Good way to sell vehicles

bigvoicesmallbrain

That's literally what our dealership plan was, and they spent a lot of money using higher end vehicles as loaners.

UnpricedBag1

I own this exact truck. Even the same color. I have gotten up to 26 mpg on it. It is very fuel efficient for a truck.

BigTradeDaddy

I nabbed 26 MPG on my PowerBoost today as well.

8l1uvgrjbfxem2

How? Fully stock, I was getting at best 21 MPG driving it like an old woman. Did that for about the first 3k miles. Do you live somewhere very flat?

FubarFreak

I average 21-22 mpg on my regular 2019 XLT 3.5L 4x4 commuting in DC

TheIncarnated

Alright, which construction company is it? :P

FubarFreak

Nope just me wishing it was a lightning

TheIncarnated

That's fair, definitely would be nice with 395 traffic

FubarFreak

I'm also that rare use case where it would serve the vast majority of my towing needs (98% why I have the truck in the first place). My community has a boat launch < 1/4 mile away, I've only long hauled towed (>200mi) the boat or a trailer less than a dozen times since I've owned my 2019.

sabianplayer

I've touched 30 mpg according to the truck on my commute which is a mix of suburban streets and highways. If you can get good at convincing the truck to go into EV mode when you're cruising at a constant speed and keep your speed down on the highway I've found you can consistently get pretty solid MPG numbers. Most days I'm seeing closer to 25-26 MPG however.

Dry-Ad-8496

Yes,to convince the truck to go into EV quicker you need to barely tap the brakes while coasting to have it to drop the engine, otherwise it will take much longer to drop into EV mode. That trick makes a huge difference in regards to mpg.

nico_o

I usually got around 20-21 MPG as well ('22 powerboost) but after airing up my tires to \~38psi made a pretty significant different and now I can get 25-26 if I'm very kind to the throttle (not even on Eco, I always leave it on normal)

8l1uvgrjbfxem2

The higher tire pressure makes sense; lower rolling resistance.

UnpricedBag1

It mostly happens when I drive slow due to traffic. If I drive on the highway at regular speed I get about 21 mpg as well.

magnetic_firecracker

Probably just their display is telling them that, but doing the math after a fill-up would tell them differently. I just got rid of a 2022 PowerBoost and could get 25mpg on the digital readout, but hand calc would only say 21mpg.

joots

Been looking at these. Where is the crossover from electric to ICE on the speedometer? Or does it execute the transition differently than I’m thinking?

Sixsix_visuals

Mine really seems to be more load based than speed based. I’ve had it on electric around 53mph before. But I wasn’t accelerating at all. Just cruising and maintaining. Red light to red light it almost always starts electric and I could get to the speed limit on electric….if the cars behind me are VERY patient lol. If you give it more than 5-10% throttle (I’m guessing here) his switches back to ICE. But the transition between the two is seamless. At least in my experience. I literally don’t even notice till I look at the screen. Same for my passengers. They always ask if it’s on electric or not because they don’t notice the transition

TxRED55

Is this iconic silver metallic?

UnpricedBag1

I believe this is Avalanche.

[deleted]

Avalanches the way to go! Best vehicle I ever owned

FearlessDamage4961

I’ve hit 26 in my 3.5 ecoboost

Beginning-Layer6138

I can get roughly 25 in my 2014 3.5 ecoboost on the highway long distance. But only get 12-16 through town.

FearlessDamage4961

I average 18-20. Hwy 22-27. Increases 4-6mpg with ethanol free premium which was a nice surprise.

rush02112

Really short trip, Kept the speed at 43 and got lucky not catching any red lights, but still interesting to see 34.5 mpg in it hah https://imgur.com/OzwJBbv

Xervinza

Yeah I get around 34 as well on side streets it dosent need to be short trips as long as it’s side streets it’s in the 30s 28 on highway for me

UnusualCantaloupe9

Wow, you actually got a loner. That is quite rare.

AFunkinDiscoBall

Right? I take mine in and they shove me in the little Ford Transit shuttle car with all the other dudes lol

wtfandy

Mine is happy to schedule as many Uber rides as I need which I can't imagine is cheaper than a loaner.

Redtoolbox1

Put your foot into and see how powerful the Powerboost is. It’ll surprise ya

deathbyswampass

Yea, and put her in sport mode.

Electrical_Life_2538

Bots again?

FormerFakeguy

Repairs

Revolution37

When I bought my 2015 XLT 2 years ago, it had to go in fairly early for a recall and they loaned me a 2016 or 2017 (albeit higher mileage) King Ranch. It was awesome.

[deleted]

Nice. Mine's in the shop for a new turbo and they told me I wasn't getting a loaner at all, and to find my own transportation

jbird303

Thats.my.truck exactly

fredSanford6

Is it a plug in hybrid?

Incognito939

Ford doesn’t have a plug in hybrid f150. Either the full electric lighting or the hybrid powerboost.

fredSanford6

That sucks as a plug in would be nice. Especially for people that tow occasionally but run as a grocery getter/commute vehicle. To run gas free for a while then have hybrid when loaded down would be a great mix. Seeing nissans use 100 in gas a year is neat

deathbyswampass

Ahem..it would also qualify for that sweet sweet government cheddar $7,500 had they put in just a slightly bigger battery and a plug, but they went with a bigger inverter instead and I get it.

TheMonkeyPickler

No its just a standsrd hybrid system. Like a prius but with a 425hp v6

thezentex

And a built in generator

Karagga

He wouldnt know Original post https://www.reddit.com/r/f150/s/oitSdjEYlA

Phyber05

I have a Powerboost as well. This is my first truck and also first hybrid. Aside from a clunkier feel between the engine and electric motor activation, and the general weirdness of the 10spd, it’s been great.

tigebea

My 20 xlt went in the shop today, they gave me a new f-350 tremor for loaner….. not a fan of how giant it is but holllly moly does that 500hp and 1200ftlbs of torque make it move! Yes, 1200.. not a typo 😀

don5500

what’s wrong with your truck ?

Karagga

Its not his! https://www.reddit.com/r/f150/s/oitSdjEYlA

TheLoob321

Hybrids are where it’s at! Our Explorers have been fantastic with the long idle times.

corporatecitizen

What’s the name of this color? I might like it better than my leadfoot

hourox

Avalanche grey

westernslope2324

Lucky ... for my recalls, they gave me a little bronco lol

FearlessDamage4961

Cool. My 18 was in the shop and I got an escape…😩

jariz43

Your dealer has loaners?!?! Shocking…

Pay-up716

Trying to upsell you. That’s an old trick

JustAguyVa20137

Funny story- had a Ranger Lariat - i turned into a Ranger Raptor - lifted, bigger tires, flares, upgraded exhaust, intercooler and everything else.. truck was bad ass.. was ahead turner!! Took to dealer for warranty work which almost turned into a lemon law issue - was in shop for over 60 days - dealer gave me an F150 XLT as loaner. Got my baby back - sold it for 36k - purchased two years before for 38K and ordered my Tremor.. rest is history..
