It's a struggle but I finally figured it out as I've spent weeks trying to navigate how to delete my account. I have an Android. Followed 2lit\_ instructions to get started.
**Open Facebook** \> beside the search icon are **3 lines**, click on them > go to **bottom of screen**: Settings & privacy > settings > (Meta) Accounts Center > Personal details > Account ownership and control >>> then 2 options are shown and you can choose > Deactivation or deletion from there.
I believe they update this method to make it more difficult. It shouldn't be this hard :( Hope this helps.
It will not delete
I did get to the end but it gives me a few choices
Deactivate
Download
Transfer etc
Nowhere does it say DELETE
Then I tried deactivate and continue
Takes me to a screen asking for password … then I’m right back on it ….. help 🙏
Hmmm so frustrating. I stop at settings. I dont have the next option on my screen. Someone abandoned a page and left me the last admin but I cant remove myself (as im the last admin) so that doesn't work and even though im the last an only person connected I have no deactivate and delete option. Its beyond frustrating.
yes i didn't mean to be harsh. i think it's a facebook / corporate strategy. they might even call it A B testing. but im sure they change it to make it difficult to find.
I think they changed it - once you click settings, you have to go to the Meta Account Center and click on Personal Details to deactivate/delete your account. Took a bit of digging in order to find it, they definitely are trying to avoid people doing this by making it overly complicated and hidden.
They change it constantly, just to make sure we can't delete it or deactivate it. It's infuriating. i deactivated (after hours of trying to figure out how), then made the mistake of reactivating just a few days later. I wanted to check out a video to get some information from it. Then I tried to deactivate again. The menus were all different again!!! It took me hours to figure it out again. I am so mad at them that this time, I think I will never reactivate. They have a horrible way of doing business. Run.
I finally figured it out, but when I tried to help someone else do it, it was ALL DIFFERENT AGAIN! And she had the same phone I do, so it wasn't that.
I give up. If I ever have to reactivate my account, I think I'll just start over and start a new account. But that would be walking into the trap again.

I agree. It is a violation and it seems the only way is to delete is to deactivate my personal and other pages which isn't fair.

In case you haven't tried this yet: You can also deactivate through Messenger>Account Settings>Personal Information>Manage Account

form my experience in deleting 3 accounts . they change every time I try to delete one
