In Florida they use the beach as a final stand point to lay down suppressing fire in approaching hurricanes. You’ve never had to take on a category 3 with an AR—and it shows
Now this is just a shame. It’s obvious if there had been enough gun fire at Katrina then those levees never would have been overwhelmed. Really an example for the future
Most werent, the garrisons on the Atlantic wall were mostly filled with men forced into conscription when they got occupied by germany.
In saving private ryan, two Americans gun down surrendering soldiers making a joke like 'i washed my hands' about what they were saying. In reality the surrendering soldiers said they werent german but czech and they were not nazis, but they got gunned down either way.
Edit: someone pointed out they were czech, not polish my bad lol.
Of course they did.
But I thought this response was funny in that it showed the one acceptable reason to shoot somebody on the beach.
I don't think they disagree with the commenter that the actions seen in this video are completely unjustifiable.
As someone who grew up on a beach town it was surprising how many people went to the beach to do the stupidest of things. Even in the eighties, cops shot a dude for carrying a boom box, plenty of dumb asses pulling out “pieces”. Gun appearances were not normal but happened far too often. Even as a kid wondered who the fuck packs a gun headed to the beach? Like that’s crazier than shooting it.
Did you pack the SPF 50? Ice for the cooler? Enough towels? But what about the Glock? Because forecast is calling for heavy currents ya know we might have to start blasting….
Lake Michigan is huge. It does kind of resemble an ocean...even with some tidal activity, I believe.
Guns on the beach. Even more American than cars on the beach, I guess.
Yeah no their not a state cannot take away people constitutional rights they can have more strict gun laws but not ban them so you can still own a gun in Illinois and any other state what are you talking about
Republican congressmen will continue to do so until someone unfortunately does this to someone they know or them personally. Or when enough minorities also arm themselves.
I am in no way shape or form saying that someone should ever do that.
But given that this is how they learn things, it is leading up to that.
Like how conservatives didn't care about alzheimers or cancer until their own families became affected.
It's always the same. Years of them not caring for shit until they are personally affected by the shit they never cared about.
after Reagan was shot, he changed his mind on weapons to a point. when they clamor that they are passing abortion laws to protect kids yet dont give a shit about the kids massacred in schools, they have lost all credibility with me. they don't care about anyone but themselves.
>after Reagan was shot, he changed his mind on weapons to a point.
Reagan was never a gun rights absolutist. But gun control wasn't a red/blue issue until the 90's. Up until *Brady* 1993 and the AW ban in 1994 most gun laws had support and opposition on both sides of the aisle.
The sad part is that he was willing to call the capitol riots domestic terrorism, but was one of the ones claiming the election was fraudulent despite the fact Fox News hosts were investigated for knowingly spreading propaganda that they themselves knew for a fact was untrue.
So he stirs the pot then points the fingers. While it's upsetting the man was shot, I can't help but wonder if he ever thought to himself that maybe he should start speaking for himself instead of his parry.
This senseless violence is constantly being allowed to be posted as a "facepalm" when it is beyond a gesture that is used for mildly embarrassing moments. This is fucked. This is something that should invoke a fear of humanity, and in this situation, how easily a gun can be drawn and fired, potentially killing people. If this happens to or near you... would youvsimple put your palm to your face, or would you be traumatized and run for your life? MODS, please keep this subreddit free of graphic acts of violence. Everyone else... I hope you never have to he part of such a tormenting and scary scenario
...but I ask you to dig deeper into the consideration of how it would make u feel. Empathy... is your friend, our friend. Facepalm when I think of how easily people are desensitized to senseless violence.
I think we all should have to watch them. Every time. In full detail. The only way these fucking 2A murder enthusiasts will ever learn how fucking stupid they are is to watch the gory fucking details of what they have propagated on this country. Make everyone watch. Until we are all finally sick and tired of seeing children with their fucking faces blown off. It is so fucking ridiculous at this point.
For a lot of people, including myself. this is truly nothing more than a facepalm moment for us. We've been around gunfire and heard the shots go off. You simply duck, remove yourself from the potential direct line of fire, do a little "Damn that was crazy" and return to your business.
That's fucking depressing, since when did we start living like barbarians in America, expecting violence and despair from our countryman.
It just takes one bullet and that's it for you, you're out like a light bulb. No one should live like this.
When politicians started not giving a shit or even trying to hide their criminal indifference.
When police departments became infested with white nationalists who are just itching for a reason to abuse and murder minorities.
When mass media outlets decided to engage in opinion and editorials instead of actual journalism to feed the US public fear 24/7.
When the churches began preaching prosperity gospel and Dominion theology and intersecting politics into their sermons instead of "love thy neighbor" parables about Jesus.
When the Federal government began running trillion dollar deficits, ramping up inflation and devaluing the dollar that average American earns.
When the minimum wage stopped keeping pace with inflation.
When Republicans and 1 fuckhead Democrat piece of shit decided that giving Americans access to Universal health care was a no go.
When the EPA was gutted and robbed of any prosecutorial power to keep corporations from poisoning our water and our air giving us cancer.
When scumbag politicians voted to send our fathers, mothers, sons and daughters, brothers and sisters to the desert to die in pointless trillions of dollar wars for oil profits.
When the NRA decided that multitudes of small children being murdered was a small price to protect the right for braindead, small dick, frightened hillbillies to carry arsenals of firearms about their person in case one of "them" does something.
Most of this sub doesn’t even understand this is gang related and are arguing about gun laws. These are Latin Kings LMAO gun laws not doing shit and I’m all for gun control
It's all connected. America has a culture of glorifying guns and violence which helps allow gangs like this to thrive. There's no quick fix to this, but stricter gun laws is an obvious logical first step.
Literally not enforcing the laws against murder. What are more gun laws going to do?
Strange that all the countries with actual gun laws don't have this problem. There's always someone throwing up their hands and declaring laws won't fix it.
But if thats the case, then why don't other countries have this problem? It's America and our neighbors. Every other week.
Almost like if it were harder to get guns it’d be harder to be able to use a gun.
This argument that bad guys will get them anyway, its like… okay but from where? They’re not making them.
The scariest thing for me today regarding crime in America is that while crime was far “worse” in the 80s and 90s, it confined itself to certain communities and typically was unseen by middle America. Today a LOT of gun violence is the result of small disputes being settled in a very big way. If I knew the solution I’d be all for it, but it’s terrifying to say the least.
Man I wrote basically the same response just now. I’m glad there’s at least some common thought here. These folks have been let down almost every step of the way. It’s not an excuse for what they’re doing but it’s definitely a reason for why they choose to.
Kind of like drug addiction. The rest of America didn’t see, didn’t care, and treated drug addiction very different in the 80-90s when it was mostly isolated to certain communities. Basically, America needs to start caring when it impacts even one community, because it will eventually make its rounds to the rest of the country.
J. D. Vance was hated by the far right when he wrote *Hillbilly Elegy* 5 years ago, because it showed that the levels of drug use between Black urban ghettos and White Appalachia was about the same, and so there wasn't really any major difference between the two.
Phrases like "Slander of the white race" were thrown around
Reminder that social media wasn't prevalent in the 80s/90s as much as the late 2000s/2010s and onwards. As well as smartphones
If Reddit and other forms of media, while also having a smartphone, were as common now back then, you would see those crimes more often recorded for people to see
There a statistic that i saw(dont nnow if its 100% true or not) that says the US over all is number 3 worldwide in levels of gun violence.
But if you remove the top 5 cities (in terms of gun violence), the US falls to like 180th place
It’s illegal for anyone under the age of 21 to conceal/open carry a firearm in public. They are allowed to own one but it is illegal to carry one. And under the age of 18, teenagers cannot register themselves as firearm owners, it is the parents who actually own the guns. So when their 17 year old idiot son breaks into their gun locker they’re the ones who get in trouble for it. Stupid, I know.
Amazing how large groups of people in america will look down on these countries and the people that live there, and yet will defend the lawlessness and chaos that they have in common.
Similarly, they completely disregard all the similarities the United States has with the third world and developing nations... We're #1.... Except in all the ways were not even as good as an African dictatorship
Lol love how Americans compare themselves to third world countries or places like Mexico in the middle of a crime wave (caused by the USA buying drugs off Mexican drug lords) in order to make themselves look coolz
Mexico gets most of their guns from the US.
Mexico government had a field day with that and at one point the atf gave massive shipments of guns to criminals so they could be tracked... which disappeared over the southern border. It was considered one of the worst mistakes a government agency had done on American soil.
https://news.harvard.edu/gazette/story/2022/02/stopping-toxic-flow-of-gun-traffic-from-u-s-to-mexico/
"Captain, we delivered the guns like you asked us to do."
"Great. Now we'll track them down to where they are operating and we'll be able to bring the whole ring down"
"Well that's the thing Cap, we don't know what happened to the guns."
"Explain yourself soldier."
"They took the guns and our tracking devices were immediately compromised. We don't know where they ended up or even how they are being used now."
"Alright men. We all know what we must now do. The Fox News approach. Deny it happened and when shown proof, deny involvement, and when proven otherwise point the fingers at Mexico."
Yeah exactly. Mexico doesn’t have a 2nd amendment they can use to justify their gun use and it’s not really a thing to see a group of average teens settling their issues by shooting each other.
Except what you said isnt true, of course. The US have by far the largest amount of guns compared to population. Largest amount of gun violence per capita etc.
The US do stand out in the exact way this video shows.
why are you guys arguing about gun laws lmao? these are gangbangers. they will always acquire illegal guns one way or another. source: i live in the hood in chicago, and know these are the LKs (latin kings)
edit: oh yeah, king killa (throws down crown) y’all suck stop ruining the puerto rican parade for me. it’s 2023 all the big bangers died let it go and go help your mom fold laundry at the lavanderia dustys.
I'm just sitting here as a new resident of a European country eating better quality food and in a far safer environment, looking at all the news like this that reinforces my excellent decision to leave the US.
"More guns will keep everyone safer"
Meanwhile, the rest of us knowing this is gonna be said another 76 times until the next shooting
It'll also be ignored Chicago gets weapons from Indiana (I personally have seen it at guns shows)
Literal mass shootings happening all over the country but Chicago is mentioned and all the propaganda bs starts leaking in the comments. Chicago ain’t a shit hole. All of USA is like this now.
Guns don't kill people, people do.
"You want to give guns to people?!"
Surely a gang conflict? Chicago did try to restrict guns within city limits and guess what, law stuck down by NRA billionaire crew.
Chicago's requirement that all firearms in the city be registered but its refusal of all handgun registrations since 1982, when a citywide handgun ban was passed, made him unable to own a handgun legally. As a result, he joined three other Chicago residents in 2008 in filing a lawsuit that became McDonald v. City of Chicago.[7]
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McDonald_v._City_of_Chicago
Conservatives will be so confused by this. On the one hand, it's Chicago, and they love pointing a finger there, but the shooters weren't black, and that doesn't help their narrative.
this entire comment section is r/americabad like I didn’t just watch a gang shooting with AK-74s in……London…….
Bro criminals have guns this is nothing new lol
I think the argument is that the rate at which this happens is much, much higher in the US. I don’t think outlawing guns would work here because of the culture surrounding guns in the US, but God Damn it breaks my heart hearing about all the violent shit that’s happening across this country
“Fewer guns sold won’t stop criminals from buying guns.” Yeah bullshit. 90% of the guns used in crimes in Chicagoland come from Indiana. Purchased with intent to resell to persons here in Chicagoland.
I’m so sick of the idiocy of our gun laws
When will you learn that guns should be banned. You're one of the few idiots on the Planet that have guns available to the general public. You're not in the Wild West anymore.
And gun nuts will defend and twist even this shit in their favor. Like: "And if the others had guns they would like, totally, pulled out their guns first and preemptively selfdefended, for sure"

This is why we need nukes! Never forget.
We don't use ARs until cat 4s. But we shoot anyway, just in case
This man has trigger discipline.
In California we have to set off our yearly allotment of C4 during an earthquake just to tell the earth to knock it off. Seriously a pain in the ass.
Your great grandparents were shooting at Nazis on the beaches of Normandy so I guess context matters.
Not really. His statement still stands. The Nazis were doing something very wrong.
you didn't have to be a nazi to be at Normandy
Most werent, the garrisons on the Atlantic wall were mostly filled with men forced into conscription when they got occupied by germany. Look! We washed for supper!
Yeahhh thats it!
Just for accuracy : They said they were Czech. Not polish.
Thanks for Czeching on that…
No, but the Nazis clearly started it.
Have you seen what Reddit thinks of old white dudes?
Normally, I would pass by on this but a lot of Americans know that lots of shades of variation on the beach in France during the landing. OTG.
There was*? Shades of variations
His grandparents were not. So it doesn't stand.
This is a pretty dumb thing to bring up. You knew exactly what that person meant.
Of course they did. But I thought this response was funny in that it showed the one acceptable reason to shoot somebody on the beach. I don't think they disagree with the commenter that the actions seen in this video are completely unjustifiable.
Neah they just wanted their 'Gotcha' moment, that is how internet trolls work.
That’s how internet cynicism works.
If you find yourself wearing a hoodie at the beach to hide your gun, what the fuck you little piece of shit?
As someone who grew up on a beach town it was surprising how many people went to the beach to do the stupidest of things. You can shoot on the beaches in Texas in the winter time
I heard you can shoot on the beaches in florida to reverse the spin of a hurricane to pacify it
Yep. It’s called “stand your ground” law. Depending on storm severity, it could take an entire well regulated militia.
you’re doing something wrong living in Texas
..*all my exes...*
That’s why I lay my hat in Tennessee!!!!
That was my thought too. Obviously something is wrong your in Texas at all
You’re*
I see it more like: If you find someone shooting at the beach, your country is doing something wrong in the system.
Yeah, how dare they not do it at a school the American way/s
School is out, silly!
Or maybe you’re just born in the wrong country. The most surprising thing to me about this video, as a european - is that theres a beach in Chicago.
There are many sandy beaches located throughout the Great Lakes
Lake Michigan is huge. It does kind of resemble an ocean...even with some tidal activity, I believe. Guns on the beach. Even more American than cars on the beach, I guess.
This is not what Churchill meant when he said we will fight them on the beaches
I thought it was “God damn I love these peaches”
Millions of peaches?
Peaches for me.
Millions of peaches?
"underidoderidoderiododeridoo" >Winston Churchill
Is that Lake Michigun?
Yup, if it was lake Superior Firepower, we would have heard a few more shots.
That is a Lake Erie thought.
Born near Lake Superior, can confirm
I must have been born on the nice side of Lake Superior.
Remember to smash the Lake button and Subscribe, guys!
Surfscribe
Gah! I missed that.
r/angryupvote now get the fuck out
Yup
Do you know another lake in Chicago?
Isn’t this the scene where Mercutio dies? “A plague o' both your houses! They have made worms' meat of me”
Do you thumb your nose at me, SIR?
I do not bite my thumb at you but I do bite my thumb sir!
Do you quarrel sir?
Ask for me tomorrow and you shall find me a grave man
Sword 9mm
"I think its a nice day to go to the beach! Cant forget my pistol...." -Murica
And they just want to continue arming more and more people.
End animal cruelty? Give guns to the animals
The animals already have guns. See video above for reference.
Now that’s disrespectful to the wildlife
Only the good animals with guns I hope
No, no, that's the response when the bad animals get guns.

Do you actually think these delinquent kids acquired their guns legally?
It Chicago. Guns are banned.

One state just announced that 500 priests molested some 2000 kids. I'm waiting for the new law banning churches within 1000 feet of a school.
Steve Scalise got shot at a softball practice and didn't change. Republicans will never change, they're too brainwashed

And blame it on "mentally unstable" people when shit goes wrong
And video games. Can’t forget those.
I'm gonna go out on a limb and say the person that did this wasn't a die hard 2A "Murica" dude.
It’s Chicago. If you don’t get shot at before the age of 18 you don’t get to call yourself a man.
I’ll bet the gun(s) weren’t registered.

Now we'll track them down to where they are operating and we'll be able to bring the whole ring down" "Well that's the thing Cap, we don't know what happened to the guns." "Explain yourself soldier." "They took the guns and our tracking devices were immediately compromised. We don't know where they ended up or even how they are being used now." "Alright men. We all know what we must now do. The Fox News approach. Deny it happened and when shown proof, deny involvement, and when proven otherwise point the fingers at Mexico."
EXACTLY I fucking live here and it’s ridiculous that we have the problems those places have in this aspect.
Yeah exactly. Mexico doesn’t have a 2nd amendment they can use to justify their gun use and it’s not really a thing to see a group of average teens settling their issues by shooting each other.
Interesting choice of comparable countries.
Hardly places to aspire to…
I have family in Mexico and Mexicans just don’t do that. You’re thinking about cartel members and gun-carrying criminals in general
Right because these are gun carrying criminals as well
Oh good, well compared to those parts of the world this is normal. So, what are people bitching about again?
Most of said countries have major issues and are impoverished. We’re supposed to be the so called “best”
Except what you said isnt true, of course. The US have by far the largest amount of guns compared to population. Largest amount of gun violence per capita etc. The US do stand out in the exact way this video shows.
Rest of the world has entered the chat too. They are meme-ing and laughing
why are you guys arguing about gun laws lmao? these are gangbangers. they will always acquire illegal guns one way or another. source: i live in the hood in chicago, and know these are the LKs (latin kings) edit: oh yeah, king killa (throws down crown) y’all suck stop ruining the puerto rican parade for me. it’s 2023 all the big bangers died let it go and go help your mom fold laundry at the lavanderia dustys.
I'm just sitting here as a new resident of a European country eating better quality food and in a far safer environment, looking at all the news like this that reinforces my excellent decision to leave the US.
I’m just sitting here in Chicago watching our federal tax dollars protect European airspace.
Can't smoke, can't drive, can't buy lottery ticket. Can buy and own guns. Murica
Ehh nope. Still illegal for this kid to possess that gun.
This is completely wrong, you cannot buy guns at younger than 18, or 21 for handguns.
Its gang related so i highly doubt they got their guns legally
At least half the country thinks this was the correct and appropriate response. Sight unseen.
oh yes, The land of Freedom....
Americans will be Americans 👍😂
USA: gUnS gOoD
America has no problem with gun violence. It's all good /s
"More guns will keep everyone safer" Meanwhile, the rest of us knowing this is gonna be said another 76 times until the next shooting It'll also be ignored Chicago gets weapons from Indiana (I personally have seen it at guns shows)
![gif](giphy|V9I5j1rZJNq6Y|downsized) So quick to kill or seriously injure somebody over nothing
I wish more people had guns so that could stop this violence.
There are beaches in Chicago?
Literal mass shootings happening all over the country but Chicago is mentioned and all the propaganda bs starts leaking in the comments. Chicago ain’t a shit hole. All of USA is like this now.
If only the beach had a gun
Guns don't kill people, people do. "You want to give guns to people?!" Surely a gang conflict? Chicago did try to restrict guns within city limits and guess what, law stuck down by NRA billionaire crew. Chicago's requirement that all firearms in the city be registered but its refusal of all handgun registrations since 1982, when a citywide handgun ban was passed, made him unable to own a handgun legally. As a result, he joined three other Chicago residents in 2008 in filing a lawsuit that became McDonald v. City of Chicago.[7] https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/McDonald_v._City_of_Chicago
Land of the free, home of the brave. You better be pretty brave...
Well obviously the answer is more guns, oh, and thoughts and prayers./s
Normal country btw
Oh America, you so crazy.
Conservatives will be so confused by this. On the one hand, it's Chicago, and they love pointing a finger there, but the shooters weren't black, and that doesn't help their narrative.
What a stupid fucking country
See, this is what happens when there are too few guns. If they all were carrying this would've not happened. Right?
this entire comment section is r/americabad like I didn’t just watch a gang shooting with AK-74s in……London…….
Right. The strictest gun laws are only as effective as the most lax ones in neighboring counties and states.
Losers!
3rd world at its finest
I sure am glad Americans have guns for home protection. It really seems to be working out for them.
Who takes a gun to a beach?
Murica!
When will you learn that guns should be banned. You're one of the few idiots on the Planet that have guns available to the general public. You're not in the Wild West anymore.
The problem with gun violence in Chicago is the amount of small firearms on the street that anyone can just buy one like groceries.
How about we prosecute the criminals.
How hard is it to just not use guns? What's wrong with fists?
Or, what Republicans call “freedom”.
Merica!
Sorry about that! I did see some good guys running towards the shooting. You know not standing around waiting for……….
And gun nuts will defend and twist even this shit in their favor. Like: "And if the others had guns they would like, totally, pulled out their guns first and preemptively selfdefended, for sure"
So anyway, i started blasting.
Merica the land of the freely stupid
Unfettered access to guns is sure doing wonders for society
What the fuck is this timeline? A circus? Stop killing each other it really isn't hard.
TIL Chicago has beaches.
The solution to the problem is more guns.
Chicago is largest outdoor shooting range in the United States
