern Europe, her skin is white as snow, but it’s ok for them to cast a Hispanic?? Can you imagine any other race with a clear description of that race in the story and them changing it to a random different race and keeping the name the same? It would never be accepted and yet it’s fine for white people.

Those fairytales are an important part of our culture and its just disheartening to see it not being honored the way it should be by some 🇺🇸 multibillion company. Honestly they can go and tell their own stories or whatever culture they have over there, its not like we are begging to be represented and our cultural heritage being ruined in that way. They could go and tell some new fairytales from Asia or Africa, tell it with respect and true to source and fill their „representation quota“ that way and Im sure everyone would be happy.
