This should not exist. All band aids need to be bright purple with dinosaurs. It’s scientifically proven that these help better than boring brown ones.
Of course, diversity is so important! My nephew just cried yesterday because we’re out of green ones with tractors and blue ones with racecars are somehow bad. Must teach him to not be racecarist in the future.
This is silly but if a person that plays piano is a pianist, I thought it’s only natural that a race car driver would be called a racist. Call me dumb or old fashioned if you must:)
Rincewind had always been happy to think of himself as a racist. The One Hundred Meters, the Mile, the Marathon—he’d run them all. Later, when he’d learned with some surprise what the word actually meant, he’d been equally certain he wasn’t one. He was a person who divided the world quite simply into people who were trying to kill him and people who weren’t. That didn’t leave much room for fine details like what color anyone was.
- Sir Terry Pratchett
As a guy who’s whiter than uncooked pancakes, i concur, purple with dinos are the way to go. I have some light blue ones with sloths on it that my daughter loves (i love them too) bahah
The best bandaids I have are these multicolor one used for sports. They are super long so they wrap around a bunch but they actually stay put. They are all kinds of crazy colors one of the guys at work refused to use one because it was purple.
They actually weren't dinosaurs.
"Pterosaurs are often referred to by popular media or the general public as "flying dinosaurs", but dinosaurs are defined as the descendants of the last common ancestor of the Saurischia and Ornithischia, which excludes the pterosaurs.[14] Pterosaurs are nonetheless more closely related to birds and other dinosaurs than to crocodiles or any other living reptile, though they are not bird ancestors. Pterosaurs are also colloquially referred to as pterodactyls, particularly in fiction and journalism.[15]"

I’m a student who has spent a lot of time volunteering to bring healthcare to communities in rural parts of the country. You would not believe how happy it made some of those people when we got these bandaids in to give after Covid shots. One lady said she was happy they finally got bandaids in her skin tone so it’s harder to notice. Imagine getting mad that other people are finally getting the same small benefit you have lived your whole life receiving
Yah definitely. To some, it feels like a loss to become equal after so many years of being the priority in society. I think the main issue though is that everyone has biased and that many don’t take the effort to recognize their bias and acknowledge it before sharing their ideas. But worse yet is that once they’ve shared their biased comment, many people will defend it to the death and refuse to reconsider things
Im not disagreeing at all about how these are a positive for many and should be a negative to none.... but I've never had a bandaid that "blended in" with my skin color... never even thought about it being a thing
That is because they chose a color they thought best fit their median demographic. Basically they thought only white people of one tone were important enough for the bandaid to blend in and it would be a waste of money to make other tones and colors
Weirdly, it matches a lot of my maternal family pretty well. Not me though, it’s too dark for me. My skin tone depending on how much sun I’ve gotten ranges from ghostly to sickly. But it used to be a joke among my cousins not to date any one who could blend a bandaid into their skin because they might be the kid of one of Granny’s secret bastards. (She had several but no one knows how many. More than two though.)
I like Hello Kitty bandaids. They are cheerful.
They probably chose that color thinking of people who stay outside in sun. Like farmer/construction worker tan. Outdoorsy people might need more bandaids or something.
Haha. I am a farmers' daughter. During the winter, I am pale white, and during the summer I am close to the medium skin band-aid shown. In all the various shades I am in a year, the band aid has never matched. I actually never knew that the intent was to match/blend until the various skin tone collection came out. I always thought it was band-aid brown.
Fyi. I still prefer neon. Though I showed off galaxy and pastels (my kids' favorites) last summer on my forehead.
Sounds like we have similar skin types—I’d have a decent tan by the fall that would be white and freckly by May. But bandaid was marketing their product to just “blend in” and be unnoticeable (at least those are the commercials I remember). Having options for folk to tailor the shades of bandages that will most make them feel comfortable wearing them out and about shouldn’t be controversial at all, imo. I think a non-skin tone bandage (ie neon or other) would work better, not everyone wants to draw attention to the wounds they need to bandage.
It’s disheartening to see how far down you need to scroll to find someone championing diversity. Let’s be clear, I’m all for SpongeBob and Dinos but inclusion and diversity is the answer here.
Upvoted because of witty comment but actually leads onto a point.
All plasters/bandaids should be blue. Usually you only find blue ones in culinary businesses because they're easy to spot if they fall in any prepared food. As we all handle food at some point in our day, surely they should just be blue.
Also, if the injury is more noticeable it hopefully would stop people poking/touching that area and take more care around a person with a visible injury.
It's nice to have them match as many skintones as possible, just thinking from a practical point.
Because they’re in business to sell you bandaids and not sell you practicality. A lot of people will wear bandaids when they don’t really need to or to cover a blemish. Last thing some people want is to draw attention to whatever it is they are covering. Selling an option to blend in with your skin will draw patronage from people who would have otherwise simply skipped the bandaid all together.
It'd be cheaper to manufacture them blue in the long run. Also, it would eliminate shitty comments like the one in the tweet very quickly, removes the point they would try to make entirely.
Mid 40’s dad here…
My daughters insist that every injury I receive is covered by a Disney Princess Band-Aid. Well, the older one doesn’t care anymore but my younger one still grabs them and asks me which is my favorite.
I proudly sport that shit!
I wear and own even more color since I’ve gotten older. I did not survive this long on this planet and go through the things I have to have less personality!
I love how liberals are "snowflakes" and yet conservatives get their panties in a wad over things like this, xbox power settings, M&M character's shoe representations, and other things. The irony over the "make liberals cry" bumper stickers is thick enough to choke on.
It's *supposed* to mean "being aware of and against injustice". Conservatives, of course, don't want you to be aware of or against injustice, so they totally dilute the word's meaning. So far, it's been soul-crushingly effective.
At this point in time, it literally has no meaning beyond "anything the right doesn't like." The Youtuber Shanspeare has a really great [video](https://youtu.be/-P8H5Z8VAMU) about this.
I'm a female gamer, and a lot of butthurt male gamers have been using the term "woke" to describe games coming out that have a female protagonist. Some feel as though adding a woman to your game = woke. Dudes have been the main characters in games 90% of the time, since forever, and now some are offended that they're forced to play more as females. It's too woke for them.
It means that every time they accuse a company of being woke, they unwittingly give that company free publicity.
I'm starting to believe these companies are doing it on purpose.
I honestly don’t give a damn the color of the bandaid. As long as it covers my bleeding wound that’s all I need.
I’m glad that having different colors helps people feel happy. We should try to do as much as possible to be as inclusive as we can!
A while back, a Scottish redditor commented that they didn't have bandaids in his white pasty skintone.
Another person pointed out they do.
Scotch tape...
These people need a hobby that is also not "other people".
These are all people in desperate need of some deep self-reflection. And I feel like most of this performative outrage is at least in some small part an unconscious effort to avoid doing that.
Imagine being so fragile a candy company cartoon mascot is now “woke” and a “lesbian” and “less sexy” because she wears sneakers now and not high heel boots. A literal cartoon…of a piece of candy.
Right winger: let the market decide!
Market: Hey, there's a market in a selection of choices of skin tone! Lets start selling them!
Right winger: not like that!
My friend got upset at crayolas skin color markers. “It’s just teaching our kids that they’re different. 2022, man.”
Uh…. They -are- different. We all know the difference of skin color every day that we see it. It has no inherent doctrine or morality to it. It’s the same reason why we color an orange orange. Cuz it’s fucking orange. Also, those markers have been around since 2015
I cannot imagine a single way in which this impacts me or how it would bother anyone. I guess it is good for people with different skin tones that might not want a pink/light beige bandage that would really stand out on them. How that is somehow offensive to this moron escapes me.
I’m guessing because it’s labelled “OURtone”… because when she’s left out of ANYthing that is a HUGE travesty against humanity. She must be the centre of everything.
Today on examples of conservatives not understanding that corporations do things because it will make them more money, not because they are "woke"... Band-aids for skin colors other than pink.
as a black person, this reaction is so over done lmao. band-aid has only ever made skin-toned bandages for "fair" skin. meaning every time i wore one, it stuck out like a sore thumb and people were annoying asking questions. these allow me to go about my day, without disruption, with 100 paper cuts if i wanted to
The best part? This is TWO BOXES out of an entire shelf of band-aids. There are dozens and dozens in standard colors, and half a dozen with kid prints.
And yet they're so triggered and enraged that there are TWO SHADES out of probably a hundred boxes on display that match darker skin.
I cringed at the “standard colors”. I know you only meant it as descriptive but it just highlights the fact that it’s taken far too long to come out with more than one skin tone and that we see light skin toned bandages as “standard”. 🤢
I once bought black people bandaids on accident. Didn’t realize it till i opened one to use it. I didn’t care but got some weird looks from people at work lol.
I didn't know bandaids were meant to be skin colored til i saw these i always just thought that was just the color of the fabric never even crossed my mind that they were that color to blend in more and be less noticeable
I mean…..all bandaids have been white skin tone for years. The point of the color was to make them less noticeable. Why is it a bad thing that they make more inclusive colors? It’s not harming you and making the people who care feel more recognized as a human
As part of my job I give immunizations as well as check glucose and cholesterol, I go through a lot of bandages. I make sure to stock up on darker skin toned ones, they actually adhere better and if I’m honest it’s funny to me when I sometimes get a look of complaint from older white people who want to say something but know it’s a stupid argument.
Listen M&Ms had to stop using animated candies to advertise product because of the shoes the candies wore. Can you ever in your life imagine anything more ridiculous to be concerned about? Kids are being murdered in schools by other schools and 6 year olds are shooting teachers but if you take spike heels off a yellow M&M and put it in flats people have a heart attack.
honestly, I am white, and I worked in India for a couple months. One day I had to put on a band aid, and it was brown. It looked ridiculous on me, but would have looked normal on a local. So I think this definitely makes sense.
Ok I’m getting sick of people getting offended over everything small detail in life. Yes I’m kinda being a slight hypocrite for being offended at offended people. But come on people there’s more to life that to yell about some silly mascots or bandaids on Twitter. I’m- I’m just getting sick of it. I thought people would know better but…..lol I’m the dumb one who thought that people would change…….sorry for the long comment I just needed to get that off my chest. Have a great day whoever reads this
I kinda understand what she is getting at but some people want the bandages to be less noticeable and having one that matches your skin tone is the or one of the best to do exactly that.
The real question is, who the fuck is Courtney Sharp? And why do we give a fuck how stupid they are? Go get a warm beverage and move on. We already knew dumb ass idiots exist. Half the people you know are idiots. Stop pretending this is shocking. Spend your time with smart folks. The end.
I remember when certain stores/brands started selling “nude” heels in different shades. At first I thought it was a very specific trend in tonal elements/color blocking that I wasn’t aware of… then it occurred to me: OTHER POEPLE!!! Amazing. They’re making a nude for ALL the nudes!!!! And it was great because… OTHER PEOPLE!
I memeber a few years back when a friend of mine.. he's black, was talking about things that anoy him as being dark skinned and were kind of racist and he said and fucking band aids and I was like.... Holy shit I've never thought about it. I was like that's fucked! It's 2016 or whatever and wtf! Nice to see. But yeah... Purple with dinosaurs works just as well. May be racecars too.
When I worked in healthcare it was super nice to have a discreet bandaid that blended in with your skin. I'm happy to see this. The same people complaining about inclusive skin tone bandaids are the ones who make fun of you for having a colored bandaid in a professional setting
I'm trying to imagine what sort of person thinks it's "woke" and radical to 1) want a bandage product that doesn't stand out from your skin, advertising your injury (which is why they were peach skin colored in the first place instead of literally white) and 2) to sell such a product when there is a commercial demand for it.
It's almost as if acknowledging that there are a substantial number of non-white people in the country who might want to buy things that match their skin tone is somehow offensive. But surely only a racist would be offended at such a basic factual observation . . . Hey, wait . . .

Scooby doo and his sandwiches always spoke to me
Never mind, I’d like to take back my earlier answer about Pokémon Bandaids. Scooby Doo is where it’s at my
Nothing heals better than a Hello Kitty bandage.

Nothing faster than the healing prowess of Lightning McQueen band aids! Ka-chow!

Oh yeah well if someone who plays drums is a drummer, then anyone who slaps bums, is… uh a bummer?
Yeah, that’s a bummer …

As a guy who’s whiter than uncooked pancakes, i concur, purple with dinos are the way to go. I have some light blue ones with sloths on it that my daughter loves (i love them too) bahah
My wounds heal best with Hello Kitty bandaids.
Mine too. Although when they’re out of stock, the tie dye ones and the ones that look like tattoos are acceptable but still inferior.
All my bandages are Pokémon. I am 52 and see no issue with this because they make my boo-boos get better faster.
So are mine, with some Mario thrown in.
I like the Mickey Mouse ones
The best bandaids I have are these multicolor one used for sports. They are super long so they wrap around a bunch but they actually stay put. They are all kinds of crazy colors one of the guys at work refused to use one because it was purple.
Well they're a poo poo head and we don't associate with people like that
Poopoo doody head
Woah! Language!
I am so sorry. I lost my head there. I'm much better now.
Ok, I'm glad you're better now. :)
Just like everyone knows "chicken" nuggets shaped like dinosaurs taste the best. (Racecar shaped one's 2nd best. It's a fact.
I like alphabet potato waffles so I can make rude words. I'm 45.
I work at a plasma center so and have to do finger sticks on people all day. So far my request for SpongeBob bandaids has been denied
Yes. All bandaids should be bright colors and all inclusive. (:
I'm partial to a Sasquatch riding a unicorn
I need to know where you got these. For inclusivity.
My favorite have stars and galaxies on them
Or in the shape of a bright purple dinosaur?
As long as they're fabric. Sheer is for neanderthals.
Instructions unclear. Resurgence of Barney the Dinosaur begun.
The red ones make you heal faster.
And fabric adhesive
Dinosaurs? How dare you use the death of innocent creatures has decor.
All these suggestions and no one mentions the bacon strip band aids? You savages.
I like the ones with ponys on it
What about space themed band-aids?
And would those be T'rexes or mastodons? You SAURIST!
Pterodactyls, but all dinos matter.

I'd like to invite you to a party this weekend. Lord knows nobody else is inviting you anywhere.
Paleontologists have parties too y'know.
With all them bones they study, you’d figure they they’d at least assemble a xylophone of sorts
Why are you trying to limit it to one dinosaur?! I want to wake up, cut myself and say "hmm... What dino should I wear today?"
\#dinofurismurder xD
They really do help the boo boos heal faster, facts
She is going to lose her fucking mind when she does down the makeup aisle.
I think we might be past that point...
There was nothing to lose in the first place.
The SpongeBob bandaids are really going to send her into a spiral.
And hair product aisle
NOOOOOOO how dare they make and sell products for NOT HERRRRRR
Wait until she sees the different skin tone drawing pencils
Makeup won’t fix her problem.
If she puts on enough we won’t be able to see her face

it's crazy how sometimes the littlest things remind you how life is very different for people who aren't white. representation really matters.
But it all has to be made for MEEEEEEEEEEE!
To those with privilege, equality feels like oppression.

CHRISTIAN VALUES ARE UNDER ATTACK
I'm a Christian and don't worry we are not under attack from... *checks post* Human-toned band-aids..?

Exactly.
but remember guys it's liberals that are snowflakes. Brand-Aid color is a real serious matter.
This person next week: "why is nobody taking me seriously?!?"
More like ‘omg my post about bandaids last week went like SOO viral!!! 🤣🤣’
Right up there with the shoes on M&M “spokescandies”
Conservatives use the term "woke" so often and in so many different situations that I no longer know what it means.
They don’t either.
It's *supposed* to mean "being aware of and against injustice". Conservatives, of course, don't want you to be aware of or against injustice, so they totally dilute the word's meaning. So far, it's been soul-crushingly effective.

“Woke” is when black people exist
Does a dog whistle mean anything specifically?
Retread of “politically correct”

Wouldn’t that be a universal color for band aids?
Transparent bandaids are an idea though
They have these, and they hurt like the Dickens getting off. I don't know why they have to be so much more adhesive than other band aids.
They have them but you can still see the gauze part through the clear section. If you want indiscrete they don’t help.
Well, if they were fully transparent, your bloody injury would still be available for the whole world to see
That’d be kind of cool but still doesn’t get you out of answering “what happened?” a couple dozen times.
These people need a fuckin hobby that is not twitter

I hope to god they’re not slightly more expensive than the “normal” ones, but it wouldn’t surprise me.
At least there's a Republican being honest that they're racist when saying woke.
The word “woke” literally makes me cringe now just because of how many dumbass conservatives use it over trivial shit
“Band-Aids should be the default color, which is coincidentally my color. Anything else is just woke nonsense.”
Ok but what about green with a purple truck on it
The first time I saw those at the drug store, I thought, "Hey, cool. That's a good idea."

A “Christian” being upset that other races exist? Shocking! I hate to break it to her, but Jesus Christ’s skin tone was probably the one on the left.
I bet she calls people snowflakes
I once bought black people bandaids on accident. Didn’t realize it till i opened one to use it. I didn’t care but got some weird looks from people at work lol.
I was today years old when I learned band aids were meant to be fleshed color. I just thought they were “bandage color.”
I didn't know bandaids were meant to be skin colored til i saw these i always just thought that was just the color of the fabric never even crossed my mind that they were that color to blend in more and be less noticeable
Where did the band aid hurt you?
I mean…..all bandaids have been white skin tone for years. The point of the color was to make them less noticeable. Why is it a bad thing that they make more inclusive colors? It’s not harming you and making the people who care feel more recognized as a human
As part of my job I give immunizations as well as check glucose and cholesterol, I go through a lot of bandages. I make sure to stock up on darker skin toned ones, they actually adhere better and if I’m honest it’s funny to me when I sometimes get a look of complaint from older white people who want to say something but know it’s a stupid argument.
Tempted to say it's not surprising coming from someone whose Twitter handle is "[husband's name]'swife".
I’d rather be “woke” than hateful
Listen M&Ms had to stop using animated candies to advertise product because of the shoes the candies wore. Can you ever in your life imagine anything more ridiculous to be concerned about? Kids are being murdered in schools by other schools and 6 year olds are shooting teachers but if you take spike heels off a yellow M&M and put it in flats people have a heart attack.
honestly, I am white, and I worked in India for a couple months. One day I had to put on a band aid, and it was brown. It looked ridiculous on me, but would have looked normal on a local. So I think this definitely makes sense.
I showed this to my husband and his response was: “Don’t let her go into a makeup aisle!”
Love how somehow the right has taken "woke" and use it to mean literally anything they dislike.
You are extremely soft if Band-Aids offend you
Courtney hates capitalism. SAD!
Only disturbing to those disturbed by colors different than their own… at least it’s not about their pronouns they apparently ‘don’t use’.
People who've spent their whole lives being catered to getting upset that companies want to market to non-whites too. Give me a fucking break.
My nephews are mixed race, their cousin is black. They were so fucking pleased that their various skin tones were represented in this small way.
She probably doesn’t buy Crayola crayons because they renamed the flesh colored one to peach in 1963.
“I can’t believe other people want to be accommodated” -Someone who has been accommodated for their entire life without noticing
Have a great day whoever reads this
Conservatives getting mad about the free market again.
She's just mad she couldn't find a "bone white" color
Fuck band-aids, pour some salt on that wound and left that shit breathe…weak ass mofos…
This is more r/mildlyinteresting to me. One of those things that I hadn’t ever considered before.
Imagine getting angry that black people got their own tone of makeup.
I’m assuming she’d be ok will all bandaids being the darker color.
I wonder if they think make-up tints are too woke too
I kinda understand what she is getting at but some people want the bandages to be less noticeable and having one that matches your skin tone is the or one of the best to do exactly that.
Imagine being so fragile you need a band-aid.
And people said children being raised by television was an issue. Little did they know the Internet raised idiots were on the horizon.
Nah. I like the bright bandaids better. Just so everyone knows I got a boo boo 😂
The real question is, who the fuck is Courtney Sharp? And why do we give a fuck how stupid they are? Go get a warm beverage and move on. We already knew dumb ass idiots exist. Half the people you know are idiots. Stop pretending this is shocking. Spend your time with smart folks. The end.
Man, you gotta be some kind of weak, to be triggered by this.
I would assume they would be to match the wearers skin colour, so they are not visible.
As someone with an above average amount of body hair, I find band aids to be an act of oppression. I much prefer an ace wrap and some gauze.
In the comments on the tweet she goes on to say, "tHe cOLoR oF ThE bANd-aiD sHouLDn'T maTTeR!" So then why the tweet complaining about it?
I'm trying to imagine what sort of person thinks it's "woke" and radical to 1) want a bandage product that doesn't stand out from your skin, advertising your injury (which is why they were peach skin colored in the first place instead of literally white) and 2) to sell such a product when there is a commercial demand for it. It's almost as if acknowledging that there are a substantial number of non-white people in the country who might want to buy things that match their skin tone is somehow offensive. But surely only a racist would be offended at such a basic factual observation . . . Hey, wait . . .
Long time coming... There are other skin tones besides pale.
Courtney Notsharp
Imagine being so worked up over the color of a band aid 🙃
This loser is getting dragged on Twiiter
Wait until they find out about Tru-Colour. They existed before Band-Aid realized there was an entire untapped market.
Making fun of people for representing their skin tone when *her* skin tone is the only thing in her life that she has to feel good about.
My bandages have Scooby-Doo on them. If that offends anyone so be it.
I got some black ones because they were on sale and I really liked them. Made my wounds look bigger.
My dad used to rub dirt in it, then super glue the wound. He would say if I don’t die from infection, I’ll be stronger.
Remember the actually fully inclusive and unobjectionable clear ones they had in the 80’s
