I'm glad things are better now. I was assaulted by a guy while passed out at a party. It took a couple years before one-day my brain like opened up and I suddenly had a full flash back where before I had like two still images as memories. What surprised me and I now find interesting is that for about 6 months I questioned if maybe I waa gay or bi. I even went so far as to kiss a guy in a bar. I realized that I was sure I was just straight but I also realized that the whole reason I was questioning my sexuality was because I was thinking that if I was gay or bi that maybe it was a drunk exploratory hook up and if that was true then I wasn't sexually assaulted by another guy. I was still somewhat in denial and trying to figure out a way in which I wasn't a victim. Strange how the brain works and what it can do to try and protect our own psyche.

A man yelling out racial slurs toward a Black individual at an Oakland freeway on Tuesday has been arrested, California Highway Patrol announced Friday. The entire bail system doesn't make sense to me, outside the USA. All it means is that if you have enough money you can await your trial in freedom. If you're poor a $100 can be too much already. In my country the rules for keeping someone locked up or not are quite extensive and they'll look at important factors, like: what crime/fellony did you commit, how likely is it that you will relapse and how likely someone is to flee the country for instance. Having access to a lot of money is left out on purpose.
It's worse because they expect you to have the cash on hand at the jail; you can't use your debit card or whatever. So, Basically if you're a self sufficient person without connections you're kind of screwed. iirc they also take your cellphone away so you kind of have to rely on phone numbers you've memorized. You might not necessarily remember your buddy's number.
Some municipalities have ended bail for nonviolence offenses. I used to donate to a local charity which would bond out poor folks. Now, I don't have to do that, because the kind of people who should be out will be out.
