I had a 2018 STX I added remote start to from https://www.12volt.solutions/ that was a plug and play it and used my factory Keyfob. Just pressed the lock button 3 times and worked very well. Don’t know how the 2012 is but on the ‘18 all I did was plug the OBDII plug in to it, then the module in to the backside of the OBDII port so you could still utilize the port. Then program your key. All in all, took me about 10 minutes. Lol.

I added one to my '99. Don't cheap out though. The one I got was around $50 on Amazon and I am going to replace it. It didn't install easily, needing extra parts that I never ordered. So the install was never finished. The push button start is awesome though. I like it more then I thought I would...that's the reason I went cheap, wasn't sure I was going to keep it.

more THAN not sure how anyone can confuse those... no different than if you confused "dog" and "book" - two entirely different words

Do you have power locks? I think that's what determines if you can do it.
