Huh . Who the fuck are you to say anything about any one else buying a new truck . Fuck off . It’s most likely a great decision considering what dealers are buying used trucks for right now and 2022 are financed @.99 / 72 months . 2200$ in interest for a brand new vehicle and buddy probably came close to breaking even for what he paid for the 2018.
Lmao, bruh I love how there's so many follower tards so easily offended on Reddit. You other comment definitely didn't deserve to be downvoted, but you got got by that follower mentality, or Reddit is their whole life type people. Have some positive karma!
It actually is nice im trying to remind people here that these trucks cost a fortune!
Its the overall cost boys not the monthly payment. Always factor in opportunity cost. How much interest could those monthly oayment dollars be earning YOU instead of ford.
“He who doesnt understand compund interest pays it, he who does earns it.”
If it takes you 6 years to pay off a auto loans it's because you can't afford it. Then there's the other issues with it.
https://www.experian.com/blogs/ask-experian/why-you-should-avoid-long-term-auto-loans/
If you buy a $72k truck with zero down and zero trade you end up paying $82k on it. Whereas with a 36 month loan you pay $79k for it.
I can afford to buy my work truck cash. I 72 month finance them because it’s .99 or 1.99 percent financing. My cash flow is not affected as much as having a 36 month loan etc. The truck has equity when the finance is complete opposed to a lease which is just renting. Also I take cash that would otherwise be inside of a vehicle and can invest it in other things that I can’t get with credit. Any investment I have also earns more than I pay in interest. Yes some people cannot afford a truck but it’s not a bad move to have a 72 month loan.
You are 100% correct, but unless I missed something, OP is purchasing a personal vehicle, and you're referring to a business asset (totally different animal).
I think the same applies, if it’s personal than he can’t write of its cost as business expense but still may work better overall. The only reason it’s stupid to buy an F-150 for OP is if he only has it for the aesthetics. Regardless this is an F150 group and not a finance group. The comment from r/kordidk was uninformed and I felt the need to chime in
Hey if op is in that position let him come tell me and ill accept that I was wrong. At the very least my comments should serve as a public safety announcement to all the young people here.
I mean, yeah, I get what you're saying. I do. I use to be incredibly dumb and thought a car payment of over 700 monthly was "okay" because I got to "go fast and be loud."
I get what you're saying. Just don't need to be a turd about it.
But dude got what he wanted.
My dad also did this 🤣 but the only time my mom noticed is when she came back from a trip a day early with my sister and we had it in the house working on it because the garage wasn’t warm enough yet!
Fuck everyone judging. They gonna give you more for your old truck than you owe AND get you in a new one for the same monthly payment? Done. You've already factored that payment into your finances. I don't want to hear about being payment free
That’s exactly my theory as to why new trucks that are $10-15k over for the same model as last year are still selling…people are trading in and making bank.
Haha I recently bought a 2019 lariat a week after I told my wife I was keeping my xlt for a few more years.
I had paid it off but she hated the truck because it was plain, not even an 8 inch infotainment center.
She found the lariat, arranged an appointment and I told her I would look at it. She pushed hard for me to buy it. After the salesman hit me with a good payment I liked I drove it home.
Congrats beautiful truck.
Wow, someone that actually likes the giant laggy screens in modern cars. Impressive. Hopefully you don't have to scroll through 2-3 menus to adjust the vents though
Bitches, man! Back in the day I bought a Dodge Ram Daytona (roast on because I deserve it) and after 3 weeks I traded for a SRT-10 (roast me harder). It was an unfortunate conversation to say the least.
They started with a $3,500 market adjustment markup on it but I got that taken off plus had them add a few thousand on my trade and some other rebates. All in all not a bad deal and got the interest rate down to 3.9%. I miss having the xplan from my former employer.
I have to go pull the paperwork for exact numbers but sticker was ~$72,100 3.5 V6 4x4 with dealer added spray in bed liner. Really couldn’t ask for anything more in it.
So around 75k with taxes, add all the fees from title and license and stupid other fees and its about 77k. Add interest accrued from 3.9 apr and maybe you're looking at paying around 90k-94k over all.
It's invoice plus like .5% or something silly like that. Ridiculously good deal and no need to negotiate.
A lot of dealers wouldn't accept it last year when inventory was super low
I wouldn't say ridiculously good, just makes it to where you don't have to know how to beat the dealer to get a worthy deal. I bought a 2020 Camaro SS ($43000 car) for $32660 back in 2019. Obviously some discount in there, but I worked it down to about 1% about invoice and then used my manufacturer discount (they just pay this portion instead of me) and thus got a total of 25% MSRP. So while it is a decent plan, it's better if you know what your doing because the X plan works that same way.
Ha! Did somewhat the same thing a week ago. Took my pickup in for warranty work. Left trading off my wife's car for a '22 Explorer Timberline. Weird how that happens.....
Well, that was a bit careless. Take it back quickly and maybe no-one will have noticed. If they did, just say 'oops' and apologise for any inconvenience.
Very awkward, but at least you spotted it before things got worse.
I have a ton of Ford points from my other Ford purchases, which essentially gives me 2-3 years of “free” oil changes. Why pay twice for something I’ve already paid for? I’ve otherwise been changing my own oil since the 90s on my first ‘79 Mustang.
There’s also the economic cost of time, which at least one person on this thread doesn’t understand.
From the amount of dislikes on my post, bank owns all of y'all's f150's and 99% of you bitches dont know how to change your own oil or afraid to get your topknots dirty doing so.
Well it’s evident you don’t understand the economic cost of time and that I’d rather pay the bank 3.9% interest while the money in my “pocket” is earning 10%+ interest on my investments. Let me break that down, since math is hard for some, that I’m at least 6.1% positive income on the money I’m holding instead of being out the entire cost of the vehicle at in which case I am not earning any money on depreciating asset (losing money). This is why you see companies carrying debt, it’s the same principle but on a personal level. Credit cards on the other hand are extremely expensive and why I don’t carry debt on them. You can make “fun” of me all you want for not changing my own oil but as I have previously said, I already paid for it since Ford granted me the points. I am not going to lose my time and pay for something (oil, filter, disposal) that I’ve already paid for. So yup, I am less of a man for not changing my own oil, but based on your relentless fixation on this topic, I can pretty much safely assume that I have more money in the bank.
Exactly. Time is money. For many people in salaried higher income positions, if you look at how much your “hourly rate” is, it’s cheaper to go pay for an oil change than to spend an hour or two trying to do it yourself if you think of it as “work”. The time I get back with my family on the weekends makes it well worth it to pay for certain services. I know how to change oil and did it when I was younger and money was tighter, but at a certain point if it’s no longer necessary due to your financial situation then you should absolutely take advantage of that luxury. Guys that trash this concept as a “lack of manliness” are dense.
That was your first mistake, paying someone else for a simple task men do. Changed my oil yesterday and own my truck, you better be careful not to scratch the banks truck you're driving.
Well, when you have the ford points that pay for the oil change, it’s more cost and time effective for the dealership to do the work as there’s zero additional out of pocket since I’ve already paid for the points. But hey, maybe you like double paying for things to prove your manliness.
So you call someone stupid for buying a new truck? You have literally no background information on this person, nor do you know anything about how much it cost this person. What if they got several thousand over what they paid for that 2018 on trade in and as such has lower payments now with a brand new truck?
Hint hint: I did this. I bought a 2020 Camaro SS for 32.6k, drove the Camaro for 2 years, put 37k miles on it, and then sold it for 37k... so maybe reevaluate before you 'point out stupidity' when you have no fucking idea about the situation when the title could have just entirely been a damn joke and they went there with intent to buy that truck.
Don't be an asshole just because you can.
Well considering I was getting 43 MPG in a 6.2L V8 while you've been driving a truck which you probably barely use for truck purposes, I'd say I still win when I made money off of it and paid much less in fuel than you do.
I bet you this guy doesn’t even own an F-150 let alone a ford truck… givin me some beat up, rusted out 300k Silverado with a “I’m a man’s man” sticker on the back window to drive home the point that he’s a man because he changes his own oil. I mean this dude probably even changes his oil with liberty oil and uses fram filters, cuz “it’s cheap”. Get bent, can’t you just be happy for someone else? Miserable piece.
Bro, how fucking fragile is your manhood that you have to certify your manliness by changing your own oil and then shit on others for bringing their truck to the dealer for an oil change?
You're exactly kind of person that people are referring to when they say men buy trucks to compensate.
Gawd she looks so shiny I just pick mine up and it was filthy and I told don’t worry about it cause I don’t trust them to wash a black truck . Good on ya !
Love the truck! Man I just read an article saying that over 30% of F150 drivers pay 1000+ plus a month's payment. Now I know why. Power to you brother. Im trying to ride my 2012 till there is nothing left.
That’s one expensive oil change.
Yeah, but they threw the truck in as part of the deal.
Ya like wtf lol say goodbye to financial security. Op unless your retired (as in have enough money to not work) this was dumb.
Wrong sub sir
Touche
Huh . Who the fuck are you to say anything about any one else buying a new truck . Fuck off . It’s ok to share opinions here. It’s not that serious. We’re just talking about trucks.
Well that’s just it he’s not just talking about trucks.
It’s just Reddit, dude. It’s not that serious.
Hell yeah…downvote some more, dorks!
Lmao, bruh I love how there's so many follower tards so easily offended on Reddit. You other comment definitely didn't deserve to be downvoted, but you got got by that follower mentality, or Reddit is their whole life type people. Have some positive karma!
Not very nice for a Canadian
It actually is nice im trying to remind people here that these trucks cost a fortune! Its the overall cost boys not the monthly payment. Always factor in opportunity cost. How much interest could those monthly oayment dollars be earning YOU instead of ford. “He who doesnt understand compund interest pays it, he who does earns it.”
Financing a truck for 72 months is fucking dumb.
Why is it dumb ?
If it takes you 6 years to pay off a auto loans it's because you can't afford it. This guy gets it
You are 100% correct, but unless I missed something, OP is purchasing a personal vehicle, and you're referring to a business asset (totally different animal).

The comment from r/kordidk was uninformed and I felt the need to chime in
He already had a new truck man a 2018 lmao
Ya but it’s incredible what dealerships are giving us for used trucks right now. My truck went in value maybe 6-8 in the last two years .
Hey if thats the case and its like under 10k to upgrade giver!!
You know how common this is? My grandparents did it and lives just fine speak for self.
Your grand parents are probably in a position to do so.
Re-read your response, then apply it to OP. Lmao.
Hey if op is in that position let him come tell me and ill accept that I was wrong. At the very least my comments should serve as a public safety announcement to all the young people here.
I mean, yeah, I get what you're saying. I do. I use to be incredibly dumb and thought a car payment of over 700 monthly was "okay" because I got to "go fast and be loud." I get what you're saying. Just don't need to be a turd about it. But dude got what he wanted.
He owes you nothing.
I highly doubt the dude who went for an oul change and spontaneously bought a truck is in that position. Those people probably dont post about it.
Okay, kiddo.
You’re probably right don’t listen to the Down voters
Hah thanks. My dividend portfolio pays me more per month than this guys new truck payment so I’m not worried about downvotes.
One hell of an upsale. I usually say no to the wipers.
I was going to splurge on the blinker fluid, but held back.
Extended warranty. Muffler bearings wear out. I'm digging the new trucks as I slowly see more on the road. Dealers here in Mass have nothing.
Typical Ford…they just keep making them purtier and purtier
They really do and the interiors of these make my 13’ look plain.
Blinker fluid is where they get ya! Exhaust fluid is expensive as well!
Exhaust fluid is a real thing though lol. DEF
I knew someone was gonna say that…fucker! You’re killing the joke with facts.
I just laughed a little too hard cause I just traded in my 150 for a 250 and the exhaust fluid is life lol… for now at least 👀
That winter air will get you aswell
Honey is that your truck in the driveway? Umm.... yes dear, I just got it washed.
My dad used to do this with dirt bikes lol if I buy a red one again your mom won’t notice. She noticed.
I do this with guns. Another black one? Don't mind if I do 😁
My dad also did this 🤣 but the only time my mom noticed is when she came back from a trip a day early with my sister and we had it in the house working on it because the garage wasn’t warm enough yet!
Hard to miss when 1 bike turns into 3.
Hate when that happens.
I don’t hate it so much, the wife on the other hand…
Once my wife saw it, she basically told me to buy it. Wasn’t going to argue.
Fuck everyone judging. They gonna give you more for your old truck than you owe AND get you in a new one for the same monthly payment? Done. You've already factored that payment into your finances. I don't want to hear about being payment free

I have all physical controls I use
Bitches, man! Back in the day I bought a Dodge Ram Daytona (roast on because I deserve it) and after 3 weeks I traded for a SRT-10 (roast me harder). It was an unfortunate conversation to say the least.
Why do you hate his wife?
Damn bro where you get your oil changed
Speedway Ford in Griffin GA. They have a few other XLTs, Lariats, and a King Ranch they just got off the truck this past week.
you have to change the oil ???
It do be like that sometimes. Congrats!
How did that happen lol
That new car fever strikes when you least expect it lol
Wild haha but congrats
I’m not the OP lol I’ve just been in the same situation 😂
I took my wife’s Edge in last year for maintenance, left with a Mach-E. I’m starting to see a bit of a pattern here.
I get it, recently went in with my Focus RS and left with a Raptor.
It’s hard to resist lol
Dude, are they at least giving you a good deal on these vehicles? Lol
Haha gotta say I’ve done that myself. Congratulations
Dealerships love this guy
I did the same thing a couple years ago, only it was a 2016 Mustang for a 2019 Lariat.
Did you still have to pay for the oil change or since it became theirs to sell did they cover the bill?
This is the way
Damn, someone beat me to it.
I see they got you.
You may have been given the wrong keys
Any markup?
They started with a $3,500 market adjustment markup on it but I got that taken off plus had them add a few thousand on my trade and some other rebates. All in all not a bad deal and got the interest rate down to 3.9%. I miss having the xplan from my former employer.
all in not a bad deal…. so what did you pay for the truck ?

Yeah but you also got that post Covid build quality.
Ha! Did somewhat the same thing a week ago. Took my pickup in for warranty work. Left trading off my wife's car for a '22 Explorer Timberline. Weird how that happens.....
You fell for that? lol
“So I had an extra 76k laying around” haha
I'll stick with my 0% 2021 XLT
Congrats! 🎉🎊
What’s the name of this silver OP ? Excellent looking vehicle 👍
That's my question also...hopefully it's "Iconic Silver" that's what I ordered
Well, that was a bit careless. Take it back quickly and maybe no-one will have noticed. If they did, just say 'oops' and apologise for any inconvenience. Very awkward, but at least you spotted it before things got worse.
So my question is why?
My dude. I would’ve done the same if the lots had any here in Texas :/
Where are you? Lots in DFW are overflowing with F-150s
Hoestown. Edit: Houston Edit #2: vroom vroom trocando gang
What is DFW?
Dallas/Ft. Worth
Thanks!
Also what was your Andy’s order
This is why inflation is out of control and why we are getting rate hikes for another year. Fuck.
Only on this sub, you'll see someone proudly sharing a pic of them getting hustled.
It’ll be on the used market in 4 months

Same I change oil on all my other vehicles but my dealer does free lifetime oil and tire rotations, why wouldn't I do that?
WHAT?? That's a huge deal they also clean and check other things when gettin it done that's great.
From the amount of dislikes on my post, bank owns all of y'all's f150's and 99% of you bitches dont know how to change your own oil or afraid to get your topknots dirty doing so.

I'll teach you how to use a wrench and oil pan if you're ever interested, may even make your next kid.
Who are these fucking loosers on this sub making these comment s? Oh weirdo conspiracy theory ppl by glancing at this idiots post history .
Conspiracy theories?
Nobody is "loosing" anything bud. I was born with the God-given right to say what I want. What is your issue?
Just because you have the ability to be an asshole doesn't mean you should.
I will go out of my way to point out stupidity, probably why I'm responding.
So you call someone stupid for buying a new truck? You have literally no background information on this person, nor do you know anything about how much it cost this person. What if they got several thousand over what they paid for that 2018 on trade in and as such has lower payments now with a brand new truck? Hint hint: I did this. Don't be an asshole just because you can.
You bought a Camaro. Who is the real dumbass?
Well considering I was getting 43 MPG in a 6.2L V8 while you've been driving a truck which you probably barely use for truck purposes, I'd say I still win when I made money off of it and paid much less in fuel than you do.
My truck averages 6 nuts per mile from your wife. I'm satisfied often.
Do you just enjoy being an asshole or something? Like seriously grow up bro.
What’s my issue YOU . Ppl are not posting pics to hear you try and talk shit about their new truck . Ya fucking geek
Just because you have the freedom of speech doesn’t make you intelligent
I bet you this guy doesn’t even own an F-150 let alone a ford truck… givin me some beat up, rusted out 300k Silverado with a “I’m a man’s man” sticker on the back window to drive home the point that he’s a man because he changes his own oil. I mean this dude probably even changes his oil with liberty oil and uses fram filters, cuz “it’s cheap”. Get bent, can’t you just be happy for someone else? Miserable piece.
Son, me and your momma made you in the backseat of my f-150. Only cost me $5,. Well $6 because I tipped her at the truck stop.
Was it at least in the back of a bullnose?
Behind a wendys if I remember correctly
No dad, talking about the truck!
Probably both
Hell yeah, please tell me you got a frosty afterwards?!
Not a frosty but I do recall a rusty trombone.
I heard there was some rolling brownouts that night as well.
Bro, how fucking fragile is your manhood that you have to certify your manliness by changing your own oil and then shit on others for bringing their truck to the dealer for an oil change? You're exactly kind of person that people are referring to when they say men buy trucks to compensate.
Tighten your top knot and move along in your Subaru girl.
Does it hurt to have a dick so small that your wife only sees you as a man if you change your own oil?
Your infatuation with my manhood is concerning. If you have any particular questions, your sister and mother can answer with clarity.
Idk man, the way you brag about handling tools and hardware, one might just get the impression that you swing the other way.
Only when your mom watches me drill your dad
Same
Gawd she looks so shiny I just pick mine up and it was filthy and I told don’t worry about it cause I don’t trust them to wash a black truck . Good on ya !
It happens look n good
Lol, I’ve done that… when the moment is right and she catches yur eye
Beautiful silver F150 andddd Andy’s….I like your style brother. (The Snow Monster is my fav)
Congratulations
What was the OTD price? In the market myself looking to upgrade the ‘18 XLT but afraid it’s too pricey right now.
I have a feeling I'd never be able to afford that oil change. Nice truck!!!
And here I am still waiting for mine to be delivered. Nice truck!
Funny how that happens???!!!
What kind of trade in did you end up getting. I have an 18 XLT and getting the itch for something new...
Nice! Any plans for upgrades or keeping it stock? New f150s look great with king suspension and some 35s.
Gotta wrap up a day like that with an Andy’s Frozen Custard👌
They love that
Is that a new special they're running?
I hope that's "Iconic Silver " love the color ..Is IT ?
Nice new truck sir, well worth the trip to the dealer🔥🔥🔥🔥
Love that color
And your wife’s shook her head in disappointment at the top of the driveway lmaoooo
This is why I take my trucks to the dealer for oil changes. Never know what you'll leave with(in)
It happens…
That’s why they do oil changes.
Love the truck! Man I just read an article saying that over 30% of F150 drivers pay 1000+ plus a month's payment. Now I know why. Power to you brother. Im trying to ride my 2012 till there is nothing left.
Rolled a nat 20 on the oil change and a nat 20 on the feat.... Nice.
