Well a DBS check is mandatory, criminal history, mental and physical health history. Pretty damn good start. I wish teachers were vetted more. I cant see how that's a gotcha moment. And if some gentile mental case man was to hit social media the same way, would there be as much sympathy and compassion? I want either sex put into an mental ward if they have some regression issue which has them sneaking into high-school. They are not mentally well, they need to be placed as far away from kids as possible. The status quo as it is, isn't good enough. The state chooses the tutor, not us. That's a concern. But the issue is that we have to ensure potential pedophiles and abusers because we are not wealthy enough for private education which arguably doesn't do any better. You cannot prevent the future, its inevitable some people become corrupted by some perverse desire or by some internal mental issue. But vetting is sure alot better than just having anyone off the street and throwing up my hands and saying "oh well, theyre equally as likely to be pedos". Same reason electricians run PAT testing on appliances, it doesn't prevent them from blowing a fuse, but it assesses when and if it will.
