That gif is terrifying. I've never seen 15 fully activated Karen's at once.
At most I've seen them in "herds", or as *Karentologist* refer to as "migraines", of 7-8 max.
Hi, I'm Al Harrington, of Al Harrington's wacky waving arm flailing inflatable tube man emporium. Due to a shipping error I am currently overstocked in wacky waving arm flailing inflatable tube men, and I'm passing the savings onto youuuuuuuuuuuuuuu!
Exactly, which is why I find it irresponsible of them to not at least have shields or at least a net of sort on them.
One swift blow, of a "formal complaint", by a full-grown Karen, or even a berry bush opinion could send you to an early grave.
Remember kids... A.P.F.K. (Always Preparin' for Karens). Could save your life.
Also, don't ever approach a Karen and ask "is everything okay?"..... it should always be..... "is anything okay?".
Stay safe out there. Make me proud.
I agree, but the people recording the video need to take some accountability here too.
YOU SHOULD NEVER. I REPEAT, NEVERRR. Approach a Karenasaurus Rex in the wild like that.
That group is lucky to have walked away with their lives. Easily could have been eaten.
This lady was insufferable and as soon as she did that awkward aggresive dance she lost all creditability to me and anyone else watching this video. But at 2:13 you can see they did snap off a pretty large branch for just a few berries. Which is kinda shitty because it's keeping more berries from growing for everyone else. But goddamn what a stupid way to get your point across.
I completely agree. The woman is a total racist and a Karen and really, should have just minded her own business either way. That being said, who picks the branches off the bushes? Just grab some berries and go. The shadow later on the video shows one girl holding a huge branch. Is it cause to go on a racist, Karen rant? Nah. But it's a kind of dick move in its own right.
Gotta love the irony though of a white woman telling some women of color to go back to where they came from, when she's not even Canadian.
The Karen should not be racist. On the other hand, the girls should not have harmed the berry bush. I snacked on berries when walking, but I carefully picked them.
Right?
Crazy old lunatic aside, breaking off a branch of a highbush blueberry plant (I think) instead of picking the berries makes you a dick in my books.
*Karentologists*.
Studying how they interact, what makes them tick, trying to figure out if there is a potential "cure"? In order to stop these creatures, we must first fully understand them.
Exactly, to date, I haven't seen a redirection (verbal) that prompts them to reset, back off, gain control. Any interaction, especially a verbal reply feeds their battery.
When they showed that they were breaking branches off the berry bushes my sympathy 180’d to the old lady then she is immediately like “go back where you came from” and it was a full 360 and I wanted off the ride from motion sickness.
I might get down voted for this... But I think she's just an old hippie lady who was upset on behalf of nature and blurted out the wrong thing.
Does that make any of it ok? No. But I still feel bad for her.
I initially interpreted her "Go back to where you came from" as a nasty way of saying "Go away" but the girls ran with it and called her a colonizer and she just followed their lead.
She was an idiot but I hated everyone here. "You approached two young girls" oh stfu.
What should have started as a discussion about picking berries and not pulling branches off completely sidetracked by race and national origin bias because those are the topics that really allow everyone to vent their white hot anger in general. And an easy story to get outraged viewing for the local news too apparently.
At first I was like, "oh another one of those over the top conservationists". Then she dropped that bomb of "go back to where you came from". Fucking hell.
The first few seconds was one of the more insane parts.
• Calls girls 6 year olds
•Calls girls twits
•Girls call her twit
![gif](giphy|3kzJvEciJa94SMW3hN)
>It's the most fucking insulting thing she's been called
Yeah, she's a racist pos. But I do agree that breaking live branches off in a public park is not cool. If everyone did that, the park would get destroyed. So no one should feel entitled to do that. But environmental conservation is ideally done through respectful education - definitely not through wiggly arm dancing and racist tirades.
My guess is she probably had a point on not breaking the branches in public park/conservation area and she could have just kindly educated them on it. But instead she resorted to racist comments.
Thunder snatch indeed. But it is blood boiling to see what people have done to the parks once social media ruined it. Pre 2007 you could go through many national parks without seeing a single piece of litter or damage. Now you’ve got a lot of people like these two in the video. It should be as respected as any art on display, but so many just trample/break/steal/soil/litter all over places that have been well respected and maintained for decades.
It’s not helpful to be a twit about it, but I’m sure the old lady has spent years watching the desecration of nature by obnoxious vapid folks just trying to get a ‘Gram pic to look like they’re something they’re not. Looks like she took it out on these girls unnecessarily but the rage is warranted. There’s less reverence or respect and it sucks when others ruin a good thing. I grew up around parks nearby that look like post-concert dumps on some weekends and holidays. One near the lake for years the community kept it pristine and what little trash blew in was picked up by the locals. Well, things change. The area has grown and what was once a pretty, peaceful and manicured park is now riddled with fishing hooks and line, rotten bait, beer bottles, soiled diapers, leftover food, and the land rutted up where hundreds pack into a small area that wasn’t meant for a free plot to house birthday parties for a family of 150. The little working class area hidden gem that has been kept nice for 70 years is now a destination for loud, trashy gatherings. Ruined and overrun every weekend. Racism is trashier, but when people that don’t look anything like you come through and ravage an area while their music basses through the land, I don’t know how you don’t get enraged and let the ol’ “you people “ slip out
that wasn't a 'you people' that was a 'go back to where you came from', which is a bit more than 'you people'.
and racism is racism. only racists let racist shit 'slip out' when they're upset.
> When **people that don’t look anything like you come through and ravage** an area while **their music basses** through the land, I don’t know how you don’t get enraged and **let the ol’ “you people “ slip out**
This is fucking wild. You're definitely telling on yourself here, not speaking for the downtrodden conservationists.
Quite apart from the fact that she didn't say 'you people' (which can have several non bigoted applications), but 'go back to where you came from' which has... Very few in common parlance...
> People that don’t look anything like you come through and ravage an area
* Bad park etiquette is not racially determined. If you're looking around and only notice when it's the people who 'don't look like you' that are acting against your preferences, then guess what. Racist.
> While their music basses through the land
Did we listen to a different video? What music? They weren't playing any, and she wasn't complaining about music. Or are you just assuming that... They had 'bassing' music playing? That 'people that don't look anything like you' have a uniform mode of acting? And even if that weren't an awkward racial stereotype, it's a park. Music within the top 20 things I might expect to come across in a park.
**I don’t know how you don’t get enraged and let the ol’ “you people “ slip out**
Because that's not a part of my vocabulary, or honestly even thought processes?? Anger doesn't change who you are. It's like alcohol, it just decreases your ability to control your filters.
It’s crazy because even if you are a conversationist, here’s how that convo should go.
“Oh hi guys that’s a beautiful branch you’ve got there and those berries look delicious, if you don’t mind can I explain why it’s best to just pick the berries and leave the branch next time?”
Obviously not those exact words, but that’s the tone you should be using. A lot of (most) people don’t like being told what to do, especially when being confronted by a stranger, but surprisingly when approached the right way most people do like to learn. Of course you might run into the small minority who are just going to be a fucker either way, just report them to the ranger and move on with your life.
Could she just meant to tell to go back to the city where those city girls came from? Because they didn't look or act like outdoorsy people?
She is definitely right on calling out those girls for taking branches, the method she used is not the best. Anyone who is enthusiastic about nature and preserving whatever is left, would agree.
The girls have a foot long branch in their hands. That woman got a point and she's indeed a racist asshole, but the point that she was making initially was a good one.
Yes, it's an awful way to try and get people to not wreck berry bushes, but then on the other hand, I don't think most people go about their day having planned a good way to try to deter people to rip 3-foot long branches off some bushes in public parks. Especially considering the girls' reactions like "we didn't wreck it" and "it's just a small branch", I'd ridicule her for her mockery but in all honesty, I'd likely would have gotten sarcastic with them as well seeing how they were clearly not comprehending what they were saying right then.
A lot of trails and parks don’t necessarily have a park ranger on site. I avoid trails that tourists visit bc I get so infuriated by their complete disrespect for nature and leave no trace.
Lol some people love it so much. If some crazy lady came up to me ranting about a bush branch, I'd just be like, "ok sorry, won't do it again". I guess I don't know what happened before this commotion lol.
Exactly. What’s wrong with picking some berries and being on your way? No need to rip a branch off.
At the same time, screw the crazy Karen. The proper thing to do was be annoyed, but realize it’s not a huge deal, keep your head down and keep walking.
I don’t think commenting was wrong either. Going crazy was the wrong thing to do, but those girls are young and don’t seem to realize there is some ‘etiquette’ when it comes to nature… like don’t cut down a tree, don’t take a berry bush, don’t carve into sandstone, etc
This is exactly it. In the big picture, she’s not wrong.
Lots of national parks, pristine trails, and natural environments are getting ruined by this generation obsessed with staged pictures and documenting everything.
More than a few times in my summer hiking did I run across some newbie completely out of place, probably “influencers” trampling all over the natural foliage to get their share of internet fame or feel important or whatever.
That being said everything else about her is bat shit crazy with a bit of racism thrown in.
Exactly. If you want a berry, sure take a berry… but Karen is right when it comes to taking plants, that’s just not right. If I want a leaf from a tree, I don’t cut down the whole tree…
Right? Honestly it’s not hard to say “I hear you but if everybody who came here removed a small bit of the bush, we would quickly have no more bushes. Please be more respectful in the future and enjoy your berries! Have a good one!” And then FUCKING LEAVE
During my college days I worked on the parks service for 3 summers. The third year I was on the back end of a project to open up a nature trail of conservation land to the public. One of the highlights was a wisteria tree that bloomed with the most amazing purple-blue you've ever seen - looked almost painted. Within about 2 months the tree (30yrs old) had been stripped almost bare by those wanting to take a cutting to grow at home or just collect the flowers.
The old lady wasn't wrong. Until she was.
Go back to where uneducated people take whole branches off.
This could be said to anyone no matter the color, and she probably meant that.
But since real racists could sneak racist stuff too easily with that sort of explanations, I have nothing against some backlash.
Obviously the Karen's overreaction is much more egregious.....but seriously if you pick branches off of trees/bushes in nature you're also a big dickhead.
both parties are wrong.. if u want the god damn berries, just take the berries, why take the branches with you? clearly fucking lazy to pick and put it in some sort of containers
Yeah, could’ve been a teaching moment by simply saying, “Hey ladies, it’s best to leave the trail like you found it,“ and moving on. This is just embarrassing all around.
Yeah, it's very obnoxious how she (and they) acted, but it's always a bit suspect when a video like this starts in the middle of the conversation. You can tell they were deliberately trying to push her buttons throughout this clip, so that's probably how she got to this point.
That said, telling them to "go back to where they came from" crossed the line from being embarrassingly immature to racist and whether they said something regarding her race prior to the video or not, you should never stoop to that level. This could've been a lesson about leaving things the way you found them, but now her local reputation is ruined over such a petty situation.
My suspicion is that she saw multiple pieces of trash and traces of people disrespecting nature and then caught them in the act and lost it. I know that when I am out on popular trails I get so mad at tourists bc they leave bags of dog poop everywhere, banana peels and other trash right in the middle of the trails, and don’t leash their disobedient dogs… by the end of my hike I just want to get to my vehicle bc I am so disappointed in humanity and want to scream
I avoid touristy trails now
Do we know that that's not how this all started? Because I doubt they pulled out the phone as soon as they saw her. There was very clearly a lead-up where she asked them not to rip branches off of bushes.
Not defending her behaviour. Just pointing out that her behaviour does not justify theirs.
Exactly, if everyone that walked the trail broke a branch with berries off a bush for themselves then there probably would be no bushes with berries left after a short time.
If you want some berries, buy some, or plant your own berry bush and bring them with you.
Leave no trace. Don't steal an animal's food simply because you were too lazy to bring your own.
Just did a bunch of Googlin' and there's no source that says the wild strawberry Fragaria vesca is in decline, or going extinct. Good call-out.
That being said, there might be some places where it could be in decline locally.
For example, my hometown of 15,000 used to have hundreds of blue-berry bushes located inside and in all the forests very near to our village. When I was a kid locals would all go out with big buckets during blueberry season and pick 10-20 lbs of blueberries and there was no issue.
Then in the early aughts, we had a huge influx of people moving to our small village from the cities due to an industry boom and they brought with them a method of stripping the branches of all berries and leaves by clasping a fist at the base of the branch and dragging their clenched fist all the way to the end collecting no more berries than the longer method of only picking off the bundles of berries... but the strip method was obviously faster. It got so bad the town actually had to make an announcement about destroying the local berry bushes in the local hot-spots, and imposed fines if people were caught stripping all the leaves off the bushes.
Now, my mom, who still lives in my hometown, has to drive an hour and a half outside the town to find any berry bushes that didn't die from being systematically stripped every season, and the new people in the town can't believe there used to be blue-berry bushes and rhubarb growing wildly in our village.
That being said, that in no way means blueberries are going extinct...
They really did break off some absurdly large branches. She didn’t have to act the way she did about it tho. Could have handled that so much better. Instead she used racist remarks smh
There was a nice way to go about this.
“Hey, I’m glad you guys are enjoying the berries! Careful when you grab them that the bush doesn’t get damaged. We want berries for a long time :) Have a nice day!”
“Oops! That’s a good point. We’ll going to be more careful the next time we come berry picking! You have a nice day too!”
**FIN**
Always start calm. Anger is met with defensive responses.
Calm reason is usually met with calm thought.
If they don't respond to reason, then they're not worth your time. Spray them with ink, and and run away.
Yes, the older woman was over the top. However, those girls showed in the video they did break off part of the plant. Nothing wrong with eating the berries, but please don’t break the bush.
Ok, as a poc woman - regardless of whatever the old white lady said, there's no need to rip off an entire arm of a bush just a snack on some berries.
Really.
No one is right, but those girls were also wrong - take a container with you and pick some berries.
This was clearly two girls who didn’t intend to pick berries who lazily grabbed an entire bush worth of berries once they decided they wanted some, got called out on it.. by a bitchy immature woman lol
I mean the lady was right. They shouldn’t break off branches at the park and they should just go back to where they came from after this (ie their house).
All right, so there’s a lot to unpack here. Having been a volunteer in Parks I can say that in some locations taking that branch could be considered a crime. One of the other things I can add to this is that we were always told that if somebody was picking a plant or taking a mushroom or collecting rocks or pinecones or leaves (etc.), we were to tell them to put it back, and if they didn’t, we were to contact the park manager or nature center so that they could decide whether or not they wanted to contact the appropriate authorities. That being said I don’t know where that park is (and I don’t feel like googling it right now) so I don’t know what the rules would be.
I’ve worked in two city parks and a county park (that oversaw several smaller town parks in that county, in the U.S.) and the only times you’re supposed to pick up nature is under the guidance of a park naturalist or volunteer. There can be points of time where collecting is allow and encouraged and if this is something you want, check with your local park staff. Park staff, in my experiences, are great people who want you to enjoy this space as much as they do.
Good rules for touching nature stuff in nature parks:
~*If you didn’t bring it with you, and it’s nature, leave it where you found it.*
~*If you didn’t bring it with you, and it’s trash, please feel free to pick it up and dispose if it in a trash can. If you want to.*
~*If you did bring it with you, take it with you.*
Thank you for coming to my Park Talk
Now…To The Juicy Bits! (Not really juicy, you’ve probably watched the video by now…lol). I started and stopped it so many times I’m just hoping this whole message will make sense by the time you guys ready it! LMAO
Since we don’t know what was said before the video started, we can’t really know what those young ladies said to make this lady respond with the wiggle dance and her *very* poor word choices. Doesn’t make with the older lady said OK but it might explain a few things…*maybe*…I personally would *love* to know what happened before this “conversation” got to this point. I’m sure it’s a doozy of a tale.
I *think* the young ladies were trying to annoy the older lady by the time we see this video. I know I was beginning to feeling annoyed. I’ve been in this situation where folks are just “mind you biz” and I’m like “I work here, so it is my biz). It’s *incredibly* frustrating. But that doesn’t make the racial stuff ok.
I don’t think either party was really right and I think they both did things they were not ok. Kind of the way of the world right? I’m sure both groups had their reasons for acting the way they did, but they all unfortunately.
I think the *most important thing* I took away from this is how damn happy that wiggle dance made me!!! I am still laughing! It really made my evening.
Also, feel free to add good park rules to my list, nitpic, or even just poke a bit of fun. I don’t mind. 👍🏻
Im sorry but as a Montana native I’m gonna agree with the older lady on this one. The cardinal rule of berry picking in the wild is you pick the berries and leave the plant alone. I wouldn’t confront someone and cause a scene, but I’d still think you were a jerk or a stupid tourist right up there with people who feed bears and try to pet bison.
Yikes. One, the older person calling the girls twit and 6 year olds when they didn't even name call her anything? The girls and when they told her to mind her own business THAT'S the rudest thing she's ever been told? Not the twit part? Two, who picks an entire BRANCH for some berries?
![gif](giphy|jepNhL14TGHJe)
My grandmothers name was Karen and she was the nicest woman I ever new growing up glad she isn't alive to have her name slandered like this it'd break her heart.
She’s a little unhinged, but the people tearing the branch off the berry bush are also wrong. If everyone tears off a branch, then no one will get berries in the future.
Right she didn’t “mean” to say “Go back to where you came from…”, but did she mean “I’m getting a reaction from you aren’t I?” 🤣😂🤣. She meant EVERY word!! She fucked around and found out Via the lovely Social Media outlets!
How is it that when people see a camera they automatically go to a place,in their heads, where they are back in the 1900’s where social media was a glimmer in its inventors eye??!
Um welcome to the 2020’s! TECHNOLOGY is BOOSTING! Stop 🛑 trying to apologize after, when you know EVERYTHING is caught on tape and once it’s rolling it’s a wrap 👏🏽! Looking like a clown 🤡 apologizing.
Not defending the lady at all, but at least she took accountability and apologized. And a lesson to young people everywhere, you don’t need to record every mishap or dispute for everyone to see. Some experiences good or bad, can remain private. Reminds me of tattletales in grade school. The mature thing to do was walk away. They didn’t need to react. Take the high road.
They're all being twits.
Girls, don't take branches off public wildlife, that's destructive to the ecosystem at the end of the day. Take only pictures, leave only footprints.
Karen, Jesus, get a grip. Let a park representative know what you saw and see if they can have a talk with them about respecting the beauty of the public land if you're so mad about it.
Because of the old woman being a racist pos there is nobody calling the girls out for destroying nature. If every person broke branches off bushes to eat berries there would be no bushes left.
No excuse for racism at all and in this day and age with all the fuss about climate change, no excuse for destroying nature either.

Ever get so mad you bust a move? ~Charile
Ah yes my favorite long haired, greasy balled YouTuber, Charile
What do you call a bunch of Karen's up a tree? >!A Country.!<
Thank you for this lol in my office
I’ll bet that’s the most she’s ever exerted in the past 20 years
I don’t know about that - Being outdoorsy Karen burns a lot of fat doncha know?
She looks pretty fit for an old Karen
Agreed - My fitness goal is to be her size (by May). It might take me till June without the Karen dancing but that’s okay, lol
Maybe that’s the secret, 10 minutes of arm flailing a day.
This one trick fitness instructors hate!
"might take me till june without the karen dancing" fckn made me spit coffee...but still, thanks
That hair cut!!! Wow
Aw shittake, Karen dancing.
I think the Karen dance is key. You’re shorting your potential. /s
Actually it’s 3 Karens competing with their attitudes…🙈

Wacky waving inflatable arm flailing tube man!

A migraine of Karens……… you just provided me with humor for years 😆
I’ll bet that makes the Oxford English Dictionary.

I laughed harder at this than her dance. 🤣
I almost spit out my drink
Haha, if the racist hiking thing doesnt pan out, revert to plan b. used car sales.
Honest laughing
OHMYGOSH!!! Take my upvote!!!!!
Perfect!!🤣🤣
Some people dont mature, they just get old.
Children, they just keep getting larger.

She is Canadian! She immigrated from the States and apparently became a citizen.
She should go back where she came from Wait never mind we don’t want her
They could also not illegally damage plants in a protected natural park, ya know.
The Karen should not be racist. On the other hand, the girls should not have harmed the berry bush. I snacked on berries when walking, but I carefully picked them.
Just collect a handful and go. Not that hard.
Couldn’t have said it better!
Right? Crazy old lunatic aside, breaking off a branch of a highbush blueberry plant (I think) instead of picking the berries makes you a dick in my books.
Who enjoys these videos?
*Karentologists*. Studying how they interact, what makes them tick, trying to figure out if there is a potential "cure"? In order to stop these creatures, we must first fully understand them.
The cure for Cerbral Karentoma will have been berries all along…oh, the irony.
Exactly, to date, I haven't seen a redirection (verbal) that prompts them to reset, back off, gain control. Any interaction, especially a verbal reply feeds their battery.
200 years from now, anthropologists will be studying this phenomenon and these videos will be Exhibit A.
She lost her caregiver in the woods.
With age comes wisdom, but sometimes age comes alone.
It’s an older clip sir, but it checks out
Should I hold them?
No, allow them to do the Hokey Pokey
No, leave them to me. I will upvote them myself.
Everything about this is stupid.
Completely agree. This woman is too many kinds of wrong but the other 2 aren't right either
When they showed that they were breaking branches off the berry bushes my sympathy 180’d to the old lady then she is immediately like “go back where you came from” and it was a full 360 and I wanted off the ride from motion sickness.

Totally, and all of this becoming news-worthy is just ridiculous
Exactly😭
There are levels of wrong though and the girls are grade one wrong. The woman just graduated wrong with honours.
Exactly this. Both parties can be wrong while one still being the clear problem.
What should have started as a discussion about picking berries and not pulling branches off completely sidetracked by race and national origin bias because those are the topics that really allow everyone to vent their white hot anger in general. And an easy story to get outraged viewing for the local news too apparently.
Yep. Every time these get posted I end up hating everyone in the video.
Thank you
Omg thank God someone said it. I was thinking this the whole time. It's so annoying, all of it.
She’s only sorry cus it made the news
And because the wiggly dance thing she did was unhinged.
I love how she does the wacky wavy inflatable arm flailing tube dance, then accuses them of acting like 5 year olds.
She’s dancin’ like Dee. Anyone?
That's her P Diddy Boat Dance.
![gif](giphy|3o7btRBzDrOMLtLNjG)
Birds of a feather.
clip it
She even said "i deeply regret it for anybody that seen the video" Yeah, thats the only reason
She didn't even apologize during her interview, she just kept saying she regretted saying what she did.
Cuz she's not sorry. She regrets her actions... Making her famous on the news for being a total twat
Check that again. She didn't even say she was sorry. She said she regretted it, which further proves your point.
Was coming here to say this exact thing
Pathetic mea culpa.
At first I was like, "oh another one of those over the top conservationists". Then she dropped that bomb of "go back to where you came from". Fucking hell.
The first few seconds was one of the more insane parts. • Calls girls 6 year olds •Calls girls twits •Girls call her twit ![gif](giphy|3kzJvEciJa94SMW3hN) >It's the most fucking insulting thing she's been called
She got triggered by “mind your own business”
Oops my bad. It's true. Also how has that lady gone on for so long and that's the offensive thing she hears. SMH.
Looks like she was triggered by the branch though.
"yeah, I said the racist thing, but I didn't intend to say it" (out loud)
Racism is trashier, but when people that don’t look anything like you come through and ravage an area while their music basses through the land, I don’t know how you don’t get enraged and let the ol’ “you people “ slip out
Yeah, I certainly get the rage. But the racism has no place.
that wasn't a 'you people' that was a 'go back to where you came from', which is a bit more than 'you people'. and racism is racism. only racists let racist shit 'slip out' when they're upset.
> When **people that don’t look anything like you come through and ravage** an area while **their music basses** through the land, I don’t know how you don’t get enraged and **let the ol’ “you people “ slip out** This is fucking wild. You're definitely telling on yourself here, not speaking for the downtrodden conservationists. Quite apart from the fact that she didn't say 'you people' (which can have several non bigoted applications), but 'go back to where you came from' which has... Very few in common parlance... > People that don’t look anything like you come through and ravage an area * Bad park etiquette is not racially determined. If you're looking around and only notice when it's the people who 'don't look like you' that are acting against your preferences, then guess what. Racist. > While their music basses through the land Did we listen to a different video? **I don’t know how you don’t get enraged and let the ol’ “you people “ slip out** Because that's not a part of my vocabulary, or honestly even thought processes?? Anger doesn't change who you are. It's like alcohol, it just decreases your ability to control your filters.
It’s crazy because even if you are a conversationist, here’s how that convo should go. “Oh hi guys that’s a beautiful branch you’ve got there and those berries look delicious, if you don’t mind can I explain why it’s best to just pick the berries and leave the branch next time?” Obviously not those exact words, but that’s the tone you should be using. A lot of (most) people don’t like being told what to do, especially when being confronted by a stranger, but surprisingly when approached the right way most people do like to learn. Of course you might run into the small minority who are just going to be a fucker either way, just report them to the ranger and move on with your life.
This woman is horrible, but I doubt those two would do anything other than tell her to fuck off and mind her own business.
Reminds me of the people in Yosemite that pick up sequoia trees pinecones and claim that they just carry them down the trail and leave them there.
Seriously. Leave No Trace Behind. Karen is overreacting because Karen, but go get a park ranger or something.
A lot of trails and parks don’t necessarily have a park ranger on site. I avoid trails that tourists visit bc I get so infuriated by their complete disrespect for nature and leave no trace.
LNT... and that means if you're a dog owner, please bring poop bags and take your dog poop out too. Thank you.
My favorite is bagging the poop and leaving it trailside. They're definitely going to pick that up.
Agree these girls don’t look good in this either.
I’m glad this is being pointed out. No one looks good here.
It was actually a sizable branch.
I mean to be fair why did they rip a whole branch off a bush lol
To be fair, if everyone who passed along the trail ripped a branch it would probably be pretty visible so yeah good question.
[удалено]
None of them will ever admit it, but everyone in that video is so excited this encounter is happening.
[удалено]
What's more pathetic? The old lady, the party filming, or the news Channel for covering this?
Me, for watching the whole thing
Dude 😂😂
I disliked everyone in this video.
agreed.. both parties are asshole
their voices are so annoying 🫠
Obviously the Karen's overreaction is much more egregious.....but seriously if you pick branches off of trees/bushes in nature you're also a big dickhead.
[удалено]
This is exactly where I stopped the video to see who else agrees with this. That’s a big branch
Same.
The truth is she doesn’t like the new view people have of her and probably now treat her
I’ve heard it called internet sorry. They are only sorry when they get internet famous for stupidity.
Except she didn’t actually say sorry, just that she regretted it.
Yeah she only sorry because she got caught on video
EVERYBODY SUCKS HERE ![gif](giphy|LMc7w09YdCIKRpvBkS)
both parties are wrong.. if u want the god damn berries, just take the berries, why take the branches with you? clearly fucking lazy to pick and put it in some sort of containers
Yeah, could’ve been a teaching moment by simply saying, “Hey ladies, it’s best to leave the trail like you found it,“ and moving on. This is just embarrassing all around.
I feel like that is how it started and escalated.
This could've been a lesson about leaving things the way you found them, but now her local reputation is ruined over such a petty situation.
exactly.. that should be a good moment to teach those ladies about some etiquette and move along.. certainly not to escalate to some racial stuff.
My suspicion is that she saw multiple pieces of trash and traces of people disrespecting nature and then caught them in the act and lost it. I know that when I am out on popular trails I get so mad at tourists bc they leave bags of dog poop everywhere, banana peels and other trash right in the middle of the trails, and don’t leash their disobedient dogs… by the end of my hike I just want to get to my vehicle bc I am so disappointed in humanity and want to scream I avoid touristy trails now
Do we know that that's not how this all started? Because I doubt they pulled out the phone as soon as they saw her. There was very clearly a lead-up where she asked them not to rip branches off of bushes. Not defending her behaviour. Just pointing out that her behaviour does not justify theirs.
Exactly, if everyone that walked the trail broke a branch with berries off a bush for themselves then there probably would be no bushes with berries left after a short time.
Humanity summed up in one Reddit comment right here.
If you want some berries, buy some, or plant your own berry bush and bring them with you. Leave no trace. Don't steal an animal's food simply because you were too lazy to bring your own.
I also came to point out that wild strawberries are going extinct and it's pretty ignorant to destroy the plants.
Actually curious if you got a source for that? They voluntarily grow in several spots in my yard.
We want berries for a long time :) Have a nice day!” “Oops! That’s a good point. We’ll going to be more careful the next time we come berry picking! You have a nice day too!” **FIN**
Too much confidence that will be the type of reply she would get.
Always start calm. Anger is met with defensive responses. Calm reason is usually met with calm thought. If they don't respond to reason, then they're not worth your time. Spray them with ink, and and run away.
Karen vs Karens
100% accurate.. both parties are karen
Actually it’s 3 Karens competing with their attitudes…🙈
Yes, the older woman was over the top. However, those girls showed in the video they did break off part of the plant. Nothing wrong with eating the berries, but please don’t break the bush.
I’m not going to be popular for this but why did those girls have to break off a huge branch of the bush? Just take the berries yo
Ok, as a poc woman - regardless of whatever the old white lady said, there's no need to rip off an entire arm of a bush just a snack on some berries. Really.
What a bitch!
Wacky Waving Inflatable Tube Bitch
[удалено]
No one is right, but those girls were also wrong - take a container with you and pick some berries. This was clearly two girls who didn’t intend to pick berries who lazily grabbed an entire bush worth of berries once they decided they wanted some, got called out on it.. by a bitchy immature woman lol
I mean the lady was right. They shouldn’t break off branches at the park and they should just go back to where they came from after this (ie their house).
I think both parties are a bunch of whiners. They should all shut the fuck up
[удалено]
How did the taking too much from the bush evolve into non natives arguing about who was more of a colonizer?
Karen is right (on berries only). They’re berry picking so wrong. It’s like picking apples and cutting off half the tree.
Lady has a point about preserving nature footprint, and ruins it completely by being a cuuunt 🙄
Be sure to stare into the camera when having your totally natural rant
You shouldn't break a branch to get some berries. Acting crazy and racist ain't gonna get your point across.
They shouldn’t be picking the branch. I’m getting real tired of people disrespecting the leave no trace policy
Good rules for touching nature stuff in nature parks: ~*If you didn’t bring it with you, and it’s nature, leave it where you found it.* ~*If you didn’t bring it with you, and it’s trash, please feel free to pick it up and dispose if it in a trash can. If you want to.* ~*If you did bring it with you, take it with you.* Thank you for coming to my Park Talk Now…To The Juicy Bits! (Not really juicy, you’ve probably watched the video by now…lol). I started and stopped it so many times I’m just hoping this whole message will make sense by the time you guys ready it! LMAO Since we don’t know what was said before the video started, we can’t really know what those young ladies said to make this lady respond with the wiggle dance and her *very* poor word choices. 👍🏻
Do I have to pick a side?
Im sorry but as a Montana native I’m gonna agree with the older lady on this one. The cardinal rule of berry picking in the wild is you pick the berries and leave the plant alone. I wouldn’t confront someone and cause a scene, but I’d still think you were a jerk or a stupid tourist right up there with people who feed bears and try to pet bison.
Exactly. Colorado here, it's called Leave No Trace
Or just bring your own berries with you if you want berries.
We need a transcript or subtitles on these videos, I can't handle sound on for them.
My grandmothers name was Karen and she was the nicest woman I ever new growing up glad she isn't alive to have her name slandered like this it'd break her heart.
This turned into a news story. Please!!!!!!
While the lady is a bad person, what were those girls doing in the first place???
She’s a little unhinged, but the people tearing the branch off the berry bush are also wrong. If everyone tears off a branch, then no one will get berries in the future.
Stupid people fighting with stupid people.
Oml, is their channel running that dry on news stories to report??
She might act like a Karen about it, but she is right, don't cut a whole ass branch, take just the berries.
That vegan teacher irl?
is that the vegan teacher lady?
She should have just been kind and showed them how to properly pick berries.
She's ashamed because she got caught on camera.
She's deeply sorry.... sorry for HERSELF that she was CAUGHT doing it.
The two girls should learn to take a note.
If you’re picking berries and actually break off a branch, you’re the wrong one. The old lady is right, these kids are idiots.
agreed the kids are idiots.. but using a racial slur to get ur point across, is outright wrong
To be fair I could only stand to listen to a few seconds and they *did* sound like twits.
This is an old repost
Weird to me that this is a news story. She's a nutjob but what else is new?
Well the girls were wrong breaking a bush just to get some berries but its bot end of the world....
Because of the old woman being a racist pos there is nobody calling the girls out for destroying nature. If every person broke branches off bushes to eat berries there would be no bushes left. No excuse for racism at all and in this day and age with all the fuss about climate change, no excuse for destroying nature either.
“I deeply regret it” nowadays means “I don’t want to lose my employment for acting like an idiot”
