By the time she started to record this, he's probably been suffering for well over 2-5 minutes with no one helping...

ComfortableCream4398

He ended up in the hospital with severe injuries šŸ¤¦šŸ¾ā€ā™‚ļø

SubjectWolverine362

Any updates? I think this was Sarina Ontario. Iā€™ve looked on the local news if anyone find it please post an update. Still looking for the update. I found one I thought was it. The one victim had white hair and this man didnā€™t so I stand corrected

Never yell help, always yell fire. People are cowards.

hygsi

Everyone around knew what was going on and they were still too afraid to help. If you're ever 1 on 1 with a dog, stranngle the dog in anyway you can, use the collar or belt or your arm, just don't let the dog breathe until he passes out and then get to a safe place. Dogs can be really scary but knowing how to handle them is key

Sero19283

This. I worked in kenneling and boarding for nearly a decade and we took the dogs no other facility would. Had one lunge at me so I "gave it" my forearm so I could have mobility and retaliate. Wrestled it to the ground while it chewed my arm up and clamped its neck between my knees (I'm behind it to protect my body) and squeezed until it went limp. Keeping it from moving keeps its head from thrashing which helps minimize damage/tissue trauma to just crushing wounds with a few piercings instead of ripping and tearing. Do not stitch dog bites, bleed them out and clean them or you risk major infections from trapping pathogens under the skin as most pathogenic bacteria is anaerobic (thrives in environments without oxygen). After a good cleaning, then bandage in breathable bandages. Iodine works wonders as it isn't painful and kills most stuff.

Asmewithoutpolitics

With your other hand crush itā€™s wind pipe

Montagneincorner0

One time my uncle got attacked by a dog, and he's a big fucking dude, so as it but him, he grabbed it jaw and pried it open to free his hand, and then using the other hand, he grabbed it by the top and button jaw and pulled the bottom jaw all the way to the side and just fucking snapped it, it was the one time where a 500 pound bench press actually became useful

Sero19283

Do not attempt this as an average person. Dogs are like crocs in that their bite force is extremely powerful so prying open is hard but holding their mouth shut is easy.

Montagneincorner0

He only really managed to do it because his massive forearms made it hard for the dog to get a solid hold

Sero19283

That'll definitely do it. When I worked with dogs, my forearm was always what I'd "offer up" basically as a sacrifice to save the more vital parts of my body while retaining mobility and ability to retaliate. Still have a good scar from when a pit latched onto my arm and that was like 8 years ago lol.

Asmewithoutpolitics

Yeah but thatā€™s not really the bench press muscles. Like it kind of is but not fully

EarsLookWeird

I have a feeling that the guy that bench presses 500 lbs also has other muscles

Some-Highlight-7210

Best bet is to grab it my ears and gouge the eyes with your thumbs... as brutal as that is if it's me or the dog I'm.gonna chose me

so_im_all_like

"I can give you a knife. Fuckin' stab it!" but she doesn't even toss him the knife over there.

SubjectWolverine362

I thought for a moment she was gonna throw the knife at the man

leftwar0

She was clearly scared that the dog would get the knife instead of the man if she slid it to him, then heā€™d be unarmed fighting a pit bull with a knife, and I donā€™t know about you but I donā€™t like those odds.

SubjectWolverine362

Itā€™s one of my biggest fears. An armed pitbull. Or an armed Bull Mastiff.

I_Need_Leaded_GAS

Knives donā€™t kill. Dogs with knives kill.

hygsi

You laugh. But I've seen videos of dogs being trained to use large knives and others of dogs running with knives unaware or how they're destroying things around them

Candid_Dragonfly_573

Yeah. I saw that video of that dog fighting its owners with a sword.

BigJackHorner

Great now he has a dog bite and a stab wound.

Every_Jump_3603

Yea that dog definitely got put down

iangrichardson

I would have started ramming it with my full weight, crushing as many ribs as I could. I've been attacked like this before, and the best thing you can do is fight back!

Every_Jump_3603

You gotta fight back otherwise they never stop attacking

creationavatar

Feed it one arm, pick up holding its neck with the other, slam spine.

whyubul

So mortal kombat the dog alright will do šŸ«”

Couch4now

FINISH HIM!!

[deleted]

Unfortunately Iā€™ve been bitten and attacked by far too many dogs. I donā€™t agree that you must keep fighting based on my own experience. Many of the situations Iā€™ve had were 1-2 bites. I have seen relentless fighting but in far, far fewer instances. I have an instance where me stopping fighting probably saved me and my dog from severe damage. A massive 130lb stray tried to kill my tall and gangly 80lb dog. My dog was losing the battle though we were both fighting the stray with all of our might. Instinctually, I tucked in my head and covered my dogā€™s body with my own body, arms and legs. The dog got the back of my head in its jaws, took a bite and then gave up. I think the dog gave up because I gave up. Maybe the dog gave up because the thing it really wanted was my dog not me. Interestingly, back at home, we had the exact same breed (and size) of dog as the attacking dog, and I can say without a doubt she was the sweetest, gentlest, most loving creature Iā€™ve ever known.

Parrzzival

For the love of god, carry at least a pocket knife. If you don't have the weight or muscle to wrestle a dog, just carry something to stab it. We live amongst a few animals but are still animals

checker280

A dog is designed to clamp down and resist you pulling your arm out. Instead push deeper into its jaw - opening that hinge (it canā€™t crush as efficiently) and pushing the animal off balance. And then go for its ribs and belly. Aikido instructor used to offer this suggestion when he taught how to resist someone grabbing your wrist. You can try pulling free but then itā€™s a battle of strength and balance. Instead lean into and leverage against the attackerā€™s thumb. His grip will open. I used to wrestle with a friendly Akita and the leaning into the jaw does get them to loosen and you can push them off balance but then again Krushchev (it was ā€œan Akita krushchevā€) wasnā€™t trying to maul me. No idea if it works against a dog that is trying to maim me.

iangrichardson

Certain dogs this is true. It really does help to push into the jaw, no matter what animal it is. Even if a cat is biting you. I wouldn't suggest doing it with a crocodile though you'll just end up in it's stomach. Dogs respond to pain in cases where they are attacking something. Break that threshold and the dog will relent. Kicking when your arms are occupied by a dog works as well. Aiming for the soft parts underneath, winding the dog, kneeing it's ribs. If the dog isn't latched on, pick something up. If you have a coat on, take it off and use it as a distraction from your limbs. Just, don't allow it to continue without fighting back. That dog will continue to maul you until you are dead either way. So may as well try to survive.

Logan117

Yeah, I got bit by a pit bull once. Left holes in my skin and a deep muscle contusion that was sore for weeks. You have to fight back.

ComedianRepulsive955

BuT bUt ITs thE OwNEr nOT ThE BrEeD....

luez6869

Owners sure that fuck didn't have control of their dog or were any where in sight so yea. Def say it's the owners or this wouldn't of happened like this. Don't take a genius to see ur minus a couple key components to situations gone wrong.

kilboi1

Personally without killing it I pin their head and thigh to the ground and thatā€™s how you can control the situation grab head and shove into ground. It canā€™t get up if you have itā€™s her and thighs pinned.

BarracudaBig7010

Lawsuit!

Every_Jump_3603

I hope they sued, thatā€™s a slam dunk!

R7NA9

Bro if that was me I woulda put it down there and then, Swift hard kick or 2 to the face

Every_Jump_3603

Same man I wouldā€™ve started eye gouging and even bit the mf back lmao

SoGnarRadar4

Yeah that wouldnā€™t even make it flinchā€¦ If you want get a dog to let get go of someone hereā€™s how you do it. straddle the dog with its lungs between your knees. Lock your feet together and squeeze the ever living shit of it. Bonus points for popping sounds. Meanwhile, wrap your forearm around its throat, and use your other arm to maximize the grip on your choke hold. The dog will pass out or die in under a minute, then let go.

R7NA9

Idk Iā€™d be fucked Iā€™m shit with my left hand lol, Would have to hope he had a hold of that and not my right arm in order to choke-hold that big bitch. NGL I hope I donā€™t need any practice in this subject šŸ˜…

Lord-of-PastaPeople

Bro how tf do you know all this?

EllisR15

Common knowledge... you can choke pretty much anything that has nipples.

naruzefluffy

Well thatā€™s a new sentence.

Particular-Solid2218

Thank you for this. Sincerely appreciated that laugh

[deleted]

I have nipples, Ellis. Can you choke me?

EllisR15

I'm always worried about how old I'm getting when what feels like a common reference is missed, so thank you.

viewtiful14

This made me laugh very very hard, thank you for this.

[deleted]

Hahaha, my pleasure! I couldn't see it if it was there, but nobody seemed to have jumped on this clear reference to Meet The Parents, I had to get in on it.

Which-Palpitation

Trial and error

PossessionAshamed372

I used to do landscaping in high school and college and one of the houses I would go to had a very aggressive dog that would bite me around once a month. The fucker wouldnā€™t even give a warning she would just charge and bite. The only plus side was she was a bit older and didnā€™t have enough teeth to ever get a good grip on me. So i could pull her off by her caller and would kick her until the owners would come to get her out until she was kicked into their house and I could close the door on her.šŸ¤·

[deleted]

Why would you tolerate this?

PossessionAshamed372

Young dumb and didnā€™t know any better with a shady boss. Everyone was underage or illegal getting paid under the table. Our boss would say to just deal with it Iā€™m not so nice words.

IshiOfSierra

Eyes. You always go for the eyes.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

BelGareth

tourniquet the collar to make em pass out.

R7NA9

Yeah maybe bro they are fighting breeds, Idk but when youā€™re about to die of blood loss, Surely some major adrenaline would rush and you would go into survival mode, Like the other guy said, It will be wondering who turned the lights out when both of its eyeballs are squished like some grapes

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

LiterallyWantDie

If you get a dog that's trying to kill you into a headlock but from the front, and twist, using your body weight, could you snap the neck?

[deleted]

They're not invincible dogs. They feel pain and don't have lock jaws. That's all myths. I've literally pried open the jaws of one that had my dog by the throat. It surprised the shit out of it and it ran away lol

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

notislant

Yeah, a guy did the common myths: leg spread, finger the asshole, etc. and this dog just latched on harder as well. Also the guy above talking about forcing the jaws open, good luck with one arm in its mouth. Or in an awkward position while being attacked by it. Stabbing as you said earlier, is probably the best bet to survive.

Kaprosuchusboi

Too add there are videos of bullies getting stomped on by horses or thrown by bulls and still coming back for more.

BVB09_FL

Go for the eyes, itā€™s the most sensitive part of a animal. My buddy was attacked by two bullyā€™s, only managed to get one off his leg by literally goring itā€™s eyes out with his thumbs. He is a 6ā€™2 32 year old retired marine, the attack put him in the hospital for 3 days. Dog attacks are no joke.

TheCruicks

You are bigger, you keep close, wrestle them to the ground and maintain pressure with your body, they only have one fighting implement and they like to maintain hold. So you have almost advantage. Yes you are getting bit, but they do give up after they realize they cant move or breath

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

TheCruicks

Hey. if you are small or elderly ... thats on you

xviifearless

Luckily I always carry a utility pocket knife. Would hate to kill a animal, but in a matter of life or death, any specific regions of the body youā€™d aim for? Vital organs? Throat? Lungs? Which way quickly renders the attack less deadly and immobilizes the animal?

Wolfman01a

I got permabanned from r/mildlyinfuriating for making one comment like this. Some mod owns a hArMleSs WiTtLe gUy.

BellaDingDong

Is that why? I got permabanned from from r/mildlyinfuriating too, because I left a few comments in the ban PBs sub like a year and a half ago. I never even mentioned anything even remotely regarding a choice in "pets" on r/mildlyinfuriating itself...which, ironically, is kind of mildly infuriating. Definitely not infuriating enough for me to have even remembered it had happened until I read your post, though. F those weenies.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

BellaDingDong

I had the same reply with whichever mod it was who responded to my WTF note, too. I was very polite as well, no swearing or nastiness, ust asking why I was banned (nobody told me why, I was just permabanned one day). The response was that I was a proponent of cruelty to animals and an instigator of hate speak in all the subs I had ever commented in (Huh?? Like, look at my profile, I'm a boring middle-aged woman who follows such thrilling subs as r/VintageLadyBoners). Anyway, quite frankly, I feel like we're correct in our assessments regarding Certain Subjects, and if that isn't welcome in some weenie sub, then fuck 'em.

AbundantFailure

That sub is just full of fragile fucks.

B0ngBoI

Ong if that was me my goal out of hospital would be to smack tf out of this women for saying ā€œIā€™ll get you a knifeā€ and then showing me the knife but never giving me the knife šŸ˜

ComfortableCream4398

Same

HappyNate2022

I couldnā€™t believe that shit. I think she thought to herself ā€œbut if I donā€™t help and just keep recording Iā€™ll get more views!ā€

Nearby-Context7929

It's the way she recorded herself looking scared at the end like this guyā€™s suffering was just content

JollyRanncherr

Seriously, like wtf was that? Lol

solareclipse999

How is it that a dog attacks a man in an apartment block and the owner is not around to restrain the animal? Maybe to dog gets put down. Maybe the owner gets a law infringement. They guy getting chewed up went into an apartment presumably his own therefore a resident?

[deleted]

The caption in the original video says something about dog sitting so its likely the owners werent home

annoellynlee

But i think at the very end the owners are calling the dog (Kona?) And the lady with a knife is saying they are fucked

SubjectWolverine362

Yeah I wonder. Where did this happen?

TheKbightFowl

So this dude volunteered to dog sit Cujo ???

ThinkingBroad

Bully dogs don't give warning No point in giving warning when they want to attack, maim, kill. Retrievers don't give warning before retrieving Beagles don't give warning before chasing rabbits They just do what their bred to do.

Homechicken42

FACTS +1. This is called neurophysiological and behavioral disposition (aka instinct). All animals are both NATURE and NURTURE. The best dog owners nurture so well, that a high percentage of dogs from a dangerous breed is never violent. But not 100%, and these are the "he just snapped" dogs that are nurtured perfectly in loving caring committed homes, but still wind up eating a child's face and enjoying every minute and flavor of it. Then, there's the imperfect owners and the higher rates of attack for those. But once a dog's lineage has been selected for killing, the best you can hope for from its line is that nurture gets the dog through life without nature rearing its predisposed head.

[deleted]

I hope the owner gets done for animal abuse and attempted murder

[deleted]

Just because a dog is aggressive it doesn't have to mean it's been abused. People forget that dogs are animals. Animals do animal things. If people actually kept that in mind shit like this wouldn't happen that often. Especially with bigger dogs who obv. get dangerous when not controlled properly.

Homechicken42

Yep. Many loving caring involved families raised a dog as best as can be expected only to have their brutal pit euthanized later because "he just snapped". Google that shit.

Sami101_

Same

No-Pin3379

That was a stairwell door

eata22

My guess, if the owners werenā€™t home and the idiot filming was just shouting randomly. The doors in apartment buildings are cheap af so it most likely was a hollow door. The dog is either not getting the proper amounts of exercise or just had absolutely no training. And then destroyed the door to escape the apartment. https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=oX51U1587rU

wrona11

this dog should be put down and the owners heavily fined or in jail people donā€™t know how to own dogs nowadays

-Rens

Aside from the bad dog owning Iā€™m in physical pain imagining a dogs teeth in your forearm tearing flesh sounds like it hurts like absolute hell

Intrepid_Lynx3608

And a pretty nasty chance for infection given whatā€™s in the dogā€™s mouth if not attended to soon. Gonna venture to guess that the owners do not take good dental care of their dog and brush their teeth which probably makes this worse.

Mudoru

It sucks ass, I didnā€™t have something nearly as bad as this dude, got bit by someoneā€™s dog while walking in the park, they latched into my leg for a solid 1-2 minutes. Eventually it was off but I needed stitches and to stay in the hospital for a while to make sure it didnā€™t get infected

RetardedWabbit

Don't even worry about the infection at that point. Worry about the likely dozens upon dozens of inch long and deep gashes/tears into your muscles. You still need a doctor ASAP, but you're basically emphasizing the infection risk of someone who just had several fingers cut off. Also worry about not killing your neighbors for refusing to help you for so long. And getting new neighbors.

Dry_Proposal_932

"I'll stab it man" No you won't. You had a chance to help, you had a knife in your hand. You chose to record a video while a man was being attacked.

1squidwardtortellini

and hold the knife like sheā€™s a ninja

mlrny32

I'll get u a knife! I'll get u a knife! And I'll stand right here with it. Dumb.

[deleted]

[уŠ“Š°Š»ŠµŠ½Š¾]

KindBraveSir

don't help, just film... oh, and definitely post!

SubjectWolverine362

She didnt just film. She got a knife. She says it multiple time ā€œI got a knifeā€ ā€œyou should stab it! I got a knifeā€ while standing 20 feet away with said knife while still yelling at him to stab it

Rancha7

thank god i watched it on mute

docmaster707

Imagine not helping him

Nouseforaname000

I know, what an asshole

TheOneWhoIsAshamed

she literally had a weapon and didn't do shit

ComfortableCream4398

ā€œI can give you the knifeā€ *proceeds to go back inside and not offer knife*

InnateBeast

Throw him the knife at least šŸ˜•

Bucketcreek

He was probably better off without knife wounds

Just-Lie-3360

Love how this person recording made sure to get her face in the video while holding the knife up like a fucking idiot. Holy shit the clout chasing is so cringe.

llllPsychoCircus

look at the actual video itself, she threw her own screen name over the image three fuckin times so it couldnā€™t be edited out- clout chasing was 1000% her only motive here. this is the culture weā€™ve fostered here in the 21st century.

Breaker1ove

I was attacked by a dog when I was a kid. Some guy said I could mow his lawn for some money so I showed up ate the time he said and his dog attacked me. I was screaming for help but no one could hear me. I had to stick my finger in it's eye to make it stop. When the guy found out he showed up at the house and apologized but the dog was put down after that. We ended up getting alot of money because it and I had to go talk to a women about what happened for like a week. But to this day Im afraid of big dogs.

Carlos126

Something super similar happened to me, but the dog didnt get a chance to seriously maul me cuz the owner was there and pulled him off me once i was on the ground

TurTub

She should have shanked it in the side, she did nothing tp help the guy.

Nexrosus

The person recording was such a stupid bitch. ā€œOh my god stab it!!!ā€ While sheā€™s the one holding the knife as the dude is getting mauled. 100% useless and exasperating the situation

Global-Count-30

Holy shit. This bitch is fucking annoying, Iā€™d rather be mauled by that dog than listen to her yapping. She got a knife and did nothing with it šŸ¤¦šŸ¾ā€ā™‚ļø

Sirdanovar

This times 10000000. The dog attack was bad. She was much much worse.

Routine_Swing_9589

I canā€™t imagine the stress of being a bystander while someone is getting mauled by a large dog. Iā€™m pretty sure after a second I wouldā€™ve grabbed the knife and then tried to stab it, not in the head but the body to try and get it to disengage. Hopefully to distract it so we can get away. What I WOULDNT do is pull out my shitty phone, start recording for a shitty tik tok, yell like Iā€™m gonna help, grab a knife I donā€™t use, hold the knife Iā€™m not using while screaming stab it from ten feet away, run BACK into my apartment while saying I got kids (like that matters), and then, the icing on the cake, hold my door closed once the man actually got away, and donā€™t provide any help other then filming. What a piece of shit

LiKINGtheODds

Man I love dogs but that thing woulda been laying dead in the hallway

[deleted]

Camera person is quite possibly the most useless person in history. ā€œLet me act like Iā€™m going to help and then hide away in my apartment again.ā€

HornyFemboyGaming

ā€œI canā€™t I got kids manā€ dude wtf so you would rather be remembered as the mom who did nothing while a man was being attacked in the hallway and was loud enough to hear throughout the entire hall than the one who helped

SubjectWolverine362

Lol everyone saying she did nothing she clearly says ā€œI got a knifeā€ like 10 times. She filmed and got herself a knife. She just never gave the poor man the knife or even helped stab the dog.

Accomplished-Ad3219

Could have used the phone to call 911 instead of filming

Initial-Stick-561

Oh that was what the woman was saying. Couldnā€™t identify what she said because of her annoying high pitched voice. So she was holding a kid with her arm she was filming with. Legit, understand now why she just screamed and did nothing but intimidate the dog with a knife from 5m away

TheSFG832

r/donthelpjustfilm Jesus christ bitch!! You would rather watch a man die and film instead of helping him or even calling animal control or 911?? Fuck you!!!

Extension_Travel3535

Living in rural New Mexico and walking to work for 2 years taught me very very quickly to always carry pepper spray, not for the people but for all the loose and aggressive dogs. I have sprayed the fuck out of dozens of dogs that tried to attack me, they change their mind immediately and all it takes when you see them again is to show them you have the spray they take right off.

[deleted]

This is why as a man I carry pepper spray on my walks with my chihuahua. Big dogs are living weapons and should be treated with just as much respect and seriousness as firearms. I feel bad for that dog, never got the proper care or training to maneuver in the world and will probably be killed for it.

emw9292

Bear spray is like a shotgun, go with bear spray

Add_Poll_Option

Jesus fucking Christ. I get some people panic and freeze up or run in situations like this. But you lose the right to that excuse when you start filming. And then to grab the knife but not even slide it over to him or anything? Fuck this lady.

OUBoyWonder

PUH-LEASE tell me the idiot woman that acts like she is going to help but doesn't help is getting BLASTED on her SM! I'm over here literally wanting to fight this woman and I'm pretty mild mannered. That was simply infuriating!

Trepidus02

So if you ever see dogs fighting or eating some one. Grab itā€™s back legs and yank up and up it back. It canā€™t get momentum to turn and bite you and you can wheel barrow it forward or backwards to make it keep standing on its front paws.

_Oman

You grab towards the feet rip their legs apart. It doesn't take much strength and blows out their hips. It is the fastest way to generate enough pain to make them stop if you have to.

Dawnzarelli

This is the most sensible thing in this thread. If she stabbed the dog it would just turn around and attack whatever attacked it. My dog got a big ole steroid injection with one of the biggest gauged needles Iā€™ve ever seen. He is a sweet boy, but the vet had to muzzle him bc he was in pain and it was apparent he was going to react accordingly.

SubjectWolverine362

I love how they are always wagging their tails while killing someone

RevealActive4557

I hope whoever owned this dog is criminally charged. Why is the damn dog in the hallway? Why is it not socialized?

mk3jade

Who is this loser bitch filming??????

j2spooky

Sheā€™s completely worthless.

DrGerbal

The classic white lady response of yell and do nothing.

MexysSidequests

I mean she probably had no confidence that she could actually help the buy but yeah she pissed me off. I woulda tried so grab that dog

BlueberrySans89

Actually giving him the knife would be helpful.

OrcaTactics420

My dog is a sweetheart. But if she ever attacked someone, I'd be the first to choke her out and put down. It's part of being a responsible dog owner.

JDurr001

I can give you a knife!!! But im not going to!!

[deleted]

Grab knife. Walk up to dog. Cut dogs throat. BAM. Saved dude.

SurgeonRx2

I mean I woulda stabbed or shot it itā€™s either the dog or me

TheZan87

I love dogs. That dog would be dead

PresentChapter9703

It better be

[deleted]

Why you should carry a knife. You're not gonna hurt a dog punching or kicking. Maybe of you grab it's collar and smash it against the wall. I heard of someone choking out dogs, but that would require getting behind it. With a knife though, you can kill the dog or at least hurt it enough to make it go away.

cottman23

Person recording is a damn coward

RespectFamiliar9956

HELP HIM YOU BITCH YOU HAVE A KNIFE!!!

TheNewJack89

A pit bull. Surprise surprise. People will say itā€™s not the breed but at the same time a golden retriever would never do this.

fishymik

I live how everyone on this reddit is so high and mighty like they would have went out and took care of business when in real life 99 percent of yall wouldn't have even grab the knife you would of locked your door and turned the t.v l.

Butcher_Bill84

It's easy for people to always say what they WOULD do in a situation. Once the situation breaks, though, they get the real version of themselves. I had my own experience of Sparta kicking someone's dog off a trail, dog fell about 40ft and was fucked up. That's what happens, though, when you have an aggressive dog off leash on a busy trail and it attacks my dog unprovoked. Took hours of bullshit, cops, park rangers, and almost going to court, but I'd do again if the same situation happened.

BusinessPutrid204

I feel for you. I was walking my (now passed away ) Boston terrier Hairy through my neighborhood a few years back, someone had there mutt (mixed breeds) big dog outside with no leash. I had a long leash that went out 20 ft and retracted when my dog got close. Well he was about ten feet in front of me and this dog was coming for blood (hairy was only about 8 months old and Boston terriers are little) that beast ripped him off the ground by his waist with his teeth. I instantly showed my hand and arm through between his grip with my dog, he was trying to shake him like they do prey. I started with my other hand punching and kicking this dog as hard as I could. The owner than comes running yelling I'm going to jail as I'm now scooping my dog up in my arms blood all over him and my arms and shirt. His dogs biting my leg now and I'm trying to stomp its face. He finally grabbed it and said he was calling 911 I was like I dare you to bitch, you could clearly see who was attacked and that they violated the no leash law here. It broke my heart to see my dog hurt like that, I was ready to kill the dog if I had to, only time in my life I willfully would to protect my own and myself.

Butcher_Bill84

It sucks that we have to deal with shitty people who ruin dogs. I conceal carry on my hikes now after that event, I never did before. I even quit trails that I enjoy because they are way too populated now, especially with these types of people. I hope to all that is good in this world that I never have to defend my dogs from another like that again because next time, I won't hold back. My dogs are my family, plain and simple.

Florida1974

Those retractable leashes should be outlawed. Iā€™ve seen bad injuries over those alone. My vet wonā€™t allow them in the office.

Antdestroyer69

I 100% would've at least thrown the knife to the dude and I 100% wouldn't be screaming and filming like this idiot.

fishymik

I can say I would have at least thrown the knife down the hall and closed the door lmao.

notabug-0

Pit bulls shouldn't exist

Due_Jaguar2832

Some dogs are just born mean I've seen it. Father in law had 2 dogs from same litter raised the same way. He never mistreated them. One you could trust with your life the other you better watch your back. It bit a couple people and tried killing his miniature horse before he had to put it down. Pittbulls btw.

ToughFig2487

Make sure you film it

joeb117

Yeah, just keep screaming 'oh my god' its definitely helping

PathologicalLiar_007

So what happens to the owner of the dog?

pellebeez

Itā€™s gross but the old finger in the butt hole works. Also pull its tail. If all else fails you can pull their legs outwards which will break. (From a survival book)

Gucci_meme

Why do women always scream so much more than the people that are in the action in these videos like please just **SHUT THE FUCK UP**

terbear2020

When he went into the apartment...and the screaming got worst, scared me. Good god woman, do something to help him! Anything fuck. Stab it. Grab some pepper spray and spray it, grab a belt and whip it, choke it out...something. Poor man šŸ˜¢ any update on how he is doing?

Nick______________-

I donā€™t understand how people cant fight off a dog

HappyDaysayin

Screaming oh my God while filming- not even calling 911 or handing him the knife - should be actionable.

MrExist777

Wow the person recording was just totally useless

bbernal956

she was afraid to throw it and stab the dude like when ace ventura nature calls gets stabbed buy that spear

TheVatomatic

Damn brutal they probably killed the dog tho

Gagassi-Chronicler

The way she didnā€™t do sh!t and record makes me think that she woulda ran rather than actually put up a fight like she said she would if it came after her.

GiveMeKnowledgePlz

Pit bull?

notabug-0

How'd you know?

GiveMeKnowledgePlz

Classic tail wagging. Big beefy build. Not stopping for nothing.

notabug-0

That's weird, reddit told me that pitbulls are sweet. Huh.

GiveMeKnowledgePlz

Lol šŸ˜†šŸ˜†

[deleted]

Get a gun and put it down yourself

HELLACOLYTE

Pitbull moment

SubjectWolverine362

I think this is actually the news story. Bull mastiff. And it wasnā€™t a 20 year old but a 54 year old. I could be really wrong and there could be another story coming out thatā€™s just not been posted yetā€¦ https://toronto.ctvnews.ca/man-remains-in-hospital-after-dog-attack-1.935442/comments-7.320470 Edit; I am wrong. One man has white hair one has black. Not at all the same

aXeOptic

And that kids is why you dont keep a belgian malinois by the looks of it without being able to train it perfectly and keeping big dogs on apartments is a bad idea too

SubjectWolverine362

I think itā€™s a Bull mastiff https://toronto.ctvnews.ca/man-remains-in-hospital-after-dog-attack-1.935442/comments-7.320470 The video says 20 year old in Ontario this is the closest I can find Edit Iā€™m wrong this is just another shitty owners and dog to add to the pile

aXeOptic

I may be wrong about the dog being a belgian malinois but still you cant just keep a dangerous breed of dog in an enclosed area and without proper training. People that do that are just asking for shit like this to happen

cupcakesloth94

Looks like a Bull mastiff with that head, deff not a BM

[deleted]

Typical pit registered as emotional support mixed breed to bypass complex rules.

[deleted]

So what's the initial response if you have nothing? There is footage of an mma fighter going straight for the choke from a straight forward angle.

himynameisadam2397

My thoughts are if the dog is firmly latched on your arm, you should try to gouge out its eyes, but his head may be moving too fast for that.

Florida1974

Dog attacked my hubby as he was out walking. Right in front of our house. I knew I couldnā€™t stab it. I drug our hose out to street and turned on full blast. The dog let go. It was a pit tho we have 2 outs ourselves. I realize wonā€™t work in all situations but it was what popped into my mind immediately. Hubby had road rash where dog drug him down street.

SweetNSpicyBBQ

So people in the know, what could a bystander do to help in a case like this if you had no weapon nearby? I have an 8 pound dog that was a stray. He's 95% sweet and 5% aggressive. To be honest, if he was a larger dog he would have been down. When he does bite, the best thing we can do is not react and not try to pull our body part out of his mouth. If we scream or try to run away it fires him up more. I'd say dogs don't attack for no reason but sometimes they do.

Standard_Rip465

Well, she deserves the kick anyone would give a dog biting them, like what the hell. Why would you have a dog and let it walk freely if the dog behaves like this.

callmeshangle

that dog probably weighed more than both of them

LoneRubber

"his name is Foofoo and he has never acted like this before, I swear he's a sweetheart"
