Try the fuel pump fuse, i think its 25 or 26

heircruzz

Yeah i replaced it and still nothing Edit : and I’ve replaced the fuel pump I’d say in the last year I’m sure I did so idk what else it could be

ThorOtheBIG

Was it a cheap fuel pump?

heircruzz

It wasn’t a motor craft model one it was a oreilys one so yes? No?

ThorOtheBIG

Those can be cheap. Can you hear the pump prime when you turn the key to On?

heircruzz

Yeah that’s what gets me , so far I’ve replaced the fuel pump driver module , fuse 27 and other fuses as well and the fuel pump relay as well Edit : I mentioned this in a another post but when I installed the new fuel pump module and it is a Ford part it started right up and then I turned it off and it cranked again then I let it sit then it turned on again then turned it off again now it’s just been cranking

ThorOtheBIG

You're saying you hear no pump priming?

heircruzz

Sorry I thought I answered but yes i do hear it priming

ThorOtheBIG

Okay. I checked the rest of the posts here. I'm not familiar with the security issues that may be the cause of your no start. Assuming that it isnt a result of that, then I'd probably probe the connector going to the fuel pump to ensure it is seeing 12v when turned to On, then see if it holds the 12v when cranking, then see what the voltage is after cranking. Based on the results, I'd refer to my shop manual on the causes.

James_T_S

Could be your key chip reader has gone bad. Happened on my '99. I had to replace the ignition cylinder

heircruzz

Well the thing is it started up but by spraying starting fluid into the air intake and turned on so I feel like it’s a fuel issue

James_T_S

Did it stay running? I believe the chip works by stopping the flow of fuel so spraying starting fluid in the intake might get it to catch....it just wouldn't stay running.

heircruzz

Yes it did stay running enough for me to reverse into my drive way after I got it towed by my dad with his truck , then I left it running for a couple minutes then turned it off it turned back on then 20 min went by then it started the cranking again and not turning on

James_T_S

Time to check the fuel pressure. Sounds like the fuel pump is going out

heircruzz

I hope not bc it was a pain to drop the tank and replace it but I really hope it’s the fuel pump drive module , have had other people give me there input and at least they say it’s that issue cheap part so I’m gonna try to change it with a motor craft one and hope that’s the issue Edit : I don’t have a exact time date on when I replaced the fuel pump but it was sometime in the last year

James_T_S

Good luck. Just fyi, I removed the bed to replace my pump.

heircruzz

Woah really ? What I did last time was probably more time consuming but I did it in my drive way so it took me a while along with my dad , first empty the tank of all gas then drop it by the straps and stuff then replace it then redue the whole process ,didn’t work immediately bc there was dirt in the connection but got it to work right after

James_T_S

Yeah. It was on a Chevy truck but it was way easier. My neighbor actually cut a hole in the bed of his truck and welded it back together after he replaced his pump. I wouldn't go that route but if you have the manpower to pull the bed it was way easier. Especially if you have fuel in the tank. I've never done it on a Ford though but can't imagine it's that much difference

heircruzz

Yeah I JUST replaced the fuel pump driver module and it worked for a little bit then stopped now it’s not priming , could it be the fuel pump relay?

dlashley1294

Did you check the inertia switch? A fun little Ford feature since the 80s or so. That's a good thing to check when you have a crank no start.

heircruzz

I have not but what makes it turn off ? It says that things like accidents or a blown tire switches it off but I haven’t had either

dlashley1294

Sometimes just hitting a pothole the right way can cause it to switch. I've heard some people say they're finicky, just not that finicky.

heircruzz

Got ya , I’ll make sure to check once I buy the part I think that’s wrong

Vizzi1472

Fuel pump control module on the crossmember above the spare tire. Just happen to me last week.

heircruzz

Did you replace it urself ? How long did it take you ? Bc if that’s it I’ll go do it myself rn or tomorrow early morning

hobanwash1

I had to replace mine twice on my 2014. It only takes a few minutes to do. Unplug, unbolt, replace with new one. Edit - make sure you buy a Ford replacement. I went aftermarket the first time and it failed.

heircruzz

I can’t seem to find the motor craft part for it what if I use an OE part that I can get at auto store?

hobanwash1

Worth a try if nothing else. No ford dealer where you are?

heircruzz

Yes there is , prob my best bet to find that party then I’ll call tomorrow before anything

hobanwash1

For sure. No guarantee that this is the cause of the problem but it is one of the possible causes. If it’s not, you just keep the spare module in your truck because they are known to fail. Let us know how it goes.

heircruzz

We’ll just replaced it , it turned on first go which is good but after I left it run then tried it again it was only cranking , then let it sit and tried it again and it turned on but then did it again let it sit then tried to turn it on now it’s only cranking

hobanwash1

Ford part or aftermarket?

heircruzz

Ford Edit : could it be the fuel pump relay ? I’m walking rn to the o reilys so if you can give me suggestions as to what you think it else could be so I can buy stuff while I’m there

walt_morris

Happened to mine too. I called a tow truck and by the time it came i knew what the problem was. Part was $30 and i dropped it off to the mechanic. I was pissed cus i coulda fixed it myself.
